March 2007 - breakaway thread for lardy ladies

DollyPopsOut · 16/05/2007 16:58

Thought I would start a separate thread for those of us on the March thread who are trying to lose weight etc so we can support each other without troubling the others with our food talk etc.

I'll start - have lost 8 1/2 lbs through Weightwatchers since DD2 born, with about another 2 stone to go.

Have done OK today, although I had 2 biscuits at a friend's house this morning. Not enough exercise either.

By the way, anyone from other months / years etc most welcome to join in

Let's see if we can help each other back to our former selves (or thinner in my case - my former self has ranged from a 12 to a large 16 over the years and I am aiming for the lower end again )

Last night I did the callanetics (though can't do the full numbers at all yet) then I did 2 sections of my yogalates. Doing the callanetics makes me want to do the yogalates afterwards.
Anyway I can feel a big difference in my strength and firmness, though all the fat is sitting there on top of my firm muscles now When oh when will it drop off!(fume)
I am being so good and strong willed staying off the chocolate (halo pings) but it seems futile. Maybe if I was still eating it I would be putting on weight....(tries to see the bright side)

Sponge, I'm sure you will be gorgeous on your wedding.

foxcub · 08/07/2007 16:16

Sponge what is your dress like - well, the two you like?

I may have lost weight but my face looks abouy 100

Tranny - have you tried those Skinny Cow smoothie ice creams? They're only about 90 cals but taste very fattening. There is a mint choc chip one

divastrop · 09/07/2007 14:46

will have to catch up later, but i have lost another 2lbs

i am happy as i am now below 11st for the first time since i was about 14 weeks pregnant, and i only have 9lb left to lose !!!

muppethasakitten · 09/07/2007 19:00

Oh poo... am having such a fat day today...

Can't lose weight... now I know why i don't have scales in the house... weighed myself at my friends again - haven't lost anything. I would love to be under 11 stone diva I am dead on 12 and can't shift it... (I am tall though - but that's just an excuse...)

I hate my thighs... they are industrial...

rant over

TransfiguratingLily · 09/07/2007 21:18

oh are we confessing our weight now! I'd love to be under 11 stone too. 10.6 preferably. That weight suits me, now I am 12lbs 4oz. It's going down really slowly.

What happened to Booboo she's been gone ages. I hope she's okay.

Foxy, must try those skinny cow things. Today I was very strong, everyone was having strawberrys with ben and gerrys fish food or whatever it's called yummy looking chocolate stuff with toffee and chocolate fish in it. but I resisted and had stewed rhubarb and custard

Did a tiny bit of callanetics, then my friend called and we watched it instead and took the piss out of it. (i'm such a rebel- just cuz I can't do them ) She definately had a nose job!

spongecake · 09/07/2007 21:50

decided on a dress-good job i went back as one i tried on-what was i thinking... anyway, i have one now, long, simple, and they are going to fit it to my ginormous boobs. somehow.

have no idea what i weigh as they have been under the stairs in a box since i got prgnt last year. think am 9 stone JOKE prob about 10.5, but used to be 9 and a bit, so.. did callanetics tonight and will step up the walking, ie faster, no ambling along enjoying myself.

can;t stop the square of choc at night, but tell myself i am bf after all.

dp bought me home a cake last night and stood over me whilst i ate it- he wants ds to have really rich milk

kittywits · 09/07/2007 21:57

I have no idea what I weigh. The last time I was weighed was when I had my tripple test at 16 weeks pg.
Yesterday I tried some 'interval training'; I ran at full pelt for 10 secs, power walked for 1 min and walked for 1 min. I did this for 20 mins. It felt ok actually, far better than just jogging. It's supposed to be the best way to burn fat. We'll see!

divastrop · 09/07/2007 23:05

rosy-i have a similar problem.i can feel that my tummy muscles are quite firm under my huge mass of stretch-marked flabby skin

in fact, when i measured my waist earlier i could get the tape to 28 inches if i pulled it tight, but if i do it properly its still 30.

i am only 5'3" but large build,so my 'ideal' weight(for me,not according to some chart)is 10.4 or thereabouts.if i go bellow 10 stone i start to look ill.when i was 9 stone,3 years ago,i looked half dead.

sponge-is there any way you can show us your dress?[nosey cow emoticon]

TransfiguratingLily · 10/07/2007 08:00

Diva when I go below 10 stone my boobs go down to a AA my bones stick out and my Dad starts worrying about me!

sponge your dress sounds sounds really gorgeous. I would love a nosey too. Maybe you can post a picky of your wedding later, I love weddings

TransfiguratingLily · 10/07/2007 08:01

and also it sounds gorgeous

foxcub · 10/07/2007 22:03

Sponge - so you are marrying a Fenchman who brings you home cake and makes you eat it?

have just eaten an entire galia melon and am listening to Jools Holland concert in Kew Gardens (can hear it from my house)

didn't do any callanetics for 3 days as I was knackered and fancied arest, but back into it again today

am worried how I will excerice during summer hols - any ideas anyone? No school walks...

muppethasakitten · 11/07/2007 10:19

Don't ask me foxy I am still having feeling fat days and being morose.

There is NO WAY i will be wearing a bikini this summer

TransfiguratingLily · 11/07/2007 11:20

Well yesterday I did Callanetics and yogalates, then this morning I was feeling slim, had done at least one pound of poos so I weighed myself.....
And I have put on 3 pounds

Callanetics is great but boring and hardwork, so I have to do the yogalates afterwards because I love it.

My body is saying "thankyou, thankyou, thankyou" when I do the yoga positions.
When I do callanetics my body is saying "ow, ow, ow"

kittywits · 11/07/2007 11:47

Tranny callanetics does get easier.

DollyPopsOut · 11/07/2007 13:59

Am eating lots of roasted veggies with one cal spray so they are 0 points on teh WW plan. Having lost the plot for a couple of weeks and eaten everything I could find, I am now back on the straight and narrow. Need to do some sit ups or something to sort out my jelly tum but can't be arsed right now. Am deeply impressed by the callanetics girls.

Rosy - know what you mean about fat and thin days. Honestly hon you have a lot on your plate with DH being ill so be kind to yourself .

What can I eat now? There are 2 packs of choc fingers in the kitchen so will have to be strong and resist

Step away from those choccy fingers Dolly!!!

I'm getting lower back ache from callanetics tummy excercises, so suspect I may be doing the wrong. Can really feel it on my tum though Although its still sticky out

I look like a skinny old lady with baggy legs and a pot belly

spongecake · 11/07/2007 21:40

thanks for the nice things you all have said my tummy has popped out! dress is at shop awaiting a fitting, so will post pic after the day

have done callanetics today, and walked MILES (round the shops )

am glad not only one who things callanetics is boring!

am not having my choc tonight, be strong dolly

foxcub · 11/07/2007 21:49

Well [smug emoticon] I walked ten miles today (4 x school run)!!!

I am so exhausted i can hardly brush my teeth

muppethasakitten · 11/07/2007 21:56

Right... I am SO turning over new leaf tomorrow...

...will do callanetics regardless of whether the painter is in the house...

... will power walk with dog!

Am SO fed up with not being able to shift my fat arse and legs.

divastrop · 11/07/2007 22:17

rosy-i have done that a few times, thought 'oooh,i've done loads of wee wees and had a big poo and feel quite slim now, wonder how much weight ive lost' then discover ive gained it

in fact it was like that this morning, when i realised i would have to buy a smaller bra,and also i had to rake out some of my old tops as my post-Elsie size 14 ones were flapping in the wind.then i weighed myself and was 3lb more than monday.just goes to show, weight really doesnt mean much!

somebody has scratched my excersise dvd.it was either dd2(fine,she is a toddler, doesnt know any better)or ds2(nearly 4,should know better, but often doesnt).anyway,it's buggered.i did it the best i could from memory tonight but will have to get something else,as dp said he doesnt care and its not his problem

on a positive note,dd1 said to me yesterday 'you are looking a bit slimmer now'

foxcub · 12/07/2007 20:26

Muppet - I had burly men in the house last week doing our kitchen and found I couldn't do callenetics while they were here.

..well that's my excuse anyway

Callieco · 12/07/2007 22:12

Hello girls, just dropping in to say hello and express my amazement and envy that you, who mostly all have at least three children, are exercising regularly, whereas I, who have one, am doing nothing apart from push the pram - although hoicking DS around has to count. I know my arm muscles exist for the first time in my life anyway.

Any motiviational tips to get me started? I keep thinking, I could go swimming this evening, but that would involve a) hair removal IYKWIM, b) finding my swimming costume and c) not being a lazy b**ch.

divastrop · 12/07/2007 22:19

callie-have you put on weight since you had Jordi ?its just that you look very slim in your photos.

as i said to mossy a while ago on the post-natal thread, the more children you have, the easier it is to ignore them and get on with stuff

i got a yoga-workout dvd today.the warm-up section was pretty ok,but i tried to do the ab workout and the woman was telling me to use muscles that i'm pretty sure dont exist.well, they dont on my body.

foxcub · 12/07/2007 22:23

LOL Diva!

Callie I think you need a goal (like Diva and Sponge have their weddings) - do you have any events coming up that you want to lose weight for?

If not, just walk to get the baby to sleep?
