March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

No bread issues here
Biscuits and cake are my downfall
Just went through what I ate today with DH - he was suitably shocked
I will aim to do better tomorrow

I did manage to listen to the Paul McKenna CD today

I love bread and don't think I can bear to live without it. What do you eat for lunch, you non breaders?

I have muesli for breakfast which I make the night before and keep in the fridge. Oats, bran, 2 grated apples, a fig, a prune, an apricot and some red milk. Helps to keep me going. Before I began fatfighters I would eat all that and then have a choc digestive every time I went into the kitchen. Was getting through about a packet every 2 days. Oh dear. Now I buy a packet of choc wafers from the portuguese cafe and that's the lot for the week. I figure wafer biscuits are mostly air so they can't be too bad.

I have wine pretty much every night - agree with its medicinal quality. No spirits here now for 3 years as I haev either been pg or breastfeeding but lots of slimline tonic in the evening. Feels like a proper drink which diet coke or tea does not.

Does everyone manage 5 a day? I am trying hard with lots of berries, tomatoes etc etc but not always successful.

Now, what shall I eat tomorrow ?

Ooh everyone is being very virtuous! I had my porridge this morning...two bowls, boy, I can eat! I had it with syrup and semi-skimmed milk.
I have resisted chocolate so far, though I think a little good quality chocolate is good for you....A friend of mine- total chocoholic -was doing weightwatchers and she used to carry a chocolate around in her handbag and when she had a craving she would sniff it and put it back in her bag

Hi

I have oatcakes and ryvita instead of bread for lunch or a teeny bit of pasta - or gnocchi

kitty - i think the drugs got rid of the candida but apparently bread craving is a sign your body is fighting candida, as the bread feeds it

oh he's yowling again....

I will not be sniffing chocolate.

I can't stop eating malt loaf... apparantly it's low in fat but if you eat a whole loaf I think that becomes irrelevant.

Trying to do my callanetics this morning but Sam is refusing to sleep.

If i dont have bread for lunch I make a huge bowl of salad with couscous, cheese, coleslaw, ham - anything i can fit in my mouth basically!

fox-i didnt know that about bread.i often suffer from thrush(down 'there').i think i will have to try some oatcakes,if i find out what they are

i had a yoghurt for brekkie(and half a slice of ds2's toast)..i nibbled a ready made pancake from the fridge whilst getting the milk out...thats all ive eaten sofar.i find that once ive eaten in the morning thats it,i just feel hungry all day,but if i avaoid eating then i go past hungry and can do without anything till teatime.very unhealthy i know, but the one meal a day diet is the only way ive ever lost weight in the past.

i dont do any structured excersise as such, but i do loads of walking with the double buggy.

I had one slice of toast today.

I have been craving bread so badly but have not given in and I must say that I feel less heavy, if that makes sense.
I actually had NO WINE last night, just cadbury's highlights. This morning I woke up feeling really hungover. If that's going to be the case then I'm going to carry on drinking

kitty when I was on my candida free diet, I had no sugar, alcohol or wheat and I had the most awful withdrawal symptoms - terribel headaches.

When I started eating chocolate again I felt so much better for it!

Today I've had:

Brekkie:
porridge with half a spoon of sugar
half a bar of green and blacks dark chocolate

Lunch:
Ready washed salad, cucumber, tims, beetroot and 3 large spoonfuls of hummous on it

Naughty time:
3 chocolate hobnobs ...but only 'cos someone brought some round

tea: 4 ryvitas with flora, cheese and cucumber (really wanted a mint choc cornetto but managed to resist)

supper....hmm well who knows but whatever it is will be accompanied by a glass od cava

well done foxy... what colour leotard will you be wearing! You have to have a 1980's Dallas hairstyle to do it and be wearing full make-up throughout... I'm certain that kitty will know what i'm talking about!

I have seen that callanetics thing, and had a go in my youth, doesn't she promise a bottom like a peach or something....or is it just that her bottom looks like a peach that I remember...my bottom is more like a giant pumpkin.

Anyway Fox I think I would expire on your diet!

Today I was very bad, well the porridge was good, though a whole panful may not be ideal. Then I had a wheaten scone, But for lunch I had (but it was forced upon me) chip butties in white bread followed by chocolate
and for dinner I had fresh pineapple and then loads of frozen pizza with loads of salad though. sigh. (looks sheepishly at spare rolls)

I want to go more GI. I want to eat loads of good food, do more excercise and keep my metabolism up and blood sugar level steady.

I have eaten so much yoghurt and fruit compote that I feel sick. I get starving in the middle of the night if I don't stuff my face in the evening This is the real reason I want baby to sleep - more eating time!

Today I had - bowl of cereal with red milk
Banana, apple, yoghurt
Two pieces of toast (finished loaf and no more bread in house) with peanut butter and cheese respectively
Couscous, salad and two lamb chops

One krispy kreme donut
Can of lager
