HELP!!!!!!

Car seat question - whcih car seat do you have your preschoolers in? DS1 outgrowing Britax Duo Isofix and I need the next one up he is 3.6. What do you use?

I have had a look at thw Which 2007 report and I have no idea

WestCountryLass · 02/07/2007 20:50

I've got a Graco high backed booster. When they are older you can take the back off and use it jsut as a booster. Most of the people I know have this booster seat

WestCountryLass · 02/07/2007 20:55

Sorry for being AWOL.

Leo has had conjunctivitis and is generally a bit under the weather.

DS1 has some sort of virus and has been ill for nearly two weeks. He has been weeing lots for a while, then got conjunctivitis, about a week ago started feeling really tired. He was off school as too tired to go and took him along to the Drs with Leo about the conjunctivitis, asked them to do a urine dip stick and he has a UTI.

Went back to the Drs today as had very high temps over weekend and he is now on antibiotics and a urine sample has been sent off to lab. If he is no better he will have to have scans and bloods done mid-week.

Fingers crossed the antibiotics do the trick please ladies.

I am not sure what make our car seats are; but like WCL, I know the backs come off to leave a booster for when they are too big for the actualy car seat. Perhaps your DS just needs a booster now?? Go to Halfords & ask someone - that is what I would do.

CaptainDippy · 02/07/2007 20:58

Gosh, WCL - you've been having a right time of it, hon. {{{{hugs}}}} Praying there's an end soon .......

Sexonknackeredlegs · 02/07/2007 21:07

WCL, really sorry to hear things have been rough health wise. Fingers crossed the ab's work and that you are all better soon.

Ooogs, we got one from Halfords. Not sure what make it is but has an adjustable/removable headrest which can be taken off when they get too tall. It also has a pull out thing to put a drink in. It was only about 40 quid, and we are really pleased with it.

How is everyone tonight?

All ok here. Both girls have been good today, and I have not had to shout once!

oooggs · 02/07/2007 21:15

WCL - hope things get better

SOKL - Glad B has improved, ds1 has too, it is great

all ok here

Sexonknackeredlegs · 02/07/2007 21:23

Ooogs, it is so nice not to have a shouting match with B. She was so helpful this morning - long may it last.

I am going to bed I think. Have been feeling a bit under the weather - as if coming down with a chest infection - no cough, but just feels tight in my chest.

Sleep well all. xx

oooggs · 02/07/2007 21:28

at last sokl we have both turned the corner (I hope) with the older ones

Night

CaptainDippy · 02/07/2007 21:28

Great stuff SOKL! Hoping the chest doesn't get wrose hon - lots of it going round atm - yuk!

Anyone around?? DH out & I'm lonely .......

CaptainDippy · 02/07/2007 21:29

Hi oooggs - how goes it??

elkiedee · 02/07/2007 21:32

WCL, hope things improve with your kids soon.

SOKL, glad to hear you've been having a better day.

I met a woman I came across on mumsnet and her baby for lunch in the park today, as she lives about a mile away and was bringing him down this way for jabs.

I made Danny's 2 month injections appointment, only problem is that our practice's clinic is on Fridays. We're not here this week which is the 6th, and next week is the 13th. I must try not to be superstitious.

Saw the bf counsellor, actually infant feeding coordinator, and she was fairly honest with me, there's a small window of opportunity for increasing my supply of breast milk, it will probably be that kind of compromise, and I will need to work quite hard. She also showed me how to do hand expression. I will give it a go but I'm not getting too excited. However, I was glad of the opportunity to talk to her, and I hope the fact that she's part of the NHS structures means that my views on what happened actually go through to the hospital as well (long story).

Norma/nutty, yes, I'm still planning to come up to Leeds/Ilkley, so long as floods don't prevent me getting there. Looking forward to it a lot, though I'm a bit nervous about how we're going to carry/pack our stuff - trickiest part of the journey will be getting to and from Kings Cross.

elkiedee · 02/07/2007 21:33

CD, are all the kids settled then?

JoMa · 02/07/2007 21:34

oooggs, they are still supposed to use the booster with back attached at ds age, it's what we have for Matthew. Get one with the seat belt clip so that it guides it away from his neck.
