LOL at putting your baby in a cupboard!

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 12:09

but you don't know where i live!!!!

derlor · 14/07/2007 12:13

so long as the broom doesn't fall on her head i have no immediate concerns regarding this Daisy!!!!!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/07/2007 12:14

Thanks for encouragement Holly - sorry loony - yeah hope will be worth it in the end. Hard to understand why smth so natural is so difficult & you are right, no one really prepares you for it.

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 12:14

Not yet!! I know your name though! Hahaha!

I am sooooo hungry! I hope the tesco van turns up at one not three otherwise I will seriously die of starvation! I am going to start tucking into alice's organix cereal bars in a min, they are the only food we have left!

derlor · 14/07/2007 12:17

LOOK this is what kellymom advises for itchy nipples.........Mix 1 tablespoon white vinegar with about a cup of water. Lean over the cup and soak nipple in it for a minute or so, then stand over the sink and pour it slowly over the nipple. This can bring immediate relief. bet you'd smell FAB!!!!!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/07/2007 12:20

I wondered about that feeling too - sort of tingly, but not nice tingly, more pins & needles. Glad we're all in the same boat.

Have tried the swaddle Derlor but she's not keen & fights to get out. Have a grobag but so far she's been too little to use it. Now she's put on a bit of weight should be able to give it a go.

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 12:21

right, thanks for the advice, support and general calming influence, you lovely lot. I'm off for a shower while i get the chance.....probably babyboo is being fussy with me as i smell so rank I don't smell like mum anymore

and for the record i would never put babyboo in the broom cupboard.......

....she's in the garden shed instead

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/07/2007 12:21

Ha- I already stink of sour milk & baby sick, what's a little vinegar.

derlor · 14/07/2007 12:29

tallulah, have your tried to swaddle her quite tight (both arms in the swaddle) then, don't put her straight down, hold her close and ssshhhhhh her. It is important that YOU stay very relaxed, calm and quiet, do this in a darkened room and only when she is secure and sleepy, put her down. if she cries and fusses at this point, walk away for a few mins (5-10 if you can handle it) to see if she calms down. if not then go back to her. Don't lift her but stroke her face and sshhhhh again, she SHOULD calm down this way
This will work if she is fed, changed and winded - obviously if she "needs" something then she will continue to screem!

derlor · 14/07/2007 12:31

right, Lunch - Holly hope Tesco arrives soon.
oh my babies should be back in about an hour >>>>

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/07/2007 12:37

Thanks D - will try it that way. She does tend to scream whenever put down, even when seems to be already asleep. Exception being at night when she will eventually settle & sleep quite well. Thankfully.

Enjoy your reunion

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 13:09

babyboo has had a one hour power nap and is up looking for food again! i want to try and express so dh can do the night shift, but she isn't giving me the chance today

foxybrown · 14/07/2007 13:38

hello everyone

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 13:38

I was just reading that bfing thread you posted on last night daisy! I love mn, it makes me chuckle!

Glad babyboo had a sleep. Hopefully she is just going through a growth spurt and it'll get better in a few days. (((hugs)))

Where's the farking tesco van? I'm starving!

loonylovegood · 14/07/2007 13:38

lol foxy!

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 14:09

now babyboo has a pimply rash all over her face and behind her ears and has had another explosive nappy. think she might have a bit of a viral infection as her temp is up too.

dh has taken her into the garden for a bit to give me a bit of a break.

and now has an appreciation of why i get nothing done through the week!

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 14:12

holly I don't know why I felt the urge to comment. swore i would stay away from thorny subjects, but i was bored sat on the sofa with bub attached to nork while dh went off for an early night.

bless him, he does get very tired

bumperlicious · 14/07/2007 14:59

Hi all, seems like we are all suffering with similar problems. I think my sore nips are to do with my let down, but again, it's not when I expect it, sometimes about half hour after a feed. Farking hurts! And it's both at the same time, even if I think we have had a good latch.

We are also struggling ot get DD settled during the day. She is ok being held or in the sling, but won't sleep in her basket during the day.

How are you feeling foxy? Hope you are all doing ok.

Just been into town on my own, felt anxious the whole time! Think it's the feeding thing. Plus I need a badge that says "I've just had a baby, that's why I am fat and look like shit - be nice to me or I will cry!"

We are going to a BBQ this evening, all people my age, sans children. Taking DD but very anxious about it. Not sure why, but it will be the first time some of my friend have met her, and there maybe strangers and possibly someone I really don't like there. not sure how I will cope, not good at the social thing at the moment.

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 15:17

bumper...its the new mum thing...you'll feel like that about being separated from hr for ages....

try to enjoy the bbq, i'm sure you'll feel fine when you get there. and im sure the host will have a comfy chair in a quiet spot should you need to feed her. thankfully babyboo has slept throgh alk her social engagemenrs thus far!

typing thi left handed.only....can you tell

yup she's feeding again. she has slept for abourt an hour and a half since 8 this morning.

i believe its a nice day out there...at leas it looks nice out of the windoow from the sofa

bumperlicious · 14/07/2007 15:21

it seems pretty windy out there actually daisy, and you'd only get attacked by a wasp or something! Enjoy the view without the sunburn and bugs!

Just bought some new clothes as am sick or wearing bloody leggings and vests (not flattering wit hmy thighs at the moment!). Weirdly ranging in sizes from 10 (dresses from primark) to 16 (some comfy linen trousers from dp)

OP posts:
daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 15:51

why is it that bits of you that looked ok when pg suddenly look horrendous now you're not pg...specifically thighs and upper arms. mine didn't look fat when pg, but they do now . is it some kind of optical illusiony effect.

she's gone off to sleep again....fingers crossed its for longer than 15 mintes this time.

DP sizes are always on the nippy side so don't feel too at the trousers. I tried on some linen ones from there for the wedding last week and they were an 18. I'm usu a 14 so was well pissed off! must hot foot it down to Primark though...do they do short arse leg lenghts? speaking from one short arse to another

Right, off out into the garden for some fresh air.

daisyandbabybootoo · 14/07/2007 15:55

Oh FFS...she's woken up agaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiin

my norks can't take any more of this abuse!

annobal · 14/07/2007 15:57

Hi everyone - am having a very boring day as DH has taken T&G to the park and I've finished my book. Poor DS3 is tired and fast asleep after keeping me awake all night

Poor babyboo Daisy. Could be why she's feeding so much?

Bumper, have you tried homeopathic for nips? In my birth kit it recommends phytolacca 200c for 'painful, radiating pain from nipple'.

annobal · 14/07/2007 15:59
