Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
AbbyLou · 21/08/2007 08:29

Good morning all.
I'm another baby poker - I do it all the time. I have to put my hand on R's tummy every time I go upstairs if I can't hear her breathing! I still have to check C a couple of times a night too.
Well I had an awful night's sleep last night, nothing to do with the kids however. I have been having a lot of pain in my shoulder for a while now and finally got round to going to the drs yesterday. It was dx as tendonitis and I had to have a steroid injection into it yesterday. Just as the dr said it felt better straight away and then KILLED all through the night. It feels a little less painful this morning, let's hope it works after all this.
I think R will be joining the rolling club soon. Every time I go to get her up now she is the wrong way round in her cot! She uses the bars to scoot round and ends up width ways with her feet through the bars looking very pleased with herself. I have to take her to the hospital today to have the ultrasound on her clicky hip. I'm hoping there is nothing wrong and it's just that she's got clicky joints like her mummy!

SKYTVADDICT · 21/08/2007 09:28

Good luck with the ultrasound AL and I hope your shoulder feels better soon.

I am currently waiting for C to go to sleep so I can start DD2s room. My mum is coming down to look after him while I do it bless her.

largeginandtonic · 21/08/2007 11:03

Poor you Lups with A's scare! The twins were on all manor of machines in hospital and even apnoea monitors right before they came home. I had assumed they would let me borrow some for a while and was horrified to discover i had to go cold turkey! Sam was ok as he was still on oxygen so had sats monitors and i could check him just by looking at the monitor but Jacob had nothing! They prodded pretty much night and day!!!

Sky good luck with the room, i avoid the twins room now, far too scary! I know what you mean about the shoes too, clarks sale is my friend. I tend to buy shoes for then and the next size up!

A HUGE thankyou to Scoot who sent me a card and an accesorise voucher! I just love accessorise and need to get a turquoise necklace\earings for this wedding soon. Fab, sweetie xxxx

Have a mountain of washing to do and the house looks like a state. I had 5 extra for tea last night as my lovely neighbour came over in the afternoon with a cake! She had all the kids make it in her house and came over candles ablaze and everything singing "happy birthday". So sweet of her, i can only imagine what her kitchen looks like, she has 3 boys! My other friend dropped by too with flowers and wine so hers stayed for tea too. It was a vat of spag bol and pasta on offer.

Im trying to catch up today, have eye appointments for Jonah and Hugs at 1145 so better get a move on. Im still in jammas

juliewoolie · 21/08/2007 11:22

I know exactly what you mean, everytime A goes to sleep within 30 mins I am in there checking to see if his chest is rising. I am reliably informed that every mother does it and it does not mean you are a loon as my DP says when he sees me checking on A.

Good luck with the tidying Sky.

LG&T are you mad by my reckoning you had 11 kids for tea.

Couple of questions for you, A is now 11 wks and for some reason this morning my boobs have gone all soft and doughy like does this happen or is there probs with my milk?

Also had some spotting is this AF returning only lasted a couple of days and has now gone again?

Have a lovely day all - god this weather is shocking so much for a summer spent wandering around looking glam and summery like while pushing the buggy.

SKYTVADDICT · 21/08/2007 14:49

Jw - my boobs are soft and doughy most of the time - I think its just your body settling to supply and demand which C has completely messed up for me this week by feeding in the night!

I expressed 2.5oz this morning and plan to do this most mornings. He is going to DPs sister tomorrow and will go after his 10am (ish) feed with a bottle of ebm and hopefully not come home until 3ish. I think its good for him (and for me ) to be with other people and they love him to bits.

I have finished DD2s room - it was as bad as expected and embarrasingly dusty. I have even sorted all the CDs I found in there without boxes and sorted the ones downstairs so they are all in the correct boxes. Having 2 less children seems to have given me so much more time.

I found the shoes and don't really think she can use them. I have cleaned them and will have to think about it. In an ideal world, where we had money coming out of our ears, she would have everything new as she is going to a girls high school (having passed her 11+) and I think there will be lots of monied children there!

largeginandtonic · 21/08/2007 16:17

i just spoke the Charleymouse! She sounds great and little George is not so little....9lb 12oz now! All is well and George just had his last set of jabs, way ahead of Beau who has only managed his 1st set!

Im so bored, the kids are bored too. May take them out for fish and chips for tea. It is bloody cold here, normally im throwing the windows open but today i have been shutting them. Oh where is the lovely sun?

I too have doughy boobs now, it is rare i get the full firm feeling i had in the begining. Soon i will be back to flapping envelopes in the breeze....

LWandLottie · 21/08/2007 16:41

Hello

LG&T HAPPY 30TH BIRTHDAY! Sorry it's late

What a flippin mental couple of days. Exam went well, I think. Which probably means I've failed lol. Have come back and Ellie (little sister) is in floods of tears because the girls at school are STILL bullying her. Had to meet her for lunch as they all left her and I think she was worried they'd attack her or something. Donned my heaviest eyeliner just in case I had to shell out some extra evil looks!

Met her, she was shaky and quiet and didn't want to go back to school so I've kept her home with me and Charlotte. Have since spent the rest of the afternoon yelling at teachers from her school who gave me the response of 'Oh, it's just teenage girls being silly!' She didn't leave the house during the summer holidays unless it was with me or my mum, had no friends over for her Birthday which again, she spent with me and my mum, and gets really anxious whenever in town, and she's being silly? She's been made to feel bloody miserable! She wont go out! She's getting worse by the day and now she's so worried and in a panic about it all that she's stopped eating. I explained this to them, not very calmly and I think they've had a word with the girl responsible. It's made me shake with anger the way the school's going on! Anti-bullying my arse!

Lupins71 · 21/08/2007 19:59

Thanks all re A's scare, It was hardly anywhere near as scary as when Willow had her febrile convultion and stopped breathing and went blue and floppy - worse - well almost - moment of my life, LGT how scary especially if they had been so ill,

I have just managed to squeeze into my suit - altho better not take the jacket off dp will be waiting for me at KK with the little ones, so will be able to undo the button then hehehehe

LW&W how horrible for you sister - cant believe people are horrid enough to bully other people, well i can but there is so no need for it, why cant everyone be nice to each other (hmmm sounding like a hippy!!, hope the exams went well

On the doughy boob conversation - its fair to say i have always had more than my fair share - however they have never looked so flippin awful - think it was all that crazy expressing i had to do when he was in hospital, dont like to admit this but i can actually fold them over now how awful, i have never thought i would have a boob job but if i won alot of money i would certainly put one on my shopping list

Glad not so little George is doing well

Right off to out dd to bed before i scream at her

Bensonbluebird · 21/08/2007 20:04

April, DS is 2.7 now (was 2.6 when we started potty training). He was ready ages ago, always told me when he was having a poo since before he was 2, but I chickened out of doing it when I was really busy before DS2 was born. The pants I have are size 2-3 years. Send your address to alisondotdykeattalk21.com and I'll send you some if you like.

It has been going really well, one accident today when I was getting DS2 ready for a nap, then the phone rang then the Tesco delivery arrived and DS2 woke up!

scootermum · 21/08/2007 20:51

Hi all,

Not caught up yet properly..suffice to say I am ruddy knackered but had an awesome weekend..back is totally cricked now however due to a combination of sleeping on the floor of a tent, (forgot air bag) and jumping up and down at all the bands..Oh my word, The Killers were so good I cried, (and it was nothing to do with the fact that I was ever so slightly drunk)

Anyway will have a proper catch up tomorrow..hope all are well..

largeginandtonic · 21/08/2007 21:27

at the you seeing the killers Scoot.....

Im tired, so tired, must go to bed. Easier said than done with 2 still awake!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 21/08/2007 21:32

Hi lovelys,

Glad you had a good time scoot.

Well done LW on your exam, sure you did well.

Having a bad day here.

I have just had some very sad news. it has been hanging over us for a while and I haven't mentioned it before as we were hoping all would be fine but it's not. One of my Bf here is very poorly She had a orange size mass removed from her liver about 8 weeks ago, the professer was hopeful that it was begnin but had warned her that if it wasn't it was a very rare aggressive form of cancer. The results finally came today and it was bad news. We are all very gutted, she is such a wonderful person and I feel desparately upsett and worried for her. She is strong and I know that she will cope with the treatments to follow but she is bricking it. She is 33 has 3 boys under 6, a useless partner but she does have a wonderful family out here to help her. I managed to hold it together on the phone this evening to her but then put the phone down and burst into tears, WHY???? Life is not fair, it deals such crap to the best people........... She is so scared of being so sick and loosing her hair etc...... I can't believe it has come to this, we were all so positive it would be ok and now we don't know. I just hope she has the fight in her.

Sorry, I needed to tell you all though!

largeginandtonic · 21/08/2007 21:38

Oh MrsJB..... your poor friend. I really hope she will be ok, treatment has come so far now for cancer im sure it will be ok. As long as she has friends and family round her that is the most important thing. Keep us posted and lots of love to you. It makes you realise how lucky we all are.

Lupins71 · 21/08/2007 21:48

Scoot glad tou had a great weekend - now go and rest up!! (shakes finger)

MJB sending you lots of positive vibes for your friend, life is toooo unfair sometimes, big hugs to you and we are here if you need us

Arghhhhhhhhh I have just cleared out Arlen 0-3 and then put in his 3-6 into the wardobe had to shift loads of stuff around (blaming you AM, but thankyou really!!)

Just spoke to my cousin who is now 20 wks, where has the time gone, she has been told its a little girl!! yipeeee, kind of think she may have wanted a boy because of the tone of voice - but that could just be cos she has been really poorly most of the pg and is already thoroughly fed up = I did warn her if it was a girl she would suffer, anyway have built up a huge pile of stuff for her already, sleepsuits, vests, bath, t&t bowl, sheets blah blah blah!!! ohhh feeling all excited about this little one

Right off to continue the big sort out - my god my ebay fees are going to be huge, thats if i ever get the time to sell it all - oh just sold my micralite - just the loola to go woo hooo!!

SuperMonkey · 21/08/2007 21:53

Hey - hope nobody minds me joining in here, relatively new to MN and a May mum.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 21/08/2007 22:12

Hi supermonkey, welcome to the thread, join away, we are a bit chatty, mad, tired, etc, etc..........

Congratulations on your May baby, definately the best month to be born.

Boy/ Girl?

Mrsjaffabiffa · 21/08/2007 22:13

oh thanks Lups..... I'm sure I'll be bending your ears over the next few months, think they are going to be tough!

SuperMonkey · 21/08/2007 22:14

Boy - Seth - bit of a monster. I'm emptying out the 3-6 months and filling up with 6-12 months.

juliewoolie · 21/08/2007 22:18

MrsJB so sorry thinking of you what an awful thing to happen.

Welcome supermonkey.

Thanks on the playdough boobs I just assumed they would stay like bowling balls until I had finished feeding - oh well they were nice while they lasted.

Scoot am so of you at V my BF was there and she said it was fab although she did end up with trench foot from all the rain.

Update on my weird is it AF or not. It has been suggested to me that I might be up the duff again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Am hot footing it down to boots first thing.

LG&T forgot to wish you many happy returns being 30 is not that bad I have had more funand excitment in my life since turning 30 than I had in the whole of my 20's.

SuperMonkey · 21/08/2007 22:24

Yep, playdough boobs, to the extent that I was wondering whether the milk had gone. He's also feeding in about half the time he used to - all done in about 15 minutes, none of this '20 minutes on each side' business. Might go and get him weighed to be sure.

Lupins71 · 21/08/2007 22:39

Hello Supermonkey, Welcome to our thread - were a chatty friendly bunch and we like chocolate and donuts

MJB My ears are made of rubber lol!!

Lupins71 · 21/08/2007 22:41

Supermonkey - dont forget that he will have become more efficient at feeding that could be it - my little guy was 2 months early thats why altho he's nearly 5 months we are just doing 3-6 lol, bless him

Pebblemum · 21/08/2007 23:52

Aaarrrgggh having a nightmare with ebay. Have spent the entire day having a mass clearout and taking pics, transfered them to the pc only to find that when i tried to upload them to my listings they wouldnt work. It kept saying they weren't a recognised type but they are jpg/jpeg which ebay states is ok. I have tried everything and it still wont work. Am now very fed up, feel like ive wasted the whole day. Was hoping to take advantage of the half price listings tomorrow.

Think i may give up and go to bed

Pebblemum · 21/08/2007 23:54

Meant to say welcome Supermonkey and congrats on the birth of Seb (bit belated i know lol)
