you choose - for you or for your bubba

I can't believe the May thread is so excited that their babies are arriving. That time in our lives seems like soooooo long ago .

Piffle · 21/05/2007 14:25

muppet
email me your address to [email protected]
I'll send you my mothers bliss breast gel pads
I bought them as used to get mastitis a lot but have not had any at all
hey are yours if you want them

LunarSea · 21/05/2007 14:32

Amie - Sudocreme after any pooey nappies (only about 1 every 2 or 3 days) here, and no sign of any nappy rash yet. With ds1 Metanium was good and cleared it up very quickly. Now about that coffee....

muppethasakitten · 21/05/2007 14:34

Oooh... piffle are you sure? That would be great... I'll email you then. If you get mastitis now it will be all my fault! I will buy you some more and post them on to you if you do!

Really looking forward to my first riding lesson since having Sam - it's on wednesday so want to feel up to it.

Thankyou piffle.

Piffle · 21/05/2007 14:37

perfectly sure muppet they are taking up room in my fridge!

TheBlonde · 21/05/2007 14:53

Sazzy - hope you are okay after the burglary

divastrop · 21/05/2007 17:29

sazzy- about being burgled.i hope they get the bastards/bitches.

kitty-have you seen this thread

foxcub · 21/05/2007 18:36

Sazzy - how awful for you . That's the last thing you need when you have a little baby to look after

Re: picnic: If you all text me on 07902-208-830, I'll give you the address

Can you just remind me who has other DC's and what age, just so I am prepared toys wise:

Fox cub:
DS 6, DD 3 and Monti 11 weeks

thanx

Muppet - those gel pads are great, they really free up the milk. Have you tried putting hot clothes on the offending boob until the gel pads arrive?

Piffle - love Finn's sleeping pattren, what a dream

Diva - make the most of the alcohol break!

Dolly I might try that book too, sounds good

Mossie - Monti didn't grow out of newborn clothes until 7/8 weeks and he was 9lb 3oz at birth!! As long as Bertie is weeing, pooing occassionally and seems to be getting bigger he's sure to be OK. Good luck with the LL woman tomorrow. I had to see BF counsellors about 5 times with DS1 and with Monti two or three times

kittyhas6 · 21/05/2007 18:36

Diva, thanks

Sazzy, that's really awful. How are you doing?

foxcub · 21/05/2007 18:37

hot cloths Muppet, noy hot clothes!

AmieR · 21/05/2007 18:53

Sazzy - so sorry to hear that. There really are some scoundrels around. Hope you get things sorted quickly and that you are OK.

Diva - When you're LO had the trots, how often were her nappies dirty?

Mossie - Joe is 3 motnhs and 6 dyas and is just fitting into the 0-3 clothes! I wouldn't take too much notice of that, sizes from store to store vary so much too!

TheBlonde · 21/05/2007 19:29

Fox - I am still dithering re driving or public transport
We bought a car last year and I still haven't driven it yet
I will text you later
DS is 2, DD is almost 2 mths

Feeling very tired today and fed up of the rain
The P&T double raincover is huge and a total pain to fold away. I am tempted to buy a single!

DS is sporting yet another nursery injury. He had a nasty fall and hit his head on the edge of a door.

DollyPopsOut · 21/05/2007 19:35

Sazzy - that is terrible, I am so sorry to hear that. Is there anything you need or anything I can do to help? I am sure you have lots of support from RL people but if there is anything, let me know and I will do it. I am in S London so not too far away if you need anything.

Foxy - thanks for the invitation. I have a DD of just 2 as well as Tilly. I might try to offload DD1 though as I will be on public transport and it is a bit of a nightmare with 2 of them. Nursery owes me extra time so might use one of my days then.

Amie - lovely pictures . What a handsome chap!

Muppet - not had mastitis but know a hot flannel on the boob is very soothing if overful. Take care.

hello everyone else - under abit of time pressure this pm. Have started a thread about constipation (nice) in health if anyone has a moment to offer pearls of wisdom.

Back laterXXXXX

Booboobedoo · 21/05/2007 20:47

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Just typed a great, long message then deleted it by mistake! Bum.

Dolly: so sorry about your friend. Hope the news is not too bad. We can travel to Foxy's together if you want, then I can help with DD1!

Foxy: you're very generous offering up your home as a venue. It'll be great to put faces to (nick)names. Which day next week?

Laidback: sounds like you're doing the right thing helping your brother. It's not just about them, after all. There's a little life at stake!

Mossie: sounds like you're doing great with the BFing. I'm managing to express a couple of ounces in the morning, which I usually freeze, but if he's really cluster-feeding at night (and he's having a growth-spurt atm) I give him that in a bottle to take the strain off. It really helps.

Jonny goes to sleep at about 7-8pm and goes through until 1am. Then off again at 2 until 4 or 5, then wakes again at 7am. So I'm not getting much sleep. Thing is, I'm not very god at going to bed early as I'm so desperate for sime down-time in the evening.

He only weighs about 9lbs, and he's 9 and a half weeks. He only went into 0-3 months 2 weeks ago. He's a smidge!

I have loads of washing, mainly because dog-hair gets on everything.

Still loving every minute, but a bit fed-up with being so bloody tired all the time. Would love more than 3 hours sleep in a row...

Booboobedoo · 21/05/2007 20:48

btw Sazzy: so sorry to hear you were robbed! Hope they catch the bastards.

divastrop · 21/05/2007 21:08

before i catch up-have added some more pics to my profile for a short time.because im a bit tipsy

divastrop · 21/05/2007 21:14

amie-Elsie was pooing about 10 times a day for about 10 days.she ended up getting bottom thrush.i took her to the docs about 4 times but they kept saying she was fine and not to worry.

fox-its been so long since ive had spirits-about a year-that i now feel rat-arsed after 2 small gins with lots of cranberry juice.im struggling to type

morocco · 21/05/2007 21:17

how awful sazzy hope not too much got nicked and you are feeling ok.

mossie, you know I think everyone is right (aren't you all always!) about you being watched too much, it's hard then to just go with your instincts and that's how you learn. i vaguely remember now that it was the same with my mum and dh, they were always holding the bottle of sma over my head as well cos ds1 'wasn't getting enough'.

i was thinking about bf the other day - i just get on with it now, but it was hard the first time cos family weren't that supportive really. now I just do my own thing. but yesterday i tried to get dh to look at em feeding cos she's just sooooo cute and smiley and happy now when feeding, but he wouldn't look and reckons it's really disturbing . i wish he had been won round by it all but i guess it's not going to happen

Shrinkinglily · 21/05/2007 21:39

Diva lovely pics! You and the children are all looking great. Isn't Elsie a cutie!

Sazzy, much sympathy, we were burgled once, it's a horrible feeling.

I am beside myself with jealousy that you are all meeting up! I want to come and meet you guys and have a nosey at Foxy's house

Dh is off to Pakistan again on Friday to see his mum again. She is constantly calling for him, has been ill again and he's all worried.

My vacuum cleaner blew earlier, one of the children probably squirted water in it, they were cleaning and being very helpful

foxcub · 21/05/2007 21:44

Morocco - does your Dh want you to ff? My DH tried to persued me to FF DS1 as I was finding BF so hard, but he's kind of given up trying to convert me now . I think it was partly 'cos he wanted to help with the feeding and didn't like me suffering with sore nips and anguish.

Boo - I have same problem as you. Monti feeds about 10pm, then 1am, 4am, 7am, but I just can't make myself go to bed at 100m. Stay up until midnight and am knackered as a consequence...

Diva - I've had 2 glasses of cava and feel rat arsed - wahaayy!!! Cheers M'Dear

Dollypops/Theblonde - we're easy to get to either by train or car - Dolly bring DD if you like - my DD can boss her around and they can talk pink handbags and things

Kiwi - R U bringing your DD?

anyone watching the programme on au pairs?

foxcub · 21/05/2007 21:47

Dolly/theblonde - just realised your DS and DD are the same age

Shrinky - I wish you could join us too

kittyhas6 · 21/05/2007 22:37

I watched half of the Au pair prog. I'm need one soon, Don't know where to start
I don't want to trawl round looking. I want to go to an agency and say I need x,y, and z and they can send someone.

Excellent news on the alcohol front diva and foxy

eidsvold · 21/05/2007 22:43

sazzy - how terrible - have been burgled and it really isn't a nice thing.

nappy rash - generally I don't use a cream with dd3 unless it gets a bit pinkish and then I use pawpaw cream - absolutely fabulous.

paw paw cream

WHen in the UK - generally used sudocrem or tescos own zinc and castor oil. Used metanium mixed with sudocrem when dd1 was in hospital post heart surgery and had terrible nappy rash - it was brilliant.

Dd3 gets wipes with reusable wipes - mix of natural baby wash, olive oil and boiling water - then put wipes in - wait til they cool - ready to go.

eidsvold · 22/05/2007 01:55

well dd2 has finally done it - was doing some ironing this morning and told dd2 we were going to go upstairs in a minute and I needed to feed dd3. TUrned round and dd2 had her doll laying on her mini tramp - shirt up breastfeeding the doll. She told me she was feeding her baby just like mummy feeds dd3! I wondered how long it would take miss copycat to do it. It did look rather cute

kiwibella · 22/05/2007 07:37

kitty... a friend has an au pair from an antipodean agency - I can highly recommend!! I'll get back to you with the details

LunarSea · 22/05/2007 07:40

I feel drained this morning - literally! Toby fed last night from 10.30 until 4.30 - and then was wide awake and cooing and smiling and obviously not at all sleepy. Nice morning here though - might take him out for a walk later if I can stay awake long enough.
