new thread, sorry for the unimaginative title!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Baby acne. My friends baby had it about 6 weeks. Just their skin reacting to the harsh, horrid, nasty outside world that is apparently still there.

How are you doing Holly?

FWIW I had a couple of similar incidents with my DP. Am happy to talk on email if you need any supprt.

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 19:00

my mobile is from the dark ages and doesn't do pics . been meaning to upgrade but the vodafone shop in sainsbury's shut down and can't be arsed going in to town!

your pink ranger sounds great!

sleeping sounds great, toe curling latch will pass.

day three tomorrow....be gentle with yourself

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 19:02

Well done for pooing foxy, hope it wasn't too awful! I have the toe curling latch on thing too, the initial pain is so hideous, but luckily goes after a few secs.

I can't eat my dinner and bf. I always spill it on him! When the mw came the other day he was covered in bean juice!

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 19:02

cheers foxy....thought it was something and nothing.

holly, on me for not asking how you are. hope things go ok for your dp at work next week.

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:02

only if you promise to take your own advice Daisy!!!

What act of self-kindness has everyone done for themselves today then?

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 19:09

I am feeling better about it today foxy. What will be will be, I can't change or do anything. I just hope it goes ok for him on weds. On the bright side he has mon and tues off work so I can get him to do some housework! Thanks foxy!!

My ds is sometimes v spotty daisy, nothing to worry about. I saw the dr yesterday about his jaundice and he said the spots were normal.

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 19:10

That's ok daisy! You ladies are so lovely, I wish we all lived in the same town!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 14/07/2007 19:10

Hi
Can someone please tell me this gets easier?
My little fella just wants to eat all the time! My tit is out all day!
Is there any way you can power feed? He feeds for about half an hour - then drifts off for about 5 mins - then wants more? Don't know how I'm going to do this breastfeeding thing in public - my boobs are HUGE and if their not out he crys!!!

Hope everyone is ok? Not had time to catch up with the latest news - I'm so out of touch with you all.
DH goes back to work on Monday and have blocked as many visitors as poss for next week - so my little man and I can spend some time alone together - so should be able to keep in touch more.

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 19:13

acts of self kindness.....

....sent the boys out of the house for the day so i didn't have to listen to my whinging DS

...gave myself a manicure

...had takeaway for tea

...DH going to give babyboo a bottle (of formula if need be) and sleep downstairs with her so i can have a full night's sleep

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 19:15

Hey dkma! Honestly it really does get easier, just keep going. The first few weeks are the worst, once you come out the other side it will all seem much brighter!

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:15

If we all lived in the same town we'd get even less done!

Hi DKMA! Are you getting out and about much?

My DP announced he's back to work in a week . I knew he was away last w'end of July, but that's only a week of pat leave!

He will be doing my head in by then (obviously) but I'll have to look after ALL these kids ON MY OWN!

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:16

Perfect Daisy!! Well done - make sure you get an early night won't you? Lucky thing!

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 19:19

Oooo...good one daisy! Hope you have a lovely sleep, I bet you'll be able to express loads of milk in the morning!

I can't do this because dp is such a heavy sleeper he doesn't get woken up by crying babies!

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 19:22

hi dkma.....you sound frazzled. it gets easier, then it gets a bit harder, then it gets easier again.

babyboo had a growth spurt at 3 weeks and fed constantly for a couple of days, it will settle down.

how's the little fella doing otherwise?

take to your bed with him for a few days of babymooning and don't answer the phone, its lovely

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:23

Its amazing how many men can do that! Suppose they need to preserve their strength for all that hunting and gathering they have to do out of the cave

When Eve was 2 hours old, DP fell asleep holding her on the sofa, as she slowly slipped down ..... luckily for him, I was there.

I had my "WHOOOSH BAM" with her today. And a 'OMG this is the last time I'm going to do this' wobble!

And it is. It really, really is.
Honestly.
I mean that.
.....

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 19:24

the april ladies are organising a massive meet up in the middle of the country.....we should do the same.

they're meeting in Leeds....sounds perfect to me, lol!

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:27

I agree with Daisy, DKMA. Or are you going stir crazy? If you can get out and about tomorrow, then perhaps spend Monday in chilling out? Or put him in a sling and go for a walk?

(I prefer the sling option at this stage as I don't want anyone else peering in at them! How sad am I?!) She's mine, all mine!!!

If you plan a couple of gentle things for the first few days, you'll hopefully take the fear away and enjoy it. Can anyone come round for a cuppa? (This will now form the basis of your social life for the next 3 years!!!)

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 19:27

I'd love to do that daisy, we should all get hotel rooms with our dps and go on the piss whilst they look after the los!

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:29

No. Absolutely not. Not with our DPs track records for misbehaving whilst drunk Holly!!!

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:29

Oh.

WE go on the piss.

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:30

How down-trodden am I??? LOL

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 19:32

Yes foxy- WE go on the piss! My dp is NEVER drinking again! EVER!

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 19:34

no, bring sleeping bags and travel cots and all stay at mine....

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 19:35

oooh, a sleep-over!
