March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

Callie you look gorgeous on youtube! I wish I looked that good.

I have hardly budged from mumsnet all day, I'm a disgrace. I couldn't be arsed to do any excercise and for tea I totally lost the plot and ate chocolate

And what's even worse, I didn't even like it it was far too sweet, yuch.

I think I have a whip somewhere...must find it and beat myself thoroughly....

muppethasakitten · 13/07/2007 08:04

Callanetics today for sure!

Callie you should do callanetics because then you can call it callienetics.

foxcub · 13/07/2007 16:33

Callie you look a bit like Kate Middleton

Haven't done my "callies" for 2 days now

muppethasakitten · 13/07/2007 16:52

Samuel just gone to sleep...

... off to do callies - got to catch up with your toning foxy!

DollyPopsOut · 13/07/2007 16:53

Just eaten a load of biscuits.

Rosy, when I read your post about the whip, I immediately thought "walnut". Shows you why I am in this lardy mess, eh?

Only an hour til drinks time. Have been off sauce all week and am gagging for a sherry

I've just had a huge spritzer!

Callieco · 13/07/2007 18:19

Foxy/Diva, don't need to lose weight, am pre-preg weight bar a pound or two but just want to get a bit of aerobic exercise and stretches to tone up a bit. I could do yoga in the house - I've been to it on and off for years so I know enough postures to do, it's just that getting started thing and I generally prefer classes. I used to do a dance class before DS was born so maybe I need to convince DP of the need for him to feed and put DS to bed on a Friday evening when the class is on. Bad day for it unfortunately!

Thank you for kind comments btw .

What's the deal with callanetics. Is it like small but sustained hold movements or am I mixing it up with something else?

kittywits · 13/07/2007 20:37

I did some super callies yesterday. My sad old legs were shaking so much after 2 bum exercises I HAD to walk off and feed my face .
Right off to drink beer now!

muppethasakitten · 13/07/2007 22:08

kitty that sounds super callie frajilisticexpialidocious

divastrop · 13/07/2007 22:15

i want my dvd back,i had started looking forward to doing it.my tummy hurts and so do my neck and shoulders,so i must have been doing the yoga wrong.i didnt like it anyway.

foxcub · 13/07/2007 23:14

I don't have the patience for yoga Diva. Which excercise DVD do you have?

Muppet

spongecake · 13/07/2007 23:36

i think i am doing something wrong. i only have one little baby to look after and somehow i don;t have time to do my callanetics anymore. the day kind of runs away, then i eat, and can't do bendy stuff as i'll be sick..

tips pls ladies

TransfiguratingLily · 14/07/2007 08:32

I'm a total disaster! I ate loads more chocolate yesterday again (even though I don't like it anymore)
I've done no excercise, I feel ill...actually I am ill, got sore throat, headache...stressed out, running around like a headless chicken and need to settle down but I can't....Stuff it!

divastrop · 14/07/2007 12:14

lily-give yourself a break!you are having a very stressful time atm.

sponge-i have no idea,i never used to find time to excersise when i had just ds1.i could barely find time to go to the toilet.

i do my excersise when the lo's have gone to bed, usually by 7.30,and dd1 joins in with me.

fox-it was the one with janice battersby off corrie.i think i will stick with the yoga ab workout as it seems to have done something.

TransfiguratingLily · 16/07/2007 09:15

Well I am off my regime at the moment but keen to get back to it once I'm able.

Basically since I started trying to lose the weight I've lost half a stone. Very slow! And I could easily pop half a stone back on if I wasn't carefull. It is frustrating. I'm taking a rest and when I get better I'm turning it up a gear. I'm going to try running- something aerobic to try and burn up more, I need to keep at the yoga and callanetics too.
And stay off the chocolate, horrible chocolate.

I want to be my old slim self again [impatient emoticon], I don't feel right like this! fume.

Sponge I looked up rainbow shoes on ebay and they all look really glam! I wonder what my sister plans to wear on her feet...the thing with her wedding is we are all trekking up to a cavey/waterfally place carrying floweres and candles for the hippiest wedding ever Might need wellies! Or big clumpy trainers!

muppethasakitten · 16/07/2007 12:24

tranny - your sisters wedding sounds great - are any of your lo's bridesmaids/pageboys?

TransfiguratingLily · 17/07/2007 19:17

No bridesmaids or pageboys Muppet, nothing that traditional. Everyone who is able is going rafting down some mad river afterwards, then barbeque and ceili in the evening.

Well the healthy wagon is rumbling on down the road and I am left behind trying to crawl out of a puddle of gooey chocolate.

divastrop · 17/07/2007 20:44

i am also getting frustrated as i really want to order my dress soon so i can try it on and if it doesnt suit me,have enough time to find an alternative.so basically ive got,at best, another month to lose the rest of the weight.as i ahve been the same weight for the last 2 weeks(apart from going up 2 or 3lb with water retention every few days)i cant see it happening.

i want to feel like 'me' again,at the moment i feel like a fat frump, and i want to be able to feel good about myself on my wedding day

foxcub · 17/07/2007 21:33

That wedding sounds fabulous tranny

Well I'm officially a size 12 today. Went to Boden shop and bought size 12 skirt and pedal pushers in the sale. This is the thinnest I've been for 8 years!!!

I've got slight aneorexic tendancies.

Huge bowl of porridge for brekkie (essential for full tummy and lots of energy)
teeny lunch
Big supper at about 8pm but incl lots of leaves

TBH I look great but feel like shite as I'm so stressed atm think I am living on my nerves

Been a bit sloppy re. callenetics and down to 5 mins of pure tummies with little warm up, but still doing lots of walking

spongecake · 17/07/2007 21:57

have lost plot on exercise and feel lifting baby up and down excercise enough.

diva, am with you on wanting to look and feel great on wedding day. i feel v v scruffy and all wrong somehow. hope it will pass, getting hair cut next week in attempt to look more chic (hahahahha)

TransfiguratingLily · 18/07/2007 08:18

Well done Fox, you can probably start to relax now. As long as you stick to the calories you need for the day you'll not put weight on.
I can stay the same weight ok. But shifting it requires burning up more than I take in of a day and I find that hard.
I think I'm feeling discouraged and hopeless, I need a confidence boost.

And guess what? with good timing my friend just gave me back 'how to change your life in seven days book and cd,' So I'm going to use it to help me get back on track

foxcub · 18/07/2007 10:17

Lily you have loads on your plate at the moment. Just as long as most of it is not made of chocolate!

TransfiguratingLily · 18/07/2007 10:26

Thank goodness it's not alcohol I have a problem with is all I can say. I would be a hopelees alcoholic, little bit of stress and I'd be lying in a drunken heap.
I maybe slightly too well padded but at least I can still look after the children (just about )phew.

muppethasakitten · 19/07/2007 20:26

not much chat on this thread now! are we all getting to thin or something?????????
