Hello, Indith, I've missed you too! Boo to rubbish dial up, shall we start a new thread once you've caught up with this one so you can get on more easily?

Bp, your teas for dd2 always sound so scrummy and imaginative. I'm learning lots! Got the BLW going well at breakfast and lunch but not at teatime - I have enough trouble coming up with things for ds1 and dd a lot of the time, despite shelves of cookery books .

Well, dd has decided that she's had enough of nappies and is going to toilet train. 23mo wasn't in my game plan but she's doing okay. Today was Day 4 and she had no accidents and did her first poo on the toilet. The last 3 poos have been in pants which is very bleurgh. Ds1 never had a poo accident after he came out of nappies, so scraping poo off pants is a very exciting new world for me . We were at a smartish pub on Sunday with the whole family for my Gran's 89th birthday when she did a HUGE poo in her pants that fell out in little blobs all over the pub garden as she waddled back to tell me she'd pooed . Such fun.

Can you all wish dh luck with ds2 tonight? The poor love is very tired after getting up with him for the last 2 nights so he needs some Dec06 sleep vibes. Otherwise I may actually kill him tomorrow if he says he's tired again .

jabberwocky · 07/08/2007 21:37

Good to hear from you, Indith! I was just wondering how you were.

Also, if I haven't mentioned it, glad to see LFM back on board

magnolia, I've been secretly hoping ds2 would get incisors first so we could play baby Dracula but I think I feel one on the bottom so that may not work out.

magnolia1 · 07/08/2007 21:39

Welcome back Indith xxxx

Oh dear Oli, I remember the pooey pants well. I am terrible though, if they are too bad I throw them out

Sleep vibes to ds2 and your dh although I don't actually have any to give

magnolia1 · 07/08/2007 21:40

He has 2 on the bottom but now having 2 incisors it looks weird

Indith · 07/08/2007 22:31

Mmm Poo, amazing how poo forms such a large part of our lives! Ds now does nice lumpy ones for the record

So, moved to Leeds, my broadband account should have been transferred but tiscali are inept so it wasn't and I got fed up of people in India telling me to call back later as their systems were down that I told them to sod off. Will get broadband sorted here in a month or so but pointless doing it before dp starts work as BT do a very nice employee package.

We were AGES hearing about the job it was horrible but hey ho all sorted now.

We just managed to get the house we were after up here as someone else had beaten us to it so we were very sneaky and called another agent we knew it was advertised through and managed to steal it Gin

So we now have a lovely 3 bed place with a pretty kitchen and exposed ceiling beams and loads of storage under the eaves...I could go on, just so nice to be in a real live house that isn't studenty and for the first time in our lives we are somewhere that we are going to stay for more than a few months

Anyway ds is fantabberdozy, giggles away and chatters so much! It really is amazing how quickly their range of noises expands. We are doing William Led Weaning TM. It began as BLW but morphed slightly as sometimes figer foods confused the hell out of him and he would end up screaming because he couldn't work out how to eat it but didn't want to bf as it wasn't really what he was hungry for. That seems to be stopping though so it may well have been the tooth that was causing it. I do need to hunt through the threads in weaning for some ideas though.

Right then, bed for me. Wonder how many times I'll be up tonight? Not that I can complain, unlike some of you wonderful people ds was improving dramatically on the sleep front (even slept through in a tent at Cambridge Folk Festival!) so hopefully once he works out rolling the other way we will be happy again!

Night all

FunkyGlassSlipper · 08/08/2007 09:31

not a good start to the day

Elibean · 08/08/2007 09:46

((FGS)) hope she's better v soon. Have yet to meet a vomiting bug, but reflux experience tells me its no fun at all...is she keeping BM down?

Welcome back Indith, yeay! Am delighted to see you've landed in such a nice house.

Am rushing, should be packing, just wanted to wave goodbye for a month (unless dh's laptop actually works, you never know) and see you in September. September! Blimey, we were all starting to worry about giving birth last September...

xxxx

FunkyGlassSlipper · 08/08/2007 09:49

no Eli. I feel terrible as she was sick in the night and we didn't know. She didnt cry or anything. Seemed fine this morning so i b/f and gave her some weetabix. Both ended up all over me. She has no temp. Has just woken up and is being cheeky as ever. weird.

Olihan · 08/08/2007 10:00

Mag, the one from the pub went straight in the bin, no way was I scraping that much off!

Well, last night went:

Bed at 6:30
Feed at 11pm
Woke at 3am, dh settled in 10 mins
Woke at 4am, dh settled in 20 mins
Slept through until 6:45

So he went 11pm to 6:45 without food and I had 7 hours of stright sleep. (I feel like I've been hit by a bus though, don't think my body knows what's going on!)

Olihan · 08/08/2007 10:09

FGS, I don't think babies are as bothered by being sick as we are. If she's well in all otger respects I'd just give her stuff that's gentle on the tummy, avoid cow's milk dairy and give her bm to drink, rather than water as that should help clear the bug.

Eli, good luck with the trip, (and the packing) have you sorted dd2's food?

Indith, it's lovely having a 'real' house for the first time, isn't it. I'm so pleased it's all worked out for the 3 of you.

weirdbird · 08/08/2007 10:12

FGS am in the same boat today, I have had a bug the last few days and now DD2 has it, she was sick twice last night, am just offering bf today so far as it did seem to be food that was making it worse, she is also running a slight temp, but threw up when I gave her medication to bring it down

DD2 seems to have developed a cough as well, but am not sure whether its a real cough or she is copying her sister who has been making silly noises at her, mainly a cough type noise....
