OMG Twinkle I thought you were going to say "ha,ha tricked you"

Congratulations hun it's wonderful news {smile] so am I right in thinking you'll have 5 kids at the end of all this?
When we were talking about this I didn't realise there really was a possibility of it being twins, I thought you were just saying it like everyone does

Congrats again BTK

Londoner · 04/01/2008 19:04

Hi all!

Twinkle, Massive Congratulations To You..... TWICE lol! How amazing, how wonderful, in the real literal sense of the world, isn't that so amazing? Congratulations again. What was it like being told it's twins and with the whole family there too? Could you make out both babies yourself, was the ultrasonographer helpful? Sorry, is fascinating. Hope your ms fades v.soon, gosh you did say this pg was really different didn't you and you noticed you were bigger for dates and mentioned twins a couple of times, do you think you had an instinctive subconscious inkling all along?

WOW!

Londoner · 04/01/2008 19:15

Oh no Twinkle, think you just bought a new pushchair? Is it adaptable for twins perhaps with buggy board for J or not? Mind you, family I know with twins used combination of 2 pushchairs with 3 under 5 at weekends and the mum used a double pushchair like you've got for the toddler +1 baby and 2nd baby in the sling and she'd alternate which baby went in the sling/pushchair. She was very chilled and amazing.
Sorry, you're prob still processing your amazing discovery.

ChaCha, really looking forward to your scan too!

BTK, poor you with your poorly eyes, must be horrid, hope it goes soon, have you got drops from Dr.? Or are you doing the salt water route? Is horrid when anything on your head is affected as is hard to think about anything else?
Diege, loving the regular posts!
Hi Rodeo, BB, Nova, L&S, GG. Is that everyone... bye!

ChaCha · 04/01/2008 22:07

Twinkle, it's such fab news, i would love twins, so exciting!!! Was just telling DH but had to start from scratch as he couldn't quite understand who Twinkle was and what group i was talking about
Wanted to ask all the same questions that Londoner did...so i just have....tell all!

Londoner - is good to see you post again.

DS1 was very testing today. I resorted to sticking them both in the bath at 6pm just for some peace and quiet. Sat in there being sick and just getting my head together and even then DS1 insisted that DS2 needed 'shampoo and wash' FGS and several rinses with water jug - i think maybe it's just me taking it all out of proportion because i'm not feeling too great but am honestly relieved that both are now asleep. He seems to be testing how far he can go at the moment, a real Jekyl and Hyde. Think am also going to have to keep a log of what he's eating/drinking during the day - am wondering if behaviour / eating habits could be linked..

Have a lovely weekend all, nothing planned here but some rest i hope x

ChaCha · 04/01/2008 22:09

Oh and Beks - sorry to hear that you're not feeling great, i was and am thinking of you x

twinkle1 · 05/01/2008 09:37

morning all,
well i have calmed down slightly
poor dh could not sleep last night!!!!!!
No i def didnt know i was having 2,just felt different and sooooo thirsty. When i had the scan i went in on my own first and the screen wasnt facing me so i had no idea and she didnt say anything!!!!! then she went and got dh and kids turned the screen and said something like both babies look fine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!arghhhhhh Then she showed us both babies side by side and explained everything, you could see them wiggling and the hearts beating etc very cute.Thought DH did well not to drop josh or use 4 lettered words.the kids jumped up and down and shrieked.I have to say the sonographer was lovely
We are off out today to look at pushchairs & cars!!!!!!!!!!I have another scan on 14th so i should get lots of pic's from that one will have to put some on for you all to see
Must sort out the meet up looking forward to it
Thanks for all the positive vibes and congratulations,i feel very special and privalidged (sp) Its strange its like been pregnant for the first time everything is new and a bit scary.
Twinkle

Diege · 05/01/2008 10:17

Morning . Wow TWINKLE, sound like a lovely scan experience. I am still really excited on your behalf - I've been telling everyone - the girls and dh remember you and Josh that time you dropped me off after we got carried away with our shopping! V. broody here now, though need to wait a few months before ttc really because of work- I want to try and time it so the puking is in the summer, and not when I'm teaching, although no doubt with my advancing years it's not as simple as picking the month(s)!. We must arrrange a Salford Quays soon. Are Thursdays generally good for you? Am warming to coming on my own without L , plus I could help out with Josh while meatball subs etc are sorted out .
CHACHA, I know what you mean about testing behaviour...sadly with dd2 at the moment. I think you're doing brilliantly - and baths are always a good idea (usually!) for diffusing a situation!.
Well, the big bed for L didn't go down too well, and she's back in the cot for now. She seemed really scared, but at least now it's all set up, and will try again later in the year. Half of me is reluctant to deal with the whole getting out of bed thing,as she shows no sign of climbing out of the cot. My guru (GF) suggests age 3 !!, and this is what I stuck to with other dds, so maybe this is best for me!
Hi to all - sending get better wishes to BEKS! - maybe late March/early April would be a good time for the meet-up, so we get the birthdays/anniversaries etc out of the way? ; good to see your posts LONDONER - would be great to see you and E again in London!RODEO, lo at your grins!! How long did that take you!! . Hi to everyone else!

twinkle1 · 05/01/2008 17:45

Hi ladies, Twinkle's DH here. First off thanks for all of your kind wishes. They are very much appreciated. For all of you who are interested, you will find a copy of the scan picture at the following link.

PS anyone know where I can buy Beefy Monster Mnch in bulk????

BrownieBells · 05/01/2008 19:19

Just had a quick look at the scan, thanks Twinkles DH! - how cute - Diege, am getting broody (that is until T throws one of his now infamous mega strops and then I do wonder....!) Well, will have to see.....

New computer is fab, just got to get new internet provider sorted out now....but need to wiat till Monday, as they are shut now!

Right, now to load all of the files from the old pc onto this one (or perhaps a little web-surf first!?)

B

ChaCha · 05/01/2008 20:23

Wonderful, wonderful scan pics!!! I feel like a proud aunty or something...well done you guys, look fwd to all the exciting updates.

Beefy monster munch - hmmm, what gender do you think the twins will be? I have a gut feeling that this is another boy, feel same as i did with DSs but somehow worse. I haven't kept anything down at all today and feel rag dollish...ah well, only another 7 months or so to go!!

I could murder a pineapple, orange or some jelly tots..anyone?

Rodeo · 05/01/2008 22:25

Awww!! Loving all the twinkle twins talk! Lovely scan pics, thanks Mr Twinkle I . wonder if they'll be girls or boys or one of each! Heehee! Sooo exciting! Do you know if they're identical or is it too early to tell? My prediction is...hmmmm....1 girl & 1 boy. But if you tell me they're identical, I'll have to change it
Chacha, my prediction for you is.....girl Sorry you had a tough time - I couldn't get them in bed quick enough tonight either! Must be so much harder feeling so ill you have my sympathies, does your m/s usually wear off by 3 months? But good idea about the food log anyway, my SIL bought Joe a bag of pick and mix today, so think that was the cause of his outbursts. Have started him on Omega 3 tablets this week, will have to see if it has any positive affects, will let you know!
Diege, went to see Enchanted today! It was great but you could have warned me - I now have a huge crush on Patrick Dempsey! Think I'm going away with dp mid April, so late March/early April is good for me. What day will we be going? Fri/Sat, Sat/Sun? Oh and I cheated with the grins, copied & pasted!
Hello Brownie, Londoner & Beks too! Took our tree & decs & lights down today, pine needles everywhere! Are yours all down now? Off to have some crackers for supper, with the last of the Christmas Stilton Night x

OP posts:
Diege · 06/01/2008 10:14

Morning! Wow, gorgoeus piccies TWINKLE!!! Agree with CHACHA, feel like a special aunty . For some reason I've presumed non-identical? My gender prediction is boy/girl if non-identicial . Not sure about you CHACHA - hunch toward a boy, perhaps because of the 'predisposition' theory about gender afetr 2 (but said to be a 'load of boll**ks' by my consultant!).
RODEO, HANDS OFF Patrick Dempsey . I'd never heard of the guy before, and now I find myself googling him like a mad stalker . yes, of course he's married, with 3 kids (baby boy twins, daughter, and grogeous wife, natch!)Re: days for meet-up, I have a feeling I'm away at a conference last weekend in March in Warwick, but can check tomorrow when back at work. Re: days of the week, weekend might be easier for me, as I'm in work mon-wed but dh works away thurs-fri at the moment. Maybe travel down sat, come back sunday lunch time?
BB: know what you mean about conditional broodiness!! Like RODEO's Joe, Scarlett is driving us all mad at the moment (we're trying fish oil too!). I think re: ttc no.2, if it were me the thought of NOT wanting an only child would sort of cancel out other doubts (but that's just me!).Come on girl, get that folic acid down your neck !!!
Right, got to try and get the false snow off the window! WHY did I bother???

BrownieBells · 06/01/2008 13:51

Know what you mean diege about only child thing, but that doesn't really hold that much importance really with me, as both me & dh are only ones (apart from dhs step bro & sis, which he gained late in life!) I have always had lots of cousins etc who was v close too, and T has got loads of little relations too.....think will def ttc, but at the moment the terrible wotnots are upon us - last night seemed to be up and down like a ferret down a rabbit hole! so it is times like these I think - NO! but then when he is all lovely and squishy, I think YES!
(Did any of that make any sense!?)

If you get chance, Warwick is like 15-20mins away from Stratford, so we could perhaps meet for coffee or somehting if your schedule allowed!? we'll see.....

T currently asleep at the moment, all our decs are down apart from the advent candles which will be down shortly, as tis 12th night today - so all must be down! Can't believe it is back to work on Tuesday, have had ages off, but at the same time don't feel like I've had a break - do you know what I mean!?

Right, off for up of tea....
x

twinkle1 · 06/01/2008 19:15

Hi

WOW TWINKLE congratulations!!! Amazing, hope you're getting more used to the ides now, what have the rest of your family said?

Rodeo, sorry I haven't texted back no credit i am so crap! Don't think I will be up for London as Craig is back on shifts and is rostered on those days, I am off to london this weekend coming though, DH bought me tickets to Dirty dancing with my friend, we are staying at the westbury hotel in Mayfair, her bro is the headchef there so get mates rates!! Will be great but will miss the kids loads.

S has been ill all afternoon very limpety and crying, he asked to have his bath at 5 pm and was in bed asleep by 5:45 got a raging temp again so I await whatever he is brewing!

Back to school tomorrow boo hoo have really enjooyed having L at home and i've had a week off so its been lovely and unrushed, now its back to hectic mornings and countless after school activities!!

Diege · 06/01/2008 21:42

Hi L&S, good to hear from you . Poor S asking for his bath early, hope he's feeling better soon .
Wow TWINKLE, you havn't wasted much time with the shopping eh!! You sound very postive, and just think of the shopping opportunities this is going to afford you BB, I know exactly what you mean about not feeling rested! I'm back at work tomorrow (boo!!) and don't feel like I've had a rest at all, in fact going back will seem like a rest after having the 3 of them at home . It would be great to meet up when I'm in Warwick - not sure what my schedule will be re: work, but I'm sure we can arrange something .
Oh BTW, not sure if this is appropriate or not, but I think BOB is expecting again . She has been posting on the pregnancy threads, so many congratulations if you are lurking BOB, and maybe pop in and let us know how things are going .
Right, better get work bag, PE kits etc ready for the mass shouty morning ahead!!!

Diege · 07/01/2008 12:52

Hello! Shouty school run over, and now safely esconed in the comfort of my office . Horrid weather, and still no snow!!! Yah!! Here's to a good week for all!

ChaCha · 07/01/2008 13:40

Hi girls,

L&S - Sounds like you have a lovely weekend lined up. Enjoy yourself and every minute!

BB/Diege - Good luck with first days back after the break, are you looking fwd to it?

Lovely new about BoB - i hope she pops on to tell us, was going to ask the other day if any of the Londoners were in touch.

All good here, still throwing up round the clock and just hoping that it gets better! Could not hide it from friends last night and so cat out of bag earlier than i wanted - was hibernating until 12 week scan!

Off to my mum's for tea soon xx

Londoner · 07/01/2008 14:30

BTKsmum · 07/01/2008 21:16

Hi girls

Lovely scan pics Twinkle, how fantastic to see the two at once, bet it will be fascinating to watch them grow. Lol at the new car, go girl think this makes you supermum of the group.

Sitting here trying to get T to stay in his bed and to go to sleep, patience is fast running out now - grr

Was it just me that didn't see Diddle had a second ds in October? Great news for Bob too if she's pregnant too.

Feeling virtuous as have started diet with a vengence and have lost 4.5lbs so far since New years day, a drop in the ocean of the 10 stone I have to lose but every little helps. My dh has also stopped smoking and is doing fabulously so now I really have to stick to the diet. Am hoping to lose at least 5 stone this year if poss, so help me stay on the straight and narrow please girls.

Chacha bugger at having to tell earlier than you wanted but I second Londoner that hopefully you'll get extra support now. Hope the ms eases off soon.

Right the little evil sprite is out of bed again, best go and stick him back, speak soon Beks

ChaCha · 08/01/2008 10:55

Hi all,

Congratulations to Diddle, had no idea - is she on of the post-natal threads then? Great news.

Congratulations Beks - Well done on fabulous weight loss - keep it up Beks, i know that you have strong will power and will reach your goal and well done DH on giving up the smoking - I stopped 7 years ago after having smoked since a teenager and find that i absolutely HATE smoking with a vengeance now...eugh!

Twinkle - Snap. Sleep and baths - must haves, lol. Have to bath late at night to avoid sea sickness though.

Well no change here, could not make m/w appointment this morning, spent the evening in my mum's spare bed after having sat with her for 20 minutes over dinner followed by severe sickness and falling asleep - great fun! m/w has now called and said i can go after the scan oh well!

Will post again when have something to talk about lol x

Diege · 08/01/2008 11:07

Oh no CHACHA sorry to hear you're so poorly - any sign of the sickness easing up a little now that you're nearing the 12 week mark (I think?!)Feel free to scream at me if not! BEKS, great stuff with your weight loss and future plans. I am back on Slimming World, and have just over a stone to lose, so maybe we can support each other! I'm not technically overweight (although right at the limit of my 'acceptable' height/weight chart)but have put on a stone very gradually over the past year, so it's now or never!
TWINKLE, I could meet up this Thursday if any good? After that it woule be Feb . Hope you're feeling well and are stioll up for the meatball sub!
Right, must get some work done after novelty of first day back has passed!
diegexx
