Hello?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
kiansmum · 27/08/2007 19:07

Hi everyone,
Hope you're all ok. It sounds like we're all going through the same thing at the mo with our LOs.
Kai has been out of sorts since saturday. He's not eating and drinking properly, he's got a temp and not sleeping properly. His eyes are all puffy and he looks really poorly. I took him to a&e this morning and the dr agreed he's definately unwell but doesn't know what it is!! I just have to keep giving him calpol and he should improve. I definately think it's his teeth tho.

I'm gonna be wearing either a pink wedding dress or an ivory one( i loved Jordans but couldn't afford one the same!) and the bridesmaids will wear either pink or black. I prefer me in pink with the bridesmaids in black. Not sure what style yet tho. Your wedding sounds really unusual Rumpel and your dress etc sounds great. Have you kept it?

Gingeme, hope your scan goes ok. I'm really excited to hear what flavour it is!
I am 34+6 today already. It's gone so quick this time round. I'm still trying to work out how i'm gonna cope with 4!!!!

babyducky · 27/08/2007 20:52

kiansmum-
have u looked on ebay for dresses? They have got some pink ones on there, similar to jordans for around £250!

I hope your kai is ok, poor thing!

yeah gingeme they must be contacting each other! Its weird!

I'll be back on tomorrow afternoon to check your news!

samsmam · 28/08/2007 09:01

Morning all, a bit to catch up on!

I've been hiding away! Suffering a little depression I did get it with LO too, I think it is more tiredness that gets me. Worrying about how I am going to cope physically with communting and working again. Just feel awful.

Rumpel- I am trying to resist those little balls of honeycomb! but unfortunately I ate a whole bag the other day. Only the one so far and I am nearly 14 weeks!

Really excited about Gingemes scan. I wo't be finding out unless I can persuade DP to change his mind.

Good news on move Gem. Good luck with the job search.

very strange my LO has always slept from 3 months and the last 5 nights she's woken up between 3 and 5.

gingeme · 28/08/2007 11:24

Hi samsam have you been checked out for anti natal depression? Or are you like me basicaly just knackered? lo has a horrid cold and has a snotty nose like Ive never seen. Its so yuk! I have to sneak up on him with a tissue though or he crawls away very very fast.
He stood up loads on his own yesterday getting very sure of himself now. This morning I put his mat on the floor to change him, popped to the bedroom to get his clothes, came back and he was sitting on his mat ready to be changed. Hes so clever. Mind you he didnt stay still at all so I could change him. Oh no hes too busy trying to escape.
Well roughly 3 hours to go till we find the flavour.
Couldnt you ask your dh to leave when you have your 20 week scan samsam? Or would it be impossible for you to keep it a secret?

samsmam · 28/08/2007 12:06

I had antenatal depression with LO that I managed to get myself out of then it returned as postnatal which again I got through with just counselling. This time I am hoping that it is because I am just totally knackered.

I could ask DP to leave the room and I think I could keep it a secret. Maybe I'll try that.

LO has this horrible horrible cold too. i hate green snot. Its the first cold I've experienced like this. She seems happy though. She loves Medised- no fighting to get her to take that!

I'll check back later for the flavour reveal!

Gemmitygem · 28/08/2007 15:09

hi all,

Just been reading in London Review of books about a mother's club that ran from the 1940s onwards, which was basically mumsnet but they just wrote each other letters and kept forwarding them. Now someone's publishing all the juicy bits. Sounds really interesting! all sex scandals with their GPs and things!

Anyway,... good luck with the scan Gingeme! How exciting! and samsmam and kian's mum all pregnant! Really makes you broody...

Rumpel, don't think I'd get very far as an Amsterdam lady of the night what with the stretch marks and all . will look for honest employment!

I think some people might have changed their names, is that right?

Sposed to be looking for jobs so will go and do that, congrats on yours wuzzle.

can't stop going on blumming facebook, it's so addictive!

right, time for tea (pasta again)...

samsmam · 28/08/2007 15:43

Quick question what do people give their LO's for lunch?
I seem to be giving the same thing of cheese cubes, raisins bits of ham and either, bagel, bread or toast. Fallen into a trap and wonder what else I can do.

Gemmitygem · 28/08/2007 16:43

samsmam, my LO has main meal at lunchtime, like mince and potatoes or tuna and pasta, or chicken and veg, something like that.. then a cheesy/milky type thing or cheese on toast in the evening. what about pancakes? My lo loves them...

samsmam · 28/08/2007 17:37

LO is sitting munching on roast potatoes, brocolli, carrots, chicken cubes and yorkshire pudding as I type. I only give main meal at 5pm because we all sit and eat together that way I don't cook twice a day.

Yummy, pancakes I'll end up eating them as well!

babyducky · 28/08/2007 18:20

samsmam- Kai has a hot meal at lunchtime, but to save cooking twice he just has what we have had the night before, he had curry today, loved it!
Then around 5 he has toast, cheese etc but i tend to give him the same things all the time aswell! Everything u said really! & he has yogurt or banana or nectarine or pear
not sure what else to give him!
He sometimes has pitta breads instead of normal bread, or ricecakes, & sometimes bits of melon or cucumber aswell.

gingeme where are you???
We are all desperate to find out!

gingeme · 28/08/2007 18:28

Hello hello here I am
Well what can I say. The scan was fascinating and ds3 was realy impressed and kept asking if the lady could look at the baby in his tummy please?
Well I wont keep you in suspenders any longer
we are having another boy. I said to dh his sperm were crap. Must admit I was dissapointed at first and yes it is DEFINATELY a boy. Ho hum still no pinkness in this house.
Very good scan though. I have to have another one in 4 weeks time as he is a little 'bigger' than he should be. I think this is gonna be my 10 lber

babyducky · 28/08/2007 18:37

hello gingeme!!!

Glad all went well! Great that your having another boy,

I had a feeling it would be!!!

At least you wont have to buy a load of stuff eh?

How much did your other boys weigh then?

lol at crap sperm!

Rumpel · 28/08/2007 19:03

Oh - GINGEME - what can I say? He will be just as fab as your other 4 boys though! You will probably eventually end up with all granddaughters and no grandsons! Then you can spoil them and hand them back when they are kicking off.

Amber slept right through last night - thank goodness. So I am a bit stupid today as I had a full nights sleep.

DH is away again until Friday. Actually got around to looking out my Uni stuff today and bringing it downstairs - big step towards actually doing something.
A has nursery for the full morning tomorrow - so she can be a social butterfly. Still nmo blooming teeth despite runny sore bums, screaming and dribbling. Sigh.

Oh well night all - hope all you pg ladies are keeoing well and cooking Los well.

kiansmum · 28/08/2007 20:21

Hi all,
Hope today's been a good day for everyone.

Congrats on your little(or not so little!) man Gingeme. Little boys are so loving compared to little girls ime. Any ideas on his name yet or are you keeping hush hush?

Kai's been alot better today although he didn't sleep at all last night, so DP was off work today as he was so shattered from being kept awake. These teeth have got alot to answer to!

Oh, i can't believe it. We have just put our car up for sale as we need to get a people carrier due to our expanding family! and as soon as we put it up for sale the head gasket went!! What a bl*y nightmare. Hopefully things can only get better.

I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels like they feed their LO the same all the time. It is hard to know what else to give them. It was funny the other day. My mum gave Kai a whole apple to see what he did with it. After about half an hour there were these little bite marks all over it but he didn't manage to get any apple so we cut it up for him. Bless him. Kept him quiet for a while tho.

I can't believe my eldest 2 go back to school next week. The summer hols have flown by. It'll be christmas before we know it!

samsmam · 28/08/2007 20:52

Gingeme- I was fingers crossed for pink for you but a little blue one is a blessing too. You'll have your own little 5-a-side football team!

princessllama · 28/08/2007 22:13

hi, have been reading all posts trying to catch up. sorry it's not going to be a girl gingeme, but you could have a great football team as samsmam said.
gemmittygem sounds great you're moving to holland, still, how will you get hold of fermented horse milk for your next pg? (it's me marthahm)
does anyones lo sleep through? prob not a q should be asking. if lots of you say yes then i'll feel like i'm doing something wrong and if you all say no i'll give up hope we'll ever get sleep again.
lo took her first step yesterday then fell on her face. i wasn't there but dh witnessed it-don't know how reliable a witness he is as he is deeply proud and over competitive. she is saying no alot, woof, moo, and mumma and dadda. i think she thinks the cat says moo. still only 2 teeth.
gingeme and samsmam i'm feeling knackered too. also v affected by hormones-keep feeling dh doesn't fancy me anymore as look fat not pg and am much bigger than with last pg even though he keeps saying he does. have got big flab bits on hips. i am nearly always hungry. look back on 1st pg as if was saint, always had time to eat something healthy when starving (except buckets of hula hoops and occas tub of ice cream) now just want cocoa pops all the time.
going away without lo for first time on friday for 2 nights. i'm hoping she'll be ok and i'll be ok.
i'd love to meet up at the v and a. would be great and easy and food is delicious.

gingeme · 28/08/2007 22:15

Hi Im back. Had a bit of a crisis in Tesco. Thought wed treat ds3 and let him walk round with us instead of going in the trolley. He was as good as gold till we got to the freezer bit then he climbed on the tiny ledge bit and came down on his chin biting into his tongue quite badly. Blood everywhere and lots of tear and screaming. Got him home with the help of a Bob book where he was violently sick and not a happy bunny. 2 ice pops and 2 spoons of Medised and hes ok now. And were doing it all again
babyducky my other boys were:
DS1 8lb 7 oz
DS2 7lb 13 oz
DS3 7lb 6 oz
DS4 8lb 13 oz

So my reconning this one will be atleast a 10 pounder.
Anyway Im going to bed now. Got my mw appt at 10 tommorrow.
Night all xx

gingeme · 29/08/2007 09:07

Morning ladies.Rumple grand children. Not realy something Id considered at the age of 36 though my step son is getting married next August so you never know
Kiansmum no names agreed on yet though dh likes Henry at the moment and I like Peter so Im going to have alook later at some name books.
Lo was up from 11-12.30 again last night. I tried everything from medised to milk. Ended up watching tele at 12midninght till he fell aslepp. Hes still in bed now.
Well I hope your all well today xx

samsmam · 29/08/2007 10:02

Morning- I am so lazy this morning I have't even got LO and myself dressed.

LO woke up at 1.30am again. I am wondering if it is because I am giving her main meal in the evening. I am going to try it the other way round today.

Baby names is always a difficult one especially when both of the couple have completely different tastes! It is definitely George for a boy but the girls names we are stuck on again. I like Georgia and Charlotte. I think I should choose this time.

Gingeme- Hope DS3 is ok this morning- what should be a simple trip out turning into a stressful trip.

gingeme · 29/08/2007 12:12

Yes samsam ds3 is fine and his usual self this morning.
I suggested George but dh doesnt like it
Just had my mw appt. Alls well except some ketones in my urine. Never had this before but the mw said its nothing to worry about but Ive got to eat a bit more yippee an excuse to eat more. Well she said thats why Ive been feeling so tired and what with having the other two to run around after Ive got to keep my energy up.
Thats about it for now. re meet up V&A sounds good. Any ideas for dates?

wuzzlefraggle · 29/08/2007 12:30

lol 'bust' gingeme, you dont miss a trick!

oo, another boy, as someone said, at least you wont have to buy loads of stuff. Im sure he will be fantastic

We did have a good weekend and Anna had a lovely time splashing about in her paddling pool.

kiansmum · 29/08/2007 15:06

Hi ladies,
Hope you're all ok.

Princessllama- Did you have a good time in France? I know exactly where you're coming from where you feel DP couldn't possibly fancy you with flabby hips. I keep saying it too and no matter how much reassurance i get i still won't believe him!

Samsmam- I love the name Georgia for a girl, it's really pretty. I like Charlotte too but definately prefer Georgia.

Gingeme- Good luck on your name choosing too. Henry's a lovely traditional name and George is too. I really love the name Sebastian but you'll probably think i'm weird!

gingeme · 29/08/2007 17:14

Thats the trouble we had a girls name all picked out. She would have been Amy May Patricia. I also realy like the names Siobhan basicaly because of the way its spelt but that would be wasted on my family as they cant even spell ds2's name Connor right after 12 years
Lo is realy trying to walk now. He stands loads on his own and would rather push his walker along than actualy sit in it like hes supposed to. His nose is realy runny today. H e realy fights against you when you try to wipe it though so I have to use a wet wipe which is making his little nose a bit sore.

EffiePerine · 29/08/2007 18:02

Gingeme: coongratulatons on DS5 . Just think of all those lovely boys being nice to you (and you get to scare off their girlfriends ).

Princessllama: sleeping through? Snort. DS has never slept through and I'm satrting to wonder if he ever will. Still I guess we're used to it now.

Samsmam: is it worth going to the gp or having a word with your mw? Dealing with a baby and being pg sounds exhausting. We're thinking of TTCing next year and I'm wondering how to cope with a toddler as well!

kiansmum · 29/08/2007 18:32

Effieperine- You're not alone. Kai has never slept through either. We reckon he'll just start sleeping through and the other one'll come along and not sleep.(she's due in 4 weeks!) Will i ever get any sleep again!?!
