you choose - for you or for your bubba

I can't believe the May thread is so excited that their babies are arriving. That time in our lives seems like soooooo long ago .

Eids, I remember ds1 doing that when dd1 was born, very sweet

Thanks Kiwi, that would be great!

Lunar, hope you manage top get some rest today. \yesterday, Ronnie didn't sleep all day he wanted to be carried and to feed pretty much all day. At night he wakes twice which isn't bad I guess.

Mossie · 22/05/2007 09:02

Sazzy I hope they catch them!!! Are you insured?

Morocco, my dh finds bf a bit weird too. No matter how much he tries to disguise it, he sometimes comes out with odd little comments and I know he finds it a bit offputting. I think he kind of sees it as a necessary evil for the first few months, but I think he is looking forward to when I finally stop. Of course it doesn't help that I obsess about it!!

Shrinky I hope your mil is okay.

Eids that's really cute, your dd bfing her doll!!

Foxy you p*sshead!

Everyone else, hope you're all doing well... Kitty remind me how much older Ronnie is than Bertie is it a week or was it two weeks??

Mossie · 22/05/2007 09:20

Advice welcome

kittyhas6 · 22/05/2007 09:31

mossie Ronnie was born on the 8th, so only about three days I think?

kiwibella · 22/05/2007 10:20

Kitty, it wasn't an agency after all - it was gumtree . This used to be a fab antipodean site where you could get the help you needed to get set up here (job, accommodation, basic household stuff). Now you have to scroll through the agents (rental and employment) and people offering cheap labour. If you have the time to find what you are looking for. When I next see my friend (I only sent a quick text) I will ask her if her nanny has any tips. I've met her a number of times and she is fab.

muppethasakitten · 22/05/2007 11:02

That's great kiwi... does that mean you're on a mission to head south?

we're trying to emigrate to sydney in 18 months to 2 years... am planning a trip to explore etc this year.

would prefer to go to NZ but have to start out in Oz cos of dh's work.

Where abouts in NZ are you from?

foxcub · 22/05/2007 11:22

Well done katie

that reminds me, we have three new passports I need to sort out...

I have a sore nip today after Monti has been sleepy for last 24 hours and not latching properly. He just did a mega poo which smelt just like sick . Seems Ok in himself though, when he's awake that is..

..feel a bit hungover today for some reason

kiwibella · 22/05/2007 11:36

Muppet - I lived in Wellington for 5 years before we came over here but I am from Palmerston North, which is 2 hours north of Wellington. Good luck with your plans to move... I would prefer to emmigrate to NZ rather than Australia too .

Yup, we want to take Kate to meet her grandfather who lives in Adelaide. Dad can't travel because of his health. I had given up all hope of being able to go over half-term (and some) and figured we would have to pay through the nose to go in August.

Hangover Fox I'm so disappointed that I won't make it to yours next week. It would be lovely to meet you all. What day was it going to be???

Must go do something while Kate is sleeping - I waste sooo much time trawling here .

ooops sorry, aren't you going to make it Kiwi? I must've missed that bit

Its FRIDAY BTW!

kiwibella · 22/05/2007 11:43

I will let you know once we have made a booking Fox.

Thought I would share this site which I have been recommended a couple of times now. It seems to have lots of useful information about feeding.

I'm from Wellington too Kiwi, my brother went to Massey Uni in P Nth and we also lived in the Manawatu for a few years - Foxton/ Feilding.

Just popping on to say hi and bye as DD (4)is really ill, yesterday had awful time when Finn was nappy off happily playing then dd just threw up and was covered head to toe in puke. I had to help her straightaway as she was floppy and pale, on cue Finn starts screaming (make snap decision he's been fed he's warm and safe) and sorted out dd pronto. Got phone and begged dp to come home, so he did.
But by the time he came home, couch/floor/pillows/cuddly blankets and soiled clothes were cleaned, dd was bathed and fragrant and a bit perkier, Finn was asleep in bed...
Had dreadful night though, dd was coughing all night and temp was massive she was sick a few ties and has really sore throat. Thak god Finn slept through from 10.30 -6 -9

Today dd is asleep on makeshift bed on the cough with dvds on. not eating or talking
Am catchign up on the enormous washing but just grabbing 5 mins to myslef...
Phew

Piffle · 22/05/2007 12:50

oh have added 2 new pics too

muppethasakitten · 22/05/2007 12:58

lovely pics piffle... you're the same as me... I know this is my last baby and I'm trying to treasure every bit of it... but that almost makes them change faster... they just seem to change so much with each week...

hope your dd gets better soon...

Kiwi do you fly air new zealand?

Shrinkinglily · 22/05/2007 14:55

Lovely pics Piffle. They are gorgeous children. I still think Finn looks abit like Hasan. Will eventually get some pictures up.

I've got a head ache today and a bit spaced out. Wondering if I am having hormonal things too, am all crampy and bloated.

foxcub · 22/05/2007 14:56

piffle - your poor DD, hope she recovers soon...love the pics and feel the same about my last baby too

foxcub · 22/05/2007 14:57

shrinky - sounds like you need some chocolate (could be withdrawal symptoms)

Shrinkinglily · 22/05/2007 14:59

Fox I feel that groggy I couldn't even stomach chocolate (I must be seriously ill)

foxcub · 22/05/2007 15:01

oooh you poor thing - that's serious!!

Booboobedoo · 22/05/2007 15:42

Managed to put a pic of Jonny on my profile!

Been nosing at everyone else's: what a gorgeous lot.

kiwibella · 22/05/2007 16:13

boo - that piccie is priceless!! How adorable is your cheeky man . Off to find your new shots Piffle.

Boo, where are you a singing teacher??

BTW - I'm also a Massey grad and my mama lives in Feilding. Spooky small world. So sorry to hear about your dd, lucky dh could come home to help console her. It's awful when they feel icky.

Muppet - no matter where we go, we always fly with who is cheapest which usually isn't AirNZ. That said, I have only been home once since I have been here and I went to Oz with Emirates last year.

Oh Rosy, you poor thing... has your dh left yet? You need time to snuggle up with your little guy (and all the others .
