Chincilla sitting?

well, I'm here now but off to bed. Its taken tillabout 10 mins ago to puttogether the 'new' pc cupboard we got off ebay. My poor friend agreed to take dh to Watford to collect, and what with getting lost and needing to disassemble it, the whole trip took almost 3 hours And then 3 hours to reassemble and bung the pc etc in it. But i love it! Been after one since they came out, and hopefullt its a bit more anti-ds2, as well as storing loads in it!

Ds2 did the crying-if-put-in-the-cot thing again tonight too. A particular PITA as I had ds1 and his friend getting tired and fighting over everything as I was trying to get ds2 down!

Jas · 09/08/2007 07:44

Morning, (and hello Alice)

The dds got back at tea time last night DD2 needed lots of cuddles and had a nightmare last night. One night too many I think, for her.

I think christening presents are appropriate only from Godparents if you just have a very small christening. If bigger, then all family too, and if you have a party, everyone , even if it is only small from most guests. Rude to turn up with nothing imo (as I did on the piss up weekend)

?link to your new pc desk mrm?

Yay for gradual improvement in sleeping for Pippa. Hope things are back to normal by tonight.

I have an extra girl to entertain today. and dp is at home too (new job starting tomorrow) but will be back this evening.

Chloe55 · 09/08/2007 08:15

Morning everyone,

Hiya Alicet - I thought I recognised your name, must be from the antenatal thread.

Today could be a very bad day at work, I have a feeling one of the girls handed her notice in last night and if she did then the boss will fall to pieces (still ongoing tribunal with another member of staff) and the work atmosphere will be dreadful again - just as it had started to pick up I hope she changed her mind but it's doubtful.

We still haven't booked a Christening and dh's parents are extremely upset about it. I have left it up to dh to organise seeing as though he is the Catholic one but I think, for his parents sake, I should take charge. I can't be bothered though as I'm busy organising his surprise 30th for Oct!

mustrunmore · 09/08/2007 08:53

Here! But I'd never have paid that much for it! Thank God for ebay!

Poor dd2. I love going away, but I still get that glad to be home feeling when we get back
Wouldn't worry about going empty handed to csws. As if me taking some choc fingers, a tub of coleslaw, and 2 bottles of very odd alcopop included as 'taking something'

Off to Hampstead Heath for a picnic today.

Found cupboard locks that are ds2-proof for the kitchen, so now need to get more for the pc cupboard

FlameBatfink · 09/08/2007 09:18

Not read.

Brain is all over the place for some reason (probably hormones). Still trying to decide if I should go to Wales or not. I really want to stay home, but then I keep worrying that something will happen to DS (not DD for some reason ) and I won't be able to get there.

It makes no logical sense as I would happily leave them at home (as I have demonstrated) - but sending them away without me scares me

I genuinely don't know what to do for the best, and it is worrying me If I stay, then I have the whole "what if something happens", if I go then I keep thinking "I could have done x,y & z and when will I get the chance again?"

MN poll so far says stay.

Stay.

I just found the++++++++++++++++33333333333 instructions to your cd player Flame; do you need them?222222222555555548jj2.............644441444444444444444444400000............05 25

FlameBatfink · 09/08/2007 09:40

I've not touched it yet - realised when I got home that I have no earphones

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 09/08/2007 09:54

That'll be because it was for my treadmill, so didnt need any! But I can ask dh if he's got any kicking around at work. I've got some for the other cd walkman we've got, but now that seems to have stopped working

FlameBatfink · 09/08/2007 10:12

Lol, no I meant I thought I had some, not that you hadn't given me any!!

OP posts:
alicet · 09/08/2007 12:21

Thanks for all your welcomes! Hard to catch up with you all really as don't know a lot of what your all talking about without the background! But sure I will pick it up! Sorry if I ask obvious repetitive questions though!

Flamebatfink - obviously don't know why you are going to Wales / how old your dcs are, or who they would be going with without you etc etc. But if it helps I would love dh to take ds away for a couple of days to have some time chilling at home on my own! Again, maybe thats not why you want to stay but there we go.... Can't help your gut reaction and worry though can you and if you'll spend the whole time they're away worrying then perhaps its not worth it at the mo for you....

Cantsleepwontsleep - glad to hear your dd is sleeping better - it sounds like this has been a struggle so great news!

Chloe55 - hope your day at work isn't as bad as you think....

May be around later but hope you're all having a lovely day in the sun! We went to the park this am but home now for ds's sleep...

FlameBatfink · 09/08/2007 12:46

Lol - Sorry, hiya

DH's family in Wales, DC are 4 and 17 months. I am going with the staying home decision Going to try and arrange a night out with some friends.

OP posts:
alicet · 09/08/2007 12:55

Good move on the staying at home! Hope you have a lovely relaxing time and enjoy your night out in the blissful knowledge that you won't have to get up in the night or at 6.30am the next day or something equally horrendous! Sounds like heaven!

Dh and I are going down to stay with my parents for a week on Sat and they are looking after ds for 2 nights so we can stay in a hotel. Can't wait! Much as I love ds with all my heart its lovely to have a break too...

Chloe55 · 09/08/2007 16:18

Yep, vote here for staying at home too.

Well work was good actually, she did hand her notice in but he gave her it back, said he wasn't accepting it and they had it out and made up

Just clipped/bathed/flea treated the dog - has took me one and a half hours!, Not quite as short as your dog though pg

Jas · 09/08/2007 17:04

Too late anyway, but definitely staying at home vote here.

mrm- dds are very happy with their cd player, but I did smile when I saw you had given me the receipt and instructions. I used to keep things like that, too, but now it all gets binned.

Anyone doing anything next week?
I have a blank calendar apart from the 8am swimming lessons again. I think I'd be willing to splash out on a willows farm trip if anyone was interested in joining me.

Mum and dad are off to Australia for a month so you will have to take your chances on if they still have the socks in when they get back. I will look when I am out, too though.

Oh, glad work was ok, Chloe, but you get my madwoman award for working for that little take home after childcare. I make that much baking cakes I do realise your childcare costs will go down and my income won't go up, so as a long term thing you are sensible.

mustrunmore · 09/08/2007 17:44

But everyone should keep their receipts

I'm going to willows the following week i think (away next wk at mums).Have you got free child vouchers?

Good day at the park today, with paddling pool, apart from one argument between ds1 and his friend. Ds1 got sooo upset, and thats the first time I've ever really identified with him like that, but he just looked so much like me when I was little

FlameBatfink · 09/08/2007 18:57

Have cocked up money for the month (with hindsight budgeting for the two excursions would have been sensible ),

DS isn't right - oddly spotty face (not pox) and just miserable and dopey,

DD is whingey but I think she is picking up on me, and tired from where we let DS out of his cot at 6am this morning

I cocked up a dying order and now have a tie dye nappy no-one will want (seeing as everyone whinged for me to do the "in stock" tie dye but no-one buys them ), and have to buy more dye to do the right one.

I have no idea what my body is doing - I am huge, tummy ache yesterday and a teeny bit of spotting, but nothing since... it is 4 weeks since the weirdness, another 2 weeks until I am due on my old schedule.

I also seem to have MumOfMonster's emotions (my own bloody fault for not blocking each morning) and I just want to stop the world because it is all too hard.

Not that'd it'd help, as you'd have to put up with the boys too You can always call for a chat you know. i'm skint too, due to IOW, 2 trips to Tabs, a new pc cupbard to hwelp my messy messy house, and too amny dsays trips to Willows, Knebworth etc etc. And tickets to go home to Mums.

FlameBatfink · 09/08/2007 19:09

flame. You're having a low time lately aren't u? (((hugs)))

Hello Alicet

Glad you had an ok day at work Chloe

Flame i can attempt to cheer you up a little bit. Royal Mail have called our strikes off and have agreed to talks

We're going to Scarborough for the day tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to spending the day on the beach Lewis will love it

Jas · 09/08/2007 19:53

Flame. Did you get my cheques yet? (Not that they will make a difference really, but always good to have) I posted on Tuesday I think.

I'm skint too if t helps. I'm spending my tin of pound coins on the dds now (was a great idea for the summer hols. It means dd1 can have a haircut tomorrow)
Luckily for me I'm as sensitive as a brieze block so I don't have to worry about picking up on other peoples emotions

mrm - I have free child vouchers, and have nothing on the week after, either. Can I join you? (Any day but Wednesday)

KelBelle · 09/08/2007 19:54

Oh Flame- hugs to you xxxx Hope all is better in the morning.

DS is in bed and I have an old mate popping round shortly. He and I used to be drinking partners and I've not seen him for about 8 years so it will be nice to catch up.

I feel soooooooo tired tonight though, could actually have done with an early night instead I'm addicted to facebook!
