Lew hardly ever even stands in his cot never mind try to get out. I did go in to find him out of his sleeping bag this morning though. He'd undone the poppers on both shoulders and wriggled out of it

I spent £129 at Asda. We never spend that much normally never mind when we're so skint. Good job i've got Mr Visa

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 12:23

Talking of wriggling out of things, on the way to nanna's this am I checked my rear view mirror at ds and noticed he had wriggled his arms out of his seat belt straps - dh always comments that I practically put his im a straight jacket hold in his seat too so I couldn't have possibly put them too slack - he did it 3 more times on the way there after I kept stopping a readjusting. I can't physically make them any tighter, I have no idea how he is doing it!!!

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 12:26

Oh and dh and I watched the remake of The Omen last night, the house felt a bit eerie, the animals seemed to be acting up a bit and then 1/2 way through the film ds made this terrifying squeal and starting making really ear piercing screams - we both rushed upstairs and he was looking terrified, his little heart was going ten to the dozen. I can safely say that me and dh were positively shitting ourselves and have decided not to watch The Omen again - I still have no idea why ds should wake up so scared like that!

2boysmacca · 20/08/2007 13:53

I've put the wheels in motion to finally become a fitness instructor/personal trainer. Just need to discuss finances with dh and I could be starting in October. Eeek!!!! I'm shitting myself if I'm making the right decision. The qualification I can deal with it's the starting up a business afterwards I'm terrified of doing....

Have you tested again Chloe?

Ds used to get out of his straps but it was a passing phase. As for cots and beds, we put ds in a bed at 20 months, he was an angel. We didn't take the travel cot when we went to PIL last week, just a bed guard. BIG mistake, ds2 thought it was party time and it took us 3 hours of lying with him to get him to sleep (otherwise he was wandering around the room or sitting on a sleeping ds!!!). We borrowed one for the remainder of the week. I won't be trying that again in a hurry

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 13:58

Yeah, my friend got me a Clear Blue test because she didn't trust Tesco's own - again it showed up negative. It's weird though because I keep feeling really sick periodically throughout the day and have done for at least a week now. Been feeling a little lightheaded too, I just keep putting it down to a bug but it is odd. If I hadn't done those tests I would have said that I was pg 100% as I am feeling exactly how I did in the first few weeks of ds (other than the metallic taste in my mouth). But I know 3 tests can't be wrong and I have just come off the pill so that could have messed my system up big time. I just pray that I don't come on on holiday next week

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 14:00

Whoops, forgot to ask - what do you have to do for your training then?

And also, do you reckon I should maybe be considering a bed shortly after my hols? I'd hate for him to go crashing out of the cot but then I don't want to be making a rod for my own back and putting him in a bed too soon

2boysmacca · 20/08/2007 14:26

It's a 6 month studying followed by a 6 day intensive at boot camp! Exercise, gym training, rehab, nutrition, etc etc

If he's a climber, he's just gonna climb right out of bed and make life a misery for you. He may well try and get out of the cot once but when he climbs over and thumps to the ground, they don't try and do it too often again

Are you testing in the morning, first pee? Like I've said before, I didn't show with both of mine. I only knew I was with ds2 beacuse my SPD came back immediately and i just knew, even though the test kept saying nope!

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 15:06

No, it hasn't been first pee but then Clear Blue do seem to be very accurate and they say you can test at anytime. Did you not show positive any of the way through your pgs?

I thought that would probably be the case with him climbing in and out of bed tbh, just hate the thought of him going head first onto the floor.

2boysmacca · 20/08/2007 15:09

Sorry, yes I did but it didn't show up for quite a few days after i was late. I used clear blue and first response, neither of which gave positives so early on. I'd def do the next first thing.

Right, ds2 up so I'm taking them to the park. It's not raining but it's cold

2boysmacca · 20/08/2007 16:48

HELP! OK serious nappy rash developed here. Ds2 is screaming. He has blisters over his bum, and I have put Barts bees diaper cream on. I have put another nappy on him although I know I shouldn't but he is pooping for England. Any other suggestions??? His little bum is bleeding.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/08/2007 17:17

Metanium. Always gets MNs recommendation.

Jas · 20/08/2007 17:31

Climbing baby - If you have a spare mattress, put it on the floor next to the cot for hen the inevitable happens. Failing that, a quilt. Once you put one that small in a bed, you need a stair gate on the door (or I did, and mine ere both ell over to)

(I've just discovered my letter after v and before x doesn't ork) Just realised I on't be able to [ink]

Fitness training sounds like hard ork, but then so does being fit to me

My baby doesn't like metanium, but I ended up at the dr ith his nappy rash, and it finally cleared up hen the thrush as treated.

mustrunmore · 20/08/2007 17:57

Jas, I cant believe i clicked on your link... and then actually got into the whole thing and read that thread
BTW, ds1 is really looking forward to seeing the girls tomorrow! He was all for coming at 4.30 today when we were on our way back from the day out!

I'm knackered. Good day at the model village, but remind me not to make a habit of going out with a 1 yr old a 2 yr old and a 3yr old, the middle one of which is a real runner And it was really busy there
today, so I couldnt get through the crowds to catch him. And then him and ds1 were just egging each other on. So I banned them from a ride on the model railway, meany that I am

2boysmacca · 20/08/2007 18:52

I put him in a lavender bath and he screamed. In fact, he has been screaming since 4.30. I feel like crying.

I haven't managed to put the spuds in the oven so we either have to eat at 8.30 tonight or just have a takeaway

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 19:06

Go for a takeaway.

I guess all you can do tonight is smother him in nappy cream and try and keep him as nappy free as poss tomorrow. When ds was really bad once I just stopped in all day with him and followed him around with handfuls of babywipes to catch any 'accidents' It was very tedious but his nappy rash hugely improved as soon as his bum was aired for a day. Shame it's not warm or you could've let him outside in a paddling pool or something.

mustrunmore · 20/08/2007 19:37

Sorry Macca, I wasnt ignoring his bum, I've been trying to think of a useful bit of advice. But havent.

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 19:43

Bloody hell, I'm bored - dh has only just set off from work and he has to get 2 buses still due to his car being written off so I should be expecting him about.....erm 10pm!!!

mustrunmore · 20/08/2007 19:45

We had a miracle today; dh finished at 4pm and it only took him till 5.20 to get home (10 miles)

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 19:47

I am starting to appreciate what life is like without a car!! (Well, we have mine but it's practically knackered and besides, I need it for work hee hee)

mustrunmore · 20/08/2007 19:51

Yeah, but you know, by the time we've put the boys seats into friends cars, all the stuff, had wees, strapped everyone in.... I often wish i'd just gone by bus alone i love public transport, unless I need to get to the middle of nowhere like csws's house!

Phoenix · 20/08/2007 19:56

I keep saying to dh that we can't afford 2 cars and we should get rid of 1 of them but i know i'd be the 1st to moan if i was stuck at home with no car Both cars are paid for its just the other stuff tax, mot, services. I hate paying out for them.

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 19:56

I was thinking about this the other day when dh suggested not replacing his car - how do you manage with a pushchair and small child in tow on the bus?

Phoenix · 20/08/2007 19:57

Oh and it's def a write off Chloe?

Chloe55 · 20/08/2007 19:59

Oh yeah, it is - I'm gutted, I loved that car.

I am an absolute bottomless pit at the mo, I can't stop eating!
