Peace at last in the pebble household, well until the ds's come in for bed that is. My nighbour came and rescued me and told all the children (by this time there were 10 in there) that it was time for Alana to go to bed and they all cleared off over to her house lol. Alana is now asleep and ive got 5mins to relax before i need to feed her and get the boys in, .ay have to pinch one of dh's beers and make myself an ice cold shandy (its too early for anything stronger lol)

AbbyLou · 16/07/2007 19:52

It sounds mad in your house Pebble, but I think I'd like it to be like that here when the kids get older. It must be nice to know your home is a place where kids feel comfortable. I guess it's when you have to start doling out drinks, biscuits, ice lollies etc it gets a bit much.
MKG hope Beckham mania is not getting too hysterical over there - don't know what it is about that pair!
LG&T I am so excited about CP. We've never been and it should be great for ds and lovely just to relax. You must have taken out a 2nd mortgage to take your lot, I can't believe how expensive it is.

largeginandtonic · 16/07/2007 20:20

We had a sainsbury's code to save 20% and once you have been you get emails from them for various offers. They are good at tempting you back

Pebble that sounds like my house, we have bunnies (not a trampoline) that frequently draw in the crowds. As does Beau at the moment, sure it will wear off.

I had the younger 2 in bed by 7, they were soooo grumpy. The weekend catching up with little Jonah i think and Hugo is just a little terror at the moment. I find him a challenge...

My best friend just phoned and told me she is having a boy. I was sure it was a pink one, my radar must be off. I'm so pleased for her, she has 3 boy's and really wanted another. (she is just like me) Only another 20weeks to go i told her, hehe.

I feel the need for a glass of vino blanc.....

largeginandtonic · 16/07/2007 20:23

MKG i know what you mean about wanting another baby, i am so broody, it is just ridiculous! IHAVE A BABY!!!!!!

juliewoolie · 16/07/2007 21:16

LG&T i know what you mean although a few weeks ago I said to my DP no way never again. It has slowly crept up on me and I defo want another baby.

Pebble your house sounds just like mine when I was little - 1 of 4 girls and there was always masses of kids everywhere. I really cherish the memories of that time so am sure your LO's will do too.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 16/07/2007 22:07

Still don't want another here yet........ Infact I'd give one away any takers for a really very cute, VERY well behaved, Very adorable nearly 2y old?

Mrsjaffabiffa · 16/07/2007 22:07

It's a pink one too..................?

madeindevon2 · 17/07/2007 09:41

if you were formula feeding a 6 week old weighing 12lb how much would you be giving them?

Pebblemum · 17/07/2007 09:41

Morning all

Alana slept from 10pm last night (fed at 12.30am while still half asleep) and didnt wake up until 8.45am and that was only because i woke her. She had hardly slept from 4pm yesterday so I guess it caught up with her. She wasnt even screaming for food when I woke her up like she normally does after a long sleep.

Ive decided to be mean today and make my garden a kid free zone. Got up this morning, looked out of the kitchen window and saw that the net enclosure around the trampoline has been ripped, the kids had already broken the zip which means the they can fall out if their are not careful. Im not amused, the enclosures cost about the same as the trampolines I also have a sand covered patio but I already knew about that, I just didnt get chance to sweep it all up last night and so now its wet where it rained last night, oops.

DS1 and his (girl) friend are going to watch Portsmouth play a pre-season friendly with our local football team, The Hawks tonight so Im hoping it wont rain for them. His friends mum takes them every year. I went the first time and for someone who doesnt like football I enjoyed it. It had nothing to do with all the big strapping footballers I got to meet before the game, honestly (ds had me chasing them for autographs!!) Ive got to go out and get him a new autograph book for tonight, his other one is full up (not that you can tell whose autograph is whose they all just look like squiggles)

Oh well i guess i should get ready to go shopping, normally do it on Wednesday mornings but A and ds2 have their injections tomorrow, think i will stock up on Calpol. I must be mad getting them both done at the same time.

Lupins71 · 17/07/2007 09:56

MID Arlen is about 7 weeks his due date age and was 10.2 couple of weeks ago so must be nearly 12 by now, he has 6oz, but it says on the sma tin he should be on 5 X 5oz feeds, but he has nearer 8 X 6oz feeds, so i have started giving him food the last few days as hes real age is 3months 3 weeks this week and he is managing fine, I was told by the HV if you are feeding aptimil they will drink more as its not a heavy milk and will need more to fill them up, was also told I could give sma 2 but it didnt agree with him - gave him the runs, dont know if this helps you?

Pebble grrrr at other kids messing up your garden, oh and thanks for reminding me must book dd's booster

Are you all crazy, how can you be thinking on having another baby yet????????????????????????????? The thought fills me with dread and sends me into cold sweats

Last day of preschool and we have all overslept, must try and get her there for the afternoon, Arlen is loving his food, its the tiniest amount but he's slurping it up and still drinking all his milk, also been making sure he has 1-2oz water in the dayin case of contapation - not a problem yet

Have a good dat all xx

BefSnork · 17/07/2007 13:00

madeindevon2 · 17/07/2007 15:54

thanks. am BF but have been sxpressing too so dh can give him some.
has been having about 4.5 oz but sometimes wants boob too. looks like i should be aiming for 5 or 6 oz then.
also re water....should i be giving my LO water during the day?
and when is it ok to try baby on babyrice??

q's q's sry!

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/07/2007 17:14

MID You don't need to offer a BF baby water. The foremilk is their drink. Often why babies want to feed more often when it is hot.
The recomenations for weaning, ie baby rice is now 6mths. It always used to be 4 but in the last three years "they" decided that upto 6mths a baby needs nothing other than milk. This is not always the case though as I'm sure others will contest. h was 4mths when I weaned him. I tried M at 4mths too but she was not interested so I left it until just after 6mths and she was happy then. I think the later you leave it the more you'll recognise they are ready for it. Signs such as them watching you eat, trying to get food that you have etc.... It also insures that their digestive system is mature enough to cope with solids. Hth

Pebble, good for you keeping your garden child free today. Everyone needs a break occasionally.

Lupins71 · 17/07/2007 17:35

MID i agree with everything pebble has said, if your baby is fine on milk then carry on with that, dd was just under 4 months when weaned and she was prem - A is the same, but as a parent you use your own judgment i think, i suspect alot would say its way to early but A is such a hungry baby and he knows what to do and is still weeing and pooing fine - had there been any problem i would have stopped and will still stop if he fails to thrive, I know lgt weaned the twins very early as well

Lupins71 · 17/07/2007 17:36

sorry meant mjb not pebble - can you tell im excited to be going out for the 1st time in over a year woooooo hooooooo

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/07/2007 17:57

Lups

can anyone help me???? Lups I know you are a bit of an ebayer, you might know? if it says delivery uk or united states etc is that all they will do? Will they only deliver world wide if it states it or can you ask the seller to send abroard if you pay the postage? Sounds a bit waffely, sorry but I'm desparately trying to sort maddies 2nd b-day present out. We want to get her the pink cozy coupe car from little tykes. Mothercare do them and will deliver abroard but guesse what? None available on line at the moment. Didn't have room in the car when we were back, boo hoo. Amazon only do the red and yellow one and they are the only 2 shops I can find that will deliver to Europe. There are a few on e-bay but none that say worldwide delivery.

Pebblemum · 17/07/2007 18:32

MrsJB Try emailing the sellers, sometimes you find they are a lot more flexible with the postage than they actually mention on the auction.

Ive got to try to stay away from ebay, i seem to be getting addicted lol, its the adrenelin rush of those last few minutes when you are trying to outbid your rivals

Well ds1 has gone to watch the football match and ds2 is out to play so its definately a lot more peaceful in my house today than yesterday although i have had kids knocking my door every few minutes asking to go in the garden.

aprilmeadow · 17/07/2007 18:50

I am addicted to ebay. Have been selling loads of things on there recently. Ella's clothes for tiny baby, maternity clothes, dresses i dont wear anymore etc etc I also have a pile of things that i need to list!

I have decided to wait until Ella is 6mths before weaning for purely selfish reasons (well that is unless she wants to have food that is). We are off to Lanzarote in October and i dont fancy having to take ten ton of rice and jars with us, will have enough crap as it is!

Am off to see Harry Potter tomorrow night YAY and then on Thursday i am taking Ella to her first swimming lesson then after that she is going for her 2nd jabs

Mrsjaffabiffa · 17/07/2007 19:28

I want to see harry Potter with you AM

cameroonmama · 17/07/2007 19:36

hello everyone, welcome back home mrsJB, hope the wedding went well. Just a quick one from me, because we are going out!!! There is an arts festival in town and we are going to listen to some jazz - what sophistication April - did my little parcel turn up?

cameroonmama · 17/07/2007 19:40

just got your email AM, glad it turned up Hope they can be of some use.

aprilmeadow · 17/07/2007 20:05

Thank you Cam, all the little bits are lovely. I love the shoes

juliewoolie · 17/07/2007 21:12

Woo ho I have such a lovely DP. He has booked a table for us at a posh restruant on Friday night. My parents are coming to babysit. Now all I have to do is find something to wear other than jeans and that fits over my jelly belly and big bum.

Lupins71 · 17/07/2007 23:22

MJB wont hurt to contact the seller and see if they will deliver to you - it is no more difficult for them to sort out a courier as long as you are willing to pay, alternativly if you find out how much it is to ship it then you could always have it sent to me and i could ship it to you, where abouts are they? I know you are paying twice for postage that way but if you get stuck i am happy to help out

I have just had a fab evening out with my longest standing friend - we have known each other since we were 13 - trust me it was ages ago she took me for delicious italian meal, was gutted tho because the triple belgium chocolate torte i ordered had alchohol in it and i am not supposed to have any - did manage about 5 large bites, it was sooooooooooo yummy but i had to be good, then we went to santa fe for mango smoothies - delicious mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, it was so nice just to relax and be away from it all for a few hours, i know it sounds bad but with dp not working i dont get any time alone and am a bit resentful of it, so have come home feeling bit more my own chirpy cheery self having done lots of laughing about my mates speed dating experiances

did anyone tape csi - bugger i forgot!!

Lupins71 · 17/07/2007 23:23

Ohhhh and i want to see harry potter as well havent seen any of them at the pics - must try with this one as its the last
