Wilkie - I have done, they said it's a community issue and not a school issue ffs, they won't send letters out. J sounds like Morgan was, Ethan is almost the same as he pulls himself to his knees but not standing yet. Morgan was crawling at 6 months and walking at 9 months, Caitlin didn't crawl for ages and walked after she was 1. They're just all different I think, I don't believe it's genetic. Ethan's been saying dadada a lot and other words but I don't remember about the older 2, have to look it up.

Vino - lol at fat bum, I love little chubby babies I do love the small ones too though as Caitlin was one, just my boys are little fatties hehe.

DH - I can't wait to go, as soon as we can really, depends on dh's job. Very annoying re nits isn't it, I'm so sick of combing through their hair, it takes bloody aaagggggeeeeess! I think they just can't be arsed to be honest, I'm definitely going to write my own letter if it happens again though.

JodieG1 · 31/07/2007 21:44

eah xposts, good job you had your phone with you!

Dragonhart · 31/07/2007 22:40

Just added some pics of Luke's bday. Eventually got the climbing frame up for his bday (only took about 2 bloody months cos of the weather!).

Also a pic of my cake, which was not lobsided as the picture makes it look. Was perfectly level. Honestly.

eandh · 01/08/2007 07:51

DH Lovely pictures I love Lukes hair its gorgeous and Ruth looks impressed ith her hat

My mum is taking Ellie to see Great Grandma today she is so excited as my Nan lives in Broadstairs so they are going to the beach as well, have nephew for couple of hours this morning then just me and Hattie for rest of the day

theUrbanDryad · 01/08/2007 11:27

goodness it's quiet on here - is it cause everyone's starting back at work?

Zac's just starting to say dadadadadad, he also signs for milk and daddy, well, that's what we think anyway. we're probably just projecting our own pushiness onto the poor boy, he might just be waving his arms around randomly, but we like to think it's for milk and daddy! he doesn't sign for mummy though!!

JodieG1 · 01/08/2007 14:19

I'm about but we've been making the most of the good weather for a change. Took dd for a cycle earlier while my parents watched Ethan and Morgan. He isn't pedalling yet or I'd have taken both of them. Think we're heading to the beach at the weekend if the weather holds up.

Hi all

Well things have been a bit manic here this last week. Brought my return to work date forward a fortnight, so start on Monday, hence been flying around trying to see everyone / sort everything / tidy everything before I start back.

Just back from final visit to nursery where I had to leave her for an hour, and needless to say I burst in to tears as soon as I left her in the room. DH was quite amused but took me to a quiet spot for a hot chocolate and to cheer me up. The lo had a fine time in my absence in the sand pit.

Really must bob back later to try and catch up. Feel like I've abandoned you all the last week. Won't have a great deal of time when I'm back at work either, but looking forward to seeing some of you in London.

Lizzzombie · 01/08/2007 16:43

RGEEEEEE!!! we've missed you! xxx

geoRGEEweasley · 01/08/2007 19:17

Awww Lizz that's lovely

I just don't know where my time has gone!

UD - did you write to the hotel? I am queen complainer - recently wrote a letter for bil about a bad golf break and he just rang up tonight to say he has been offered £150 so he was pleased.

Vino - have you got the baby bouncer yet? Like lots of things, Ebay can get addictive though!
How's work? Was it a bit weird? And echo are you pg?
Didn't make the meet - was at the doctors where they diagnosed Pippa with infantile eczema . V common I understand, but still feel shit about it.

Wilkie - did you have a good anniversary . Sounds like you did...hic!
Can't believe J is standing! Competitive mother competitive mother . There is no sign of lo even crawling yet, but it does mean she doesn't stray from where I put her! Am sure she said mama this morning though. Think I'm hearing things...

Lizz - pmsl at you being a tit sorter and whiskas on chin sorter.

BTW, all my bibs are now a nice faded orange colour, and poo count is up 500%. Work that one out

Hi Jodie. Wow the beach! Now there's an idea. My dad lives at the sseaside so maybe time to visit him. Can't wait to get lo on a beach. I used to love the seaside....ice cream dribbling down my chin....2p for the slot machines...seagulls nicking my chips...travel sick on the way home..

I have nightmares about nits. I caught them once when I was 12 and my dad gave me such a bollocking and called me dirty, and refused to speak to me for 2 days. Nice huh. Needless to say, there is no doubt lo will get them at some stage and I will not have that reaction. In fact, I will probably enjoy squashing some of the little f*ckers once I've combed them out

Eah - I hope you achieved all your targets from the last six months and received a suitable bonus to thank you for it . How exciting that your DH is tempted by a 3rd!
Scary getting locked in your bathroom. Good job you had your phone with you!

Hi Lal! Well spotted about MoM! Many congrats Mom
What did you buy at Matalan Lal? Was it all for the kids?

2Happy - what noise does a randy bull make in the middle of the night. Most intrigued...

Hiya Dragon! Hope Dsis is ok. Sorry no advice from me but hope she is fine.
The cake looks yummy. PLease pass me a slice!

Our garden is v nearly finished. Six weeks later! The lawn was laid today and it all looks fab. The decking area is brill, but need to now buy a big wooden garden table for it. Also need to investigate some kids toys for the mulched area. I should be able to pick up some toys in summer sales, so please let me know if you see something good and bargain-esque. Swings, slides, sand pits etc.

eandh · 01/08/2007 19:31

I forgot to update about my work meeting - basically an admin job has come up, based at our branch and I'd still work for the Maidstone branch but would have my own office and laptop and not be on the counter. Mainly doing spreadsheets/results for the whole area, dealing with escalalted complaints (being a bit of a dogsbody for th eother branch Managers) etc etc sounds great and means I keep my salary (am still on deputy manaager salary that I was paid prior to having Ellie ) no sales targets and no dealing with customers also I would still qualify for the quarter bonus that the branch receives (about £300 for me) so have a few questions to ask but looks like I'll take it and enjoy an easy life!!!

Ellie still not home from her day out with my Mum due home soon and hoping shes nodded off in teh car and will stay asleep.

Hattie been a bit 'off' today refused breakfast and lunch ate dinner and then threw it up am hoping its her teeth and not a bug

Dragonhart · 01/08/2007 20:17

Wow, that sounds great EAH. Congratulations!

Rgee- think ELC have got some of the summer activity stuff on sale as do our Asda and Tesco. Mum got me a bargin for Luke from Tesco of a couple of plastic chairs for 75p each and a table for a couple of pounds! Might be a bit old for lo though We had a swing for Luke when he was little and he has always loved it. It was a cheap one from Argos (think about £12) He also loves it when I get his paddling pool out and put cups and toys in there. He keeps trying to pour water between cups in the lounge too though Sorry that mostly a bit old for yours though. Totally useless

Dull day here. Luke played outside. Mum came round. Played with play dough. Mean while Ruth screamed all day because of her teeth. Joy.

laughalot · 01/08/2007 20:57

Hi dragon I had pre eclampsia with Lauren I had high blood pressure and protein in my wee in the november they kept me in hospital overnight and let me go the next day. When I was 2 days overdue I had a really bad headache, blurred vision the midwife came to the house tested my wee and it had loads of protein in also my blood pressure had gone high again so they sent me back to hospital told me I had early pre eclampsia and induced me the following day they would have done it that night but had a couple of emergency c sections in. The only thing that was a pain was I had to be strapped to the monitor all the time in case her heart rate decreased which was a pain as I wanted to be stood up walking around. My bp was 155/120 when I was in labour which was dangerously high it decreased slightly when she was born but I had to stay in hospital around 4 days after untill my bp came down, I would say it took me 3 weeks for my bp to get back to a normal state but I still have to have regular check ups in case as they thought at 1 stage I may have to go on bp tablets. Pre eclampsia is ok when caught in time and the symptoms do go after the birth as the placenta causes it. My best advice is when she does come home if she has headaches or blurred vision to contact her midwife straight away. Hope she is ok xx

katwith3kittens · 01/08/2007 23:54

Hey, I've been back since saturday and have even managed to curb my MN addiction and not check in since then !

Had a lovely holiday in Italy, weather was fab, and the food and wine were even better. We were constantly stopped by italian ladies (and men it has to be said) so they could coo at LO and grab his chubby legs. I think as he is blonde and fair skinned he looked quite different from the italian babies we saw. Had him weighed on monday and is exactly 9.0Kg at 31 weeks .. no wonder my arms are klling me.

I've not been working for a few years now, but I remember with my first two having to do all the nursery stuff. Its hard initially, but they soon settle down, its just us mums that feel it more.

Not managed to catch up with all the details because as usual you've been to busy chatting... but who is crawling ???? can't believe it. My lump of a baby is just about managing to hold himself upright for 5 seconds, has no teeth, or any signs of any, and can just about throw his tummy over for one roll before he cries for mum to pick him up !

Will try and keep up on the goss but with the elder two off school now, I might find it a bit harder to get 'me' time on the laptop. Almost 4 weeks of holidays gone now ..... only another 5 to go !!!!!

VinoRouge · 02/08/2007 07:24

Hooray my working week is over and 2 days alone with Ellen ahead . Work wasn't to bad but found mon and tues evenings hectic....DH and I argued mon, tues and weds night he says he hopes it doesn't happen every week. Scary how soon you get back into the swing of stuff at work but it is nice getting paid again.

Ellen has loved nursery and was exhausted when she got home last night so no worries about that. I do miss her though

EAH - great news about your job

Dragon - how is dsis dong?

Lizz - perhaps you should bring your tape measure to the meet up and sort everyone's tits out! You could have crispy cremes as your payment!

Rgee - looking forward to seeing your garden. Our turf is growing beautifully and needs cutting now. PMSL when DH said I should cut it 'gently'. Not got baby bouncer yet cos they tried to deliver it yest when no-one was here. Will collect tomorrow.

Lizzzombie · 02/08/2007 07:47

Good morning everyone.
Bummer about Pippa's excema RGEE, hope its not too much bother to her.
Post a photo of your garden up when you are sorted, I'd love to see it.
Vino - people would never speak to me if I started on everyones tits I am sure! Most of my mates are fed up of me giving them weird bra sizes to try on. Even though they do look tons better!
I stopped BF for good 2 days ago and mine are currently huge. Proper little mitchell brothers heads! I hope they will go down a bit by work on Saturday, else I'll have to get another new bra in a scary big huge size. (I dont want to be a 32J !!!)
EaH = good news about the job. But, your own office & a computer = MN at work constantly - no?!

eandh · 02/08/2007 08:27

lizz my internet access monitored and I had a little telling off prior to maternity leave so I have to be very very selective when I am on sat at work

I have just sent Ellie back to bed since she had late night then got up at 5.30 and in a foul mood we're meant to be meeting friends later but it depends if she sleeps and gets rid of her foul mood.

Am just about to order a pencil portrait of the girls from another mnetter, thought it would make a fab xmas present for dh (need to hide it) seems reasonable price when I've compared it to other people

eandh · 02/08/2007 08:29

rgee ellie develope eczema when hattie arrived you can get oilatum bath stuff on prescription plus aqueaous cream/steroid cream (if she needs it ellie ended up on strongest % as it was very bad)

The thing that really helped her was Aveeno cream couldnt get it on prescription but buy in chemists/boots etc really really helped her and stopped the scratching

Lizzzombie · 02/08/2007 11:08

eah - poo to internet monitoring!

eandh · 02/08/2007 11:49

I have just ordered this for ellies birthday my mum and dad are paying for it

And we have got her this

eandh · 02/08/2007 12:57

RGEE I think Pippa would love one of these next year I'd love one if we had the room you could carpet it and make curtains and oh it would be so cute (eandh sighs and dreams how much Ellie and Hattie would like this)

eandh · 02/08/2007 12:58

can you tell iam so bored, meant to have met up with friends, one cancelled and the other ones mil offered to have her child (to good an opportunity to decline) so our plans have cancelled Ellie still tired and moody and Hattie in bed at the moment

2Happy · 02/08/2007 14:21

Afternoon all.
Kw3 - nice to see you back! Glad you had a nice hol
Lizzz - hope the engorgement settles soon
EaH - sympathies. I've just put my overtired moody toddler to bed too! Congrats on the job!
RGee - I second what eah says about oilatum and aveeno, tho prefer emulsifying ointment or epaderm to aqueous cream, just a personal preference.
Vino - glad the return to work gone ok, hope you're enjoying your days off.

Right, I'm going to try and get ds2 off to sleep and get stuck into the ironing. Marvellous.

Oh, Loosh, thanks , ds1 already a fan!! Nom nom!

Wilkie · 02/08/2007 15:06

Hello.

Just been to friend's mum's funeral - god I am drained now. So so sad

RGee - crap about Pippa's excema (sp) but hopefully it will clear up soon.

KW3 - Hello! Welcome back

EAH - you are too organised with christmas presents. I bet you have nearly finished your Xmas shopping and it's all wrapped and packed away

Lizz - spent 40 minutes in Debenhams with this really lovely woman who spent ages helping find the right size bra - I am a 32DD. The bra I have got makes my tits look fantastic (which they're not) so am very happy

2Happy - how did you get on with childminder? Meant to ask the other day

Vino - it's scary getting back into the swing of work so easily although I must admit to looking forward to going back

DH - great pics

LAL - sorry for being so crap at texting back!!

I am desperate for a kip but DH has a headache and so has gone for a lay down so I can't sleep cos J is crawling round the lounge, wide awake, with his taggie blanket hanging out of his mouth - I am sure he thinks he's a dog cos he keeps doing it with bib, tea towel, taggie - whatever comes to hand. Maybe I should start throwing him a stick and shouting fetch!?!?!

OP posts:
Wilkie · 02/08/2007 15:08

BTW - I am still wondering when Mothercare are gonna announce J has won their competition and send me the £2k voucher...
