Well i think i was the frist to 'pop' from the due in june thread so i thought it was about time we started the post-natal thread.

DS2 is 2 weeks on monday I had him 4 weeks early due to induction for OC. Everything is going really well and i think things are finally starting to settle down (i hope i haven't just spoken too soon!!)

He is really suffering with colic though and were getting about 4 hours sleep a night on average and with a 2.5 year old there is no chance of catching up in the day, but i shouldn't complain as i'm lucky to have got two wonderful boys. Thats it now NO MORE!!!!!9smile0

I know a few other june mums have had their babies so it would be lovely to hear from you to see how you are all getting on (when you get the chance )

TA, hope things are easing for you. the first few days are a bitch huh???!!!
I truely saulte you with all you have endured, you are a wonderful woman!!

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 11:59

I sometimes wonder about the validity of my advice Derlor...two babies does not an exert make.....so it's nice to see that with 5 babies between us we're saying the same things

foxybrown · 24/06/2007 12:05

Derlor, if you've got your HV had on, do you know anything about Fennel tea? Either Bumper drinking it or Hipp Organic do sachets for babies to drink (can't remember if its suitable from birth though) as a natural alternative to Infacol?

derlor · 24/06/2007 12:10

OK i've got you now.. stay here and don't move.
Foxy not sure about fennel tea, let me check that out.
Daisy FLIP 5 kids between us or 8, soon to be 9 if we let FOXY join!!!!!!!!!

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 12:11

foxy.....lilkel has been giving it to her LO and drinking it herself so i think its ok!

foxybrown · 24/06/2007 12:11

oh go on! Pleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaase!

twoplusone · 24/06/2007 12:13

foxybrown-In Germany, they give the babies fennel tea (is that green tea!!) in the hospitals, as they believe it is good for the digestive system.

Sorry for intruding..

Hope you are all enjoying your new los..

derlor · 24/06/2007 12:14

fennel tea is clearly the dogs bollocks!!! look

foxybrown · 24/06/2007 12:15

I remember how reluctant I was to give DS1 anything but breast milk (OK, you can laugh at me, thats fine - I am fully aware that I was the Most Precious Of The Precious First Time Mothers Club out of Preciousville ) that's why I think I had some. And gripe water, but I'm sure that's from 6 weeks isn't it?

derlor · 24/06/2007 12:16

think i might rub some on my sore nipples hey, it's worth a try

derlor · 24/06/2007 12:18

check me out I AM ON FIRE!!! gripe water
think i might change my name to "derlink"

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 12:21

i think you can get a herbal/homeopathic remedy for colic based on fennel and other herbs.

i'm sure kel will be along soon with the amount she feeds to her dd

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 12:24

thanks twoplusone!

derlor · 24/06/2007 12:25

major subject change alert.........
i've realised that a LOT of my nipple pain occurs AFTER applying purple nipple cream, SO i think i'm sensitive to lanolin, went and bought boots own nipple healling cream and spray (lanolin free) yesterday and it is bliss. Feels like a cold glass of wine on a hot day

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 12:30

LOL derlor at your description......now i want a cold glass of white wine.....but can't have any till Tuesday!

derlor · 24/06/2007 12:31

Tuesday? is that a special day?

hollyandalice · 24/06/2007 12:39

I can join you lovely ladies now!

HURRAH!!

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 12:40

I've been on nasty nasty antibiotics which make you really ill if mixed with alcohol.....advised not to have alcohol during course of ABs and for three days after.

Apparently its because of this side effect that this is the drug given to alcoholics to help them stop drinking!

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 12:40

holly......hows the wee (snort) man???

lilKelBel · 24/06/2007 12:41

God I'm so relieved y'all are staying in one place now. NOBODY LEAVE!!

First, bumper, take comfort, we've all been in your shoes I think. In fact I'm having a total panic now and this is my second - my girl decided to botch my efforts at a routine AGAIN and puked/peed/pood all over every outfit I just tried to put her in...

Yes Fennel tea is great. It can be so effective though, don't give too much (I did - ). Start with 1 oz of it 1 hour after a feed. Sit back and wait for the fireworks below to begin!

derlor · 24/06/2007 12:43

Hey Holly i just spoke to you on anti natal, KEEP STILL WOMAN!!!
How's things, how are Will and Alice getting on?

daisyboo · 24/06/2007 12:44

Bumper's gone quiet....I hope it's because she's fast asleep and her LO is contentedly napping in her cot!

hollyandalice · 24/06/2007 12:45

My new man is well and feeding like a trouper!

Hospital was pretty hideous, but we are home now and feeling good!

Hope you all and your los are well x
