Macca I hope you realised I wasn't exactly serious in my rantings
I am that odd thing a redhead who has never had a problem with my hair colour, I've been the only one in my family up to now so it's nice to have company and I'm really not that stroppy

2boysmacca · 31/05/2007 08:51

I am, very stroppy!

damewashalot · 31/05/2007 08:56

DH may not agree with me there

Flame · 31/05/2007 08:56

The only two red heads I remember from school (boys) were gooooooooooorgeous, and when they got older and went to college they both grew it really long and looked sooooooooooo good

damewashalot · 31/05/2007 09:01

The one thing that bugs me is that it is the one thing that people notice/ remember about me but it does make me easy to find in a crowd

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 09:02

Dame! I am actually a red (well purple now) head through choice. My reasoning behind hoping ds's hair changes colour is because of the exact reason that Macca described from the bullying when she hit that age where kids are just horrible. I think he looks absolutely adorable And as for putting him back, we were obviously only kidding (however, swopping him was always a sensible possibility )

Now, have you calmed down you firery little minx

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 09:04

Whoops crossed posts - I did think you were serious

2boysmacca · 31/05/2007 09:05

I used to blush something terrible too, and I mean, go bright red, even at the slightest thing. I used to get anxious that I would turn red and then I'd go red because I was thinking about it. How silly, that now I wish I was still as red (haired) as I was back then!

ChasingSquirrels · 31/05/2007 09:15

um, what did csws say "Just pop in each night, say you can't remember what you've read, spout some drivel about your day, and hey presto, you're keeping up!", right then.
Readheads - none here, but not a suprise as none in the family, friend had two (and her and her dh aren't, but is in her family) and they are just geogeous, especially the girl, they are currently waiting on no.3 and she now wants it to have red hair so it doesn't feel left out.
Excercise - arrggghhh, you are all too sporty.
Went strawberry picking at my parents yesterday morning as they are away and you can't let strawberries go to waste. Then round to a friends (red-head family above) and the kids all played out in the rain
No plans for today yet.

damewashalot · 31/05/2007 09:18

I had hoped chloe that the huge amount of was a clue that I was at least a little tongue in cheek but seriously it didn't do Chris Evans any harm did it?
I was never carroty red which helps, mine's more what pretentious people call titian. It's funny that people expect kids to be mean about it as adults tend to love it Men and old ladies mostly!

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 09:23

Just thought you were very angry

I have just applied to go on How To Look Good Naked! - I wonder if they get back to me?

2boysmacca · 31/05/2007 09:23

I used to refer to myself as that and I always got...

Q 'What's titian'
A "Fergies colour"

damewashalot · 31/05/2007 09:29

Titian was a paiter that painted women with red hair wasn't he? used to get compared to fergie's a lot and that singer from fairground attraction. I think mine's nicer than fergie's bit darker and lots shinier we redheads are also modest I am ignoring the fact that it's mostly a mess and in a ponytail nowadays

damewashalot · 31/05/2007 09:31

Oh and oops I think I called macca pretentious I've always just called it ginger and chloe I could never do something like that!

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 09:40

I know, I'll let you know if I am prepared to if they get back to me - I watch that programme every wekk though and it always makes me feel good about myself so I'm guessing if I could go the whole hog and actually get the full on physical and mental makeover by Master Gok then I might well be on the way to being truly happy with myself.

damewashalot · 31/05/2007 09:45

I saw a bit of the one the other week with loads of women with their boobs out as were testing creams, it did make me look in the mirror a nd think that considering I've fed 3 babies with them mine aren't that bad and still point in kind of the right direction

Flame · 31/05/2007 09:56

DH would get really upset if I did that - would love to though

OP posts:
2boysmacca · 31/05/2007 11:30

Id love to do it too, if it wasn't televised!

ellenrose · 31/05/2007 18:17

Only enough time to watch the thread and say to Chloe - good luck with your application - I watch that programme every week and would love to have the courage to do it

Frizbe · 31/05/2007 18:29

Ok so I've found you! ha, teach ya to try and hide from me ;p

So what you all been upto, can anyone summerise since last Thur for me???

We had an ok time at work, bar the Fabreeze incident.

Took a friend with us and her 3 year old son, peed on the front seat of the car, whilst we were putting the tent up.....so on the Sat we got a bottle of Fabreeze (Tescos own version) to get rid of the stink in the car. Sat afternoon, I was just off to do a character bit, whilst friend looked after all the kids, when dh shouted 'DD2 NO' in that extreme terror kinda voice.....I look over and she's pouring Febreeze all over herself.....friend looks around and grabs it off her, dh and I have never run so fast in our lives, we both ditched what we were doing/about to do, grabbed her, ran to the standpipe and lobbed her face under it, hanging her upside down, until she stopped screaming and started spluttering at the water, whilst similtaniously yelling for a 1st aider dd2 was ok after saline administered to her eyes, we couldn't spot any sign of it in her mouth, reckon she realised once she started pouring it on her head/eyes that it wasn't for consumption that and the face friend grabbed it off her. Her hair smelt fresh for days, but I wouldn't recommend it.......
Poor friend disolved into tears at the other end of the site, turns out that her ds (aged 3 same as my dd1) had grabbed the bottle out of the car boot, when she went into get food.....he then took the top of it and placed it amongst the kids drinks, hence dd2 trying to drink it, he did this all in the space of about 3mins,hence he was not spotted. Needless to say he got a lecture off his mum, and I also lectured dd1, who'd watched it happen Spent ages telling poor sobbing friend it was not her fault, accidents happen, lucky we spotted it before it got any worse. Phew.

So Flame mum n dad have booked a caravan down your way in July and invited us to join them, so we're coming down, week begining 9th July, you have been warned!!!

Off out tonight with friend for girly night (coffee n cake for me, cake for her as she's preggers and can't stomach coffee) so will catch you all either later, or tomorrow.

Do I get the longest post award back?

Flame · 31/05/2007 18:47

for Frebreeze but for coming to meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

OP posts:
Flame · 31/05/2007 18:51

Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 19:08

What a nightmare Frizbe! I guess it can't be mega harmful though because you can put that stuff practically anywhere can't you?

Now then, dilemma. Do I dye my hair again before I go on holiday in 2 weeks as it has faded quite a bit and looks crap? Bear in mind that it tends to keep dying my towels for a couple of weeks! Or, do I sack it off as it will fade even quicker on holiday due to the sea/sun/excessive washing. Also, my scalp obviously isn't impressed with dying as it gets a bit scabby (psoriasis) but this doesn't normally stop me.

Flame · 31/05/2007 19:13

Leave it - the sun etc will do you scalp good.

OP posts:
Chloe55 · 31/05/2007 19:14

Yeah, you're right Flame - I'll probably only worry that I have purple dye rolling down my back all day anyway!
