there are 2 sets of dates in Leeds, some schools not finishing til a week later

and the scottish ladies have children back at school in August, much earlier than us

so i've kept it late july/early augst

Hi JoMa, just wanted to second Lesley in that roundhay park & tropical world will be much easier for people to get to than temple newsam (by public transport). There's also the roundhay fox pub there which we might be able to book or something in case of rain (the cafe at tropical world is quite small)

Still up, still feel sick.

Roundhay Fox is excellent pub for food but it gets absolutely packed at weekends esp if it's sunny.

do they have a function room?

Don't think so. It is a very big pub all on one level. Longest we've had to wait for a table was 30 mins (there were 4 of us). It's so busy at weekends that they don't take bookings, just take your name when you arrive if there's nothing available.

Meant to say "dont take bookings".

maybe not much good for all of us then!

not sure if they have a function room but the pub has lots of sections to it so they may be able to section off part of it for us IYSWIM?

Probably not. It's a shame as the food is yummy and they're v. child-friendly. Just not set up for big groups.

On the page where we're putting down which options we can attend, do you think we should put numbers (i.e. include Dh/p's & dcs etc)?

Been trying to think of places near park. Might have to go and do a recce. Roundhay Park is in a very posh part of Leeds so needless to say I rarely eat out or drink round there. Just go to park and occasionally to the Fox for Sunday lunch.

Only place I could think of was [http://www.theflyingpizza.co.uk/Default.htm The Flying Pizza] never eaten there but car park always has mercs and ferraris etc. Maybe not
