Hello?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
EffiePerine · 20/06/2007 19:34

Samsmam: if you ring the tax credit helpline they can take some details over the phone to see if you're eligible for any help. We're struggling as well, will be more so with the childminder, but we should get some help from the tex creidt people once they get their fingers out! The number is 0845 300 3900

Took DS to get weighed today and he is 22 lb 10 oz - think he's about the same weight as your DS? Need to check rest of thread! Anyway, mw 1 called mw 2 over to admire his chart , 'look t this nice steady weight gain' she said . As always, he was the loudest baby in the waiting room . Am waiting till he starts duffing up the other babies...

EffiePerine · 20/06/2007 19:36

just checked - Sam is still ahead by half a pound! Strange that they've kept step so closely - anyway, she must be a Good Steady Weight Gainer as well

Rumpel · 20/06/2007 21:11

Thanks Gingeme - lucky you only being a bit sick. Heartburn is pretty horrid though - I only got it for the first couple of months. Do you have stretchmarks? Why did you stop bf? I had to start giving her a bottle as she lost so much weight - she found it really hard to latch on and I have flat nipples (didnt know that until a quite rude midwife told me), ended up with mastitis and it was just very traumatic for both of us. I managed to keep it going, bf and ff. until she got teeth though - then she started biting and it was too sore!

MAEBEE - re the libido thing. The less you do it the less you are inclined. I know it sounds awful but if you both kind of force yourself a few times youll find your libido will come back a bit.

Thanks effie- I must stop worrying about stuff- I am excited really. Just need to sort work out as I haven't been back. My magazine said they can't do anything if you go back pregnant as long as I'm there for 13 weeks- I won't owe anything. I have 8 weeks hols owing!

LO waves 'bye' now. Mainly to herself in the mirror but she does do it to people just randomly. Sweet.

Rumpel- forgot to say congrats on weight loss- think you over took me in the end. Keep up the hard work- you'll get there.

I have an all day wedding to go to in July- LO has been invited all day too, not sure what we should wear. Monsoon have some lovely little girls dresses but now with money. Maybe I'll check ebay out. What could I wear? Bearing in mind I am a pear shape- big thighs and now and expanding belly!

Rumpel · 20/06/2007 21:36

SAMSMAM - get a wrap dress - they are fabby for us pear shapes. I got 2 when pg and wore them all the time and still wear 1 now. I bought a white cotton stretch one from ebay and tie dyed it. Great over trousers/skirt or just on its own.

I got a gorgeous red dress from.Monsoon for BIl wedding Sat 30th June. Didnt check the price was to find out it was £36.00! More expensive than mine. It is beautiful though andf I will pass it onto my neice then get it back again. Vertebraut (sp) have a great sale on just now.

Red dress is for Amber! I am in green with RED shoes.

OP posts:
samsmam · 21/06/2007 06:15

Rumpel- Is this the red dress- I picked it up in Monsoon the other day!

Red dress

I am not sleeping very well, not sure if its pregnancy or nerves or both!

LO has been crying out in her sleep all night, not actually waking though, perhaps nightmares?

gingeme · 21/06/2007 08:33

Oh samsam thats beautiful. See thats why I need this bean to be a girl so I can buy her dresses like that. Knowing my luck shed turn out to be a tom boy and refuse to wear dresses.
Rumpel I gave ue bf with ds3 because I had my appendix out when he was 6 weeks old and gave up with ds4 because he lost loads of weight and mw suggested a bottle a day as well as bf but I went the whole hog and just bottle fed.
Noticed lo says ma ma ma ma now usualy when hes upset or hungry though.....

MaeBee · 21/06/2007 09:06

will be weighing my enormous beast on friday at his 8 mth checkup. im sure every pound ive lost has gone straight onto him. i think he's about 24lb, but he's so active he might be less now.

rumpel - i agree about the libido thing, im forcing myself to do sexual "stuff" once a week! its like being a teenager again when you have to get a bit drunk to get your nerve up. im too scared of penetrative sex, i feel too tight still? its partly cos ive got these injuries that have never healed, and when your arse is so sore and cut its hard to relax with vaginal stuff, cos its all soooo close. its also psychological i know. people talk about being looser after a baby, but i feel like a born again virgin! it really does feel tighter to me....even with good old ky.

hey, have any of you left your baby for a whole night yet? i have plans to go away in november to visit friends overnight, once he's weaned, and im already excited and afraid. i have a friend who left her baby at 5 months to go on tour for 5 whole weeks! no way could i do that, but i kind of respect her commitment to her band.

wuzzlefraggle · 21/06/2007 09:50

Samsam - CONGRATS!!!! you brave thing, you

well, anna is deffo teething here...there are two teeth popping up at the bottom front. they are half out iyswim

i'd best be off to do my exercise now. ive been sticking at it pretty well and its seem to start to be paying off. anyone else turning into exercise/diet freaks?? lol

Rumpel · 21/06/2007 10:15

Samsmam - yep thats the dress alright it is gorgeous isnt it? Got her white lace tights, white shoes and a wee white bolero too and a red headband Of course she would still be a showstopper in a rag
BIL has a Stewart kilt (red) and DH has a green one (cant remember the tartan) so we will all match! She is only going for the photos. My Mum/Dad are coming down to take her away after the photos (which are happening before the wedding). No children allowed at the wedding (apart from nephew who is 3).

Also A cries out in the night with her teeth - she has constantly bloody scabby ears from scratching them in her sleep - no matter how short I cut her nails.

GIngeme - A says mam mam mum when she is upset too. She said Mummy the other day

Maebee - will be leaving Amber overnight next month. My parents are coming to new house for a few days and I will come back down here for 1 night to give this place a good scrub before we put it in the market. Doesnt matter how clean you are you pull out washing machines etc and are at what lurks behind. Especially with 3 cats!

Must go - am cleaning/packing today and dying some bedding. Bought some lovely Egyptian cotton superkingsize bedding last week (TK MAX- all white so am dying it violet and claret red in preparation for my new GIANT bed - oooh only 3 weeks on Monday am getting EXCITED! Hmm will mean having to sleep with DH again though

MaeBee · 21/06/2007 19:13

my lo tottered his first steps today! straight into his daddy's arms of course !
my phone has run out of credit so i cant tell anyone that way, so thought i'd celebrate on here. he's been a nightmare with naps today, so im hoping its that milestone development thing, where they cant sleep cos they have to practice, and now he will sleep like a baby! (the fictional ones, not the real ones i mean!)

EffiePerine · 21/06/2007 20:04

MaeBee: DS started zipping forwards today and his top teeth cam through and is now fast asleepp after being a pain for days - hope your LO settles down soon.

Rumpel: that dress is gorgeous . DS is going to this wedding in dungarees and a t-shirt

majormoo · 21/06/2007 20:41

hi everyone -lots to catch up on.

Congratulations samsmam. My DS got his shoulders stuck on the way out too. I just escaped a third degree tear-lovely. Giving birth is so glamourous!

Maebee-with your anal fissure I am not surprised you don't feel like much action. Piles in pregnancy was bad enough-I really hope you get it sorted soon.

Gingeme hope you are feeling OK. Have not had time to read all the thread-is your scan coming up soon?

Can't remember who asked about number of feeds, but my DS has 2 7oz/8oz bottles and two breastfeeds in the day, one at night. I am going to start stopping once we come back from camping in July.

DS got another tooth today (not the top middle one as I thought he'd get but the one next to it.)He is crawling everywhere and into absolutely everything. DD didn't budge anywhere until 9 months and certainly wasn't as into grabbing everything in sight. Not sure if it is because he is the second child or a boy, but either way it is exhausting.

gingeme · 21/06/2007 21:33

Well done baby maebee on your first steps. How old is he?
Yes majormoo my first scan is on Monday cant wait.
Lo seems to be very attracted to our magazine rack at the moment and taking everything out of it
Our cat has gone to his new home today. Well if he gets on with the ladies other cat it will be. Lo thought he was a moving toy.
Were going to my parents tommorrow for the weekend. Im going to Matalan in Dover to get some bras and anything else that catches my eye while Im in there .

samsmam · 22/06/2007 06:55

Have a lovely weekend Gingeme- since I found out I was pregnant I have become really aware of how much I actually pick LO up! Very strange.

Weather is awful here today- rain, rain, rain! I am off to Bluewater with my mum to browse. At least its under cover! Got an engagement party tomorrow night its in a garden- hope they have a gazebo (sp?)

majormoo- I did get the third degree tear after already being cut! But I think the gas and air and two pethidine shots masked the memory of birth. Lol
Wish LO would crawl as she is nearly there and she could then follow me instead of crying everytime I turn my back. i'll probably wish I hadn't said that!

Rumpel · 23/06/2007 12:59

Gingeme - enjoy! Put your feet up and get looked after.

Samsmam - I have hen night tonight - am dreading it! Have to pick up MIL and her friend - just going for meal but not really in the mood. Am such a hermit these days Enjoy your party though.

Dont know how badly I tore in labour as I had to get rushed off to theatre as the umbilical cord snapped -no one ver told me. But am all healed up now and pelvic floors are in pretty good nick now. Thought sex would feel peculiar - like throwing a sausage up a close! I am however, back to normal apparently

Maebee - your LO is clever baby! My LO thinks her legs are just to hold her feet on

Have added some photos to my profiel if anyone wants a peek. Have a lovely weekend all.

It is my birthday tomorrow (35) So I am having a cake from Greggs to celebrate

BENDYB · 23/06/2007 16:40

happy birthday for tomorrow rumpel!!!!

Rumpel · 24/06/2007 20:08

Hi All,

Quite nejoyed the hen night last night - was nice to meet some new people and have some intellectual conversation, although left early as was taking MIL and her friend home.

Had a very quiet birthday - had a lie in with LO and Sunday Times this morning. Had waffles, ice cream and fresh Scottish strawberries for lunch - yum! Then sausage, chips and beans for dinner [nostaligia emoticon]. Diet has obvioulsy been out on hold for today. Hope you all had a good weekend.

Pole dancing again tomorrow - never made it last week but intercostals feel better so am hoping I will be better at it tomorrow - the back spin is very difficult! Am wearing my new shoes - gradually my ankles are getting used to being squished up

Happy Birthday Rumpel
Glad you had a relaxed day. The weekends just go too fast.

LO has another cold it may be more teeth. The weather doesn't help! Wish it would brighten up and give us out summer.

totallyfloaty35 · 25/06/2007 09:12

happy birthday rumple, glad you had gd one x

EeyoreIsFab · 25/06/2007 10:20

Hi All! Happy Birthday to Rumple for yesterday (only bit of the thread I've managed to read!).

I've been busy working the past few weeks - only a couple of days each week, but definitly enough.

Just come on to have a moan really (sorry) - I just tried to download my digital photos to my computer & the disc has gone wrong, so I've lost all DS's photos since April including our first holiday pictures . Luckily my parents were on holiday with us to & have some photos we can copy & we'll just have to recreate the Father's Day ones.
