TYG you are so wise can defo see a pattern in the 45 min sleep thing. He even does it in the buggy and I end up taking him out and giving him a cuddle as am mortified at the noise he makes even though I know I should leave him and after screaming and i mean screaming he will drop off again.

Could you please come round to my house and daytime nap train him.

Lucky devil with the Jimmy Choo shopping. I am off to NY end of Aug cant wait for a spot of shopping,

Got back home tonight after leaving Lincoln at 8am, 3 hours in the car to the cotswold animal park, we spent the whole day with some friends there then 2 hours in the car back home. On arrival at home at 6.30 cue 3 very grumpy tired children and one utterly exhausted mummy. The culmination of all sleeping in the same room with no blackout blinds and waking at 5.30 everyday for the last 4 days was sleep deprivation all round

TYG - I think you should write your own parenting manual, you seem to make much more sense than any I have ever read I too believe in letting babies cry themselves to sleep, difficult as it may seem sometimes, however with our hectic days there are few opportunities to put J in his bed during the day, so he often kips on the run. I found with dd that I often spent most of the day trying to get her to go to sleep or sleep longer if she woke up, with J I try to go with the flow a bit more and if he wakes I leave him for a bit to see if he will settle, if not then I pick him up and try and distract him to stop his crying, with dd I would keep trying to get her to go back to sleep. I totally agree that there is a window where you can tell they are tired and will go to sleep, I think it gets easier to spot the bigger they get.

Hey guys. Still no word from Scoot huh...really worried about her. I've sent 2 text messages and had no response. God I hope she and the family are ok

I've been reading with great interest your posts on sleeping. I feel awful cause Tilda is doing lots of napping on me or in our bed but doesn't often make it to her hammock. It's been a tough 10 days though cause I have thrush in my milk ducts and breastfeeding has been absolute agony for that time. Finally figured out what it was on the weekend and today managed to get my doc to give me a prescription for the stuff that will knock it on it's head. So I'm crossing everything that in 2 days we will have a feed where I'm not crying in pain. Poor Tild was starting to feed really badly cause she was picking up my pain and stress and last night I was so tense the milk wouldn't come out at all.

So once I've got that knocked on the head will start trying to get Tild into an evening routine where she sleeps in her hammock. You are indeed very wise TYG - will try the routine you do with A.

Hope everyone is very well

Tam

I too was thinking about Scoot last night, fingers crossed that there is a very straightforward explanation for her not posting..

Thanks to the wise words of TYG I did a dreamfeed at 10.45, it was pretty difficult to get him to latch on but I tickled his ears and it did the trick, he then slept til 3.45 and is still asleep now so that is a much better way round than waking at 1.30 and 4, I'll try it again tonight. Thank you oh wise one

twelveyeargap · 01/08/2007 09:30

I checked to see if the Scoots are in the phone book, but they don't seem to be. Her mobile doesn't really work at home...

Am worried now because even when Scoot was ill in bed, she was still online...

Oh fingers crossed they've buggered off somewhere for the summer and she's not told us.

twelveyeargap · 01/08/2007 09:34

I wonder did they move house?

I'm away tomorrow to Tuesday and then again Sat 11th to Sat 18th. Just in case you're wondering.

cameroonmama · 01/08/2007 13:32

I was thinking the same thing TYG, its highly likely they are in the middle of moving house.

Are you going anywhere nice??

Tam sorry about the thrush, I had it too in the first month. It clears up quickly and helps if you can walk around bra-less and give the norks a good airing (I had to make sure it wasn't the postie's delivery time or he would have had a hell of an eyeful )

We have been on the bus this morning from the next town after dropping the car for a service, the dc were sooo excited - see how easy it is to keep them entertained on school holidays

J is currently asleep in his bed - amazing! He can manage about 1.5 to 2 hrs between sleeps and so I kept an eye out for his first peep and popped him straight up to bed with a tiny milk top up and he went straight off with not a sound. Today is a good day

madeindevon2 · 01/08/2007 13:58

is scoot moving house already? seems like only yesterday she was tidying for people looking round the place.

madeindevon2 · 01/08/2007 13:59

i dont post regularly enough for my absense to be noted but i wont be online for most of this month. going to other house that doesnt have land line let alone internet!!

madeindevon2 · 01/08/2007 14:22

what happens to stretch marks in the sun by the way!? do they get worse or better?
ive had to buy a swim costume and tankini for hols for 2 reasons.....flabby AND very lined tummy...
also needed more support for the massive mammories....gone are they days of triangle bikinis me thinks....having to get ones like my mum with inbuilt support!!!

MKG · 02/08/2007 01:45

O.K. where did everyone go?

charleymouse · 02/08/2007 09:59

Morning all, hope you are all okay. Have been lurking but not get the time to do a proper post yet. Think DH will abandon us all if I don't get on top of this dump we are living in. So housework day today for me. I just seem to get overwhelmed by it all and it never seems to improve. I am a closet hoarder though which will have to stop. STOP I say. I will declutter, honest. Right that is me motivated, hopefully will be able to sneak back on for a proper post when G (who now weighs 8lb 10oz) is feeding.
Happy holidays to all those away at the minute. Take care
CM

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 10:01

cinnamontam · 02/08/2007 11:09

Hey guys - welcome back

Congrats Lillura. Love the little yellow dress she is wearing in the pic. She is just beautiful.

MID - I have no idea about the stretchmarks...hoping someone else will have a clue. Are you going somewhere on holiday for this month?

CM - great weight for G. Well done you two

Thanks Cam. I'm still waiting for the pills to kick in as it's just as painful now as it was when i started taking them Tues arvo. Might do the walking around braless bit. That will help DH concentrate on work I'm sure as he's now working from home in the new job. Heh heh

Love to everyone else

Scoot...yoo hoo... where are you?

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 11:10

thank you - whats the question about stretchmarks hun?? after two kids and plenty of stretch marks i may be able to help

Pebblemum · 02/08/2007 11:15

Belated congratulations Laura and welcome to the world Libby-Jane (lovely name)Glad you finally found us although its very quiet on here at the moment.

I had Alana weighed yesterday and she is now a meaty 10lb 11oz at 10weeks old

She is still sleeping really well at night, normally from 8.30pm-7am but last night she had her last feed at 7.45pm although she didnt settle until 10pm and she slept right through until 9.30am. I had a shock when i looked at the clock , so much for me getting up early to do the great big pile of washing that seems to have built up again it was nice having a lie in though

My mum has had her sister down from Lincoln for the past two weeks which has been really nice, the last time i saw her was at my wedding 5yrs ago. My parents are taking her home tomorrow and have decided to take ds1. It will seem strange without him but im sure he will have a great time, seeing all his cousins and my brother. He will be back Sunday evening, poor ds2 will be lost without his big brother to argue with lol

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 11:23

thanks pebble ill get you all chatting again lol - alana is gorgeous well done and congrats hun, libby-jaine is only 10lb 6 oz at 13 weeks !!!!! but then she was tiny at birth so she is doing well xx my bedroom has turned into mount clean washing and my bathroom is mount needstobewashed lol im doing all housework today as the weather isnt great today ugh!

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 11:25

just realised that they are not very good pics i have put on there - bk soon going to add more

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 11:30

thats better - done now lol

Pebblemum · 02/08/2007 12:09

Great pics, for some reason im having trouble adding more to mine but then again everytime i attempt it one of the kids decides they want something and I get distracted . Alana has changed so much since she was born and the weeks are going by too quickly,it feels as though she wont be a baby much longer IYKWIM

We have the fun task of getting her passport pics done soon lol, not that she will look anything like she does now in two months time let alone 5yrs

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 12:15

look forward to seeing more pics when u put them on, IKWYM about the time going so quickly and not being babys for long soon they will be sitting and playing and eating and well not needing long cudles as often boooohooooo .. and also bout the passport we have to get all three of ours a passport done tahtll be funny

Pebblemum · 02/08/2007 12:39

Its soooo expensive for passports isnt it? Luckily both boys have theirs although ds1's runs out next year i think. We got them all at different times so we dont have to renew them together otherwise it works out too much in one go

My washing bucket is empty for 5mins lol. The last load has just finished but just as i went to hang it out it started spitting with rain Dont want to tumble it if it can be helped so do i risk hanging it out in the hope it was just a quick drizzle (its stopped now) or shall i play it safe, decisions decisions, whatever i do will be the wrong one lol. Dont mind the washing part but i hate the ironing bit, hence the great big pile waiting for the ironing fairy to do it for me, so far though she hasnt appeared andits still all there, and the piles getting bigger

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 12:51

do what i do hun check weather for your postcose on bbc weather site then u will know ,,,,,,,,,,, WASHING BASKET EMPTY!!!! mine hasnt been empy for 13 weeks lol
as for passports dd1 and ds and dd2 have never had one neither have i , dh runs out in july!!! and we are away to manorca in may so gna cost a bomb

lillaura123 · 02/08/2007 12:52

i mean dh ran out in july so thats 5 we need

cinnamontam · 02/08/2007 13:39

I got 3 loads done and dried on the line yesterday. They smell so good

Have just updated my profile with 2 new pics of Tild. I can't believe how much she has grown. 10 weeks old today, 62 cm long and weighing in at a not so delicate 11 pounds 8 ounces. Despite the thrush she is still feeding like a demon. I spend most of my days hanging out with her and her chatting and cooing is just heart melting. She started singing along with me last night. Long drawn out coo's - not quite on pitch but I'm sure she'll get there
