Cam my ds2 has the perfect brakes, they are called 'shoes'!! Since he has been riding with no stabilisers he has worn the toes out of his trainers, luckily they were only cheap ones and not his Nike but thats not the point. Ive tried teaching him to use the brakes but at the moment shoes seem to be the better option in his eyes

All was fine at our check. The doc thinks Alana may have a clicky left hip and pointed out that she holds that leg different to the other. She wasnt worried though as we have the scan already booked for next week and she doesnt think its that bad anyway. Apart from that Alana is doing fine.

Sports day was cancelled so I didnt have to try to split myself in two which was good but it also meant I didnt get to speak to anyone. I asked ds1 if he'd had any trouble at school but it seems he was fine, the teachers kept an eye out and tonight when the kids where in the garden there was only a bit of abuse shouted.

Im sat here drinking my wine from last night, i finally found a corkscrew

Anyone want a glass???

cameroonmama · 12/07/2007 21:06

Is this cheeky or what? There was a lady on MN asking for maternity dresses for a wedding so I sent her a pic of one of mine to a regular ntl email address, she said she was interested and how much did I want, I then noticed the reply email had changed and it was for a brand new/nearly new maternity clothes site so she (I assume)wants it for her business I feel this is really cheeky and she should have just said she had a business and asked for items and now I don't know what to do, sell it to her or not - do you think I am overreacting in being a bit annoyed?

juliewoolie · 12/07/2007 21:17

hmm cam that is a bit cheeky. I guess you could call her on it and see what she says. But if you were going to sell it anyway why not to her, but I would defo make a point of telling her you feel, it was a bit sneaky.

largeginandtonic · 12/07/2007 22:20

Sneaky sneaky, i loathe sneaky people. I would call ger up on it and start a new thread entitled 'beware the sneaky lady asking for your maternity clobber'

You eat all those KK's Cam, im convinced they help your milk supply

I have heard from TYG, was worried for a while there. I discovered she had Victoria Sponge on the meet up, good name for a cake that We do texy about other important issues apart from cake you know, tonights topic was bikes.

Jonah's birthday tom and his Spiderman bike came in a box a small box It has taken me nearly 2 and a half hours to make it, clearly i am not cut out for bike making. Cake making is an entirely different story

I have given up pumping in the evening (boob)i get nothing off, well about 20mls. I have not needed to express since the twins and i had no trouble then. I seem to be failing........I wanted to build up freezer stocks for DH to feed Beau when he returns I have the medela mini pump so im sure it is not the tools. Any ideas?

Pebble im glad J had a better day today. Hope it continues.

Scoot pass the long pimms over, sounds yum. Also at your size 12 jeans.

Lwatkins you sound better, a bar in cyprus sounds a good place for a meet up

Am off to bed, no doubt Jonah will be up at the crack of dawn for pressies, i will be taking the bike to bed with me

twelveyeargap · 12/07/2007 23:34

Try pumping during the night, or first thing in the morning - maybe on the weekend when you don't have to get the hoards ready for school? I don't get much at night either, but up to 4 oz in the morning.

Well A slept from midnight til 7am this morning and I felt like a new woman. Granted, she screamed for about 4 hours before midnight and probably wore herself out. There was a bit of a palaver involving sick husband, me thinking he was looking after A for a bit, me deciding to dismantle mini cot and make it into the full size cot, him brining her up just as mini cot was taken to bits saying it was hurting his sick stomach to hold her, me losing the plot as bad belly is self imposed due to his high consumption of red wine and/ or cider on a regular basis, baby crying because I had to put her down whilst I remade the cot... You get the picture. I deserved a 7 hour kip after that. Well, six hours by the time I got to bed, and less the time I spent listening to her grumble before she woke up properly. 6 hours uninterrupted though. Haven't had that in 6 weeks!

Not too bad tonight either. She was fed and bathed at 8 and has been asleep since about 9. Going to do a dream feed shortly and cross my fingers.

SOH - hope your friend's baby gets better. How are you and M doing?

Pebble - your poor son. Those bullies have no chance in life with parents like that and it's bloody awful that your son (and the rest of you!) having to deal with the consequences.

How are you feeling now April?

Scoot, glad they're finally sorting you out.

ITS - I'd need to eat too. I am CONSTANTLY grazing and even if I eat a pile of bikkies I can still eat dinner 10 minutes later. Discovered one of my local shops sells Kimberly biscuits. Yum. Haven't seen those since the last time I was in Ireland. Though they do chocolate Kimberley's there too. Dangerous. For the uninitiated, Kimberley's have a soft, cake like, ginger flavoured biscuit top and bottom, with a marshmallow centre, and some sugar crystals round the middle. Ahhhh.

It's now been proven beyond doubt that I have far too great a knowledge of all things confectionery. We were eating Vienetta the other night and DH was saying how nice it was and I said, "It's a real 80's thing, Vienetta, isn't it?" He looked at me like I was nuts so I said that I was sure Vienetta came out in the early 80s - around 1983. He laughed at me - until he looked it up and discovered it was first released in 1982 - when I was 4! It's a bit weird that I know these things. I remember all the chocolate bars they don't make any more, like Skippys and Vice Versas... I think they should bring back Wispas and the Smith and Jones ads for them.

Jaysis. I need help.

twelveyeargap · 12/07/2007 23:37

When I say pump at night, I mean, you know, 3am when you're doing a night feed. I meant to say I don't get much in the early evenings.

Must go to bed.

I can't. A sentence. Together string. Even.

Lupins71 · 13/07/2007 09:48

Pebble at the way people like that think that its ok to behave like that, well done you and ds for keeping control of the situation and at the school - unbelievable, you school defiantly talk to the police, I doubt that witht people like that that it will make any differance - they seem to think they are beyond the law, but at least the police will be aware of teh situation and can keep an eye on oit

LW&L glad alls going well, the poo is pretty amazing on formula isnt it, that would be a lovely thing to do move to cyprus - gooo onn do it, then i will have somewhere to holiday and you can come to portugal for hols

TYG mmmmmmmmmmm wispa yummy

ITS glad Ted is doing well

What is it with all these sleeping babies, A is now stretching a who 2.5 - 3 hrs at night

Dp cant believe the chatting that goes on here - he reckons we are the most chatty thread on the whole internet - could be right lol

My house is a tip and i dont seem to be able to get on top of it when they are under my feet, dp was supposed to work today 1st time in about a month and couldnt get up cos of hes pills, I did say i would go and get a job but he wont change A's bum so thats out the window, cant wait to leave and have otherpeople around that will help me, even had a moan at my mum yesterday which i never do - she didnt call on my bday - and hasnt called all week, she said she knew i was fed up and was leaving me alone in case i didnt want to talk wtf!!!!!! grrrr - must be pmt me thinks finding life very stressful

largeginandtonic · 13/07/2007 10:06

You sounded all cod like then TYG. I will try expressing in the morning tomorrow and see if it makes any difference. I hope so, i have a new pump (well ebay) and they are not cheap!

Jonah loved his bike this morning, he looked way too little on it though. I think it is just beacuse his old one is dinky. He can reach the pedals with foot flat, i may shut my eyes when he takes it for a spin later

His father has once again sent nothing Not even a phone call yet. Im sure he has forgotten, the kids told me he is off on holiday to Greece with his girlfriend. Bastard

DH phoned from the ship this morning to wish him happy birthday, im not sure what he more excited about, talking to DH or the fact he was at sea talking to him It was very cute.

I have another sports day today, all day this one. Im not going all day, Hugo would kill me. Hugo is in general killing me at the moment. Last night (i had a friends 2 boy's for tea) they were all playing outside and i heard a shriek. I ran outside and he had let the bunnies out and was trying to squash Florence in to his toy truck Pooor little thing was shaking, DH is going to have to put a lock on their door. He is evil and im at my wits end with him.

Bedtime routine is like this, after tea i take the 3 small ones upstairs for a bath, i put J and H in the tub, strip Beau and he gets a dunk too. Then i dress Beau while watching Hugs as he floods the bathroom. Get the other 2 out the bath and dry them, jammas on while Beau screams his head off. In to the front room for the' night garden' or a story if we have missed it while i feed Beau. 3 big ones called in for bath. Put J and H to bed, try and settle Beau in his crib. He has crashed by 8 3 times in a row now Older 3 get yelled at periodically for bathroom soaking\noise level\fighting etc.... The the older 3 (if i have not sent them all to bed for not listening to me) come down to talk to me\annoy me Then off to bed for them, so i have been peaceful and calm by 9!!!

Long may it continue, it has been hellish with Beau yelling from 7 till 10 and me just having to battle through.

I feel the need for a kk today and a wispa. Good grief they were lovely TYG, you should not have reminded me! Perhaps you were a confectioner in a past life TYG??? Weird the facts you seem to have absorbed.

largeginandtonic · 13/07/2007 10:10

Lupins your mum didnt call on your birthday??? Thats not nice, she should be phoning to make sure you are all ok not leaving you alone. Hugs to you xxx

Lupins71 · 13/07/2007 11:18

Happy Birthday Jonah

LGT thier dad sounds just like mine, needless to say i have nothing to do with him - he doesnt even know he is a grandad, his loss

largeginandtonic · 13/07/2007 11:23

Mine too Lups,i have a lovely stepdad though, bit like Jonah

Have not seen mine since i was 13 Tosspot.

InTheseShoes · 13/07/2007 12:10

Mmmmmm, Wispa bars. Do you know what I miss, Fuse bars, they were lovely.

Trying to get T to have a sleep in his cot as he has not slept since I woke him at 7.45. Not sure how that is going to go!

Happy Birthday Jonah!

largeginandtonic · 13/07/2007 12:28

Have put pics of the Spidy bike and cake on my profile.

Lupins71 · 13/07/2007 13:08

wow cool cake!! you are a fab mum, bless his little face he looks so happy, I didnt talk to my dad for years - the when my bro died I had to phone him and tell him, decided to give him another chance - and yet again he blew it, went through all the funeral arrangements with me and mum and agreed to pay most of it - then after the funeral told my mum he had no money to pay - soon found out it was because he had booked a holiday with his girlfriend {shock] so thats that I have no dad as far as im concerned

cameroonmama · 13/07/2007 13:08

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JONAH! aaahhhh LG&T, so cute seeing his little face and wow at the cake, putting an order in please for March next year

I can't believe his dad hasn't called that's so at least he has your lovely dh and all the excitement of being called from a ship.

Lups, I also feel that your mum didn't call on your birthday, and that things are still tough. We are always here to try to cheer you up.

TYG - 'fess up, you really are a chocoholic aren't you? Or do you secretly work for Cadbury's? I used to just LOVE Wispa's, Aero's are just not quite the same. God I hate putting up cots and don't mention trying to put bikes together, I was horrified that bikes didn't come already made up. Talking of cots I am thinking of buying a Mothercare Takely, has anyone got one?

LOL at the bedtime routine LG&T, it is so complicated I couldn't follow it . Ours is similar but on a smaller scale, but echo the fighting/flooding/crying baby/sending to bed without a story if they haven't listened to me scenarios. To add to it someone usually phones during the whole process, they should really know better by now! The upshot is that J goes to bed at the same time as the other two, by 7pm. Last night he went until 1.30 then 5.30 so not quite as good as all of yours, but its not too bad.

InTheseShoes · 13/07/2007 13:11

(psssst...)

He's asleep!

SKYTVADDICT · 13/07/2007 17:12

Hi all

Just popping in to say hello.

We don't have a PC at the mo so am posting at my mum and dads.

All is well here.

Don't have time to catch up.

Callum doing really well. 10 weeks old tomorrow (can't believe it!). Weighed 13lb 6oz last week so is a little porker.

B/f still doing well. He has had one carton of formula and a few expressed bottles.

anneme · 13/07/2007 19:39

Hello
adding a quick message before BIG weekend. Pebble - poor you. V good idea about police - good luck. That is what scares me about the DSs growing up and people being horrid to them.
LG&T - when I expressed with DS1 I found it best to feed at the same time and first thing in the morning was best. With DS2 mid afternoon seems the best time so it is worth trying diff times - ~I have found i get v little in the evening when i express. Mind you I am SO impressed with your organised evenings - mine are chaos with two!!!
All well here. Samuel is 14lb and his skin is clearing up although cradle cap is developing nicely - just in time for the weekend. Tomorrow is my bday so going to a picnic concert with some friends. Sunday is DH's 40th so big party at lunch time - don't do evenings any more! also Samuel's christening on Sunday - my Dad is doing it (he also did DS1 and married DH and I) - he has a parish in Lincolnshire.
Will be back online on Monday when I am feeling old!!

charleymouse · 14/07/2007 00:47

[sm ile][grin ]

Hi all
Sorry for not responding to any individuals but have not caught up yet. Thanks you for all your support and shoulders to cry on.
G is home from hospital and consultant says there should be no long term effects. Phew. Worrying few days though. He had pneumonia and early indications of menginitis. All zapped with antibiotics.
Cheers
PS
Hope you had a good meet those of you getting together.

Right off to catch up with the thread.

InTheseShoes · 14/07/2007 08:13

charleymouse, GREAT news about George, so pleased for you, and relieved

Can I recommend a little product to you if you have an LO with a snotty nose? It's made by Nuk, and I got it from Mothercare, sadly thrown out the packaging so can't remember the exct name but it's a little "turkeybaster" shaped thing that you use to get the mucus out of thier nose bu
y holding it to the edge of the nostril and squeezing - it's fab, and was really cheap like about £4, it was near the toothpaste/nail clippers/bath sponges etc etc. You probably all know about it and it is old hat, but they didn't have them six years ago when I had a baby last!

twelveyeargap · 14/07/2007 09:04

Snotsuckers aka Nasal Aspirator. I didn't find them any good for the more solid snot (can't believe I'm actually writing this), but I guess they're probably good for runny noses?

Happy Saturday all.

twelveyeargap · 14/07/2007 09:05

That's really great news Charley, I'm so relieved for you.

largeginandtonic · 14/07/2007 10:58

Excellent news CHARLEY im so pleased, didnt i say he would be right as rain. Hoep you are enjoying some babymooning with him

Morning all! I have straightened my hair as this is the first weekend in 7 weeks i have had time Sure fire way to make it rain......

I have hoovered and done a shed load of washing, Beau been asleep for 2 hours! The others are driving me crazy, if ONE more of them say's "what time is the party" or "are we going yet" i may have to vacate the house for a little scream.....

Pebblemum · 14/07/2007 11:37

Excellent news Charleymouse

LG&T J has a dvd party to go to today and off to firework show later and hes been driving me mad this morning too. I may take E and A for a picnic while J is out, he will be gone for at least 4hrs so plenty of time, its just a matter of if I can be bothered lol

A is still sleeping well at night, at least 6hrs on the trot from about 11pm then a quick feed and straight back off to sleep for another 3-4 depending on whether the boys make a noise when they get up. Its amazing how much I appreciated sleep now, before A came along I hardly ever slept often choosing to sit up watching tv with dh until about 3am and then getting up at 7am, now if I do that im walking round like azombie for the rest of the day

Juicylucytoo · 14/07/2007 14:29

Sorry I've not been on. Coming to terms with parenthood. You all seem much more together than me!

Charley - thats great news. Really happy for you + yours. Glad G is home and can get on with getting big and strong.

A question to all breast feeders / pumpers...How long does it take you and how much do you get. Also, how much represents a feed?

I just did about 30 minutes and only got 60ml. How does it stack up?
