2happy whats the reasoning behind name change

((((hugs))) wilkie there are lots of us here with dh who are at work in teh evening feel free to moan away

Wilkie · 11/07/2007 20:38

DH is home thank god cos J is awake again and absolutely screaming. Could this be teething???

I gave him Neurofen at 6.00pm.

TheChamberofCarrots · 11/07/2007 20:43

Sounds like it could be, Wilkie, he should settle with the painkillers then, hope it improves.

Jodie- thank goodness he's ok, what a worry.

RGee · 11/07/2007 21:52

Evening.
Had a lovely day today chez Vino. Thanks me dear for another smashing day. We went for a nice walk (no rain!) this morning by the canal, then chatted all afternoon. Was grumpy (PMT?) when I had to return home early to enable DH to play golf.
Remembered those eggs when I got home and thought about tea. Boo!! She gobbled up a whole mango instead. Well, when I say whole, obviously only about half cos I can't actually cut and prepare mango properly.

Wilkie - yup. I'm officially back to work on 20th, but have been unofficially doing a fair bit whilst on mat leave.
Has J settled yet? Teeth would be my initial thought. Pippa was a proper pita about a week before her teeth came through - she stopped sleeping but in the day only so it was easier to deal with than what you're going through.

Jodie - sorry you've had such a crappy few days. How are the patients bearing up and what about your stress level?

Loopy - Pippa is just like her mum and fairly antisocial. She even cried a lot at her Grandma this weekend which worries me with nursery fast approaching. I guess she will just have to get used to it. It's nice to be wanted though!

EaH - good luck at the docs tomorrow. Hope you get your ears sorted.
I think we are really lucky with our nursery. It's a private one at DH's work and they provide everything and it doesn't cost too much cos it's part of DH's benefit package. When I looked round I was overwhelmed by the size of it and how many activities they do. And providing all milk / food / nappies is a complete Brucie bonus.

UD - Vino's dad had a baby chick in his office when we visited them. Sooooo cute!

Carrot / 2Happy - is this some sort of Harry Blobber name change?

Think I definitely have PMT. DH came back from his game of golf this evening an hour after lo had gone to bed and casually mentioned that as we have nowt planned this weekend (last free weekend before October) he wants to play golf on Sunday. Now this is the chap who was on a golfing weekend last weekend. So for once I put my foot down. Am normally quite laid back about his going out but am really peed off.

TheChamberofCarrots · 12/07/2007 08:09

Morning

Hope all teeth and bumps are better, and have a good ay to any work goers.

TheChamberofCarrots · 12/07/2007 08:10

day, even

JodieG1 · 12/07/2007 08:32

Thanks everyone. I'm ok just worried about Ethan and Morgan's hand. Ethan fed more last night which is great and also just did a poo, don't think I've ever been so pleased so see a poo lol. He hadn't done one since Monday and he usually goes at least every day so this was also worrying. Just about to remove Morgan's bandage and see what it looks like. Dh is home today thankfully so he'll be helping.

Wilkie hope you're feeling better today. Will post more later.

Wilkie · 12/07/2007 08:37

RGee - you have every sympathy regarding Golf - try living with one that works 'golf' for a living. Joyous eh???

Well, last night was eventful, he went in his cot at 6.15pm, did CC till until 7.30pm ish (going in every 3,5,7,10 mins) when I gave in and cuddled him to sleep feeling lie the worst mother in the world.

The he woke again about 8.30pm and screamed and screamed so I bought him downstairs and he fell asleep in my arms until 10.30pm when I took him upstairs, sound asleep, managed to give him a 6oz dreamfeed and he slept through until I woke him at 7.30am.

Teething????? What an absolute nightmare. DH is home at 6.30pm tonight so at least I will have some support (other than you lovely ladies).

Carrot - got your facebook invitation last night thank you

Jodie - How is everything in your household today? Did DH fly off in the end?

UD/EAH - sorry about buggering off MSN last night

Loopy -

Where's Dragonhart gone to?? And Lizz - I need some cake

Wilkie · 12/07/2007 08:37

x-post Jodie

vinorouge · 12/07/2007 10:22

Think I might have done my last BF this morning. Only done first thing for last few days and this morning lo only had a few slurps. The other morning she BF for 30 mins which I can't be doing when I'm at work so think it will be bottles all the way from tomorrow. I've put a normal bra on for the first time today. It feels quite liberating!!! No idea if its the right size though.

Rgee - good on you for putting foot down re golf. You can have a nice family time instead.

E&H - I am going to give lo some of those carrot organix things today for the first time.

Off to puree some veg. Woo hoo!!!!

JodieG1 · 12/07/2007 10:35

Well poor Morgan, we took the bandage off and his hand looked all gunky so we took him to see the drs as an emergency an it's infected He's on antiobiotics and back to see the nurse this afternoon to see if it needs re-dressing and also about another tetatnus injection. He's been so brave as well and not made any fuss about it. Poor thing. Ethan seems a bit better at least now, feeding a bit more.

Wilkie - glad J got off to sleep, sometimes it's just easier to cuddle them to sleep, it's hard when you don't know what's wrong isn't it.

Have to run now, will try and do some more personals later.

I'm so cross at the moment and crying and its about work so that annoys me even more. My dr gave me a sick note to run until I'm due back at work on 30th so I've sent that in. My boss has just rung me and said 'so this happened just after you came in to see us' - I may be reading into it too much but I felt he was saying 'you were fine when we saw you and then suddenly you've got a bad back' I wouldn't wish the pain I've had on him even though he annoys me intensely most of the time cos he's so incompetent.

LadyTophamHatt · 12/07/2007 12:28

Afternoon Ladies, haven't got time for personals to everyone as we've put the house on the market so I need to clean the paint work so DH can paint over the gaps in the paint later.

Sorry to hear about Ethan and Morgan, Jodie. It sounds really bad with it being infected now...poor little thing. I hope Ethan doesn't need to go back, I'm sure he won't but I'[ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Wilkie, sorry to hear about the rough night with J, but glad he slept through in the end. I think you know how I feel about CC so I'm really glad you gave in.

G is having a major growth spurt and is mad mad mad teething. The 2nd tooth is just about to poke through the gum so he was a real grump yesterday. Ok again today now that it moved a little further up.
As for the growth spurt I wieghed him last Friday and he was 16lb15oz, went again today because I thought he was feeling a bit heffalumpy and he's 17lb12oz.....F* me I nearly fainted when i saw the scales!
He's been eating all sorts he can get his hand on...a chunk my bloody digestive biscuit at play group this morning for example.
DS3 was almost 9 months before he weight that and G isn't even 6months yet.

Anyway better get on with the paint work....I may be some time

TTFN..

Wilkie · 12/07/2007 13:42

Vino - crappy crap crap - give me a bell if you want a chat I'm in all afternoon

2Happy - what happened and what's with the new name??

LTH - yes, won't be trying CC again. Will figure out another way. Am trying different naps today so we'll see. Put him down for one at 10.30am and gonna do another after lunch about 3.30pm. Am also gonna put bedtime back to 6.30pm bath and take it from there.

EAH - busy lady!!

Jodie - bummer about poor M's hand. What a nightmare for you!!!!!

2HappyRotter · 12/07/2007 14:13

Sorry, just ds2 had his last jabs yesterday (only 7 weeks late, blooming surgery!) and has been really gurney today. Plus he'd lost weight when he was weighed yesterday - I've never never experienced this, ds1 has always been the size of a fully-grown heffalump, so it got me into a stir so I've been practically force-feeding the boy, including overnight so I'm now overtired and he's just confused and grumpy and not feeding properly and I should just never have gone near the flipping scales

(the name change is for Harry Potter BTW. The only good thing about feeding frenzies is I'll be finished the new book in about a day once it comes out!!)

Sorry to hear about Max's hand, Jodie, I think you're due a bit of a break from the bad luck now!

Vino - stupid boss, what does he think, that bad backs only come on gradually rather than just going like they do? Idiot. How to make you feel relaxed in your last bit of ML and really looking forward to going back to work!

theUrbanDryad · 12/07/2007 18:01

hiya everyone - just a quickie cause dh'll be home in a bit with sausages for tea (nom nom - bet you all thought we ate roast dinner all the time didn't you!) Zac is covered in bits of biscotti and Organic wotsits thingies. i bought a jar of puree today, just thought i would try him on it later but i haven't had a chance. i don't think i can be arsed with it, tbh. from what i know of my friends who have lo's the same age as Z, he won't eat hardly any of it and it'll make his poo manky, and it wasn't cheap so I don't want to waste it! think i may donate it to my friend who is doing puree weaning!

2Happy - am of your name. i've been trying to think of a Harry Potter-esque name but i can't. i've got my Halloween name sorted though! nothing like thinking ahead eh?

vinorouge · 12/07/2007 20:05

Wilkie - I was out this aft for Ellens swimming lesson. One new thing this week was me doing breaststroke with her lying on my back attemtping to hold my neck. She just spluttered dmost of the time!!

Going to try a new bottle and food timetable tomorrow to try and formulate some sort of routine to give to nursery.

2HappyRotter · 12/07/2007 20:09

theUmbridgeDryad?

Wilkie · 12/07/2007 20:19

Well, the new routine went well in the Wilkie household today. Three meals today too. And went down without a peep.

Fingers crossed this is not just a fluke!!!!!!!!!!!

trixymalixy · 12/07/2007 20:28

Hi, haven't been on for ages as I'm desperately trying to re-read the last Harry Potter before the new one comes out. Can't wait!!

Loving the Harry Potter names. Will have to put my thinking cap on for one for me!!!

DS has been a right grump all week. Don't know if it's teething or hunger or what. I'm going to start weaning tomorrow hoping it will cheer him up. Have been leaving it till then as DH is working in Portsmouth at the moment and wanted to be there for his first solids.

Jodie - sounds like you've been having a right nightmare. Hope they are both well.

2happy - Hope your DS cheers up as well.

Wilkie - Hope J went down easier tonight. We were having a right nightmare getting DS to sleep until it clicked that he just wasn't tired and I adjusted his nap times accordingly. I just hadn't been keeping up with the fact that he could stay awake for longer.

Vino - at your boss. People just don't understand how debilitating a bad back is until it happens to them.

LTH - good luck with the house sale! That's some weight gain!! What have you been feeding him, protein shakes LOL!!

vinorouge · 12/07/2007 20:34

Was there a special drink in harry potter? muggle juice or something? maybe that could be my new / altered name

Wilkie - I was out at swimming this aft but thanks for the . New thing today was me doing breast stroke with Ellen on my back attemopting to hold onto my neck. She did a lot of spluttering! hope the new bedtime routine has gone ok for you. Ellen is always exhausted after swimming so was soon asleep tonight.

I really must make our tea.DH out at footie and I'm not really hungry.
