March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

Foxy, it's hurting super bad. I've been munching on bread today, I couldn't help myself. I was soooo hungry. Had lots of fruit and bread though.

spongecake · 29/06/2007 22:52

haven't been able to do callanetics this week as had a lump out but plan to start next week as soon as stitches out! i managed to get my pre pregnancy jeans on, but my muffin roll (black forest gateaux roll)spills over the top. urggg

am wedding dress shopping next week, so a bit worried as can't stop eating. garlic bread, pasta (don;t even like pasta) anything really.

am v impressed with the do-ers of super callanetics! and being able to squash the excercises down to a shorter time

divastrop · 30/06/2007 11:55

i have only started to lose weight slowly, now my milk has finally dried up.i think the mireana coil f**d up my hormones fir me to be producing milk for that long.i feel like im slowly getting back to normal now.

i got the jeans on this morning, but with alot of effort and a huge spare tyre.they are a size 12.

actually,i dont know how you lot can even contemplate dieting while bf,i know i only bf ds1 for 6 weeks but i remember feeling hungrier than i did during pregnancy,i mean,i felt like i hadnt eaten in days when it had only been 2 hours.and i constantly craved cakes and chocolate.you must all have iron willpower

foxcub · 01/07/2007 09:13

Kitty - bread may well be a pain killer !!1

Sponge - the tummy callanetics are making major inroads into my fat roly poly tummy now. The muscles ate the bottom of my tum are getting much firmer - I can really feel and see the difference

My size 14 trousers are all falling off me now!!! I think that giving up that 900 cals of chocolate every day and continuing the excercise are having a major effect

I can now fit into clothes I haven't been able to wear for 7 years [skinny person emoticon]

Its amazing. I wake up each morning and my first thoughts are:

"Fuck is it that time already?", followed by: "Fuck work, Fuck work, Fuck work and all male bosses!!!", swiflty followed by: "But, hey, I'm thinner - so who cares?! "

foxcub · 01/07/2007 09:14

"the muscles AT the bottom of my tum" not "the muscles ate the bottom of my tum"!!!

TransfiguratingLily · 01/07/2007 10:37

Fox the muscles did eat the bottom of you tum...they used it up! well done

TransfiguratingLily · 01/07/2007 10:38

oops, your tum

muppethasakitten · 01/07/2007 17:16

I wonder what callan pinkney looks like now...

foxcub · 01/07/2007 18:42

She probably has the face of a 90 year old on the body of a 15 year old gymnast!

kittywits · 01/07/2007 21:09

Actually the super callanetics is good because it has mostly the same exercises as the normal one just a few extras thrown in (that I can't do ), but it whizzes through them quickly without the preamble and that is what I like

foxcub · 01/07/2007 21:50

Kitty, you mean it has no:

"stretch two inches further than you think you can"

"Come out of it in triple slow motion"?

divastrop · 01/07/2007 22:43

well i shall no doubt be returning from my mothers having eaten my own bodyweight in cakes and chocolate as i cant smoke.i have bought some nicotine gum though

kittywits · 01/07/2007 22:45

can't you smoke outside?

eidsvold · 02/07/2007 07:33

woo hoo - went off to the gym for re-assessment and they added the 8 months since I have been onto my membership.

THe other good bit - since I weighed myself not long after dd1 was born and now I have lost about 13lbs. happy with that but have tonnes of weight to go.

so have joined you lot now I am actually doing something about my lardy bum!!

TransfiguratingLily · 02/07/2007 08:04

Brilliant Eidsvold! That is great about the gym. And 13lbs brilliant.
Now can you get Callanetics and a pink lycra bodysuit over there?

I'm hoping mine will arrive today in the post. I've done no yogalates for 4 days..I've been so lethargic. Today my work out is going to be tackling the house which has deteriorated badly.

Diva, could you bring some fruit with you/make some popcorn/oatcakes? Although saying that, maybe just give yourself a few days off. It'll be a stressfull few days.

eidsvold · 02/07/2007 08:38

shudders at the image of herself in a pink lycra bodysuit!!

foxcub · 02/07/2007 08:48

Eids - 13lbs is amazing - well done!!!!

Tranny - we're very untidy at the best of times but it just gets out of control. I feel awful when the house is a real tip - it makes me feel as though I can't cope! Good luck with the tidyting.

While the kids are out today am going to do a purge of their toys [evil snigger]

DollyPopsOut · 02/07/2007 09:13

13lb is great, Eids. Well done.

Still lardy here. Can't settle to it at the moment. Need some inspiration. Perhaps a callanetics DVD would do the trick....

Didn't eat too badly over weekend but had a fair amount of wine yest. May give WW a miss this week as can't face paying a fiver to see I've put on weight.

Not eaten breakfast yet so will go and raid cupbpard for somethingh light and healthy.

BTW Rosy, I too am holding onto the weight while BF. With DD1, it seemed to go without m uch effort, but now am not eating ( or drinking ) THAT much and am still tubby. Oh well, plenty of time to get rid of it I suppose....

OP posts:
eidsvold · 02/07/2007 11:19

not for anything I have done - more for the breastfeeding I think.

I know with dd2 the weight did not drop off with breastfeeding.

muppethasakitten · 02/07/2007 13:26

kitty - does super callanetics have specific exercises for thunder thighs or is it more of those pelvic scoops etc?

kittywits · 02/07/2007 14:58

Muppet it has all the normal ones, but oftetn done for longer counts and has 4 extra bum/thigh ones. They are variations on the original ones, first kneeling then standing. I haven't got all the way to the end of the tape yet as my arms and legs fell off after the 6th bum exercise

foxcub · 02/07/2007 17:57

I thought the bum excercises on the orig video looked scary enough!!

TransfiguratingLily · 02/07/2007 18:32

Mine hasn't arrived yet but I'm starting to feel nervous already!

foxcub · 02/07/2007 22:01

You'll love it! I actually look forward to doing them - I love all the strecthing which eases the tense muscles etc
