Hiya
Katy - Just read about your car accident, hope you are ok. Even with my baby on board sign drivers still tail gate me and it makes me so nervous.

Nutty - Erin is such a cutie and i loved the pic of the 4 generations. Glad it went well and the cake looks lovely.

Mammyjo - I agree with the others re F's weight gain its probably nothing to worry about. How was F with her jabs?
S had hers on Thursday, I couldn't watch so DP held her whilst the nurse stabbed her in both legs, she screamed and had a bit of a fretful evening but other than that was ok.

bumble75 · 05/06/2007 17:40

Gorgeous christening pics and cake is fab!

L was 10lb when she was born so has put on a pound and 4 oz in 4 weeks, took her nearly 3 weeks to get back to her birth weight - was definitely hard thinking she wasn't putting on weight while enduring the agony of sore nips... now I just have the sore nips!

Still taking things one feed at a time re bfing - some are good, others so painful I could scream but the painful ones seem to be less frequent. Am giving it till six weeks and if I haven't got to pain free am going to stop.

Mammyjo, no advice but try not to worry too much.

Ange - good news about Izzy's eyes

And very of the warm weather for CB and Maveta - is miserable in Edinburgh today...

Hi to everyone else - can't believe I've made it on to post twice today!

xxx

liath · 05/06/2007 17:56

here too, I love living in Edinburgh but it really sucks when we're swathed in low cloud while the rest of the country basks in the sun (and my London sister gloats about how lovely it is there ).

Mammyjo, just to add reassurance - those charts aren't good for BF babies. Ds has a totally different growth velocity to dd - when I look back at her red book he's the same weight at 7 weeks as she was at 12 weeks despite them being much the same at birth. He's filling 3-6 month clothes already the porker !! I'm sure he could cope through the night but sadly he has other ideas!!

Feeding going better today, am taking it a day at a time at the moment as I'm struggling with a ferocious let-down but got some useful tips from the thread I started.

LesleyR · 05/06/2007 18:31

Completely missed out on last thread, but have had a quick skim of this one.

Erin is a cutie Nutty lovely pics. I think MILs can be so insensitive at times.

at car accident Katy, glad you and LO are ok.

Had a good week in NE with parents. My mam is besotted with George. She's staying with my gran half the week, she started her chemo last week and has been so poorly. It was nice for mam to have us there.

I bravely went for lunch with mam, MIL and George one day. I'd made an appointment to get my eyebrows shaped and eyelashes dyed as well. Typically G slept like an angel apart from the 20 minutes that I needed to be in the room with beautician! Ended up giving him bf in salon reception watched by loads of old ladies, then left him with his grandmas who took it in turns to try and calm him down.

Feeling a bit lonely now I'm home it was lovely to have support last week. I had some lovely long baths when the grandparents took G for morning walks. Some days her I don't get to brush my teeth until lunchtime!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 05/06/2007 18:47

Awwww, pics are lovely nutty - Erin is SUCH a little cutie and the cake is fab! Glad you had a lovely day with your fmaily.

As usual, I am tiiiiired. Need to crack on with SIL's Orders of Service, it is her Wedding on Saturday, after all ..... Ho Hum ......

Phoebe is 5 weeks (or is it six ....!!?) and weighs 9lb ish .....

EllieK · 05/06/2007 19:07

well, it would appear that Joe is the heffalump of the group, I need Octo on here, as I reckon Ernie is only one can beat him

Joe was weighed on Wednesday last week, at 6 weeks and 5 days, and was 12lb 9oz
having started at 8lb 7.5oz. He's following the 91st percentile

evening folks. a quick skim here as we have just got c down and need fed.

nutty - i love to see pics of babies and erin is so lovely - what a dote!

like bunmble and liath - we are still takign each day / each feed as it comes. it has got a bit easier but there is still painful feeds and hard days. i amtryignto stop stressing myself about it and beating myself up ove rit. i am tryingto be chilled about whatever happens in the next couple of weeks over her feeding.
i have now managed to feed in public / ion fornt of people 3 times. that may not seem like alot but for me and these gigantic boobs - it is a big step! liath / bumble - i ma heading through to edinburgh for work next week. is there any nursing rooms in john lewis/ jenners??
no sunshine here today but fingers crossed for lovely lovel weatehr in the next few days as we are hadin out and about to meet folks. i want to dress her up in the pretty clothes she has gotten as gifts and show her off.

mammyjo · 05/06/2007 20:25

Thanks to everyone for the reassurance. Dh actually made a good point too. Over the last couple of weeks F has started to only wake once a night for a feed whereas before that it was every couple of hours so she may well be getting less calories in. That would def explain the slower weight gain.

EllieK · 05/06/2007 20:31

hi all

children (mine in particular) are odd

Matthew has just asked me "mummy, why does Joe need feet?"

OP posts:
liath · 05/06/2007 20:31

Wow, Ellie - I was impressed at ds being 10lb . I look at him and think "where has that delicate little newborn gone?".

WO, there's a feeding area in John Lewis where the loos are - it's tucked away in the baby changing room and is nice and private. Not sure about Jenners as it's so buggy un-friendly I haven't been in for ages. Let me know if you want to meet for coffee, what with your giant norks and me spraying milk forty feet in all directions it could be a laugh !

EllieK · 05/06/2007 20:39

i can't see any posts! whichever thread i go on i can see nothing, just the title and add message

Sexonknackeredlegs · 05/06/2007 21:10

Evening all.

Read the posts and once again forgotten most of it, so apologies.

Nutty, what lovey pics, and Erin is gorgeous - you must be very proud. Glad the Christening went well, and lol at the little girls comments. I love the fact that children have no concept of time!

Ange, really pleased that Izzy's eyes are ok - what a relief for you. Hope she gets on ok with the medication.

Liath, WO - good to see the Scottish crowd. Has anyone heard from GMM?

Mammyjo, it has all been said already, but if your HV is not worried about F, then all should be ok. I know it is hard not to worry though isn't it. Their weight gain is bound to slow down and then increase again - I remember that about B (about the only thing I do rememeber!)

Bumble, lovely to see you.

Ellie, pmsl at Matthew's comment. Hilarious - I read it out to dh as I thought it was so funny.

B made me laugh the other day. We went for lunch in the New Forest. She asked us where the old forest was! Bless her.

Can't remember anything else - really tired today. Actually got of my backside, and went for a walk with K. Walked about 3 miles which isn't far, but 1. it was baking hot, and 2. I ended up having to carry her half the way, as she was yelling in her pushchair!

My arms are killing me!!

Having an ok evening. I gave K her bath and for the first time, gave her her bottle in her room (normally sit in the kitchen, but it was becoming a pain creeping round the kitchen with her sleeping in there). And so far so good.

Hope everyone has had good days, and have good evenings/nights too.

Lots of love.

oooggs · 05/06/2007 21:10

what nappies is everyone using?

Sexonknackeredlegs · 05/06/2007 21:13

Hi Oogs, I am being very ungreen, and using Pampers Newborn up to 11 pounds. What about you?

oooggs · 05/06/2007 21:15

sorry guys, but I am with you SOKL - pampers newborn size 3. When are you moving onto babydry?? This is the reason I am asking, but too worried I was the only one using disposible

AngeG · 05/06/2007 21:16

Pampers newborn for me also

AngeG · 05/06/2007 21:17

3 of us together then

EllieK · 05/06/2007 21:18

i'm using Huggies, tried Pampers but they don't go round Joe's chunky legs as well as Huggies do, until you get to the babydry ones, I have them in size 3 and they fit well, and similar size to huggies size 2

OP posts:
liath · 05/06/2007 21:19

Didn't get on with pampers at all, leaked badly. Switched to cloth in the first week so using mainly motherease one size and sandys.

AngeG · 05/06/2007 21:20

When I had J baby dry started at size 3 and newborn finished at size 2, so started using them then.

I'll probably use baby dry 3 at night and newborn 3 during the day...assuming she's sleeping well at night at that point.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 05/06/2007 21:20

I guess we will change when K reaches 11 pounds. Huggies were too big for K's thighs - she is quite scrawny in the leg department!

Have had 2 leaky nappies today tho - ughhhh!

EllieK · 05/06/2007 21:22

Joe's a little rugby player in the making
