Ginge,my council supplies washable nappies for free, see if your council does a similar scheme.
Taff,so glad your lo is on the mend
Cant believe some of us are just turning 21,i vaguely remember being that young
Rumple,im trying to find a pole dancing class near me,ive tried it a few times and its great, but lately i been doing belly dancing as its gd for women with a lot of booty

Slim · 18/06/2007 08:25

Gingeme: good luck for the scan

Rumpel: I also have MIL's wedding at the end of the month (am pretty sure we're not related though!). Have also bought vertiginous heels and must try them out before then. Am wearing no-bf friendly dress, but we've booked a room in the hotel so can disappear to strip off and feed DS (and get a bit pf peace and quiet .

Not precisely slim though back to pre-pg weight (just not shape ).

Slim · 18/06/2007 08:25

TOTALLY - I bellydanced for 4 years and will start again when we move. Had to stop as I was ill when pg, then she moved class out of town and couldnt go. LOVE bellydancing - have lots of fabby bellydancing clothes. Had a couple of classes when I was in Dubai too. Even danced in front of 200 people at a hafla before - great fun. Do a google for pole dancing classes. I bought a hula hoop to practice with too - great for bellydancing.

Am full of horrid cold (Cught from Amber) so no dacning for me today as my nose wont stop running. Probably just as well as my rib muscles are still iffy and we will be lugging boxes soon so should really rest them.

GINGEME - DH just laughs - Most people think of gorgeous sexy person pole dancing - so not the case with me! Am still 2 stone overweight and not as flexible as I used to be. It is good fun though and great for toning up.

Went to the gym yesterday, havent had a chance to go much lately and am with slow weight loss. Managed to run in intervals and was at the feel of my derriere and thighs jiggly wobbling behind me - was like that advert - bellys gonna get ya! Amber had me up most of the night last night - her routine has gone AWOL last 2 weeks - so am having a day at home packing, internet browsing and generally being a slob!

SLIM - well done on weight loss. What is your outfit like for the wedding?

hi all,
my boy was born on oct 2nd 2006....can i join in? even if i prefer a big glass of red to puddings?!?

a quick scan through the last posts makes me want to add that we use reusable nappies (as much cos we are skint as cos of ecological reasons), we currently use bambino mio cos i made a REALLY good deal on mumsnet getting some second hand. they are fine, prefer them to kushies ultra which we were using. they come in two parts, wraps and the nappies, so you just upsize the wraps as you go along but keep the nappies.

my boy seems to be growing out of this lot though so might be on the lookout for new wraps.

my baby is barely a baby anymore. he was a frustrated grumpy git until he started crawling about a couple of months ago, but he seems to think crawling is for babies and is determined to be walking by 9 months! im somewhere between proud and terrified, and a bit sad he's already at the toddler stage. i dont think i'll have another one, my body is still battered from his birth (got an anal fissure im trying to heal still....that really puts me off a second baby more than anything!)

its such a cliche, but how come they grow up so quick?!?

oh, and he used to be a godawful sleeper but we did the whole Tracey Hogg pickupputdown thing, and now he sleeps from 7 til 5.30 without waking usually. would like to get it a bit later than 5.30 mind you!

MaeBee · 18/06/2007 15:27

oh, and ive been expecting my period to come back for ages....and it hasnt yet. have you lot got yours back? ive stopped feeding my lo at night, but i do feed him in the day on demand. planning to carry on for a year. breastfeeding i mean, not feeding at all! , but ive been carrying a sanitary towel around in my bag with me for ages, waiting for the big day!

Slim · 18/06/2007 15:35

aaargh message got deleted. Try again:

MeBee: hi, tis Swizzler here. and at your good nights!

Rumpel: red dress, gold shoes (can't find pic but from Hobbs and lurvely).

samsmam · 18/06/2007 15:45

Welcome MaeBee, a friendly bunch we are!

We are at the moment switching LO's main meal to teatime, and we have started to eat with her at 5pm at the dinner table. Lunchtime today she had cheese on toast, half a squashy nectarine and a yoghurt- tonight she is having homemade fish pie.

Two top and two bottom teeth now. No crawling, more bum shuffling to get to the place she shouldn't be! DVD player, bookshelf, laptop etc..........

LO had physio today- she has been discharged from their care as her neck is 'normal' now which is good news.

Slim- did you get LO weighed?

MaeBee · 18/06/2007 17:21

swizzler! good to meet you again! how are your nights going???
my lo's got 2 bottom teeth, one through at the top and to the side, and has 2 more coming through. its been a rocky few days in the grizzleguts department.

Rumpel · 18/06/2007 17:37

Welcome Maebee - what is your LO called?

Slim - Green dress, scarlet shoes! I just love red shoes

Only 2 teeth here, although 4 top ones have been threatening for ages. LO has been a wee sweetheart today - I am feeling truly awful and she has been so good at entertaining herself. Her favourite game is to rip up newspapers or magazines - keeps her happy for ages. She had macaroni with veg sauce for lunch and steak pie, puff pastry, green beans, mushrooms, onions and mash for tea. Just started giving her red meat and she follows in my family and Dh family footsteps - total carnivore. She does have a sweet tooth like her mammy though Adores petit filous pots. Taste like fruitella to me.

She is in 12 -18 month babygrows now

my lo is called Orin. its old english, means ash tree, but usually when i tell people that they think i said ashtray!

oh no! the descriptions of baby dinners are making me feel inadequate. maybe my boy isnt eating enough?!? but he is a stonking weight, was 21 pounds about two months ago. he had beetroot and orange soup for lunch; which was our dinner last night too; and cheese omlette for dinner. cant work out if you are meant to give them eggs or not, so i just went ahead and did it. we dont usually give him dairy anyway, cos he's prone to the odd spot of excema.

my lo still puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. when do they grow out of it? allegedly?

totallyfloaty35 · 18/06/2007 18:44

my lo only weighs 18lb3oz! she eats anything though, loves kalamata olives with a passion. For dinner she had cod with cous cous and sundried tomato and olive pesto.
Welcome maebee,i been giving lo eggs for last 2 wks,in fact she had egg an cress sandwich for lunch.
Rumple,i found some pole dance classes, they in brighton and a bit booked up,she has put me on the waiting list

MaeBee · 18/06/2007 19:00

totallyfloaty35 - gawd, your lo's dinner sounds great too! do you make something seperate, or is it cos thats what you're all eating? my boy gets posh food when he's having the same as us, but otherwise he gets steamed carrot sticks and rice cakes!

totallyfloaty35 · 18/06/2007 21:10

i make up batches of stuff and freeze it or she gets what we have, her dinner today took 3 mins to make, steam cod, pour boiling water on cous cous and add tom pste with chopped olives. She hates bland food, she cries if she gets baby rice, i even have to put garlic in her veg!

gingeme · 19/06/2007 09:54

samsmam: congrats! indeed! how terrifying and exhilirating all at once!!! i havent yet even managed to have penetrative sex.... my dp is being very patient and sympathetic but is gagging for it. am too nervous cos got this anal fissure thing, and NO sex drive, and general parental tiredness.
