www.villas-in-algarve.co.uk look under vilamoura the villa manuela thats were we are staying a week in june £ 820.00 for the villa then your flights on top bargain !!! I tell you a villa is the way forward as its your own space no other clampit families with there 6 kids splashing j in the pool. The may price is £ 660.00 which is brill I know im a travel agent but we always do a villa now its so handy when you have young kids if its not your thing then I still will look for you just wanted to give you some options. Had a bad thought though there is 6 golf courses in vilamoura mr wilkie will be happy !!!! Albuferia is another resort on portugal that is the busy resort though.

laughalot · 07/08/2007 16:23

Wilks my friend has come back from majorca the resort of cala egos she booked through owners direct look with them under advance search she has a little girl who was 1 in may she said it was a ideal resort.

Wilkie · 07/08/2007 16:42

Wow thanks for all info LAL. Vilamoura is where DH and I went on honeymoon this time last year - ahhhhhhhhh. It is nice but not enough to do in evening, just restaurants, not enough nice bars IMO (yes I know we will have children with us but am planning on finding nice bars where we can sit outside with children in the buggies - or is that a chavtastic thing to do?!?!?!?! )

Will have a good look through all info tonight when little man is in bed xxxxx

Aah wilks just the person then mate is there plenty of little supermarkets and that in vilamoura I need to know with us buying bits for the kids. We are about 2km from vilamoura marina so we have a fair walk but we dont mind. Please tell me there is a few bars . Try owners direct they are fab how about alcudia in majorca fab beach and loads of bars and resturants

laughalot · 07/08/2007 16:54

Was vilamoura expensive ? Sorry I know im the travel agent

eandh · 07/08/2007 16:59

eandh ponders whether LAL really is a travel agent or actually works for M15 and uses the travel agent job as an alias?

I can tell you all about travel insurance/car/home insurance or bank accounts but thats really not very interesting is it?

Lizzzombie · 07/08/2007 17:24

eah - its more interesting than telling someone if their tits look good or not!
mrs C - noooooo dont say that! I am so scared of that happening. Who takes the window out? & who puts it back in again? DP is at work all week so wont be here when they deliver it (prob a good thing) but I wouldnt know how to take a window out!

eandh · 07/08/2007 18:00

Lizz - I never thought mine would fit through teh door and they didnt, the dfs men took my door off and put it back on.

You've reminded me I must go and get remeasured as am having spillage out of the top of current bras not a good look

MrsCarrot · 07/08/2007 19:42

Oh, we didn't have to take the window out! We just opened it, it's a large victorian sash, was a squeeze though, had to sort of twist it on an angle. I'm sure those delivering it will help you won't they?

Dragonhart · 07/08/2007 21:12

Dsis had a little girl this morning at 9.30 called Amy. Soooo happy for them. She had to have a cs as her bp got so high this morning but she is doing well now and so is her dd.

Cant visit til friday though as los not allowed in and DH is working late til thu.

I want to visit the new baby

MrsCarrot · 07/08/2007 21:27

Congrats to your Dsis, Dragon, that's great news.

eandh · 08/08/2007 08:45

Congrats Auntie DH lovely name

Its funny weather here today warm but cloudy had a huge thunderstorm last night, Hattie slept through it but Ellie got up and asked what the noise was, I said it was outside and now she thinks it was next door neighbours lorry (he is a tnt driver and often pops home so she has seen his 'big' lorry as she calls it)

Sold my spare carseat on mn and the ladys fil is collecting it this morning as he lives fairly close by.

Currently Hattie sitting on her playnat bashing lots of toys together and Ellie in her playroom watching beebies (bad mummy!) and playing with her aquadraw mat, so I am having a quick 5 mins here then got to do some cleaning

Wilkie · 08/08/2007 08:52

Congratulations Auntie DH. Great news but pain you can't go till Friday.

Just off to Cleethorpes with BF today, just waiting for her to arrive. Chavtastic

My dad used to own three fish restaurants on the front so will be a trip down memory lane for me

How lovely Auntie DH !

Its a lovely day here, not too hot, this is the north after all, so no sweaty babies (or mummies) here !

My sister has just got a new 'friend' who is an ex marine. She e mailed me a team photo with him in it and they were all gorgeous .. I couldnt believe her luck ! but now 2 days later she tells me it was just a joke ... I'm so disappointed I really quite fancied having a chippendale as a BIL

VinoRouge · 08/08/2007 12:17

Well I just lost my message and control z didn't work. Annoying.

eandh · 08/08/2007 12:40

Dragonhart · 08/08/2007 15:51

Just had Ruth weighed for the first time in ages and she is only 14lbs7 at 7 months?! Is she the lightest baby in the Jan thread?! There was anothe girl there who was 1 week older than R and she looked about twice her size!

Told me to add callories to her food and try and cut out a feed in the morning so she is having 3 feeds a day. Does that sound right to everyone? Remember someone saying to add something to her food. Was it butter?

Anyway we are on operation Stuff Ruth for the rest of the week

theUrbanDryad · 08/08/2007 17:08

hi everyone - been having a bad couple of days here. posted under another name about how bad i was feeling, loads of good advice. we are so very skint though, we're supposed to be going to IL's next week for a bit of a break (they are away) and go from there to London as it's cheap, but I don't even know if we can afford the petrol down now! it's a nightmare as dh has a job interview in Bristol on Tues and i don't know if we can afford the petrol for him to go to it! argh!!

congrats on all the anniversaries, will be ours soon too, and congrats Auntie Dh on your new little neice (Urban tries to prove she's not desperately self-absorbed really!)

MrsCarrot · 08/08/2007 18:56

DH thinks he can't have next wednesday off either. I hadn't noticed for ages that the daye changed from 22nd to 13th and dc's are at an activity playscheme thing next week and I need to drop off/collect them if he's not here. I had said they could go to a museum or something so we might still go on 22nd. Hope you all have fun anyway.

Think F is coming down with something, he's very hot and has been asleep on me for the last couple of hours, very unlike him.

geoRGEEweasley · 08/08/2007 19:04

Aww .. congrats Auntie DH. Hope her bp is now under control.

Being back at work is....well....v bizarre. Been taken out for lunches and drinks, so not all bad. Three days later it's like I've not been away. Lo is loving nursery thankfully, but not sure whether to be miffed that she doesn't miss me
She is very snotty today (so, taken no time at all to pick up nursery bugs) and I have an annoying sore throat that I hope buggers off soon. DH is out watching cricket, and at a stag do this weekend. We had a row last night, which is really rare, but I was feeling shite and am feeling like I'm still doing everything for lo. I guess it'll take time to adjust to being back.

Got tomorrow off and visiting friend, then Friday is my day with lo. Hope to spend it in the sunshine in our new garden.
I have a small herb garden next to an empty bit for my veg patch. What veggies are easy to grow, low maintenance, and can be planted around now?

Looking forward to next Wednesday!

Lizzzombie · 09/08/2007 11:17

hi to everyone....
We have new carpet...its given LO carpet burns! Oops! New sofa arrives later on today.
I hope it fits
