Hello?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MaeBee · 19/06/2007 15:37

gingeme - no, i havent. i swear i used to be a total sex kitten and its so weird that i dont even THINK about sex nowdays! i cant let it get to a year without doing it!!! we manage some stuff, about once a week, and i managed a solo effort when i had a nap this afternoon: tmi?!?

my mum actually offered to pay for acupuncture cos of my anal fissure pain, so maybe i will take her up on it.
cheers!

gingeme · 19/06/2007 15:43

Do. I would. Its fantastic. Two of my friends tried it for giving up smoking and they havent since. Keep me posted.

BENDYB · 19/06/2007 16:06

I really do wanna gingeme but then will have no chance of getting into a size 10 wedding dress! After the wedding def gonna!

samsmam · 19/06/2007 16:44

I am dreading birth already after all those stitches and Samantha getting stuck but the GP this morning says they may induce me when the baby gets to 8lb. Long way off yet!

Have to eat lots of green veg too as I am still borderline anaemic and you are not supposed to take iron during the first 13 weeks.

Horrible metal taste................. I remember that pregnancy thing well!

When you getting married bendy? Size 10 wedding dress, I never even lost my last stone to get back in my jeans oh, well next time.

MaeBee · 19/06/2007 16:50

btw: to those of you breastfeeding, how many feeds a day do you give your baby? i still feed on demand and today was a crazy 9 so far, he's teething and clingy, but i want to slowly cut down and stop completely at a year.

BENDYB · 19/06/2007 17:47

getting married next july samsmam, havent yet managed to get back into my size 12 jeans but i'm determined my wedding dress is gonna be a 10! I'm being too lazy with my diet at the mo!
Are you gonna carry on with slimming world still? I wish i had done whilst i was pregnant, instead of using it as an excuse to scoff everything in sight!!!

I am still aneamic! I'm taking my tablets & eating lots of green veg etc dunno what else i can do!!!

samsmam · 19/06/2007 19:09

My slimming world don't weigh pregnant women, just advise, I never stay to class so there is no point in me going. I really, really don't want to put on as much as I did with LO.

gingeme · 19/06/2007 19:36

Thats strange Samsam when I went they did pregnant women and women who have had babys. Mind you that was about 6 years ago. I told dh you were pg again he sends his congratulations

BENDYB · 19/06/2007 20:21

dont they? U can still stick to the plan though cant u if your worried bout putting on lots of extra weight!

How much did samantha weigh when she was born then?

Slim · 19/06/2007 20:37

MaeBee: no of bfs depends. Not many during the day but at least 2 or three (surprise surprise) at night. If I'm not here, DS will take 1 or 2 4oz bottles. If I am, probably 2 or 3 feeds depending, but they tend to be short ones.

Or some days when he's feeling grunpy and doesn;t want to eat he feeds far more.

Am also thinking of getting to a year - then again I said 3 months, then 6... could still be doing a feed or two after the year is over

samsmam · 19/06/2007 20:48

I'll have to check out the rules now, I know they have eating plans for pregnant and new mums. Anyway I need to save £4.50 a week so I am going to try and give it a go at home. My biggest fear is this weight thing but I want to enjoy it too.

Did we decide on a venue and date for meet up?

EffiePerine · 19/06/2007 20:56

No, we need a date (Slim here, getting bored ). Place: had thought about a park, but looking at the weather...

Weds are good for me.

samsmam · 19/06/2007 21:42

bendy- Samantha was 8lb 12 but she had shoulder dystocia, stuck on her entry out, and i want to give birth naturally again, although i have the choice of c-section!

MaeBee · 20/06/2007 08:46

my baby was 8 15 and stuck too!
the storm somehow turned his mobile on at 2.30 this morning, but the miracle baby slept through it. dp had to get up and turn it off as it was his shift, he had some tired theory about a power cut, until recalling the mobile is battery operated.
me and dp went out to a friends for dinner last night, and he woke for the babysitter...first time thats happened. ive been dreading it, but he knows her (shes a friend who lives across the road so is often round here)and altho he seemed pretty distressed for a few minutes when she went to him, he did go back to sleep and sleep through...to 6.15! hurruh! his usual is 5.30ish.

slim: giving up feeding at night was surprisingly easy for me, i thought it would be a real battle, but he took to it fine.

samsmam: im about 1 and a half stone lighter than my prepregnancy weight, and im a bit anxious about it! my dp prefers me chunky too. isnt it ridiculous how we arent ever happy about our weight?? i think its cos of breastfeeding, it just fell off, but i know thats certainly not the case for everyone. its also cos im on this highfibre, low fat trend to try and heal my anal fissure, so i guess thats also a slimmers diet altho i eat heaps of food. be real careful about dieting and pregnancy, im sure you know that!

Mellin · 20/06/2007 09:12

Welcome MaeBee and congrats Samsmam So it was the romantic holiday tryst then?? They do say that everything (pregnancy, birth, baby) is easier second time around so I will be relying on you to prove that for me before I contemplate number 2!

Totally - your dd is so cute! How do you get her to sit still for all the outfit changes?

Well dd is finally back on GMT time. It took about a week and she is actually sleeping better than she was in Oz. I have probably jinxed myself by typing that! Although she has been on an eating strike for the past few days. So if it's no one thing to worry about, it's another.

I am still bf, hoping to continue to a year also. It's so easy now, so I might as well keep going until I go back to work in Oct. She doesn't have any teeth yet, and if she's a biter I may be stopping sooner. We do give one bottle a day (bedtime feed) and apart from that she usually has 3 bf a day and 1 during the night.

EffiePerine · 20/06/2007 09:15

Mellin: DS has 2 teeth and no biting . He does pull off a lot, but that's more of a problem with the milk spurting everywhere!

Mellin · 20/06/2007 09:22

Swizz - who is EffiePerine? I'm too lazy to google.
The name slim makes me chuckle because in Australia the most fanous country and western singer is an old codger called Slim Dusty who sang absurd songs like "the pub with no beer" and "g'day g'day". Timeless classics [vomit emoticon] For some reason I think of him when I see your new name!!

EffiePerine · 20/06/2007 09:26

Good job I changed it then

mellin- not exactly romantic! My parents were in the same villa and although I'm 30 I felt a bit odd about it all. Maybe it was the relaxed nature of it all.
Glad your LO is back on GMT!

InThe House- for sleepless nights.

MaeBee- I was thinking that I have to watch the way I diet, may just do a relaxed version, and with two children to run about after when new LO is born I'll be back to shape in no time.

Slim/Swizz/Effie!- did you get LO weighed?

Rumpel · 20/06/2007 10:38

SAMSMAM - WOW! many congratulations to you - am slightly but too much going on with us just now with move looming. I have managed 22lbs now, another 12 and I will be back to pre preg weight but I want to lose another stone on top of that as there is a good chance we might have twins! It is so hard to lose the weight. I think you will find that you wont put as much on this time. I think we probably learn form the first time around!

I need to wait as I was really poorly with Amber, so I need to get to know my new neighbours (as DH works away sometimes), find out where everything is and settle into the new house.

Maebee - I thought Orin originated from Norway (does it not come from Viking mythology?) I know someone who called their son Orin too - it is a beautiful name.

LO was a nightmare last night gurning like mad, eventually gave her calpol at 9.30pm as I wasnt sure if it was teeth or not and she went off to sleep. Now I am feeling really stupid and fuzzy headed today as I had such a deep sleep last night.

Weather is horrid here so need to spend the day packing and cleaning Oh well.

GINGEME - has your nausea gone now? Does your bump show earlier with each progressive pg and tell us how each pg differed for you. I am hoping if next one is a boy I might not be so sick!

gingeme · 20/06/2007 10:46

Morning ladies.
Yes all signs of teething Inthehouse. Should be a tooth soon then. Keep up the good work.
How are you Samsam? Have you told anyone yet or are you waiting till 12 weeks? Its a good age gap. My first two are 15 months apart and ds4 and this one will be the same.
Im realy going to make a go of bf this time round though. Feel like I cheated the others only doing it for a few weeks. You all seem to have got the hang of it and it must seem like second nature now.
We are trying to re home our cat at the moment as my boys just see him as a live toy now. Especialy lo now hes on the move. Im surprised the cat isnt bald the amount of fur hes grabbed. Anyway a lady is collecting him tommorrow for a trial run over the weekend. She already has a cat and wants to see how they get on. Will keep you updated.
Felt terribly sick this morning. Gone back to Ready salted Hula Hoops (remember those last January?). Theyre helping alot.
Well have a good day ladies. Must sort out a meet up soon.

gingeme · 20/06/2007 10:59

Not sure if you want to know. Mught put you off having any more. Not sure if the bump shows sooner as Im still fat from the last one. Not that it bothers me any more. Never been a worrier about my weight.
Well where shall I start? Number one pregnancy was hell! As soon as I found out I was pregnant the sickness started straight away which was horrid as I worked then(yes I did work once upon a time). But it was in a food prep place so I had to be sent home every time. After 14 weeks the heart burn started and continued till the day he was born. Carried very high with him and the birth was loooong. He was 8lb 7oz
Munber 2 was easy peast lemon squeazy. Yes realy. Did not have one pregnancy symptom until the day he 'turned' and I was sick for about a day.Carried him very low. Thought he was going to be a girl. Birth was fantastic. Just me and the mw. He was 7lb 11oz.
Mumber 3 wasn't too bad. Didn't have too much sickness with him but the heartburn was chronic. Carried him kinda up front
iyswim? had a water birth which was fab. He was 7lb 6oz.
Number four you all know about realy. Again didnt realy have much sickness just nausea more than anything. Terrible heartburn again though. Carried him very low.Hew as my home birth which was very very fast and furious and brill. He was 8lb 13oz
Think thats about it....

samsmam · 20/06/2007 11:58

I need to stop thinking about this weight thing now! What will be, will be. I can lose it again!

Gingeme- Feeling a little sick- not sure I had any sickness/nausea with LO, it could be in my imagination! The only person that knows is DP and my friend from the Feb 06 thread, didn't want her to find out from this thread! I want to wait until least 6 weeks to tell parents as I am not even 4 yet.

Am having a kind of- really worried day today- worried about money, I haven't even been back to work and DP doesn't earn enough to keep us. I want to cry and sure my mum knows there is something wrong1

LO is eating a jam sandwich and cheese for lunch along with some very mushy nectarine!

gingeme · 20/06/2007 15:21

Sam I know what you mean btu you will have to look into Family Tax Credit etc when your brains a bit more erm normal. We dont get anything since my tow older ds's moved with their Dad but you will get some help.Glad your more relaxed about your weight now. I remeber a woman at my Slimming World group with a little baby and she was bf so she could have extra healthy extras and she lost about a stone while I was there this is years ago not when I went after lo.I havnt tried lo with nectarine yet but he has had kiwi and loved it. Youll have alot of stuff still from sam too so thats a bonus. Oh dont get too down itll soon sort itself out. Chin up babe
