you choose - for you or for your bubba

I can't believe the May thread is so excited that their babies are arriving. That time in our lives seems like soooooo long ago .

Ooh perhaps I should follow your lead. I'm scared of accidentally bidding vast sums for something I don't really want. Or getting bad reviews. I did try selling some stuff on Amazon a few years back and forgot to put the CD in the box once and the bloke I sent it to thought I was trying to rip him off. I'm too stupid I think

CallieNewMum · 17/06/2007 09:36

Morning all. Father's Day is not being celebrated in this house as Mother's Day was roundly ignored by a certain DP - he said, it would be from me, not Jordi so there's no point until he's old enough. Well two can play that game.

Does that sound mean? Tbh, if I'd remembered anytime between Wed (last time I was aware it was FD) and yesterday about 10 mins before the shops closed, I might have got him a card just to take the high ground and make him feel bad .

We're off to a friend's birthday brunch at 11. I'm knackered because I stayed up to watch a film until 12.15, the baby woke at 2.15, fed him, he woke again at 5 (wtf?) but fell asleep after I put some gel on his gums, then again at 7 for feed and up.

Diva, can I just ask, if Elsie doesn't take much of a feed because of teething trouble, do you try and give her another one sooner than you would have normally or just leave it till her next feed?

Shrinky, I'm hoping that about Jordi!

Hi back, TheBlonde (waves). Ooh, sounds like a great night - very . I could be catching 40 winks now while the baby has a sleep. In fact, I might go and do that. Everytime I was up last night, I had period pain , oh joy. I felt quite ratty yesterday but took the baby out for a walk in nearby woods next to a Victorian folly castle which cheered me up after the effort of pushing/pulling him up a near vertical, stony path got the good hormones circulating.

Well I got dh a HUGE mug for Father's Day with "I'm the Daddy" written on it. Into which I'm about to pour a brew for him.

That's all.

No time to reply to messages as Bertie a bit waily today (plus ca change)!

Hope you're all having good weekends!

foxcub · 17/06/2007 13:27

OMG its fathers day!!!

Where did I put those cards????????????

muppethasakitten · 17/06/2007 13:33

we've bought dh an ice-climbing lesson! He thinks we're trying to finish him off as we got him a tandem parachute jump for his last b'day!

Our 2 kittens arrived yesterday...OMG they are bonkers....

CallieNewMum · 17/06/2007 15:38

muppet, dp is terrified of heights so would literally die of fright if he had to jump out of a plane! and - Two kittens and three kids???? Good luck. show us a pic of them when you can.

Got DS on my lap while i type one-handed. He's having a bad day with teething but is quiet for now watching me. The brunch was nice although i wolfed it down in true mum of baby fashion as dp had got ds out of pram even though he was quiet so i was preparing myself to take over at any moment, as you do. was a bit annoyed with him tbh, once babes is up i dont relax properly, no matter who's got him - cos i know i'll have to step in eventually -, and had been enjoying a rare adult only 10 mmins. he did apologise on the way home.

does anyone recommend paracetamol for teething babies? I'm worried cos he's not drinking much and i cant get him to take water.

kiwibella · 17/06/2007 17:43

foxy ... same thing here - in fact dh reminded me it was father's day today. Left him to his sleep-in and suggested he should stay there until it was time for his cricket.

Kate won't settle, she keeps waking in her sleep. This talk of teething has me wondering....

I'm tired today! Have had a quick read but I will just say a "hi" to everyone and wave madly .

Hey Shrinkinglily - I suspected it was you but was afraid to say!! Ive been suckedin again by the need to moan and talk obsessively about HArry Potter!!

divastrop · 17/06/2007 17:54

callie-i just give Elsie more milk when she asks for it if shes only had 3/4oz of her last feed.i tend to make up just 4oz at a time though when shes being like that,to save wasting milk.
she won't drink water either.i give calpol/nurofen for teething when it gets really bad,at one point poor dd2 was having some every night as well as calgel and teething powders(they are very good).i think the nurofen works better than the calpol.

Elsie keeps holding her ear when shes feeding,so im wondering if it hurting.

i have been to the play area today,as well as popping in the pub where dp and i want to have our reception,to find out the cost.i go totally insane if i stay in the house.i dont htink ive stayed in for a whole day in the last 3 years

i(rather nervously)showed dp the dress on that site last night.i wouldnt feel happy wearing a dress that he hadnt given his approval to,just in case he made a comment on the day(i would end up in floods of tears and getting married in jeans).anyway,he thinks its lovely, and he has seen a shirt on that site that he wants to get.
mossy-you should be on comission!

i can hear dd2 saying 'i want bath bath' so i better go.hope everbody's had a good weekend.

kiwibella · 17/06/2007 18:14

Hi everyone

well we had our bookclub here so I'm pissed

DH has spent the last three days sanding the ground floor of the house so it looks lovely - like a whole new house for father's day!!

Diva - I agree nurofen is far better than calpol. I asked DS1 today which was better (he has a sore throat) and he said nurofen in better

have you posted a link to the dress you've chosen? Did I miss it?

CallieNewMum · 17/06/2007 21:42

Thanks Diva.

Fox, what are you reading in your group?

Callieco · 17/06/2007 21:52

callie - just read Steal me away by Niccolo Ammonati and our new book is Enduring Love, Ian Mckewan sp (which I've read, so that's good as I didn't read the last one)

Shrinkinglily · 18/06/2007 08:24
