Thought I would attempt a new thread (sorry 2Happy)...

LadyTophamHatt · 13/08/2007 22:07

Jodie, they way you've descridedyou rds1 is exactly like my Ds1.

Honestly...they sound identical.

Wilkie · 14/08/2007 07:51

UD - am desperate to know how the night went (I bullied her into moving the cot ). Another good night to report??

EAH - what have you done to me? I am now obsessed with buying PJ's. I don't bother with a gro-bag or blanket anymore, just his PJ's - long sleeved for cold nights and t-shirt/shorts combo for warm nights. What else does Hattie wear? And will this work in the winter too?

Jodie - PITA about your DS. I have no advice to offer but you have my sympathies J too is cruising which is so funny to watch - he likes to show off holding on with one hand and grinning like a loon at you, he has just about mastered the art of sitting down from standing gracefully too.

Well, this is my last week before I go back to work. Have mixed emotions at the minute but I'm not dreading it which then in turn makes me feel guily!!!!

DH is in serious talks about this business now. Trying hard not to get too excited.

Had a shite nite hattie awake 11-12.30 then ellie up at 3 because she didnt feel well she has a rash all over her face and torso looks a bit like prickly heat and got a temp got her settled at 5ish then hattie awake at 5.45 so feeling knackered and incredibly moody and got to call the Drs at 8.30 although i know they wont have any appointments and we'll have to go and sit and wait for the emergency Dr

Wilkie - Hattie has long sleeved pj's and long bottoms and short pjs for hot nights, occasionally if she has short ones on and its turned chillier I'll put a cotton sheet over her although she often wiggles out of it. In the winter I buy the all in one fleece sleepsuits and normally just have that and vest on if its very cold she may have pj's on underneath. However Ellie is old enough to cover herself with her duvet if she gets cold so she just has pj's on, she doesnt like nightdresses so refuses to wear them

UD how did it go last night?

Jodie/LTH Full sympathy to you both especially the not listening/running off Ellie is just like that (for me apparently she doesnt do it for my mum/mil??) although my mum threatens to put one of those wrist straps on her and she hates it

Right suppose I better go and feed them breakfast the joys of being a mum huh!

Lizzzombie · 14/08/2007 08:14

Morning y'all!
Have something a little bit gross to confess...started to feed LO puree'd canned peaches (in fruit juice not syrup) and its flavored his poo peach. They smell much nicer! I really recommend it!

Lizzzombie · 14/08/2007 08:16

eah - am making you a strong cup of virtual coffee. do you take sugar? hope ellies rash goes away soon x

eandh · 14/08/2007 08:25

thankyou lizz I have had couple of cups of tea with 2 sugars already, I can cope with her being ill its the whining because she is tired that gets on my nerves - I know its not her fault but I dont think I make a good Mummy/nurse when they are ill

JodieG1 · 14/08/2007 08:32

LTH - It's hard isn't it, I find it so difficult with just 2 more as well as him so can imagine how you feel. HOping to get a referral from the gp at least and will take it from there.

Wilkie - Hehe Ethan can nearly sit down without bumping but not quite yet.

EandH - Poor Hattie hope she feels better soon.

Shimmer - Ethan had a roast dinner on Sunday for the first time and LOVED it! roast potatoes, yorkshire puds, cauliflower, brocolli and carrots we forgot to give him some turkey but I'm sure he'd have eaten that too! I have to say this BLW is amazing and makes eating together far easier than when I did purees with the older two. It means we can all just sit and eat without having to take turns feeding him and eating out is easier too as we can just order something for him or give him some of ours.

LTH and eah - love the pics, need some new ones on myself.

I'm going to try and call a few churches today to get Ethan christened, want to get it done soon.

I'm trying to start my own business soon and am very excited I'm in the planning and finding out info stage still but once I've done my business plan and heard back from the bank then I'll let you all know, trying to keep it secret at the mo, I'll tell people on msn but don't really want it stuck here on the board, never know who's reading and aren't telling anyone but my parents yet.

JodieG1 · 14/08/2007 08:33

Liz - cross posts, Ethan ate nearly a whole peach the other day, he loved it but was a tad messy hehe. I just cut it into longish strips, about 6 or 7 totalled a whole peach and he just sat eating it.

Wilkie · 14/08/2007 08:55

UD has just text me to ask if we can channel some good luck vibes to Mr UD for his job interview today at 1pm. GOOD LUCK!!!!

Just uploaded a few more photos.

Jodie - I'm scared of giving J strips of fruit/cucumber in case he chokes. Does Ethan handle it OK?

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 14/08/2007 09:00

f has strips of steamed carrot, cucumber, ripe pear, even corn on the cob, he loves it. Has some pureed stuff too, probaby equal amounts. He sometimes gags a little but not really, he's just bringing the pieces round to the front. Hardly ever gags now actually.

JodieG1 · 14/08/2007 09:02

Wilkie - he's absolutely fine with them, I steam veg so it's soft and fruit like peach is soft anyway. I won't give raw apple as I worry about that but most things are fine. He has toast for breakfst, scrambled eggs, etc and whatever we have for dinner. He handles and manages food so much easier now he's a bit older.

Wilkie · 14/08/2007 09:05

Hmmmm, I might have to try him with some then. He is great with stuff like bread and butter, biscuits, rice cakes but the slippy fruit/veg worry me about slipping down his throat and choking him.

OP posts:
Shimmer · 14/08/2007 09:34

Wilkie F has soft fruits and veg too and manages okay. His main problem is that he shoves way too much in at once sometimes and then gags a bit and has to spit some out again He does still gag occasionally and i still have the odd moment of panic when he doesn't manage to get it out straight away. We do about half finger food and half purees too(and on the whole i'd actually say that purees were easier. So much less mess and much quicker and less scary).

So rainy here today. Boo Better not rain tomorrow.

Good luck Mr UD!!!!

And Mr Wilkie too for this new job you're not getting excited about

And Jodie for your new business. How exciting!

eandh · 14/08/2007 09:44

right back from Drs looks like a virus so just got to top her up with calpol/nurofen and go back in 72hours if no better although its likely that Hattie is going to catch it too so will now have to wait and see how they are before I can decide if we are coming tomorrow as if Hattie is going to have it dont want to infect you all

eandh · 14/08/2007 09:49

what a clever gorgeous little man wilkie

JodieG1 · 14/08/2007 09:56

Shimmer - thanks Funny how everyone thinks differently about purees and finger foods, I hated having to sit and feed baby whilst food was going cold and I know finger foods are very messy but it's so nice watching them eat for themselves and makes family mealtimes so much more enjoyable.

eah - hope she's better soon

Wilkie · 14/08/2007 09:59

Can babies have wholemeal pasta?? Thinking of doing that for lunch with some melted cheese and butter for J

OP posts:
LadyTophamHatt · 14/08/2007 10:05

Bloody hell wilkie, I can't believe J is up atthe furniture already!

I remeber ds1 was crawling and stuff by this age and it was great....but now that I'm on No4 I thinking my lucky stars that Ds4 isn't doing the same.

Honestly it fills me with dread the thought of him being on the move!

eandh · 14/08/2007 10:05

think they can wilkie - neither of mine like pasta (although I dont either!) hattie loves digestive biscuits especially if you dunk them in milk so they are a bit mushy!! She has toast/bread/ricecakes etc but havent tried that much finger food yet (although she does randomly grab ellies stuff) am going to start making her dinners a little lumpier now

JodieG1 · 14/08/2007 10:38

LTH - I know what you mean lol, Ethan is the same now always up the sofas and tables, he's standing up all the time now. Morgan was an early walker but not until 9 months and I think Ethan was crawing sooner and standing sooner so am waiting to see when he walks. Caitlin was late, not until over 1 until she took her first steps and crawled about 9 months I think.

VinoRouge · 14/08/2007 12:10

Shimmer I'd like to look at SWMNBN book if you can bring it tomorrow. Lets hope it doesn't rain too much!

Knackered at the mo....

VinoRouge · 14/08/2007 12:11

Forgot to say:-

Jodie - thinking of you.
E&H - hope e&h are fighting fit soon
UD - hope interview was ok and that the night was too. I take it it the cot has been moved from your room ??

Lizzzombie · 14/08/2007 12:23

Oooh Jodie own business sounds exciting. Looking forward to hearing about it. I'm too much of a wuss to do anything like that.
LTH Are you coming to London tomorrow? Do you still want to meet up along the way? I can meet you at Eastbourne, or Lewes or Haywards Heath or Victoria...whichever is easiest.
Hope the weather is ok tomorrow. We had a terrential downpour here this morning.
Eah - sorry to hear about the virus. Hope it passes soon. Not nice.
Had DJ weighed this morning. 18.5lbs at 6.5 months. He is a little below par, but he's fairly active, so not too bothered.
Its funny isnt it, how we are all trying to loose weight, but we want our babies to gain weight.
2Happy - that April thread has some great reciepies on it. I am going to make LOWFAT CHOCOLATE MUFFINS tonight! Does this mean I can eat twice as many?!

eandh · 14/08/2007 12:30

fingers crossed for mr ud!!

LadyTophamHatt · 14/08/2007 13:28

NO, not coming Lizzz. Dh is taking Ds1 to paris on eurostar for teh day so even if I was brave enough to battle agianst all the nutters in London I can't come anyway.
