Everything in moderation Mrs JB..he's very active your DH isnt he? so it'll be fine, (Scoot tries hard to convince herself whilst nursing a small G and t )

How was your night out Cam?

How is the hair looking now Tam?Ive never ever dyed mine but as soon as my first grey hair appears it will be out with the die asap..

Well blow me about the car seat April..DH wont let me have it now as we already have a maxi cosi..but if only id known..

My DH has now stopped watching cricket only to turn over to watch the ruddy golf...honestly he will watch any sodding sport..Do you think if he had the snip he would give it up and start being more interested in more interesting things?I am constantly vying for his attention with ruddy Tiger Woods or Freddie Flintoff..

DH is at college Monday night and Wednesday night this week and on Tuesday night, which is our third wedding anniversary, he is in Penrith for a meeting. So I may be a gibbering wreck come Thursday morning..Im rubbish at being alone in the house over night as I start to hear burglars and murderers with every creak in the floorboards..I have to sleep with the radio on-im such a wuss...

Well off to bed now with my book...night all

Mrsjaffabiffa · 12/08/2007 21:31

I haven't had a look at it cam but I will now.

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 12/08/2007 21:31

Cam I think I read that if your dc is going to react to vaccinations, it lasts 48hrs. That said, M is dribbly, pink-cheeked, sleeping poorly and seems sore when feeding so I think we're looking at early teething symptoms here.

Snort at enchiladas being exotic btw. My Mum would faint if she knew as Sundays are for roasts but enchiladas are quick and easy and most importantly, made by DH! Just had mango and passionfruit sorbet too. M is resolutely refusing to sleep and currently gurning at DH. She has developed a real little belly laugh over the last few days. I think it may be the best sound I have ever heard. Oh and her snoring. She's so loud and heartfelt in her nightly efforts.

Wonder if we'll see any meteors, tis a bit cloudy in Norfolkio.

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 12/08/2007 21:32

MrsJB, have I told you how bloody fantastic those apple sweets were? Such a lovely surprise and some of the nicest apple sweets I've tasted.

AbbyLou · 12/08/2007 21:45

Evening all ,it's very chatty on here tonight. It seems like ages since I managed to catch up. We have had a lovely weekend. It was our wedding anniversary yesterday and dm and dad had the kids while we went to London for the day. It only takes just over an hour on the train from mums and that way we could both have a drink. By 10am we were on Westminster Pier boarding a boat to Greenwich. The weather was gorgeous and it was the perfect way to spend an hour on a sunny August morning. We had a mooch around Greenwich, especially the market which I love and then went for some brunch in some little cafe or other. We caught the tube back on DLR which was very posh and dh got very unneccessarily excited as we weaved our way right through the middle of Canary Wharf on the train! My lovely dh had booked us afternoon tea at Clarudges so after a little mosey round a very hot Oxford Street we made our way there. I have to say it was absolutely gorgeous and so lovely to be waited on hand and foot. The sandwiches and cakes were to die for. We have done it at The Savoy too and I have to say I prefer Claridges. I was hoping for a little glimpse of Gordon Ramsey as his restaurant is there but no such luck. Finally we made our way to Hamleys - what a nightmare that place is. Every time we go we say never again but we desperately wanted to get the dc a little something. We bought R her first baby toy of her own that didn't belong to C first and we bought C a set of the little IN The Night Garden toys. He adores them and hasn't let them out of his sight yet. He has dutifully tucked them up in bed with him tonight and I had to kiss them all before I was allowed to leave the bedroom!!
It was so lovely to have a whole day out on our own yesterday - the first since R was born. I didn't have to think about bottles or potties for hours and hours....It was lovely to get home to them as well of course and nice to hear they had both been angels and can go again any time - we'll hold them to that I think...

cameroonmama · 12/08/2007 21:51

oh that lovely chuckle they develop, I can't wait for J to start. Hmm I suspect teeth too, lots of drool here and finger sucking, the other two had their first teeth at 4 months so its pretty likely.

I'm drooling at mango and passionfruit sorbet, we miss our mangoes and passionfruit..

Sorry scoot about your dh being away on your anniversary. I know what you mean about being scared to be alone, when we got back from Cameroon I felt very vulnerable without dh or my mahoooosive wall around my house, nor my security guard and back up alarm system Now I just close the windows

We had a lovely time last night thanks, took the chi-chi London girls to a spit and sawdust pub and made them drink real ale! They then spent the rest of the night asking me for advice on their relationships or lack of them (what do I know??? Happily married for 8 years, smelling of babysick) Too much country air made them both fall asleep on the sofa at 11pm, pah lightweights.

largeginandtonic · 12/08/2007 21:59

Evening ladies, will attempt a quick catch up.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 12/08/2007 22:12

Cam what a fab site, that'll keep him amused for hours and it's educational too. Thanks

hey lg&t, hope you are all well. xxxx

SOH, great hint. More on there way ASAP.

largeginandtonic · 12/08/2007 22:19

Bloody hell, yap, yap.......took me forever!

Huge CONGRATULATIONS to Sky!!! A wedding, i love wedding's!

Cam well done to DD for passing her ballet exam, clever girl. Did i ever mention my DD was banned from ballet age 3 She would do her own thing and the other kids would copy her not the teacher. It was suggested i not bring her again, hehe.

LW a tatoo, hmmmmm. I have one, a little bee ( i like bee's) on my Ma Larkin shaped ass. It has a fabulous stretch mark through it from DD pregnancy..... I got it at Uni, 5 of us went in for one and only i managed it. It did bloody hurt!

LilLaura i hope you are ok, some fab advice from April before. I can recommend a stay here, cheap but not very restful

April poor you on auntie Flo returning, im hoping to avoid that for some time yet......

MrsJB i have pics of the kids on the dry ski slope, will email them to you when i get a chance. They loved it and still talk about it!

I saw the Paediatrician last week for Beau's Pectus Excavatum. He was very nice and said it would probabaly come to nothing. His weight came up too, he just said i had obviously had a very healthy pregnancy (KK donuts...) and he was not meant to be that big, it is likely he will settle to his own percentile and level off. Lovely man

I have my car back too, yay! Pray nothing else goes wrong with it, it has been serviced and fixed.

Beau is feeding all day at the moment. He has a bottle in the evening so DH can feed him, but DH has gone back to work tonight (sob) so i havent bothered. Will see if it make any difference to his sleeping 9 hours

SOH hellloooooo, am still sulking about not being able to go to the bbq. Dont want a birthday anyway, viscious rumours circulating about me being 30, grrrrrrrrrr M looks like the nicest 'tank' i have ever seen, and i love those dungarees, DH has just made B some trousers out of the Cath Kidston Circus fabric, i think he missed his calling in life

Emma f**cking Bunton, bet she post on here and stole my name. Everyone will think i called Beau after her baby! Just you wait soon there will be classrooms teaming with Beau's, he will become a, a, a Kevin

scootermum · 13/08/2007 08:15

Morning all..
Lily has been bellowing 'apple' for the last hour and a half..so I kept giving her one, only for her to chuck it on the floor...it has taken me this long to realise that what she actually meant was a satsuma..
Stupid Mummy

scootermum · 13/08/2007 08:16

Banned from Ballet?!I think thats a disgrace!Christ its not Saddlers Wells..she was three for heavens sake!

scootermum · 13/08/2007 08:19

Here Abby-so Claridges better than Savoy you say..becuase I used to go to tea at the Savoy once a month when I lived in London as my special treat to self...but might give Claridges a go now then...went to the Wolsely once or twice which was nice but lacked the charm factor really-its a bit trendy rather than genteel and if you're going to have a tea it might as well be genteel IMO...

aprilmeadow · 13/08/2007 09:22

morning,

scoot i think you can just buy the adaptor and use your car seat with it....

Good to see you lg&t

Abby your day sounds lovely.

All babies are looking so scrummy. Have updated my pictures

largeginandtonic · 13/08/2007 09:24

genteel......Savoy....Claridges????? Scoot are you Princess Di? Did she really die or is it like Elvis, just in hidding?

Am off to an NCT bounce n fun this morning, i dont know anyone but am breaking them in gently by only taking 4!

SKYTVADDICT · 13/08/2007 10:37

Have a nice time at bounce n fun LG&T. Wish we had something like that round here. I haven't joined any NCT activities as think my oldest is a little old!

C was really good at his nan and grandads last night and didn't even have his bottle of ebm which I had to give him when they got back as DP went straight to bed. I have expressed 6oz this morning already. He has 7oz bottles and I only have one bottles worth frozen. Need to start to make the stock up.

Teething - OMG surely not! The DDs were a lot older than this. He is very dribbly and always has his fingers in his mouth. How does that work with b/f then? Not something to look forward to I suppose.

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 13/08/2007 11:15

I have been assured that breastfeeding a toothy baby is not actually that difficult. I thought labour would be fairly straightforward though so I just assume it's all lies and expect the worse.

MrsJB, I wasn't hinting. Honest guv'. But if you do feel compelled to send more then honestly, don't feel you have to restrain yourself.

LG&T, Kevin? Dearie me, I think Wayne's much nicer. Banned from ballet, that's fairly amusing. I suspect if dd continues along the same centile line then ballet could be hilarious. She'll just crash around and crush the little dainty things pirhouetting around her ankles.

We have baby signing today which is just a gathering of Stepford Wives in Laura Ashley ensembles. I get a bit too enthusiastic with the singing and dramatic gestures and they tut at me. I heard one of them call me a hippy last week. Sod 'em. They're jealous of my straw hat.

Creena · 13/08/2007 11:19

Hullo Scooter! Nice to see you too! I know what you mean about the whole going back to work thing. I'm dreading it. I'm squeezing my maternity pay and savings out as far as I possibly can so that I can take as much time off as possible. I can have up to a year off as paid and unpaid leave and I'd like to take it all, if possible. We'll have to see though - what with moving house etc, I might have to go back earlier.

I also have a very small tattoo but I'm guessing that nobody would be interested.

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 13/08/2007 11:27

Tell us about your tattoo Creena! It can't be any worse than my friend who has 'Your Name' tattooed on his hairy behind. I've learnt to shut my eyes when he slurs 'I've got your name tattooed on my arse' at passing sylph-like ladies.

Tell us, tell us, tell us...

cameroonmama · 13/08/2007 11:30

That's it Scoot and Abby you are both officially posh.

'Ere muvver of Kevin, what's bounce 'n' fun about then? I am always a little suspicious of anything with an 'n' in it. Who does the bouncing?

Lol SOH about the Stepford Wives at baby signing, do you think if you pressed the right buttons their norks would increase?

OK now I am feeling really rubbish because you are all doing these alpha mum type things with your babies and I just take mine to Sainsbuggers.

ArtistFormerlyKnownAsSOH · 13/08/2007 11:38

Gawd don't feel bad. I only go to Tiny Talk because it's two minutes up the road, I'd go stir crazy without something to do outside of these four walls and there's free cake. Okay, it's the free cake really. I have to admit that M does have swimming lessons now but only because I am so water phobic and I don't want her to be the same. Plus, taking her myself is forcing me to confront it. DH used to swim for the county and is adamant that it's something that he wants us to do as a family. She absolutely loves it and it tires her out so it's definitely worth it.

Meant to say I have no idea what Claridges is and I concur with LG&T, Scoot's posh!!

cameroonmama · 13/08/2007 11:47

DD went to babyswimming lessons and is a fabulous swimmer now at 5, ds1 didn't and won't go near a pool inspite of the fact he spent everyday around/near/being enticed into our or friend's pools in Cameroon I would love to take all 3 but in our local pool you are not allowed to have more than 2 kids per adult, besides I'm scared someone I know might see me in a costume and be scarred for life.

Lol at your friend's tattoo,SOH, you have some colourful friends! Perhaps Creena has the same tattoo, c'mon spill the beans Creena!

LWandLottie · 13/08/2007 12:03

Hello all

Big wave to LG&T, welcome back lovely.

SOH, ignore the stupid women! I get the comments and tuts all the time though for a different reason! I think you'd look rather fetching in your straw hat I'm also incredibly funny about swimming, I hate it. Was nearly drowned on holiday by a teenage boy mucking about when I was 8 and ever since have been put off by it. Don't want C to be like that either though so have to look into swimming related things for her.

Cam, I too don't go to these baby groups. Mainly becasue there is nothing running during the holidays, and also because some of the mothers I've seen at the clinic make me cringe with there little 'angel darlings!' Baby massage in painfull enough with the reaction I've sparked from one of the mums, though baby music lessons start after the massage thing and I really want to go to that so I can bang things

Creena do share re your tatoo. I'm starting to get a bit nervous about mine.

What's all this, are some of us posh? Mmmmm, I must be on the wrong thread......

Right have to go and shower, have an appt on a sunbed later and have to post an ebay parcel. AM I wish I'd listened to you when you told me how addictive it is.

SKYTVADDICT · 13/08/2007 12:20

I don't do any baby things yet either. We did got to a few HV baby groups before the end of term and will start again in September but baby signing or swimming seems too much like hard work. DD1 is taking herself swimming now she is older but DD2 at only 7 can't go with her and I feel really guilty but just can't be bothered. We did take C swimming on hols and he was fine but it required a lot of effort on my part for such a short time in the water - typing this makes me sound really lazy doesn't it?

Going back to work seems such a long time in the future. I will have had 10 months off when I am due to go back on 24 January. I dediced against the nursery I have paid a deposit for and will try to get it back. We are currenly paying a CM £15.00 a week (quarter fees)until January to keep him a place!

Anyway, hoping to win the lotto before then which I will obviously share with you lot, then I won't have to go back .

largeginandtonic · 13/08/2007 13:39

Bounce and fun was great! No bouncing for the mummies though, pobably wise, i may have taken my eye out with the monster size of my norks at the moment

I was bombarded (in a nice way) with questions about a) what car do you drive b) how do you shop\cook for that many c) how on earth do you go on holiday etc... etc... I feel a teensy bit like freak show sometimes.

So Creena what's your tatoo then? SOH i feel yo should get a gingerbread man, i may get a KK. Tatoos for cravings instead of baby name's. Dont fancy Kevin scrawled across my back >

aprilmeadow · 13/08/2007 13:53

I took ds to baby swimming from 9mths to just before he turned 2, had to stop as the next level was due to finish 3 days before edd which we all know i didnt make! Started Ella swimming about 4 weeks ago and she loves it. Am also signed up to start a baby music class in September.. Gives me something to do other than ironing

LW, ebay, tell me about it, i think they need to start a 'EA' club - Ebayers Anonymous. After spending ages adding all of Ella's clothes i then spent hours looking at bits and bobs for ds. STEP AWAY FROM EBAY!
