Hoping the weather is not too bad to tomorrow, not only for Scoot but also because we are off to Brands Hatch for the British Touring Cars. I havent been to a single race this year that hasnt been wet!

Roly mo (aka Ella) has gone to bed with a rolled up blanket either side of her, in the hope of stopping her rolling onto her front in the night. She was really laughing this afternoon - it was soo cute. Ds was making her laugh as well. They both really love each other which is nice, ds hates it when she cries and will go over to her and say 'sssh sssh sssh' and then starts singing baa baa black sheep to her. I also catch her watching him and she will follow him round the room.

I hope you all have a lovely day tomorrow.

Pebblemum · 18/08/2007 23:16

AM Have a nice time tomorrow, im sure you will enjoy yourself no matter the weather.

My boys have a close bond with Alana too although ds2 seems closer, i assume its because he is around her more (ds1 prefers to go out most of the time). Only problem is ds2 keeps wanting to kiss her all the time and because ds1 is older (10yrs) and he has been trusted to pick her up now and again he thinks that everytime she is awake that she needs picking up which is annoying. I admit i prefer the fact they love her and dont resent her IFKWIM but the poor girl only gets peace when they are both out to play or in bed lol

Hello from a rather sleepy LW!

Just a quick post, haven't had a chance to read the latest so hope all of you and babes are all ok. Am just about to crawl, yes CRAWL into bed, though I need to be up in one and a half hours! I'm crying hysterically through sleep deprivation right now if you can't hear me!

Have been hitting the books today as I have my first of two exams on Monday. I'm flying down to Bristol tomorrow morning, flight from Glasgow leaves at 9:10am - GAH! Have booked into a hotel near my campus which has cost me £140 for the two nights I will need to be down! Flippin extortion if you ask me

Tattoo still all ok, though it's been neglected today, as has poor wee Charlotte. Who by the way is a grumpy little madam! The one day I need some time on my own to concentrate and she decides she's not having any of it. Frickin nightmare.

Right, I'll be back on Monday night so will try to catch up then

SKYTVADDICT · 19/08/2007 13:41

Good luck for Monday LW and Happy Birthday for Monday to LG&T.

Oh and by the way if we are pretending ages I am not going to be 40 in December

Not much news, just that after about a week of unbroken nights C decided he needed feeding at 3.30 this morning! Bit of a shock to the system.

MKG · 19/08/2007 16:28

Hello all am back from vacation!! The 13 hour trip home was long, but both boys were perfect while we were in the car. I honestly can't ask for better children. We are still exhausted, but I am so happy to be back.

Will chat more tomorrow.

largeginandtonic · 19/08/2007 20:10

Glad you are home MKG, bet you are resting your weary head now! A 13 hour drive sounds hideous.

Im off to Plymouth on thursday and am dreading the 4 hour trip with all 6, Beau does not like the car!

Have been very productive today, well ish... i listed my Mutsy and accessories on ebay. Am hoping to shift them quick but ebay is quiet at the moment. Will wait and see.

I had good weekend, in laws to stay and DH best friend was home from Russia to see us all. He is great with the kids, he even had Beau in his room at night! Couldnt manage the feeding though He goes back to work next week, this time to Saudi. We wont see him till March Beau will be practically walking by then!

DH other friend is in China and he wont be home till Christmas! He has not even seen Beau yet. Neither has my lovely little brother, he returns home from a 6 month deployment next weekend, yay!

These bloody jet\ship setters, i dunno......

MIL has just dropped in en route to Plymouth to pick up dh and take him back to work. She left a box of 12 KK's...... oh i do so love them. Shared them with the kids though, so only 5 left for me

Very quiet on here, MrsJB when are you free from all your guests? TYG must be home soon too. Dreamt about SOH last night, she had me waringa tye dye sling and a straw hat while i was dancing to some weird folky music on a stage!

Lupins71 · 20/08/2007 09:14

Right off to get ready for friend over, have a good day all

Bensonbluebird · 20/08/2007 10:27

Hello All, Happy birthday LG&T! Been lurking for a while a wondering how on earth I was going to catch up. Apologies for not keeping up with everyone. Well done for getting a tattoo LW! after childbirth a tattoo must be nothing.

We have been on holiday in France for 3 weeks, and had a lovely time. Since then I've applied for and got a new job (starting in the middle of november, boo hoo, don't want to go back that soon).

Aidan has been rolling for a couple of weeks -to start with I'd just find him on his tummy in the cot, then the other day I caught him at it. He likes picking up the baby gym by the leg to get the dangly bits into his mouth . He's also huge - 16.5lbs and 68cm long! his legs bump against my knees when I carry him in the sling. Like Mae, he has continental habits and stays up late. He isn't a brilliant sleeper, one day he will go 6 hours and the next he will be hungry every 2 hours. I guess that's the price you pay for doing so much growing.

largeginandtonic · 20/08/2007 11:19

Thank you Lupins and Benson!

Benson nice to have you back with us, quite a few of us have vanished and are just begining to appear again, the baby fog maybe clearing methinks

Lupin a KK donut party, hmmmmmmn you could be on to a winner there! I have eaten 2 for breakfast (it is my birthday )

The kids bought me up tea and toast in bed Various cards and 'presents', hehe. It took me half an hour to put the kitchen back together, still, they were happy!

I have nothin to do do today may make myself a cake.....

Thank you to Mrs Jb who sent me a b day card She is a lovely, even with all her millions of house guests to look after. Come back soon MrsJB.

Hugo being awful, must go and pin him down.

Has anyone been on Facebook yet? So addictive, get on there!

SKYTVADDICT · 20/08/2007 12:51

Hi all

Happy birthday LG&T

Had a bad night with Cal last night. He woke up 4 times - the first 3 I put his dummy in and he went back to sleep pretty much straight away but at 4.40am he was having it no more and needed feeding. Must be growing!

It must be because I was feeling so smug the other day that he was sleeping through. Nothing to do with him being near 16lb and maybe needing weaning. I have a nursery nurse from HV coming to see us on 3 September about weaning. Do you all get offered that? I told here there was no rush as I was waiting until 26 weeks!

aprilmeadow · 20/08/2007 13:44

Happy birthday lg&t. Hope you have a good day.

Nice to see you back with us Benson

I spoke to the hv on Thursday about weaning and she was quite pro it. She said once I think Ella is ready for food then to try Thought i would wait for as long as possible or until she was showing an interest in what i was eating. Yesterday at the car races she was eyeing up dh's hot chocolate and was trying to eat the cup.

Today is day one of potty training ds! So far (since 7.20am) we are on the 5th pair of pants! Not too bad as he has done loads on wees on the potty. Nursery want me to send him in with 6 changes of pants and trousers and some pulls ups as a last resort.

Roly mo is still rolling! She is even lifting her bum up in the air and trying to push herself along.

Hope scoot is drying out today!

Bensonbluebird · 20/08/2007 14:01

Hey April, we did potty training with DS1 the week before last, it took lots of stawberry bribes but only a few days to get him sorted, no accidents most days now. I bought 5 pairs of tracksuit bottoms for him from an NCT sale, partly so we would have lots of trousers and partly because they would be easy for him to pull up and down. We ended up with 25 pairs of pants! I had bought loads and then my aunt sent him some with diggers and things on and now he will only wear those 5 pairs. Don't s'pose you are short of pants? got lots that are still unworn.

aprilmeadow · 20/08/2007 14:15

how old is your ds?

largeginandtonic · 20/08/2007 14:36

You ladies put me to shame.... Hugo the terrible is more than ready for potty training but will not stick with it. We got a few wee's on the potty and that was it. I have chucked the poty back in the toilet and given up for now. I HATE potty training, worst bit of parenting if you ask me.

Im bored.....kids all out playing except Hugo and Beau (not quite big enough yet )

MKG · 20/08/2007 14:39

Happy B-day LG&T!!

aprilmeadow · 20/08/2007 14:42

Benson, my ds is 2yrs and i have just realised how short of pants i actually am. I thought that 10 pairs was enough, but as we are now on pair 7 of the day i think i need more!

anneme · 20/08/2007 15:27

hello everyone. I wrote a long I'm back from holiday post but seem to have lost it so this is the short version. Hope all well with you all and Happy bday LG&T. Have not really caught up with more than a day of postings! All well here. Samuel is lovely and an ounce off 17ib - holiday def agreed with him. DS1 is being v good - is still dressing as a pirate every day. BTW I only potty trained him in hte summer before he was 3 (in Sept)so I don't think it is worth worrying about it too much (having said that I did get a few comments from people who were surprised that he was still in nappies - at least he wasn't weeing on their floor I said)
must go and unpack - not got very far...

Pebblemum · 20/08/2007 16:07

Happy 'not 30th' birthday LG&T enjoy the peace while the kids are out playing, they will soon be in squabbling and moaning they are bored lol

Re Potty training, i was lucky with ds2 the second time i tried to train him. The first time was a disaster he just was not ready and kept wetting himself but then i put it off for a couple of months before trying again and suddenly it was as if someone had flicked a switch, he was dry both day and night within two days

For all my bragging that Alana is not a sicky baby she has managed to throw up on me four times within the space of 10mins, had forgotten how horrid baby sick smells yuk!

aprilmeadow · 20/08/2007 18:13

Ella is very sicky - doesnt get wind up very well. Gets very annoying!
Any ideas as to how i can get the wind up?

Mrsjaffabiffa · 20/08/2007 18:48

just a quick Hi and Wave to all.

Hope you've had a nice day lg&t, Glad you got our card. House still full until the 31st. 15 of us in house this week, one sister goes home Sat but 2 of Mum and dads friends arrive so up to 16 for the weekend. [tired emotion] It is lovely having the family here though.

Took Jorja to the dr's today for her 2nd lot of Jabs, Dr wouldn't do them though as she has quite a bad cold, her nose is so bunged up and she keeps coughing up Phlegm. I have the usuall France favorite potions to squirt up her nose and down her throat. Have to go back in 7/10 days for her jabs when her cold should be better.

Had her weighed and she is now 13lb 1oz.

Looking forward to being able to post lots again soon, missing chatting. xxx

Lupins71 · 20/08/2007 19:24

LGT Hope your day hasnt been too boring, how was the cake, did you make one??

OMG I have a job interview wednesday - its in a baby sex scanning center, quite fancy it actually, really feel i need a bot of my own life at the moment what with dp being home all the time, willow on hols - do think i will feel guilty as hell for leaving Arlen, I didnt leave Willow until she was 2 with anyone, anyway its 2 half days and a saturday so not excacty full time and i have spoken to a ovely childminder, so fingers crossed

Another OMG Arlen is fitting into his 3-6 month clothes - mainly due to his bulky bum of cloth nappy, I couldnt beieve it, so my job for tnite is putting the huge amount of cloths on hangers - oh and i must pack my ebay parcels and dismantle crib as lady has paid

Glad to hear everyone is having nice hoidays - but i am sooo jealous, keep checking the temp in lisbon wishing my life away in a nice way!!

Pebblemum · 20/08/2007 19:47

Advice needed-did you all get a letter about your LO's 2nd lot of jabs or did you have to do it all yourself. Normally my Dr's will send out a reminder slip giving a date when they are due. So far we havent had one and im sure Alana must be due her 2nd lot, she had her first ones on the 18th July. Do i wait for a few more days and see if i hear anything or should i just phone (my dr's receptionists can be quite horrible when you call to chase things up, hence my hesitation in doing it if i dont need to)

AM not sure what to advice about getting wind up but sometimes when Alana is being stubborn i find it helps to lay her down on my lap and then sit her straight back up again, this usually seems to help bring it up, not sure why though. She is normally great at burping-both ended lol (takes after her brothers) which is why she hardly ever brings anything back and also why i wasnt prepared when she did it today ie no cloth handy

Lupins71 · 20/08/2007 19:58

Pebble i got a letter - after he had them done, in the 1st instance i made the appt myself

RE winding, if i hold arlen under the arms and let him hang that can work, also lying him down for a few mins, or walking up and down the stairs seems to work, he is also a real bugger for winding

DP just scared the hell out of me,Arlen was asleep in the pram and has been for hours - dp came in and said A was white, ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHN, ran into the hall and he was very pale and in a really deep sleep which didnt help, but he is fine he was just cold and sleepy, gosh that was scary for a minute

Pebblemum · 20/08/2007 23:03

thanks lupins i think i will give them a call tomorrow. with her first jabs i had a letter beforehand and again afterwards With ds2's first MMR injection i was still getting letters a year later saying he was still due it even though it was written on his records that he'd had it on time. He now had his booster one and is still getting letters to say he is due them!!! Dont think the dr's know what they are doing half the time

Glad Arlen was ok, your heart must have stopped when your dp said that. I know ive caught myself checking Alana a few times, even prodding her once or twice if she seems too pale or in too deep a sleep, just to be sure

SKYTVADDICT · 21/08/2007 07:55

Morning all

Glad Arlen was ok Lupins - it can be scary -I have prodded C quite a few times!

Pebble - I had to make my second lot of jabs appointment and third (due 4 September).

Sorted DD2s room yesterday and have the delights of DD1s room to look forward to today. I hardly dare look in there. To be fair to her I have been putting things in there and also I was trying to find her school shoes to see if they were ok for going back to school and I pulled everything from under the bed - I only found one so far and it isn't looking good as it is very scuffed. If she was going back to primary it would probably do but as she will be starting big school I want her to feel good. Trouble is I am absolutely skint and she still needs quite a bit of other stuff. It is all costing a bomb!

C had a bit better night and I am pleased to say he slept for 5 hours from 10.30 to 3.30 which is a lot better than the last few nights but after having a week of 9/10 hours is still a shock to the system.
