I'm bored.
DP is off sick today with the most horrendous thing ever. He was out last Tuesday evening playing golf, and got bitten. Last Wednesday morning, they looked fairly large and sore, and by last Friday, they were huge big black hole bites with red wine stain birth marks all around each of the 6 or 7 bites and his leg was fairly swollen, as was his elbow (randomly) he took day off sick to see Dr. Dr said it was a nasty french mosquito which had bitten to him and the swollen elbow was the result of a parasitic infection from it. Bites subsided a bit over weekend, then he came home last night, a whole week later from getting the bites, with a bright red rash up both legs, covered in blisters which later started weeping. Nice. Went to Drs again today who reckoned its sandflies and upped his dose of amoycillin to penecillin, and upped doseage of anti histamine. GROSS GROSS GROSS.
moral of the story...dont let DPs out to play golf its dangerous for their health.

GobletOfRouge · 18/07/2007 14:46

I'll join you with a g&t....

I managed to avoid the rain whilst in Morrisons but it wasn't a very interesting trip out. I left the stuff at home that I wanted to photocopy at the library and forgot to pay two cheques in.

Can't be arsed to do anything now. Ironing is done. Washing up isn't.

GobletOfRouge · 18/07/2007 14:47

About to look up how to write a will online

canmummy · 18/07/2007 14:55

Phew I still can't keep up with you all!!

DD3 not sitting yet, refuses more than half a spoon of any food I try to give her and gone back to not sleeping through.....

.....pass us the vodka!

I need to go and get dressed to pick dd2 up from nursery - I got so wet dropping her off I've been sat here all afternoon in my dressing gown! Of course now the sun is shining again and my hair and mascara seriously need sorting out in the next 5 mins! Eek!

eandh · 18/07/2007 15:01

rgee they said I coud pick it up today when it had been valeted but would have to take their insurance and I didnt want to do that plus I need to empty cds/car seats/buggy/emergency pack etc out of our car and it'll be nice to have it on saturday morning (going to pick it up at 9)

2HappyRotter · 18/07/2007 15:14

Lizzz - he hasn't got ny joint pains, has he?

I just managed to get both boys to sleep, hurrah, thought I'd have a cheeky nap myself, fecking doorbell rang. No chance now, ds1'll wake up in 15.

Shall we start on the cocktails next, ladies?

Lizzzombie · 18/07/2007 15:15

also...as DP off sick in bed, its made me realise that I can never be ill.
who looks after LO's if we are ill???? hmm

Lizzzombie · 18/07/2007 15:16

no joint pain - that could indicate the west nile sickness thing. he is really cold though and has been asleep for most of the day.

GobletOfRouge · 18/07/2007 15:20

DP/DH's would have to take the day off to look after LO's if we were ill

Am pi**ed off with the cat next door as it just had the cheek to walk into my kitchen (got the door open its so hot) so I shouted GET OUT to it and woke Ellen up who had taken ages to drift off and is now wailing....

EAH I lurve the new wheels. You are a right haggler aren't you??

2HappyRotter · 18/07/2007 15:27

(from random info picked up from dh sometime ago, why do I remember this but can never remember people's names?!) - you can get Lyme disease from tick bites, it causes a rash and flu like illness, plus joint pains and some other stuff. The ticks get it from deer, so if he was playing golf near anywhere there are deer... ok, that's not very likely is it? I'll shut up now. Tell him that looking after the kids would take his mind off how poorly he feels!

WilkiesWizardWheezes · 18/07/2007 16:27

Or how about if you are both ill (remember DH and me had food poisoning at same time when J was 4 weeks old). NIGHTMARE!!!!

J's head fine. He's a rufty tufty.

Bored and fed up ATM, mum and grandma left and J is crawling around the floor wailing but doesn't want to be picked up/sat/stood so am ignoring him .

Pass us some voddie....

2HappyRotter · 18/07/2007 18:37

Tequila slammers anyone?

hic

geoRGEEweasley · 18/07/2007 18:41

A SOCO over hear(Wilkie not Carrot version please ).

Needless to say it is a glorious afternoon and DH is golfing (being bitten as we speak??). However, it pi$$ed it down on me when I was out. Harumph!

geoRGEEweasley · 18/07/2007 18:42

My God! What HAS happened to my grammar and spelling? Over here not hear. Must be all those vodkas

Lizzzombie · 18/07/2007 19:06

I am a lightweight. Have a bottle of stollie in the freezer, still unopend. Am to scared to drink vodka in case I drop the baby.
Wine, pimms, beer, gin, anything else is fine....big old fat scardy cat. I may make vodka jellies with it instead...

coz those won't get me drunk! doh!

JodieG1 · 18/07/2007 19:28

Quick message from me. Dh is in Italy now, left this morning adn is back on Friday late afternoon hopefully. Sigh why won't Ethan go to sleep and let me enjoy some time alone for a change lol. I'm sure he knows and so won't go to sleep on purpose, evil baby lol.

JodieG1 · 18/07/2007 19:33

Oh and illness, I had severe mastitis when Ethan was almost 4 weeks old and dh had a vasectomy Neither of us were well but didn't have much choice. My parents had the older two for a night but we still ahd Ethan.

Haven't had a chance to read anymore posts yet.

TheChamberofCarrots · 18/07/2007 20:04

I have never tried vodka jelly, my mother likes them I think, mind you I don't much like jelly, or vodka either as it happens. We used to drink it neat from the freezer when I was much younger but I rarely fancy it now. If I fancy a spirit it is usually gin and tonic.

Took F to the doctors this morning as he is quite wheezy now. I wondered about allergy testing after the funny rash/egg thing, had I mentioned that? His feet and hands went all blotchy and hivey after I ate a boiled egg (holding him at a party) and that was the only thing I could think of to cause it. I think there may have been some hidden wheats in things I've eaten recently too. Rather than this continuous speculation about what he could be allergic to I thought he should have tests but GP says they are hard to do on babies. She has referred him to a peadiatrician so hopefully they can shed some light on it. She said his chest was very wheezy, uh, yes, I know, that's why I brought him Who knows how long that will be though.

I would like to know if it is egg, especially as the MMR is based in egg, not that we've had the other ones yet but we will, slowly. I think you can still have them but it has to be at the hospital in case of anaphylaxis (sp?)

Dragonhart · 18/07/2007 20:10

Hope DH is feeling better soon Lizz. I am a hopeless nurse. I can be sypathetic for about half a day then I just get impatient. Sometimes cross even DH isnt even a whinger so when he is ill he is ill, poor DH!

Well, an eventfull day in the Dragon house today. Ruth had her first food, gave her some pureed veg for lunch and dinner. Decided against BLW as TBH I just want to get on with it. She couldnt feed herself when I gave her a carrot stick and even though I know the idea of BLW is that 'its only fun til they are one' but I dont want to be bfeeding her like I am now at one! Purely for selfish reasons. Also I quite enjoy doing purees, had forgoten how much!

Hopefully it will mean that we will start to eat better again. Luke had def been better behaved now he is at home and eating our diet rather than MILs.

Also, Ruth has gone to sleep in her own room for the first time! Put her in a sleeping bag gave her a feed, then a hug, put her down and she fell asleep on her own!!!

She is normally good but I thought it would take ages but suppose she likes her new room. Either that or in half an hour she will be wailing with tummy ache from her first food!

Love the new car EAH. My mum has one and I think they are great. Bargin also!

Dragonhart · 18/07/2007 20:12

Poor F carrot. Hope the appt comes fast. xxx

laughalot · 18/07/2007 20:13

Evening all work was ok today it was brightend up by a phone call from a sweet little girl telling me all about a new car her mummy bought and how she had been so well behaved whilst mummy was busy , well that is a bit of a lie I got the call but turned my phone off just in time before my boss had my guts for garters !!! Only kidding eah for some reason when my phone is on silent my texts are ok but if someone rings it rings aloud hee hee I thought why is mich ringing me .

Does anyone like baileys cheeskecake nom nom my favourite.

Well best go wash pots then sort bags for work again bye bye

Lizzzombie · 18/07/2007 20:45

LaL - Baileys cheesecake? where can you get that from? (there goes my 1.5 stone shedding!)
MrsC - hope the weezing doesnt get worse. Could it be the heat? (like hayfever/allergens sort of thing?) or is it just Eastbourne that is roasting at the moment?
Dragon - yay - big girls food and big girls bed in one day, very grown up. DJ still spits out anything other than babyrice. I am perservering, but I cant see myself doing BLW for ages, I would have no idea what to do if he choked on a carrot stick or something.
Jodie - hope you have a nice peaceful (!?) time whilst DH is away.

Does anyone know where UD and Shimmer have gone too?

canmummy · 18/07/2007 20:57

Lizzz - after my earlier posting of lo not eating a thing I gave her some pureed chilli con carne at tea-time (obviously minus the chilli powder) and she loved it!
