Cor blimey guvner it's quiet on here today!!!!!

Lizz - hope it fitted!! Carpet burns - put vaseline on his knees at night to stop them getting dry and sore. Works a treat.

UD - hope you are feeling better today and are ready to put Operation Zac into play.

EAH - Thank you sooooo much for the pjs. J looked absolutely adorable in them last night - even DH broke into a massive grin when he saw them on him.

RGee - carrots and potatos are easy to grow but not sure when you plant them.

DH - it was LTH who suggested putting a small amount of butter into each meal (no more than the size of a rubber on end of pencil IIRC)

Ummmmmm - can't remember any more personals.

J is good. Second tooth has broken through the gum. Has any LO's got top teeth yet? There is nothing to see on J. When do they come through (so I am prepared).

The boy is a ganet (sp) - he is now on 7 bloody cubes of food at each meal. Little trougher. Mind you he needs the energy cos he just bombs around constantly.

Has anyone else found their LO pooing more than normal?? I can smell the seventh poo of the day!!!

Also, had blood test for my knees which are still excruciating and it came back clear of arthritis (thank god) but I have anaemia which would explain me noding off ever 5 mins!!!!!!

MrsCarrot · 09/08/2007 16:42

Seven Poos!! One for each cube maybe

Lizzzombie · 09/08/2007 17:05

IT FITTED!
I have a wonderful new sofa! Which DJ lovingly christend with puke for me. Just like I christened my wonderful new carpet yesterday...with red paint. Oops. Bloody feature wall!
Wilks - 7 cubes per meal! How many meals does he have???? We have one per meal, and a dollop of baby food from a jar. Yes, I am a bad mother, I use baby food from a jar. But I mix in the home made slop too! I just can't be bothered exerting all that effort if he is not going to eat it, when I can buy a jar for 50p and not worry if he spits it out in my face. (new thing, this actual spitting is great fun!)

eandh · 09/08/2007 17:58

Hello

Liz - hurrah for sofa

wilkie - good news re knees and glad you love pj's hattie has her matching pink/white ones on tonight

Hattie has a fairly huge meal for each meal although have no idea how to measure it as 95% of time she has whatever we're having/had night before blended so no cubes etc, I'd imagine its about 10-15 of her spoons plus bread and butter plus yoghurts

We have had a great day been to leeds castle herefor the entire day with bf and her lo's the girls had loads of space to run and screech and play in the huge sandpit and small play area where they could play on their own (we avoided the huge wooden castle play area!). We took picnic and then there was a falcony display which they loved and I paid to let Ellie paint her own t-shirt its fab she painted her hands and put them on and lots of pink and purple squiggly lines and dots. Put sunlotion on the kids but both still have rosy cheeks and I have got burnt (arms and chest ) hattie in bed already as hardly napped and ellie is dozing on sofa so wont be long. Best thing was bf brother temps at castle so we have free entry all summer so going back next week as doesnt cost a penny.

Dragonhart · 09/08/2007 20:20

Urban- Thanks for the advice on my other thread. She refused her feed mid morning but had a massive lunch so guess I just follow her. Added cream to chicken caserole and she loved it. Luke always used to gag while eating his food, as I introduced each stage with purees. It did stop after a while but is rather scary. He would gobble it or stuff it down his neck when it was finger food and make himself puke. I started giving his milk feeds after his food to save all my hard work filling him with milk!

Carrot- hope f is ok

Rgee- Must be hard to adjust to a new routine. I love my routines and find it really unsettling when things change at first. Such a creature of habit!

Lizz- Hurray for the sofa and carpet!

Wilkie- He is a real greedy guts! Ruth seems to have just got the hang of things here. Although she has decided she does not want water

EAH- Sounds like a great day out. We were hand painting the other day and it was great fun. THought I might get one of those canvases and get DH, L, R and me to put hand prints all over it.

Wilkie · 09/08/2007 20:25

DH - J won't drink water either. Have bought some Cow and Gate juice which he loves!!!

OP posts:
laughalot · 09/08/2007 20:42

I want pjs eah

VinoRouge · 09/08/2007 20:56

Busy day for vino and ellen. Getting our house valued tomorrow so got to carry on tidying. Busy tomorrow then off to a wedding over the weekend.

Rgee - glad work is going ok

E&H - your day out sounds wicked

WIlkie - E has 6/7 cubes of food for her main meal, 4/5 for other meal and cereal/toast for brek plus 3 6oz bottles. I
m worried I'm feeding her too much. Stopped making ice-cubes now, new meals are just frozen in a tipperware box so its one big cube. She had boots apple crumble for pud tonight which was rather tasty !! She's stopped drinking water unless its from a bottle.

Shimmer · 09/08/2007 21:05

Hi all. I'll be there on Wednesday! Rgee, Vino, Eah is it just us 4 then?? Come on the rest of you!

Eah I remember going to Leeds castle when i was little. It's fab there! I really want to go again and it's not that far from here, but a bugger to get to without a car.

DH glad LOs feeding is going better. We're on 3 milk feeds a day now too. Does anyone do less than this? Whats the next feed to go down? He already has less in the aftrnoon than morning and evening, but not sure if i should be thinking about getting rid of this one yet or not.

DH Can't remeber if I said congratulations to your dsis yet or not... probably deserves to be said again anyway!!

Hows F doing MrsC??

Freddie hated water to start with, but I just kept on producing it every meal time and eventually he got used to it.

Good news about the new sofas Lizz!!

Sorry to hear about your problems UD. I totally sympathise with how horrible and fustrating it is to be skint. Anyway, hope your feeling a little better today.

Wilkie · 09/08/2007 21:27

Shimmer - J has just one bottle per day - 7oz in the evening

Bleaurgh.................DH has just come down having done a urine sample for the GP and pressed the bottle against my face so I could feel how warm his pee was. FFS!!!!! Is there no romance left in this world??????

OP posts:
Shimmer · 09/08/2007 22:28

Ahhhhhh GROSS!!!

1 bottle Freddie's always starving when he wakes up in the morning - does J have breakfast as soon as he wakes then? Does he need snacks between meals? F's lunch & tea tends to be about 5-6 hours apart. Not sure if he'd make it though without something in between.

Wilkie · 10/08/2007 09:04

Shimmer, J's day is as follows

7.30am breakfast
11.15am lunch
3.15pm tea
6.30pm 7oz bottle

He has juice inbetween and rice cakes, biscotti, maybe some bread and butter in between but in all honesty, his meals are so big that he doesn't seem to get hungry.

Don't worry though - all babies are totally different when it comes to feeding, my BFs DS is still having 3/4 bottles per day, breakfast and tea (no solid lunch).

HTH xx

Wilkie · 10/08/2007 19:18

WHERE IS EVERYONE?????

OP posts:
eandh · 10/08/2007 19:42

shimmer we are on 3ish bottles a day

6.30 - 7oz wake up bottle
8.00 - breakfast (creal and milk)
12.00 - lunch & yoghurt
1.00 - 7oz milk (then nap!)
4.30pm-dinner & yoghurt/pudding
6.00 - 7oz bottle

LAL they only had one pair of pink pj's or I would have got L some as well didnt think a would fit into 6-9months (they had load of blue ones!!)

Shimmer I agree re getting to leeds castle it is out in the sticks isnt it, although if you ever need a lift from train station let me know and I could take you as its about 10mins away from my house

Hattie was awake loads last night and had 3 poos (she has never pooed at night) not sure if its teeth as cant feel anything but MIL said her bum been very sore today so just plastered metanium on it but she is currently wide awake as MIL let her have a 45 minute nap from 4.45 to 5.30 when I got there to pick them up

theUrbanDryad · 10/08/2007 20:13

hey - i will be there on Wednesday after all! Zac's getting better with eating but his sleeping is still awful. was his first night in his own room last night and he woke every 2 hours. it was awful.

Lizzzombie · 10/08/2007 20:26

bored bored bored....come on...whoose on msn tonight?x

geoRGEEweasley · 11/08/2007 09:02

Morning!
God was sooo knackered last night, I was in bed at 8.20pm. Spent two hours after she'd gone to bed making about 30 meals for her. Am feeling like a single parent at the minute (anyone else get that feeling?) so have just spent some time this morning writing down all our morning and evening tasks to be divided up when DH returns from his stag do. Was peed off DH didn't even call yesterday. Both lo and I are mildly ill - I have had a sore throat for a week now, and P has had her first full on snot-on-tap cold.
Am I am chav to stop wiping her snot away every minuite and instead leave it to dry on her face?? I so used to hate seeing dried snot on kids. How times change

How are we all? Looking forward to Wednesday. Glad you are able to come after all UD. Anyone else? Do you know the weather forecast Shimmer?

EaH - never understood why Leeds castle was so called. It's down south!!

Vino - are you planning on moving?

Wilkie - am expecting top teeth any minute now. They've reached the bottom of her gum and just need to break through now.
BTW, your DH is v romantic!!! Warm piss - lovely!! Next time you're pg, you can get your own back!

Shimmer - Pippa is similar to EaH's feeding, with three bottles a day and three meals.
Dragon - how's the feeding 'operation fatten-up' going? Is lo eating a block of butter a day washed down with double cream?

Thinking of heading out to town later today. What shall I buy?

geoRGEEweasley · 11/08/2007 09:06

BTW, have just bought some more bargain stuff from Nursery and Toys
Their warehouse is closing down and have some good stuff on sale. Downside is p&p quite expensive, but worth a look.

Trinityrhino · 11/08/2007 09:07

hi all
I am feeling a little bit more positive today.
gecko settled at 9.30 and then didn't wake until 3.40am.... then again at 5.10 but thats ok

usually it every 1.5 or 2 hours so a huge improvement, fingers crossed for tonight

she isn't crawling yet but rolls over alllll the time, shes just turned 6 months should she be crawling by now, I can't remember

Shimmer · 11/08/2007 09:57

Morning. Glad you had a better night Trinity I don't think crawling's "normal" til around 8 months

Glad you can make it to London UD. Havent seen the forecast but it's been really hot here the last week, so i predict another scorcher

Lizz will you be joining us???

RGee I do occasionally have the feeling I may as well be a single parent as I do everything myself anyway! I'm running out of interesting recipes to cook for F, got any good ones? I've fed him a fewready madejars recently whenwe've been out and i think he's been enjoying the new flavours. He had beetroot for the 1st time yesterday

Does anyone know if its okay to give the LOs baked beans?

geoRGEEweasley · 11/08/2007 13:34

Shimmer, last week at nursery, she had pureed baked potato and baked beans. Think the beans were no added salt and sugar variety.
I loved roasted beetroot. Nom nom. Except your wee the next day.
She loves the Annabel recipe for apple, pear, raisin and cinnamon puree.

Trinity glad you had a better night.

Wilkie · 11/08/2007 16:09

Ola. Had a nice day so far - met up with another lovely MNer same age as me and with a LO 4 weeks younger than J. J performed all his tricks and puked all over her carpet for good measure

Not much to report other than it is fricking roasting and I am having hot flushes. J is crawling around with no top on (chavster baby - just needs a can of Stella in his hand and a heavy gold chain on his wrist and he's good to go...)

Beetroot - hmmmm, something I haven't tried with J. Do you give fresh or jarred?

Anyway, gotta dash as off to my mums in a bit and I need to get packed.

Lizzzombie · 11/08/2007 22:40

Hi Shimmer - I should be making it up on Wednesday. Went to visit sister in Kingston on Friday last week, and apart from standing the WHOLE way to Clapham from Eastbourne it was fine. Its really quite easy.
I'm bringing DJ with me though, I havent got a nursery or anything sorted out for him, so he is still my constant side kick. (had weird dream he climbed out of his cot and was walking around last night!)

Lizzzombie · 11/08/2007 22:41

Wilks - glad the other MNer was nice.
See we are not all freaky weirdos!!!!

theUrbanDryad · 12/08/2007 09:41

morning all - better night here. we went to Oxford yesterday for geeky comics thing and Zac screamed himself into a stupor on the way home, got him into bed about 9, then he woke at 2 for a big feed, and went straight back down till half 7! woo hoo! obviously i don't want to replicate those conditions every night, but i feel the real progress is that he went back down after his 2am feed! usually he falls asleep on me, then when i put him down in his cot he wakes up and starts crying, but not this time!
