cameroonmama · 14/08/2007 21:11

oh Hugs fabulous!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 14/08/2007 21:58

I'm so knackard having a house full is such hard work............; lg&t how do you manage to get yourself out of bed each day. Sorry you are missing the twins, love hugs, so cute.

I'm sorry, I'm not posting much, I am reading but by the time I've read I have no time to post.

So pleased the thread is back to it's chatty self now, we must be gradually getting our lives together.

LW, cheer up chic, keep talking to us, good to chat with your mum.

Sorry I haven't mentioned everyone.

Off to do a bric a brac in the morning. H was not impressed at half his toys going into a for sale box.

Must sleep now, night all.xxx

LWandLottie · 14/08/2007 22:31

I'm sorry but LG&T I have just spluttered tea all over my computer screen pmsl at the picture of hugs! what a little tyke! I think him and Lily SHOULD definitely hook up! Very cool buggy btw.

Julie sorry you had a crappy night with A, hopefully it's just a won off. C chops and changes, sometimes I don't hear a peep out of her until 9am, other nights she wakes once for a feed.

MrsJB, hope you are having a fab time with your full house.

Pebble glad you had a great time away, where are you going in October? I'm going to Malta for a week and can't wait. C's swimming costumes have been bought already. Anything to try and distract peoples eyes away from the awfulness that is my stomach

Scoot, your Tesco's escapade sounds......eventfull? Poor you, I think I would have landed myself in the middle of the cark park on my arse, singing away crazily to myself in the rain! I don't know how anyone manages with more than 1, should have seen the state of me by the time I got to the clinic. Screaming, hungry baby in tow. C made SURE we were centre of attention, the receptionist gave me a 'oh, she's not coping well is she!' type looks lol! My hair was also a beehive due to the rain and wind. What can I say, I like the twitching, about ready to crack up look!

C managed to work her way through 3, yes 3! outfits today from either crapping rather a lot or being sick, despite being burped for 20 minutes. I think my child is just one big exploding body funtion gone wrong. How proud I am too.

I want a pink quinny zapp, only suitable from 6 months though. GAH! Want want want want want I tell you!

LWandLottie · 14/08/2007 22:37
  • won off?
  • one off!

Oh God it's happening, my mind really is turning into mush!

largeginandtonic · 14/08/2007 23:25

Noooooooooooooo LW dont get the Zapp, it is awful! A nightmare to fold up and put up and doesnt lie down an inch for their sleeping little heads, I had one for 5 minutes before selling it straight on.

I am a bit of a pramaholic, will keep my eye out for a pink somefin for wee C

MrsJB clearly you are not drinking enough Vino to kee your sanity. Will send ova some chocolate post haste to help with the stress. Please email me your addy again as your bday pressie and card didnt show did it? Want to make sure i have the correct SOS address

LWandLottie · 15/08/2007 00:00

Really? Is it that bad? Oh I'm glad you told me before I bought one then! I only wanted it becasue it looked light and easy to fold, easy to get on and off trains with etc. And of course, because it's pink! Any suggestions as to what might be good would be appreciated. I'm keeping my silvercross 3D becasue I love it, but it's far too heavy and complicated to fold for public transport. But I don't want one of those umbrella folding buggy things they have when they are older iykwim. She's still too small and cute for one of those lol. A lightweight 3 weel type things would be cool, one that I could go running with would be even better

Right well then, LG&T your mission should you choose to accept it is to find me the ultimate pram/pushchair/buggy thing!

Am off to bed now. Well no that's a lie actually. I'm off to tidy the s**t tip that is my room and then I can go to bed. If I leave my room any longer I fear my mother may have a hernia!
Night all.

scootermum · 15/08/2007 08:18

Oh christ..Lily has just managed to dial 999 whilst I was in the shower and I have just been soundly scolded down the phone by a policeman who was about to despatch a squad car...I beg of you..

M woke up in the night last night for a feed as well for the first time in 6 weeks..I knew it!She has just been lulling me into a false sense of security!Am praying its a growth spurt!

Still onwards and upwards..still raining here, but am going to attempt to take both girls to Harlow today to do clothes shopping..I realise that this is NOT a good plan but needs must..I will be a gibbering wreck by 4 o clock..DH back tomorrow-cant come soon enough..

juliewoolie · 15/08/2007 08:23

oh scoot really feel for you. In my nannying days I remember many a time like that, in particular one of the kids hitting the silent alarm on the key pad no idea how he managed it as he was 2 and the key pad was halfway up a wall!

Just think not many toddlers would know how to use the telephone at least you can rest assured when you are on the floor foaming at the mouth Lily will call an ambulance for you

cameroonmama · 15/08/2007 08:23

at Lily, Courage mon ami!

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 15/08/2007 09:18

Right you lot can all bugger off. D'ya hear me? Do ya? Buggery offski with your 'oh no dd/ds woke up for a feed last night'. You lucky blardy lot. Mathilda would spontaneously combust if she only woke up for one feed in the night. Try at least four. Every 2 hours at least during the day. What the heck did I do in in a past life? Maybe I was a pirate...

LG&T and Scoot you do know that Lily and Hugs are destined to unite and unleash a mischief as yet unseen in the modern world? And I will sit back with my 7 stone baby and laugh. Mwahahahahahaha....

Scoot your wedding sounds lovely. We have a DVD of ours too, recorded by friends and I watch it every now and then and wonder where my figure went!

Is that true about 16lb and weaning? I was so determined to get to 6 months as recommended by the WHO. Mathilda is inordinately interested in our food already, swipes at it and makes sucky noises in the direction of our plates. I assumed it was just an interest in anything we did. I'll try to hang on for as long as possible but to be frank she's already feeding every 2hrs and has bypassed every centile line she can. She's sooooo hungry all the time and at 6 months will probably be back to feeding constantly. I don't know where she gets it from, me and DH are surprisingly normal in the appetite/size stakes. Obviously there the normality ends but I never expected to produce such a feeding machine.

Hope everybody has seen the fab news about Misdee's Peter. I've got everything crossed for him!

Anyway, must rush to do some housework as the MIL is descending upon us in a wee bit.

Pebblemum · 15/08/2007 11:14

LG&T Arent little boys lovely. Ds2 has also done that with sudocream only he managed to get it everywhere including his hair (not the easiest thing to get out)

Just got back from having Alana weighed she is now 11lb 7oz at 12wks, she seems to be of the smallest on here but i assure you she is really a little lump. She even has a double chin lol. Also had Ds2's weight and height checked he is 3ft 3.5in and 2st 6lb 30z bit of a difference to Alana lol

For all of you who have asked we are going to Salou in Spain for 2wks. We are staying with Keycamp, find it much better staying in caravans with kids than hotels, there is more space for them to run around and lots more to do. It sometimes works out cheaper too I cannot wait.

Alana has one cute swimsuit and one sun protection suit but im sure she will end up with more before the holiday. The best thing about going away in October is you can buy all your new clothes in the end of summer sales I love a bargain!!

scootermum · 15/08/2007 13:03

One of my SILis at a keycamp somewhere as I type-she loves it...Think we will do it when kids are bigger..

Have aborted te shopping plan..its pouring down and L has refused to sleep this morning and is thus alternately laughing her head off or screaming at the top of her lungs like some sort of loon, as she is very tired indeed..am going to take my chances at the soft play centre instead...depending on how it goes I may be found at the bottom of the ball pool begging for mercy

I left it till 5 and a half months to wean L...but wish Id done it sooner as she was so hungry..M is guzzling like mad today though so I might just start her off on a piece of toast

cameroonmama · 15/08/2007 14:20

Scoot, a wise move staying at home I feel.. we went out to an animal sanctuary 45 mins away and got thoroughly and totally poured on, it was even too wet for most of the animals to be out one of my better ideas, not. Now of course the sun is shining.

We are off on our hols on Saturday and we are also doing a mobile home extravaganza with Eurocamp. I couldn't face a tent, small children and rain so we went for the mobile option, the dc are very excited. I know they are going to love it, not sure its really mine or Dh's kind of thing, but hey ho, next year onwards it will be trips into the bush with a landrover, tent and wild animals As it is we are sticking to France this year, which I love but Dh says France would be perfect were it not for the French. So MrsJB, please do a sundance for us, it seemed to work for April! So I have to think about packing and the thinking about it is just as tiring as the doing it. J seems to go though loads of outfits, one poop and its all over the place..

SOH, J is most definately over 16lbs now but he doesn't seem interested in real food as Matilda is. He also needs his booby every couple of hours, to be honest I have stopped noticing how long it is between feeds and just whop them out when he gets grumpy and I know he is not tired or bored

SOH, I haven't checked up on the Misdee and Peter situation today - is there a heart available? That would be such good news for them.

Juicylucytoo · 15/08/2007 14:38

SOH, Thank God for you. I thought I was the only one feeding 2 hourly. I am soon going to collapse into a twitching heap if O doesn't start sleeping abit longer.

Don't even have the consolation that he's a porker. Skinny little runt!

Will probanbly be off-line for the next couple of weeks as have moved house and Talk Talk and BT are both pants. 'nuff said.

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 15/08/2007 15:05

Cam, Peter has had his heart transplant and is in recovery!

I'm not glad per se that Cam and JL have the same frequent freeding issue, but is nice to know that not everybody has a three monther who is feeding every 6 hours and sleeping through. Pretty sure M is 16lb+ as we haven't had her weighed for a couple of weeks and she was getting that way. Quite of all of this holiday chat. We went to the folk festival for a few days and that was our holiday, no funds for anything else just yet. We go to Center Parcs with my parents every March though so we have that to look forward to and I'm taking dd to Devon on her first proper holiday next summer, finances permitting.

Definitely decided to extend my mat leave to a year, just need to think about childcare. Any thoughts about childminders vs nursery? Dull I know but should probably start looking around now ready for next year.

aprilmeadow · 15/08/2007 16:09

Hello there,

LG&T - he looks like butter wouldnt melt
Pebble - glad you had a good break away.
Scoot - what a little monkey you have. Agree with SOH about Hugs & Lily - that would be so funny

Its like Xmas here in my house, all the bits i have won on ebay are turning up!

Getting Ella weighed tomorrow and i think she will be nearly 13lbs. She was 18wks yesterday.

largeginandtonic · 15/08/2007 16:27

The weaning tis true SOH, so i say dont battle on forever. Beau feeds every couple of hours through the day, but like Cam i have no idea how frequently. I too just 'whop' it out whevever! He is also a skinny thing, long though.

I cant wait to do a camp in France, it may be in very close vicinity to MrsJB though

Good news on the Mat leave SOH, childminders?? Dont be silly, we talked about this remember? Im having Lily, Mae, Mathilda, Aoife and anyone else's children that want to hop on the big yellow bus to my house while you all go off to work

Anyone want a 5 year old? My normally quiet and very well behaved Jonah is a beast today. Sulking, feet stamping and general naughtiness. I had a friends 2 boys this morning as she had her antanatal app (baby due in a week)and it was one of his best friends and he was still grumpy. Bed exceptionally early tonight i feel.

Lily and Hugo together in the same county could be dangerous, can you imagine in the same room!!!

Pebble your hol sounds great! Are you flying with all the kids?

aprilmeadow · 15/08/2007 17:07

The funniest thing i have ever seen has just happened in my house and i seriously thought i was going to pee my pants and cry all at the same time....

Dh was playing with Ella and all seemed fine until he lifted her into the air and she promptly spewed all over him and had a direct shot into his mouth!!! I wasnt paying attention to what they were doing and the dh shouted at me to 'take her she is vommiting' i looked up and just saw him covered in it!! Dh doesnt do vomit very well and i thought he was going to vomit himself. Sorry had to share this with you all!

SOH, obviously LG&T would be first choice, but if you need a sencondary choice then i go with Nursery. Ds has been in one since 5.5mths old and loves it. Compared to other children from his ante natal class he has a greater vocab and is far more confident. Ds is quite high maintenance so nursery was the better option as they fill their day up with lots of different activities.

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 15/08/2007 17:07

Oh God that would be ideal wouldn't it? You Earth Mother Extraordinaire looking after the frankly urchin like Mathilda. You need to move up to Norfolk. There are docks here for N to work out of, you could purchase a small holding and tend to the animals. We could drink earl grey, eat cake and feed the baby lambs. (SOH clearly thinks it's possible to actually live within an Enid Blyton novel) It'd be perfick.

Discovered in the last hour that if you tickle Mathilda under her arms she laughs uncontrollably until tears stream down her face. Couple this with the fact that she's wearing pink gingham dungarees and it's possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen.

Gotta go, am in the middle of painting designs onto a parasol for Mathilda. No idea why I started, it's turned into an epic endeavour!

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 15/08/2007 17:11

Oh dear AM, poor DH. Not had that happen yet, but M does like to projectile poo when you take her nappy off. She gets DH regularly, I've avoided it so far. M is definitely going to be high maintenance, I can feel it. I prefer the idea of a nursery I think- more children, better structure, multiple carers. Actually I prefer the idea of me writing that damn book and becoming a rich lady.

LWandLottie · 15/08/2007 18:17

Hello

Scoot, pmsl at Lily. She's the girl you'd want around in an emergency!

AM, your poor DH! I too have had ebay parcels showing up every day, it's either very exciting or I'm just sad waiting in for them and squealing like a pig when they arrive. There I am, 9am every morning, nose pressed against the glass bit of the door, staring at the postman....waiting! Poor bloke. Slept in this morning though and missed him delivering my new phone Was up all night tidying my room.

Cam your holiday sounds like it'll be lots of fun, hope the weather is nice for you.

On the subject of holidays, my mum has said she'll pay for me to go to New York for a long weekend in May with my sisters as it's my 21st! Then we're hoping to do a 2 week trip to Italy in the summer holidays.

SOH I think I'd prefer a nursery for when C is older. More kids about, lots of activities and toys, more helpers etc. I don't know how you do the feeding every 2 hours, it would be the death of me lol! I struggle getting up once a night, mind C didn't wake until 6am this moring which wasn't too bad.

Pebble, good to hear A's coming on well. C's 6oz heavier, but still seems HUGE do to the fact that she is so long.

LG&T hope J get's better for you tonight.

I was at baby massage today, but I went into the other group as I slept in - doh! The women in there are a bit younger and also so much nicer. More of them too. Only problem is they all seem to have grouped of already. Last massage day today, have now signed up for baby music things.

Have a HV coming out to me on Friday morning to talk to me about me feeling so down. Hoping that talking to someone will help, though today has been a good day. What a scary day Friday's going to be, a HV AND a tattoo. Will I live to tell the tale?

Went onto the sunbeds again today, I will be tanned lol! Have also almost finished all of my ebaying, have had a mahoosive clearout and the de-cluttering means I have more space in my room. Am now getting though becasue I won C's playgym thingy ages ago and I still haven't recieved it. And also, the woman who has sold me my drape rod for C's cotbed is apparently a bit of a bitch. A woman who bought one of her contacted me to say BEWARE, she's horrid. She had been waiting since mid July for hers and the seller was really nasty to her. The poor woman was heavily pregnant and just wanted to get her babies room finished! So I'm balling up my fists and I'm prepared for the worst at least.

No word from TYG, has anybody spoken to her recently? Hope she is ok.

Lupins71 · 15/08/2007 19:30

AM I am just waiting to see what the weather is doing tomorrow beforedeciding on the beach 0 i know they have had it all packed away last few days cos of the rain, will email or text you in the morning if we are going - if we do it will be early afternoon

aprilmeadow · 15/08/2007 19:39

HI Lups, that's great thanks. Look forward to hearing from you x

largeginandtonic · 15/08/2007 19:47

PMSL April.... one of them (i forget which) was sick in to Sam's mouth (twin)It was so funny!

TYG is great, she is holidaying.... have text speak with her occasionally. She was by a lovely lake a couple of days ago, buggy watching, hehe

Im all warm and fuzzy, not due to the children......... the 2 double G&T's ive drunk. Hugs is the root of all evil, i cant even speak im too traumatised.

LWandLottie · 15/08/2007 19:54

Oh LG&T has he topped the sudocrem episode from yesterday? I didn't think anything would beat that
