Morning Ladies,

Happy birthday SOKL & CD - hope you have a lovely day and get spoiled rotten

Well, my parents left to go back to Aus this morning... v. even though I'll be seeing them again in December. Will have to get a webcam so they can see L all the time.

Have decided I am going to start making baby t-shirts that say 'I am a girl' after the millionth person asked me how old 'he' was and commented on 'his' lovely hair... that or L is never leaving the house again without lots of pink on...!

Hope everyone is well, have a great day.
x

LOL Maveta, VAT anomalies and what's considered essential is ludicrous (women's sanitary protection is considered non-essential and therefore VAT paid in the UK), but it is outrageous that VAT is charged on nappies. The 20% rate seems pretty lethal too.

Good luck with overcoming the hurdles and getting your business going.

I do envy the outdoor swimming pool lifestyle, though I don't generally enjoy hot weather. But this summer has been crap, the last consistently good weather was April when I felt too wretched to enjoy it.

LOL Bumble, it's so ridiculous. Everyone assumed I was a boy because my mum just didn't do pink. Danny has a fair amount of blue stuff but he also has lots of clothes which force people to ask - zebra stripes and other prints on white, green etc. Or you could just put some white baby clothes in with any red stuff you have - Mike's just done that with a baby wolves fan vest he bought.

oh Bumble.. at your parents leaving, it must be hard when they are so far away. Good luck with the webcam, I had the genius brainwave of using skype + webcam to keep up with my best girlfriends back home and after convincing them and getting them to buy cams etc. too, we can´t get it to work!! Actually that´s another thing I really need to get sorted... Luckily N NEVER gets mistaken for a girl, in fact everyone always says he has a really boy face... have been tempted to put him in pink or something more androgynous to test the theory..

Elkie, thanks for your lovely encouragement.. we´ll see.. I know what you mean, I don´t particularly like it when it gets too hot but on balance I´ll take this climate any day!

Morning Katy! [wave]

Well the varnishing has stopped again, only got one table top done, still two sets of legs and another top to go [bored] but I have vacuumed, mopped, dusted and emptied out even MORE clothes of N´s that he no longer fits, sorted into ours, SIL 1´s and SIL 2´s to be returned. (it´s so scary how quickly they outgrow clothes, I´ve said it once and I´ll say it again.. I´m so lucky to have 2 older nephews to pass things onto N, both born in spring/summer too so they are even season appropriate at the right time, IYKWIM) Oh and got laundry on.

I´M ON FIRE!!!!!

Happy Birthday CD and SOKL! Hope all those with 3/4 birthday parties this week have survived!!

Lucewheel - if no-one else has taken you up on your kind offer of red checked dresses, could we?! N has to wear red checked at her new school and as she's only 4 atm, she should get good wear out of those. Email me on [email protected] if they're still up for grabs.

Octo - not that we've started weaning yet, but am having similar dilemma over chairs. We have a Trip-Trap here, but I think they have to be able to sit up fairly solidly before they can go in it, so at least 6 months. Bouncy chair sounds messy. I was wondering about getting a bumbo and plonking it on the table?

Grrr. Decided not to go out to the garden centre this morning as I though O needed her nap and I'm trying to get her used to napping in the cot. 45 mins later, she is still yelling on and off - hmmmmm.

Afternoon! Have just got dressed! DH home today so we shipped the older 2 off to nursery, stayed in bed til lunch time and now we're off to town for a walk and a shop and some cake. Really pleased that DH has actually organised some stuff, bless him. We're going out tonight as well. I am a happy bunny - feeling a bit spaced though and P is being a pickle today. Sigh.

Good stuff!

Happy Birthday!! - to SOKL - hope you're having a lovely day - what are your plans sweetie?? {{{{hugs}}}}

Nappies at night - DD1 (3.6 yrs) is in Moltex size 6 which I put in my wormery. No even thinking about getting her dry at night yet - she's always completely soaking in the morning or if she has nap during the day, bless her.

Hello everyone! Havent been around for a few days as just generally busy.

We (Runny and I) have had our official first welsh meet up today! She came to my house this morning. Dh thought I was a bit mad to ask a total stranger to the house! Anyway, it was really lovely. Her little boy William is beautiful, and both the babies were well behaved!
Runny, I did make liaths marmalade cake and I forgot to even offer you a slice! Too much talking going on!

Hope everyone is well. Happy birthday to SOKL and CD. Hope you both have really lovely days and get thoroughly spoiled

Eddas, love the new name! I want a HP name too but cant think of anything with Jo in it. Cant wait for the book to be released next week. Not so desperately bothered to see the film straight away but I really want to know what happens with Harry and Voldemort (and Dumbledore for that matter - do you think he is really really dead?).

Have a good day everyone. Oh and what is a doidy cup as you all seem to be getting them and I dont know what they are?

Oooggs, when ds was still wet at night I just had him in the pampers pull ups size 6. I think they are called easy up pants (or something like that). He was always soaking but they very rarely leaked.

mammyjo - stopped using pampers baby dry size 6 on tuesday night - always very went and very rarely leaked. Used pampers easy up pants last night size 6 and he and the bed were soaked. I changed so that he was no longer in nappies and could go to the toilet if he wanted to. Hoping it is just a one off

No way Ooogs, this weather is staying RIGHT. HERE.! LOL. Actually today is quite overcast so I think someone has already swiped it..

Weeonion - reusables are pretty unheard of here, from the very informal ´surveys´ (i.e. asking people I know!) I´ve done so yeah, could be a whole untapped market. Only problem is, sales has never been one of my strong points and I feel like the local population could be a bit resistant. well we´ll see. Call me crazy but I feel like selling stuff might not be the best career choice for someone who´s crap at selling..

Re. pockets.. I have only used fuzzi bunz and I really like it, hasn´t contained a poo yet (3 times it´s leaked) but I think that is us not doing up the legs tight enough rather than a design flaw.. I have just received a wonderoo which I really want to love because it´s BTP so would be real value for money (and much more than fuzzis which are sized) so I´ll let you know how I get on with it. From what I can tell Wonderoo, Bumgenius, Fuzzis and Happy Heinys are the most popular.

Hello!!!

Right I haven't been able to read all that I've missed - think I've got as far back as mid morning yesterday. I'm having a lovely holiday but may never catch up on Mn at this rate.

Happy Birthday - sokl and CD lovely mummies deserve lovely birthdays!

Bumble- for parents going back. I miss mine and they only live 100 miles away!

Maveta - good luck with the nappy venture. I can relate to your story about N flaking out after swimming. We took George for the first time today and he seemed to like it. He was in a swim seat and his expression veered from "this is fun" to "What are you doing to me?" and back the whole 30 mins he was in there. he's now been asleep for more tahn an hour.

V of the Leeds-based shenanigans. Damn holidays Hope Ellie, Matthew and Joe, Pinions, Louis and Theo, Nutty and Erin are all having a fab time.

KHIN much symapathy on the growth spurt thing. G has been terrible at sleeping the last couple of nights and has fed loads more than usual. I look almost as knackered and ropey as I did when he was newborn. Must be even worse with DTs. You should get a medal!

MN has finally got to me! I bought a mooncup yesterday. The jury's still out on whether I like it or not, but i feel like such a lentil-weaver even typing the word!

Sorry to anyone I've forgotten or overlooked. Hope all are well.

Danny's passport arrived this morning, just 8 days from when I finally put application in using Check and Send service. Quite relieved, as afterwards I realised that if application was wrong would have to take corrected or new form all the way back to East Finchley.

Gmm at window cleaners! ILs very posh, pretty elderly neighbour got an eyeful on Sunday when he popped his head over the fence to say hello. He very quickly retreated muttering something about watering his greenhouse.

Have GMM and Katy given any more thought to meeting up in North East next week?
