UD and Lizz glad you can make it on Thurs. I can't decide whether to bring Ellen with me or not.....

Had a busy weekend. My life seems too busy really. Wedding yesterday was gorgeous, friend looked beautiful. Ellen was really good bless her. She fell asleep in the best man speech and when stood her up on the table she grabbed my (empty) wine glass and put it to her lips. It was caught on camera!!!

Been to an underwater photoshoot with her today arranged by our swim class. We all enjoyed it and I can't wait to see the pics but got to wait til 22nd.

Rgee yes we are thinking of moving, same place just a bit more space.

Shimmer - Ellen has 3 bottles and 3 meals. She has last bottle at 7ish pm and then nothing til breakfast of fruit/cereal/milk/toast at 7.30 if we're at home or 8.45 if she's at nursery. i use jars when I'm out and she likes them. She gets them cold and thats not a problem!!

Shimmer · 12/08/2007 20:16

Hi all. Glad you can make it Lizz. Like you I also have a constant baby sidekick!

Vino Underwater shoot sounds fab! I've still not managed to take F swimming
Thats so good that Ellen goes from 7 til 7:30 ish between feeding. Freddie used to but for about the last month he's been waking round 4-5am for feeding. He always goes straight back down afterwards so it's not the end of the world, but i'd still love him to do 12 hours straight again

Wilkie the beetroot was from a jar not home made i'm afraid, mixed with apple and something else i can't remember. I usually give him pots of Plum baby food (here)when we go out and he loves them. I actually really think he likes it more than my cooking! I did make him a fish cassorole thing today though which he liked. It was actually a bit of a break through for me as i HATE fish and would normally avoid going anyway near it, but i managed to buy fresh fish and skin it and everything. Horray for me!

VinoRouge · 12/08/2007 21:43

I've not tried those plum jars yet shimmer, they do sound yummy though.

Dh and I have just been out looking at the outsides of houses we'd seen online. I know what I'll be dreaming about tonight! Gonna try to arrange some viewings. It felt odd not having Ellen with us, she's staying at my mums tonight and will be there tomorrow.

Wilkie I pmsl at thought of J with a can of stella and a necklace

Rgee - you been enjoying your garden in the sunshine???

geoRGEEweasley · 13/08/2007 07:36

Hi all.
I'm "working from home" today
Notice I've logged on to MN and not work....

Vino - garden is great. I'm awaiting a delivery of new garden furniture today (some time between 8am and 6pm) hence home working. But need to get a gazebo shade thing for lo.
BTW - you mentioned meet up on Thurs. Am sure you know it's Wednesday!

Wilkie - I've given fresh beetroot but cooked with other veg in a chicken casserole.

Anyone got any good recipes for me? I'd like to prepare/cook a couple of things on a weekend to freeze and defrost during the week, which both DH and lo can eat?

laughalot · 13/08/2007 09:16

Hi everyone hope you are all ok, we are fine busy bees as normal my ds decided to be a pita last night and dident go to sleep untill 10am very unlike him. Lauren is still being lazy and will not entertain crawling .

Wilkie · 13/08/2007 09:44

RGee - I have recipes for Spag bol, braised beef and cauli cheese which you could do and DH could eat too. If you want recipes I will email them to you.

Personally with the cauli cheese I would chuck in some extra bits for DHs portion i.e. bacon and leeks or something.

Had a lovely day at Mums. DH has found a business opportunity in their home town which I am excited about. Can't go into detail yet but fingers crossed.

J slept like an angel in the travel cot which was SUCH a nice change! He is normally a nightmare.

Just starting to plan all the bits for the christening and need to find an outfit although I did a thread on here and someone has done a link to this. What do you think or will he look a muppet?

OP posts:
geoRGEEweasley · 13/08/2007 11:33

Time for a coffee break methinks! Actually been a v productive morning.

Wilkie - that outfit looks really cute. Is it the braces you're worried about in terms of looking like a muppet? I don't think so, and anyway, the braces can be removed.
Would love the braised beef recipe. With spag bol, do you make as normal then and just puree?

Hiya Lal! No sign of Pippa crawling yet either. Each time I put her on her front to test her moving skills she just rolls over and looks at me in a 'I can't be arsed to move when you can bring me everything' way. Sure she's going to be a nailed on bum shuffler!

VinoRouge · 13/08/2007 12:03

Lunch break for vino - morning !

Wilkie - I like the outfit you linked to. Exciting about DH's business opp. Fingers crossed for you.

Rgee - yes I know meet up is on weds not thurs. Silly me ! Shall we meet on the train or outside Smiths?

Ellen crawls a bit, more like shuffling!

2Happy · 13/08/2007 14:30

Afternoon all. I haven't fallen off the planet, just life become a bit busier since going back to work .

Missed out on loads, can't remember it all, except congrats Auntie DH!

Nothing new here. ds2 still refuses to eat, except today mil gave him a packet baby rice thing - it was left over from ds1, miles out of date and I really wasn't going to bother with the bland, concrete, nasty stuff with ds2. Naturally, he yummed it down .

And I have no other news. Wow life is dull.

2Happy · 13/08/2007 14:31

Oh, and if you're looking for other recipes, April 07 hve a separate recipe thread here

geoRGEEweasley · 13/08/2007 14:47

Thanks 2Happy.
Work sure gets in the way of MN...

...unless you are working from home

Wilkie · 13/08/2007 15:50

What is your email RGee - I have two different ones for you

OP posts:
eandh · 13/08/2007 15:54

aaarghhhhh my new job keeps me to busy and I cant MN at work (well I am at the mo but am waiting to be connected to a conference call and listening to cheesy music whilst I hold) on the upside my office looks fab and I have labelled my folders and they are in alphabetical order and typed what feels like hundreds of letters/reports today

geoRGEEweasley · 13/08/2007 16:31

Eah - I never congratulated you on your new job. Sounds like things are going well with all your folders!!

Wilkie - just emailed you.

DH and lo just pulled into drive, gotta go!

Trinityrhino · 13/08/2007 16:33

gecko had some mashed potato and a pice of broccoli yesterday

she still isn't sleeping anymore than 2 hours at a time but hey ho
she is very smily and really wants to get moving but not managing crawling yet

LadyTophamHatt · 13/08/2007 19:19

Just popping in to say hello, have skimmed the thread but far too many posts to read it all.

Anyone want to fill me in on the goings on??

Whats the new job eah?

eandh · 13/08/2007 19:25

LTH Still at the bank and am still in my branch but am working for the Area Manager doing her diary/meetings/events/returns etc lots of organising/paperwork etc which I love doing (plus I get to do lots of files and labels etc and can have my neat freak part of me satisfied) also means I can be more flexible with my hours so if I want to swap days etc its not a problem as long a my work is done.

Put new photos on my profile - comments welcome

Well my mum has had a fun day Hattie been a bit whiney as she has thrush (mum took her to drs for me) and Ellie was fine till this afternoon but then got a temperature and been lethargic shes gone to bed but her face looks very red so keeping an eye on her, may be back to Drs tomorrow!

LadyTophamHatt · 13/08/2007 19:30

ohhh, when i worked i loved all the files and labels and stuff.

the stationary cupbaord was dream tea-break destination.

I've put loads of photos of all the little tophamhatts on my facebook thing...comments welcome there too

LadyTophamHatt · 13/08/2007 19:31

I love the one where they're in the same dresses EaH, I alway said I'd never dress mine the same but when you see thing that are the same in their sizes its so hard to resist.

eandh · 13/08/2007 19:34

eandh · 13/08/2007 19:36

love the pic of george in the sand on your profile looks very bemused

JodieG1 · 13/08/2007 20:14

Sorry I've not been around much lately, haven't even had a chance to read the messages as Ethan's been up late most nights. He got his first tooth through yesterday and it's been causing him to be really unsettled, up and down all night really. He has a couple more coming through as well so anticipating some more bad evenings/nights. It's weird as Caitlin and Morgan got teeth much later and I thought he'd be the same, feeding him should be fun now hehe.

He's standing up all the time now and starting to try to cruise along the furniture too lol.

Had problems with my car and with Morgan, off to the drs on Thur as I'm worried he has adhd. He seems to fit most symptoms and I'm at my wits end with him which is why I haven't been on during the day as well. He's harder work than Ethan is so I just hope we get somewhere with him.

Will try and catch up tomorrow.

LadyTophamHatt · 13/08/2007 20:17

hodie, what symptons do you see in him. I been wondering about DS1 because he is harder work then all the other puttogether. There are alot of thing that make me wonder if its something other than just him IYSWIM.

JodieG1 · 13/08/2007 20:50

LTH - there is so much but mainly he rarely listens and seems to not even hear when I ask him something, nothing wrong with his hearing either, totally ignores me. He's very impulsive and will run off at any chance, I always worry being out alone with them all as he really does just leg it and will not come back, even over roads so I have to be so careful and find it difficult going out alone with them in case he runs away. He never sits still, always running and jumping, climbing on things and generally never stops all day long. He barely sits down to eat, he's constantly up and down out of his chair and I have to ask him over and over to sit down. He's very noisy and cannot play quietly at all. I know boys are boisterous but he seems about 50 times more so than any boys I've seen and he's 4 in October. He's quite inattentive and and seems to find it extremely hard to do anything I ask him to, even picking up a toy from the floor is a big thing for him.

I think overall he worries me as he seems to very different from Caitlin and also for other young children that I see. He always promises not to run away and looks like he means it but can't seem to stop himself. He is a lovely boy though other than all that! He's very affectionate and caring but seems to have trouble controlling himself.

What about you?

Shimmer · 13/08/2007 21:27

Sounds like you've certainly got your hands full Jodie. Sorry you're having a hard time. Hope the docs is some help.

Love the new pics LTH and EAH! I took some good ones today as my mum bought F one of those ride-on car things from Mothercare today and he looked absolutely hysterical sitting on it being pushed round and pressing the horn! I'll try and get them loaded when i've got a few minutes.

RGee SWMNBN has some good recipes in her weaning book (which i think is actually quite good, so praps she's not all bad?!?). I bought the ingrediants for lamb hotpot and veggie shephards pie the other day, but havn't actually got round to making them yet, so can't comment on the taste. I can bring it on wednesday for you to have a flick though if you want.
