March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

well i weighed myself today, have lost another pound which is good,1-2 lb a week is recommended yes?still have the size dilemma though as i know if i lose another 6lb i will need a 10,but what if i order a 10 and dont lose any weight?or worse still, put it on?

that said,i have eaten chip shop chips, pizza, cakes, doughnuts and chocolate in the last week and still lost a lb,so i think my weight is controlled by my hormones rather than what i eat,and i would have to binge on shite all day to put alot of weight back on as im running around like a madwoman most of the time.

arrggghhh,what to do??

TRicky one Diva, I don't know really, but very well done. 5lb to go huh? That's nothing, easy!!!

I'm sort of resigned to not shifting the extra weight until I'm weaning Hasan. I'll keep trying to be healthy and get back to excercising- been off it for a couple of weeks.
I haven't gained weight so maybe I would have lost some if I was making an effort. (she says hopefully)

Last night I still didn't get back to my excercises, instead I listened to (granted, the slightly sleezy) Paul McKenna and visualised myself as slim and fit. Feels good

It's funny, my friend just couldn't bring herself to listen to the cd, she doesn't trust him and didn't want to be 'controlled'
But I find it really helpfull and am going to give it another go.

I need to be brainwashed into positive thinking, I've been feeling bad about myself far too much recently and it just isn't a productive frame of mind to be in.

rosy-i kept finding the thing in the book where he said something about air hostesses kept creeping into my mind when i was listening to the cd,and i couldnt get my head around a sexist man helping me feel better about myself

ok i have just measured myself and have lost another inch off my hips, waist and boobies

havent lost any weight though.

i had resigned myself to getting the size 12 dress as my measurements matched exactly with the size 12 ones on the site..but now i am halfway between a 10 and 12.

however,i should hopefully be seeing the dress in rl on thursday so at least i will know 100% if its what i want, that way i can wait a while before ordering.

Diva that is great progress!

I'm eating loads of chocolate again and not doing my excercises I've back slid
BUT I'm off to Youghal co. cork tomorrow so shall do lots of walks by the sea. Then at the end of August I'm caravaning in Donegal and I always do loads of excercise there...swimming, body boarding and stomping over hills.

Then come september it'll be back to porridge, yogalates and callanetics. And by then I'll be weaning Hasan so feeling generally optomistic.

Whomping I'm ringing you til I get you in!

Aha found this thread again!!

Diva - that's fab news - you are on the right track (the thin track)!!!!

Rosy - step away from the chocolate!!!!

I cannot touch the stuff as I would fall off the wagon if I did!

I've been away for a week and what's a girl to do, with no mumsnet...I was bored anyway I stuffed my face, it was the sea air and on tap curries...sigh, I couldn't help myself (officer).
When I wasn't wolfing down curries I was popping to the spar for cocolate and icecream

excercise -I walked up and down the street a bit on my way to eat

Anyhoo, I've put on a pound, so all is not lost. Next week I'm off to Donegal...going to do LOADS of running and walking and sea swimming then throw myself back at yogalates and callanetics in september.

Yup, I'm going to be really slim verrry soon....

just did callanetics again - ow

Report
Rosylily · 20/08/2007 09:32

Well I shall be stomping over hills, swimming in the sea and bodyboarding for the next 11 days. Much more fun than torturous callanetics that's for sure

I hope I lose a bit of weight and come back with new enthusiasm and energy for being fit and getting slim! Yeehah....bounces heavily off into the distance farting and making the ground shake.....

Rosy

I was at Blockbusters yesterday and bought a bag of popcorn (low cal) so the guy says to me "If you buy a bag of popcorn, you get a tub of Ice Cream for £1.40, instead of £4.20!"

Well, it would have been silly not to take advantage of that offer wouldn't it.

...it was chcolate fudge brownie flavour

Anyway am still at size 12 bottom/14-16 top. Walking 4 miles a day when DH gets home and doing about 4 minutes of tummy callenertics

am returning to work in 4 weeks so I must try and walk it rather than drive. Am a bit worried about all that sitting about on my arse all day in the office. Its very hard to be fit when you have such a sedentary day

Report
spongecake · 25/08/2007 22:04

hi there- i binned callanetics after my wedding but realised this i huge mistake as my tummy is just sort of hanging there. so ate mussels tonight (and bread, yum) and will eat only fish and salad again until back to normal.

oh, and all the scales in france were kg, which i have no clue about, so was v happy to jump on them. age is good

hello all, well once my aupair starts I am going to do the kettlebells. I've got a dvd, like the one piffle has and have 2 bells that i can hardly pick up

Report
divastrop · 26/08/2007 11:42

my weight keeps going up and down-by as much as 5lb-every few days,so i have no idea whats going on.i cant stop eating either-i think its the new tablets.plus ive had to abandon my excersise for the past 2 days as i have injured my neck

at one point on the weight rollercoaster i was down to 10.7-only 3lbs off my target.but then i put 4lb back on in a day.

it doesnt help that i cant go to the fecking toilet(side effect of the ad's),am having to take lactulose again which makes me fart so dp doesnt want to come anywhere near me,so thats another form of excersise out the window!

Report
kittywits · 26/08/2007 23:37

Diva, it's most likely water retention. There can't be any other explanation

Report
foxcub · 27/08/2007 11:49

Oh dear poor you Diva - and poor Dp with the farting !!

Kitty let us know how the kettleballs are!

Well, I did lots of swimming in the sea...love, love, love it.- and my big milky boobs kept popping out of my inadequate swimsuit! (gave my sis an eyefull ), not much walking and no bodyboarding and no rumpypumpy I stuffed my face because the sea air gives me an appetite!

So, I weigh the same still but i feel quite good and still full of good intentions.

Diva I think it's time for you to give up coffee and have you tried drinking aloe vera? Still you're 2 stone lighter than I am!

Fox I want to be size 12!

Kitty kettleballs sounds far too much like hard work!

Sponge I'm going to try and eat mostly fish and salad too!
