twas me

I love making them. I always cheat and buy ready made cakes which I cut up. It's the icing and decorating that I enjoy doing.

Oooooh!! Clever lady!

asur · 27/09/2007 19:17

Thanks for all the kind words from you all

DS1 is teething just now, he's had his 8 front ones for a while but in the last week it seems that ALL his other teeth are coming through. He's been a little grumpy but pretty good considering how sore it must be - DH moans for hours if he's just bit his tongue!

We're going to Turkey next week for a week, should be good once we're there but I'm dreading the travelling bit, and the packing, and the unpacking... LOL

goodcatholicgirl · 04/10/2007 09:24

Hi all, It's luckymummy with a new nickname.
Sophie is doing really well, an absolute dream of a child. Got a cold at the mo, but generally she's good. Walking everywhere, starting to talk etc.

Got some news too, I'm 9 weeks pregnant. Due 5th May (cos May babies are just so fab).

Waited a while to post it as felt bad for Asur. I hope things are OK with you Asur. I cannot imagine what you have had to go through .

Anyway, hope you are all well. Funny how we all post much less now are lo's are older and we are all back at work etc!!

LOL to you all

Luckymummy aka goodcatholicgirl!!!

CindersNeedsHelp · 05/10/2007 08:03

Congratulations GCG (goodcatholicgirl).

Name change here too ? I was SAHMof1. Am still a SAHM, but am trying to get house sorted, hence new name!

I?ve noticed we don?t often post here any more too! All too busy I guess!

hockeypuck · 05/10/2007 08:45

Congratulations GCG/LM/Whatever you're called now!! That's nice having another one 2 years later than the first and at the same time of year - those clothes might fit the babies second time around which makes it easier. Wishing you a great pregnancy and lots of rest!

BroomieMomInMurder · 05/10/2007 21:05

Congrats GCG!

asur · 07/10/2007 14:35

Congrats GCG/LM - am a bit but really happy for you Just logged on quickly before we head off on holiday - nice to read good news before we go

Have seen good news on other threads too... Won't mention name as she maybe doesn't want to say just now but congrats anyway (you know who you are! )

Oh, quick question - those who have boys, do you/your DP mind them playing with buggies/prams?! DS1 has started playing with his cousin's buggy whenever he gets a chance but DH tries to stop him saying it'll make him gay I personally think it's cute, just wondered your opinions on it..

louismummy · 07/10/2007 18:22

both my ds's love prams to paush. dh not bothered by it. JUst get one for him he'll love it.

CindersNeedsHelp · 08/10/2007 08:28

DH suggested we buy a toy buggy for DS for xmas as he loves playing with them at playgroup. MIL said ?oh I think it?s nice that you want DS to play with girls toys? and DH said ?it?s not a girls toy, he sees me pushing his buggy, so how is it any different?. So hooray for my DH!

CindersNeedsHelp · 08/10/2007 08:31

Oh, and does your DH push your buggy/pram? If so, point out that DS only wants to copy daddy! If not, say other men are more than happy to push trolleys at supermarkets and prams round town, so there is no gender stereotyping with buggys. Plus you can get a blue stroller from ELC if you want to.

goodcatholicgirl · 10/10/2007 16:43

I agree with cinders. Loads of men push buggies nowadays, it's no longer really seen as a 'lady thing'.

Incidentally, my brother is gay, and I'm sure he would say it really has very little if anything to do with what toys you play with as a child. He was into very boyish toys, trainset, aeroplanes etc.

My dd loves her buggy, apparently they walk further with one too.

tron · 11/10/2007 11:25

my ds has always loved so called 'girls toys'/ He has a pram and a microwave and a washing machine and a dyson. I get dh to do house work so why shouldn't ds pretend to do it. When I was in the club with dd he even had a toy car seat which i had to strap into the back of the car with a doll in it!!!! It was blue though

Congrats GCG - really pleased for you. I'd love another but DH is dead set against it ggggrrrrr

WinkyGirl · 13/10/2007 20:07

Hi Everyone. Time to fess up, I am 17 weeks pregnant (Thanks for the congrats Asur I hope you have a good holiday! Oh and I hope it was me you meant?!) And congrats to GoodCatholicGirl hope things are going well.

louismummy · 13/10/2007 20:10

Hope all is well. ds2 is FULL of cold. hasn't slept for 3 nights not eating ect so we all feel very happy in this house hope fully better for monday, as i'm working. stil deciding whether to go for 3??? nights like this i think no. but i want a little baby..... hmmm

goodcatholicgirl · 14/10/2007 20:53

congrats winkygirl. I thought I saw your name on another thread (pg after mc thread??) I was cheeky and went under a new nickname. Silly really, I was so worried about people in RL finding out, I think I took it a bit far!!!!! Anyway, I quite like being a GCG! (was luckymummy. Still am a lucky mummy BTW!)

I am 11 weeks tomoz. Still feeling quite nauseous, all good signs hopefully. Got my scan Thursday.

Sophie is just so cute at the mo. She is learning her animals cos someone bought her a Noah's Ark. She does a cute but v loud 'roar' for a lion, a donkey, pig, cow, dog noise. She also loves spinning around in a circle and making herself dizzy then falling over!

Had some v sad news last week. My aunty died very unexpectedly. She was only 61. Unfortunately my cousin died of Leukaemia 3 years ago so my poor uncle and cousins have lost their son/wife and brother/mother very close together.I feel V sad .
Hopefully my new baby news might bring some new hope and happiness to my daddy who has lost his only sister.

Take care all

BroomieMomInMurder · 15/10/2007 17:30

Fab new WinkyGirl, congrats!! I was wondering who else might be pg! It will never be me again though LOL

asur · 15/10/2007 18:34

Hi all. Back from holiday - so glad to be home but have tonnes of washing and typically it's raining so I can't hang it out!

WinkyGirl yes it was you that I meant, congrats

Good to hear about all the other boys liking prams. Think I will just get him one then DH will have to just deal with it. Ironically, DH is a SAHD so he pushing the pram most of the time! Men are strange!

I went to work today to let them know I'm going back - have to give 8 weeks notice which means I have 8 weeks left of maternity leave so will be making the most of my time with DS, will miss him lots. they change so quickly.

goodcatholicgirl · 18/10/2007 16:10

Just had 12 week scan. All well. Due 2nd May.

hockeypuck · 18/10/2007 17:01

Congratulations GCG. Another May baby! Glad scan went well, hope you keep well this pregnancy, make sure you sit down every now and then, pretty hard with an 18 month old too hey?

Theo is nearly walking! He's finally cruising around now and will stand up without holding on, but just doesn't want to take that big step yet! It's earlier than the physio suggested he might walk but he's doing well. He's talking a lot to make up for it. A couple of 3 word sentences now like "look mummy doggy!" and "more sweets!". So I guess all these many many months just sitting around and not walking have helped him focus on language at least!

OP posts:
goodcatholicgirl · 19/10/2007 09:50

hockeypuck - that's great news about Theo! Well done him! Really good on the talking too. I think you are right in that some lo's do things earlier than others and other things slower. It sounds fab that he is able to string 3 words together...that's v early for that I think so well done Theo!!

Sophie is trying a few words too. She pointed at my apple on the table this week and said "AA-BLE". I was soooooooooooo proud!!! My friend looked after her yesterday when I had my scan, she has a dd called Alannah, and when we got back Sophie was saying 'Lana'!! I just love it. It's such a fabulous age isn't it?! Everyday is such a pleasure to watch them develop more.

Hope you are keeping well winkygirl, what is your EDD?

goodcatholicgirl · 19/10/2007 09:54

Don't think I made myself very clear then, about lo's developing. I mean, for instance, Sophie got loads of hair quite early but no teeth until 9 mths, whereas my friend's lo had no hair and a mouth full of teeth quite early! I suppose I mean, they always excel at something or other (in Sophie's case growing hair......just like her mummy....I spend a fortune at the waxing salon )

plama · 19/10/2007 11:18

Congrats to WINKY and GCG on your news. Fantastic! Try and look after yourselves - but hard with a toddler.
Glad to hear all the other little ones are doing well. DD2 is good on her feet now and has just got her 2nd pair of shoes - she'd gone up a whole size in 8 weeks - Help!!. Still I've kept wellies and slippers from DD1 so that saves a bit. DD2 is looking nice in DD1's old clothes. I feel justified now (sort of) in buying some fancy stuff for DD1 as at least it's been used twice.

We're meant to be off to Center Parcs on Monday for half term. DD1 has a sickness bug today and is off school. I just hope she doesn't spread it round all of us. I stupidly didn't get holiday insurance as its only in UK, so if we have to cancel, we've lost hundreds of pounds. Fingers crossed she gets better soon and keeps it to herself.

goodcatholicgirl · 20/10/2007 08:57

plama- hope dd1 gets better and you have a fab week in CP's!

BroomieMomInMurder · 21/10/2007 21:00

Hurray for Theo!! I bet your sooo pleased Hockey! I did smile at the 'more sweets'! He's a clever boy!
Dylan is coming along nicely with his chatting too If i point to my nose and say 'whats that' he'll say nose, same with eyes, mouth and ears! He's still got an obsession with the vacuum cleaner, but runs away if i even think about getting it out!! I love this age so much!
