Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
2Happy · 14/08/2007 14:13

Oh fuck me Looshkin's Dad just died

If there's one person in the wolrd who deserves all the happiness and luck, and who gets an unending pile of complete fucking shite happening to her it's Looshkin.

Can't stop crying.

LadyTophamHatt · 14/08/2007 14:16

oh no....poor loosh..

eandh · 14/08/2007 14:21

OMG poor Loosh please send her all my love xx

laughalot · 14/08/2007 14:57

geoRGEEweasley · 14/08/2007 17:26

Poor Loosh
Hope you're ok too 2H.

geoRGEEweasley · 14/08/2007 18:33

Plan for tomorrow anyone?

Vino - I'll meet you on the train. DH is dropping me off c 7.10am.

We arrive at London St Pan all being well just before 11am. We'll walk down to Russell Square so get there not long after 11. Should we meet in the square itself?

Off for tea shortly, but will bob back on later to firm up plans.

Shimmer · 14/08/2007 19:30

How terrible about Loosh's dad

I reckon we should meet in the square itself, so people can find us whatever time they're arriving. RGee and Vino I'll come down for just after 11 too... and hope to recognise you from your pics! Did you 2 say you're not bringing LOs? Are you bringing picnic food? Or do you want to find somewhere nearby for lunch? We can always go buy something from the lovely big waitrose nearby and take it either back to the square or inside to eat.....

We can use my brother's flat for some shelter if it's rainy. My mum's staying there at the moment but will probably be out all day.

Hope you can make it EAH!

geoRGEEweasley · 14/08/2007 20:07

Hi Shimmer. I'm not bringing lo but Vino may/may not. How helpful am I?!
Erm, no distinguishing features. Quite mad dark shoulder length hair - can't be bothered to straighten it tonight. Glasses. Erm....does that help?
Unlikely to bring picnic. Will grab a sarnie locally. Hope Lizz brings some of her tit cake though . And Eah / UD hope you can both come too.
Will prob a bit jittery from drinking too much coffee whilst travelling down first class(get us - it was only a couple of quid more!)

VinoRouge · 14/08/2007 20:08

Ok rgee see you on the train. I'm getting the bus so will prob arrive similar time as you.

Shimmer I was gonna buy some food at m&s kings cross so will wait and get something at waitrose cos I like the sound of that!!!

Can't imagine how loosh is feeling.

eandh · 14/08/2007 20:27

Hello just a quick post at present Ellie is refusing to more than 5 inches away from me (she is sleeping on the sofa with her head on my lap I am desperate for a wee but dare to move till she falls asleep properly as she really needs some decent sleep bless her), however, am hoping that the promise of a day with Nanny tomorrow will tempt her and then Hattie and I can make it. Shimmer I'll post here in the morning to let you know either way.

theUrbanDryad · 14/08/2007 22:50

2Happy - please pass on my thoughts to Loosh. you have my email address if you want to get her to get in touch with me, I've always got a listening ear open.

wrt tomorrow - we won't be leaving till after half 9 as we can't get travelcards till then, but meeting up in Russel Square sounds like a plan. Liz has my number, so you can get in touch with me and let me know where you all are!

Dh's interview went well, they said they'd be in touch over the next few days, i'm sort of apprehenive about it, i'm not sure i want to move so far from my family & friends but i don't want Z growing up where we are now!! dilemma!

eandh · 15/08/2007 07:35

Well doesnt look like I can make today as Ellie was so upset when I said about going to Nannys for the day, kept saying 'I need you Mummy' plus her rash has become itchy so spent half the night scratching herself (have now found the piriton syrup!) I am so gutted really wanted to meet you all and show Hattie off

Hopefully they'll be another meet up and I can come, will spend today on here feeling very of UD,Shimmer,Rgee,Vino etc

theUrbanDryad · 15/08/2007 08:12

bummer EAH i had a weird dream you came and i was gushing over H "She's even cuter in real life!!" poor Ellie though, "I need you Mummy," Bless. being itchy is horrible - i used to get eczema when i was a kid and it's really nasty. i'd rather be in pain than itch, at least it's not as irritating! we'll meet you another day!!

LadyTophamHatt · 15/08/2007 08:41

Wherew was the interview UD?

Was it he bristol one?

Moving away from frineds and family isn't as bad as it sounds. It is sad to leave them behind butI've done it twice now and its easy peasy to make lots of new frineds when you've got a baby.

Babies are new friend magnets

LadyTophamHatt · 15/08/2007 08:44

I actually wish I was coming to london now....

one day I will overcome my fear of London and all its nutters, of trains de-railing, of getting lost on the underground...I deffo can't do it with kids in tow!!

One day I'll take a few steps outside my little east sussex bubble.

Do you think I worry too much

eandh · 15/08/2007 09:07

Actually I was wonering whether its the stress/anxiety eczema coming back (she developed it whilst I was in hospital having Hattie all over her legs/arms/bum/bits but cant think of any reason why she would be anxious at the mo (except I threaten to cancel her birthday party a couple of times this week when she was being naughty ) and of course Hattie is so much cuter in real life especially when she does her 'i'm so excited' fist clench/toe curl giggle/chuckle

Have to say the 'i need you mummy' bit did tug my the heart strings especially when she was doing the puppy dog eyes at me whilst giving me the biggest hug ever

Hope you all have a great day and it stops raining.

theUrbanDryad · 15/08/2007 09:16

LTH - yep was the Bristol one. actually a couple of MNers have said that if i moved to Brizzel they'd be my fwends London isn't that bad - tis easy with kids, especially if you have a sling, and the others are walking. if you're worried about them taking a dive onto the live wire of the Tube rail (or whatever) put a wrist strap on them!

Lizzzombie · 15/08/2007 11:31

RGEE, VINO, SHIMMER, UD - I AM SOOOOOOOO SORRY.
I feel as rough as a dead donkey and didnt make it to London today. Obviously. Really gutted. I have a temperature (whats that about?!) I've not been ill for years and I've not felt this awful for ages. Wish I could stay in bed and sleep all day. But, I dont think that will happen somehow!
Bummer. x

eandh · 15/08/2007 17:58

phew today has been a long day it appears rash is actually allergy and after much thinking about what it could be my Mum gave her raspberries and blackberries (shop bought) on monday in a fruit pie for her pudding so it appears that is the problem. She has had a bit of a dodgy tummy today but not sure if thats related to rash etc, bless her she has made the toilet every time!

Hattie still not crawling (did a quick backward crawl yesterday lookd very shocked and flopped onto her belly!), still no teeth but has a new thing of sitting up and rocking herslef ala bum shuffle v.v.v.funny to watch.

Am sitting on here tonight as e and h officially belong to dh now he is home mmmmnn now what shall I have for tea???

eandh · 15/08/2007 19:03

whoops I just bought another buggy - how did that happen??

Shimmer · 15/08/2007 20:03

Had a fab day today with RGee, Vino & UD. It was great to see you girls (and Zac of course!), thanks for making the effort to get down here!! The weather was alright in the end so we sat out in the park and got RGee all excited by taking her to waitrose

Shame you couldn't make it Eah & Lizz. Get well soon to Ellie and to Lizz too.

Spent most of the afternoon trying to make macaroni cheese!! The recipe says to melt the butter then add flour then slowly whisk in milk so WHY WHY WHY is the result a lumpy mess??? It must be the combination of flour and butter i'm getting wrong cos it always ends up quite sticky and lumpy at this stage and doesn't dissolve into the milk or anything. Anyone got any idea what i'm talking about?????? Things like this really piss me off. I'm an intelligent person I WILL NOT let macaroni cheese beat me.

eandh · 15/08/2007 20:24

have no idea shimmer nobody likes mac cheese in this house, maybe add it more slowly (bit by bit then whisk?)

VinoRouge · 15/08/2007 21:08

Shimmer I never measure for macaroni. i melt butter then whisk in flour ( i use a small whisk) then add milk a bit at a time whisking as i go to keep it smooth. I know exactly what you're talking about. I could have shown you!!!!

i really enjoyed meeting you and UD today, will bring Ellen next time. Rgee and I had a sneaky can of g&t each on the train home.

Lizz/E&H/Anyone else - we'll have to catch up with you another time.

Ellen is getting her 2nd tooth so bit whingy tonight.

Rgee - my seafood linguine was DELICIOUS!!!

katwith3kittens · 15/08/2007 22:32

Sounds like you girls had a really good day (did u all get on ? )

Well not much to report in our house, LO is sitting happily but making no attempts to crawl, which tbh I'm really pleased about cos the longer he stays where I put him the better. I can sit him out on the lawn in front of the rabbit run and he's entranced, and I get a good 5 minutes to hare around doing stuff !

No sign of any teeth yet although he's dribbling like mad so maybe they are just round the corner.

Sounds like you lot are very adventureous with all your weaning recipies (sorry to hear about DD1 EaH, my nephew had the same thing with strawberries but he grew out of it by the time he was 5 or so. Its very common .. the allergy .. not eating berries LOL . I'm pureeing for now, well some of it is lumpy, because tbh I love feeding him, he is so appreciative and eats EVERYTHING I have given him so far. He's only really had fruit and veg for now as DS1 had an egg allergy as a baby so I'm holding off with egg for a while longer and I might try chicken soon. Its great having a baby that loves his food, the other 2 were real faddy eaters when they were this age. Today he had hummous and olives for a snack and wolfed them down. Its no wonder he's such a chubster !

Feeling quite pleased with myself at the moment as I am back down to my pre baby weight of 11 years ago, and have even dropped a jeans size to an 8 (well, tops are 12 as norks are still huge All this BF is worth it afterall !

PS Macaroni cheese is so easy you can do it in the microwave using just one bowl and a pan for boiling the pasta [great for lazy mums like me !]. Chop an onion and microwave for 1 min in butter till soft. Add flour and stir to coat onion, add milk and cheese then microwave again and VOILA .. instant cheese sauce. Finally add in cooked pasta !

theUrbanDryad · 16/08/2007 04:55

morning everyone - we are driving down to Plymouth this morning, hence the horrendously early start. dh said he wanted to leave by 4 - ha! guess who was still snoring at 4 and who was getting up making the tea and having the shower?? guess i'm just used to less sleep than he is.

yesterday was good fun - loved meeting Vino RGee and Shimmer, and the rain held off! i think we all got on - though they probably all thought i was a mad lady (was v nervous so probably talking like a loon!)

anyway, best go and load the car - dh has just got out of the shower, Z's the only one still catching some z's!!!
