Derlor...I've swaddled babyboo the last two nights and she's gone off to sleep quite happily by herself....just like you suggested doing ages ago. In fact tonight she lay and chuntered to herself for 20 mins before dropping off, and I think I can hear her now, but she isn't shouting so hopefully she'll drop off again.

I've also moved her into her own room. Not sure about that one though as by the time she'd woken me up through the night she was really awake and took ages to settle again. I think my bedroom isn't dark enough for her though.

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 21:04

thanks for the advice derlor xx

derlor · 25/07/2007 21:04

Foxy
you coping OK with your small football team?

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 21:05

Derlor, how does that work if the blocked duct is at the top of your boob...do you have to have your LO hanging over your shoulder in a fireman's lift?

derlor · 25/07/2007 21:06

oh thats great Daisy, glad to be of service
Baby derlor been in own room from day 1, it is right next to ours though so i can hear her when she starts to shout!!, you got a monitor?

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 21:07

i dont think dd likes the dark - turned the light off last night and she woke up and cried, put a nightlight on and she was peaceful and slept, in her basket for the first time, for 6 hours.

of course it was a one off ...

derlor · 25/07/2007 21:08

either that or stand on your head whilst feeding Daisy!!!!
No, feed lying down with baby's feet pointing to your own head, their tummy level with your face IYSWIM??

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 21:10

we are doing ok, thanks! so far, so good!

it is full-on, though, and i'm keeping on top of things. anticipating falling in a heap sometime in week 3

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 21:11

thats where it is, on top.

will try it later xx

derlor · 25/07/2007 21:12

NO, no, no Foxy someone of your experience, i'll give it at least till week 4 till you collapse in your heap!!!!!!

sunshineandshowers · 25/07/2007 21:12

thanks foxy

foxybrown · 25/07/2007 21:13

LOl!

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 21:13

Yup, monitor switched on although again she's right next door, but this house is surprisingly soundproof. My RL HV said that they should be in your bedroom for six months now as i reduces the incidence of SIDS??

I just hope I never get blocked ducts at the top, cos I just can't muster the whole feeding lying down thing....she just can't stay on.

derlor · 25/07/2007 21:13

hi sunshine >> or can we call you SAS!!??

derlor · 25/07/2007 21:16

yup 6 months is the new rule of thumb must say i'm very unconvinced re that piece of advice!!
thet's one i preach but certainly don't practice!

daisyandbabybootoo · 25/07/2007 21:26

Derlor...sorry I ignored you earlier, yes I am looking forward to our first family holiday together. I plan to sit on the quay painting watercolours of lovely fishing village/boats/seabirds with DD in the sling whist DH and DS potter about looking for fossils.

DH said why don't I just slap some grey wash on the paper now as greay and dull is all I'll be able to see anyway . Some people are just born miserable!

Hi Sunshine....glad your LO is feeding better...hopefully the sleep will follow!

derlor · 25/07/2007 21:33

flip Daisy that sounds impressive, closest i ever get to painting is during painty play with DD!!!

loonylovegood · 25/07/2007 21:35

I hate not having a laptop ! Sharing the pc is not very practical!

I am seriously hungry! Just ate the most mahoosive bowl of pasta and I'm still starving!

Your holiday sounds lovely daisy, I really hope it doesn't rain for you!

I am going to wait at least 6 months to put William in his own room. There is no way I am actually getting out of bed to do night feeds!! I do sound rather lazy now don't I?!

It could work out well if it does rain..I might get some lovely washy abstracts! It's also been so long since I did any painting that I think my tubes of paint are probably dried up.

Holly, I feel hungry about an hour after I've eaten. I find a large gin tempers the appetite somewhat ...now who was asking how to get their LO to sleep .

Just found this thread. If the idea takes off I can get rid of my post pg fat gear when I'm done with it!

loonylovegood · 25/07/2007 21:44

You could just squirt some paint on the paper and let the rain do the rest! Then you could sell them in some poncey gallery for mega bucks! Brilliant!

My bro does graffiti on canvas and flogs them on ebay! He gets loads for them!

loonylovegood · 25/07/2007 21:47

You mean it's not raining in scotland !

derlor · 25/07/2007 21:48
