Lovely to see absent friends on here, GW (You fooled me not for an instant ) and PinkJenny. Please post more, neglect is allowed in babies over 7 weeks you know. At least i hope so as Harry Potter is getting most of my attention. Im with you April on the 'dont they know how important it is'

DH is indeed home and we have been very busy......packing The car is pretty much ready. Of course this morning it is pissing it down, FFS.

We had the inlaws decsend yesterday and my friend from Weston with her 3 boys and very cute little baby bump ( i had bump )DH counted up the meals we had done and it was around 25!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im just catching up and posting before we camp for the week. We return on Friday (dd birthday) and dh has agreed for some of his rellies to come over at 2pm! Gagh! We then have to turn the washing round andget the car packed up for the kids to all go and stay with their Dad next week. Not good timming for visitors.........

Am off to see to squealing Beau, his new thing, along with huge grins and blowing bubbles at me. I want another, they are sooooooo cute

Scoot hope you are ok. Someone text me if there as any ground breaking gossip please. Wish i could take a lap top > Will miss you all.

Happy camping LG&T. I am sure we can manage to keep you up to date

Hello Pinkjenny, glad you are both doing well.

Well at least with all this rain we dont have to worry about watering the lawn

AbbyLou · 23/07/2007 18:14

Thanks MKG for pointing me in thge direction of this new thread. I was beginning to wonder if everyone was SO engrossed in HP they couldn't come on!
I haven't got it yet, I want to re-read the last one first as I can't remember what happened.

Pebblemum · 23/07/2007 22:29

Evening all

Havent been around as we have either been out or ive had my nose stuck in the Harry Potter book. Poor ds1 queued up for over 2hrs to get it at midnight and he has only had chance to read the first 15 pages Everytime he goes to read it Ive already got it lol. Usually I would have read the whole thing within a few hours but that was before Alana came along, now just as I get into it she seems to wake up or want attention, how selfish is that lol.

Im now about to grab a nice glass of wine and settle down to, hopefully, finish it

twelveyeargap · 24/07/2007 08:45

Hello. Was staying with the in-laws over the weekend. MIL planned a family barbecue months ago. Shame it was freezing cold and miserable on the day.

A was completely over-stimulated the whole time. It was murder trying to get her to sleep at all, but she was quite good in that she didn't cry. She just looked slightly deranged with her starey eyes. Got the train up and back, which made life a lot easier. Had three seats at a table booked on the way back and some bloke that got on at the same station as us, bloody insisted on sitting in the (unreserved) seat opposite me, despite the fact that half the train was empty. I had the baby in her car seat on my lap, wedged between me and the table for the whole 2 hour journey. Was a muppet. There were tons of other seats - even ones where he could have had two seats to himself. If I were him, I would have moved and offered the spare seat at the table to the baby. I pointedly asked DH about our family railcard and would it be expensive to reserve a seat for the baby, but yer man didn't take the hint. Tch. Anyway, at least she slept all the way. It made it easier, but if she'd needed feeding, I think for once I would have made a big ostentatious performance out of it to see if I could embarrass him away from the table.

twelveyeargap · 24/07/2007 08:48

Oh and I wanted to ask about the 6/8 week checks you all had. Did anyone/ everyone get an internal exam? I didn't, and I'm sure I did with DD1. Not that I particularly want an internal, but I thought they are supposed to check that your uterus or bladder haven't prolapsed.

I've got an ache in the abdominal muscles just above my pelvic bone - as though I've done too many of those leg raise exercise for your lower abs. (Of course, I haven't done anything of the sort.) Made me wonder, that's all...

juliewoolie · 24/07/2007 09:11

Hi TYG,

I too was wondering about the 6 wk check as I went with A last week fully expecting to be asked how I was feeling, stiches ok have we resumed sex has the bleeding stopped etc. The doctor asked nothing about myself and now - sorry if TMI but we have had sex a few times but after yesterday I started to bleed hardly anything atall but bright red. Now not sure if this is normal or should I get it checked??

What a pain about bloke on train the only word I can think of for someone like that is Tw**.

aprilmeadow · 24/07/2007 09:57

Morning

I didnt get an internal at my 6wk check, although was very worried at the thought of having one.

Have FINISHED my Harry Potter book! Wow wow wow. Brilliant is all i am going to say!

bumperlicious · 24/07/2007 10:13

hi all, just popping in from the june thread to say love the title! can totally empathise except it's sleep or a shower (at least it would be if we had any water!)

hope you are all doing ok and enjoying your LOs.

Pebblemum · 24/07/2007 12:20

AM Ive finished mine too ds1 can now read it to his hearts content without me pinching it back lol.

Alana is a little princess, all she does when she is awake is smile and gurgle, shame the same cant be said for my ds's. Al they seem to do is bicker and argue. If one goes out without the other they moan but if they are both in the same room they dont get on for more than 5mins at a time Im dreading 6wks of it especially if they have to stay in because of the weather. Also ds2 is at the 100 questions stage. Everytime he talks to you its a question and then once you have answered that one he asks another or its why?, what for? Aaargh its driving me mad!!

Ive already got grey hair, i'll have a bald head by the time they go back to school where ive pulled it all out

Pebblemum · 24/07/2007 12:23

By the way i didnt get an internal either, she didnt even feel my tummy although saying that neither did the midwives when they visited after i'd had Alana yet they always did with the others

Mrsjaffabiffa · 24/07/2007 12:41

Bet our sleepy eyes and jelly bellys I'll get one.

MKG · 24/07/2007 17:32

I got an internal at my 6 week checkup. Not too bad, just very quick to make sure my uterus was back where it should be, and also to make sure I was all healed up down there.

Cruz has his 2 month check today. I can't believe it's been two months already. I have to say I miss scrolling down and not being in the "ante-natal" category anymore I'll be sure to update everyone on his progress.

I hope everyone is ok with the flooding. I don't know where everyone lives, but I see footage of women being wisked out of windows by helicopters and I think "there goes scooter". My thoughts are with you all.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 24/07/2007 18:05

Talking of scoot. Anyone have a mobile no. for her? I'm getting a bit concerned now, it's been a while and I don't think she's been on since before she was diagnosed with retained placenta.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 24/07/2007 18:29
aprilmeadow · 24/07/2007 18:46

Helloooooooo MrsJB

Well i think Ella has the Pox now. She has 3 spots, 1 on her forehead and one above and below her mouth At least if it is then she will be ok in time for holiday next monday.

Now that HP is finished, which by the way i am gutted about, i can get back to being a housewife. The ironing pile has been ignored whilst i have had my in the book and there is no hiding from it now. Only 7 loads of washing to get through

Bought a Phil & Ted car seat that turns the buggy into a travel system. It's great, so much easier being able to lift Ella in and out the car without waking her. She was previously in a big britax car seat rear facing. Didnt realise that they did one and it was only because dh spotted someone with one on Sunday that i started looking for it.

Jack is looking loads better and all spots are dried out now, so back to nursery tomorrow WOOHOO

Mrsjaffabiffa · 24/07/2007 19:16

arrr poor Ella. At least she won't scratch. Hopefully they will be mild.

LWandLottie · 24/07/2007 19:39

Hey hey

Having fabulous weather here at the mo, today and yesterday has been t-shirt and skirt type weather. Find it hard to believe that half of poor England is under water when it's so hot here, very strange!

Had Charlotte weighed today at the clinic and she is now 10lbs 11oz! My little chubster. Have started my diet again and am eating well and getting out walking lots, think positive thoughts LW!

Have been doing some selling on ebay for the first time, bit scary. Cause I'm sharing a room with Charlotte it's quite full - double bed, 2 wardrobes, chest of drawers, baby changing unit, moses basket.... Needed some space so have put on my maternity clothes and C's newborn clothes that now don't fit. I was looking at all her stuff earlier and I already have enough stuff to kit her out in 3-6 months, and am fairly packed up for 6-9 months too! Not to mention the wardrobe jam packed with her 0-3 month stuff, she's only ever in an outfit once, before I need to get her into something else before she grows out of it. I like to shop

Re internals, I had one. Asked for one infact because I was worried my stitches hadn't dissolved properly (they had). She also decided, much to my surprise to check everything was ok the other end as well! We had words is all I can say, I'm still deeply scared from the memories and will never be able to look that doctor in the eye ever again!

Taking Lottie to baby massage tommorrow which I'm looking forward to. Hope she's ok though during it, she's been dead wingy the past couple of days and will not be put down! Little diva wants carries, EVERYWHERE! Am still feeling a little bit broody, and am definitley wanting another baby. Not now mind! Just hav to find the porr sod who's conna contribute

LWandLottie · 24/07/2007 19:43

My god could my spelling have been any worse there! That's what happens when you've got a stroppy, screaming baby wriggling in your arms as you attempt to type.

Harry potter very good, not finished though due to someone's constant crying

AbbyLou · 24/07/2007 20:36

Oh my god, an 11 week old whinger and a potty training 2.5 year old. Save me from this hell someone....

aprilmeadow · 24/07/2007 23:45

AL - Noooooooooooo. I have that delight to come, however nursery will help me out. Had hoped to do it in the 'summer' not much chance of it arriving anytime soon so have decided to wait til we get back from France and then do it.

Just spent 3 hours working my way through 6 loads worth of ironing. Legs are knackered now!

Hi LW&L, its been quite nice down here today as well. Glad that you are both doing well. Have fun with ebay, it gets very addictive........

MKG · 25/07/2007 03:04

Hey everyone. Aprilmeadow I don't know how you iron all that. I don't iron at all. None of my clothes need it, and I purposely buy clothes that don't. I refuse to do it.

Anyway, Cruz had his checkup today and the little guy has grown 2.5 inches and has put on 3 pounds since birth. so I have a 10 lb 12 oz and 23 inch bundle of love. He took his shots well and has slept all afternoon and evening.

aprilmeadow · 25/07/2007 07:09

I do try and buy things that dont require ironing, we used to just iron as we go but i was getting fed up with not having any ironed clothes and also some of the kiddies clothes looked really swrewed up. I figured that i dont have much else to be getting on with so i may as well iron. Think dh is hoping that i get into cleaning and keeping the house looking nice as well!

MKG, Cruz sounds like he is doing brilliantly.

Just been into feed Ella and no sign of anymore spots thankfully. Just hoping that they were heat spots rather than the pox.

AbbyLou · 25/07/2007 08:38

Oh god I'm the opposite on ironing, I can't bear things not to be ironed. I'm really anal about it. It's only since I had Ruby and acquired another load of clothes that I've stopped ironing vests and sleepsuits.
Well Day 2 in hte Big Brother House of potty training has begun. So far so good, one big wee on the potty. I wonder what the rest of the day will bring? It looks like we'll be in all day, it's pouring with rain again!
