Hi all

Well, Vinorouge and I had a lovely day (well, I certainly did anyway). Picnic down at the park and a beer after. Weather stayed warm and dry, and the lo's were lovely. As always! Vino's lo was awake this time and it was fun seeing them interact. They were almost holding hands by the end of the day...awww...how sweet! Will upload a couple of photos later.

EAH - did you go over to see mum of devils spawn Dennis the Menace pest?

Lizz - adding dried fruit and seeds to flapjack surely makes them very healthy. At least two portions of fruit per slice surely . My lo is too lazy/laid back to roll over, but she can now lift her head clear of the mat during tummy time for longer than one second. Hurrah!!

PCF - I'm a bit like you with birthdays. I think they should be special and people should remember them (mine's 12 Jan btw if you all want to put it in your diary). Sometimes though (particularly if you're near Xmas / Bank Holidays) you need to give your friends gentle reminders . Good luck with WW tonight!

Dragon - can't wait to get round to your place Is it erected yet? Can you get it up easily?

UD - hope your DH is better this evening. things are shitty for you atm. I hope he's at the very least appreciative of everything you do or he might find his loads of washing still to be done and lasagne portion passed to me. Nom nom. Even I appreciate your cooking. And Lizz's. And EAH if she'd ever get round to sedning me a brownie.

Wilkie (are you wet?) - (btw I meant that in a non-personal way referring to my drooling. Just in case you thought...oh..never mind...) pmsl at your work colleague. She sounds lovely!!

Canmummy / LL please stop talking about food...you'll set the tap off again..

Wilkie · 09/05/2007 19:32

Are you sure it's your mouth drpping RGee???? [Ew emoticon] It's very gooey

RGee · 09/05/2007 19:33

Just added piccy from today of Vinorouge and RGee lo's.

And despite the talk of food on the thread, forgot to put our tea in the oven as was too busy catching up here, so will not be eating until much later!!

RGee · 09/05/2007 19:34

Wilkie I don't know what you mean

hattie2 · 09/05/2007 19:35

Hey Galmum, I'm from the same side of Nottm as you then - was born in Keyworth, Mum still lives near there.

Wilkie - I soooo wish you had used your cake reply to that cow at your work!

ellieandhattie · 09/05/2007 19:35

Had a fab day here - went to photo shoot this morning (went past 'boys' house and his mum was in but i didnt have time to stop so thought I'd do it on way home) Met my brother and his girlfriend and her little boy there and the studio was great it was £10 for the sitting but we had the studio and a photographer and assistant for an hour. Big white studio with slope/boxes etc so loads of photos of Ellie running around playing and with her and Harvey (brothers g/f son) chasing and kissing. She took some of Hattie on her own and some of me holding Hattie and looking back over my shoulder plus some cutie ones of her laying on big fur rug with just a nappy. Got a few of the girls together but Ellie didnt want to hold Hattie and Harvey is scared of he just points and says 'baby'. Me and brothers g/f going back on Saturday to view them as over 150 photos and Ellie is going to kids club cinema with Chris so relative peace to concentrate. I know I'll spend a fortune but I bet they'll be fab photos and they can touch up any imperfections/change colours etc.

Stopped at 'boys' house on way home but the Mum had gone out (car was gone) and didnt have the nerve to knock in case he wasnt at school. Tried to find their number in book but must be ex directory. Got home (brother etc all coming round) and police come round to ask if we'd made our mind up I explained we were unsure as although we thought it was a good idea to press charges DH had said to the parents if we got the bike back he woldnt take it any further. Policeman is going to speak to parents to find out whether they are at the point wher they want something done and if so we will press charges to try and make him understand that theft is theft and is not on. Police coming back round tomorrow night to let us know either way. Anyway had great afternoon Ellie loved having Harvey here to play and was teaching him to say 'ta' and to play ball and he actually touched Hattie very gently and loved it when I said 'good boy' so did it about 100 times Brothers g/f is looking to move down here (she currently lives in London) so shes looking to rent a 2 bed flat and get a transfer for her job (works for ambulace service) and Harvey into local nursery will be great if she does as shes really nice and they seem really well suited. Said I'd introduce her to some friends who have kids her age so Harvey will have some little friends so fingers crossed.

Anyway after that epic post I am not going to do personals as well

vinorouge · 09/05/2007 20:21

Yes Rgee I had a lovely day!! Thanks for the yummy picnic and the trip down memory lane....(I used to live near where Rgee does now so we had to walk past the flat I rented)
LO's were soooo cute together even if mine did injure one of my nipples during a rather vicious feed whilst I enjoyed the sunshine and view over the lake....she must learn about mum needing relaxation! She may well be getting a bottle sooner than planned if that continues.

Swimming tomorrow for us then going to parents for day on Friday, visiting IL's on Sat then Sunday day at home as family phew.

Like the sound of your pics EAH. I am in process of uploading loads of pics to photobox ready to print so I will be like Rgee and on a photo sorting out mission soon.

laughalot · 09/05/2007 20:36

Yep wilks centre parcs is right on my doorstep

Dragonhart · 09/05/2007 20:51

Well, DH has 'decided' that we should wait for the den so there will be no errections or getting anything 'up' in the Dragon house.

You will all have to wait to have a go on the slide!

Went to have Ruth weighed today and I was really worried as she was only 11lbs9 at 17 weeks. Means she has dropped below the 9th centile even more now. Spoke to the HV and she suggested I should wean her but I really want to wait til 6 months like I did with Luke. She told me to come back in 4 weeks and see what she weighed then.

The thing is, she is only having 4 feeds a day, every 4 hours in the day. She just isnt hungry. She sleeps well at night so I am sure she is getting enough for her. Really dont know what to do. There is no 'problem' really. I suppose I just need to stop getting hung up on weight. All very worrying.

Also, just noticed that Ruth's feet roll out and I have to push them to get them straight. Asked HV and she said she didnt think it was club foot and that it may be a tendon or something . Might take her to the docs just to make sure. Prob cant do anything til she starts to walk though.

On a brighter note, Luke was a little angel today. He is sooo cute at tea time as he has been really tired the last few nights and as he eats his dinner, he is falling asleep. Literally eating in his sleep! Nothing will stop that boy!

EAH, Glad preschool went better yesterday. I would def report it to the police as if he is stealing now, who knows what he will be doing if he is left to think that is ok.

Shop- Hope you are feeling ok today. Sounds very painful.

Laughalot, you must be knackered. Ruth has suddenly become very windy and I have found that after she burps on my shoulder afew times, if I lie her down on my knees facing me and bycycle her legs she does some massive farts and burps and just seems to relax. I have also started doing it when I change her nappy, and she does more trumps and has a massive smile on her face. She has been much less grizzly though the day so might help?

Pink, Glad you had a nice day with family. I am terrible at remembering bdays, so if your friends are anything like me, then they still love you loads, but have a brain like a seive!

Lizz- When LUke started to roll over, we spent ages in the day rolling him over back onto his back to teach him how to do it. Only took afew days after he could roll onto his front.

Rgee/Vino - Gorgeous pics. Ruth has not played with anyone else yet. She only has eyes for Luke when we go out, but we are going to a friend of ours' ds's bday this weekend so maybe an opportunity there!

Lizzzombie · 10/05/2007 08:30

Wilkie · 10/05/2007 08:53

I'm here for 5 seconds before I MUST go and tidy up before my mum arrives. It is 3rd set of jabs day today and I am bloody dreading it

Gonna go to clinic beforehand and have him weighed. I'm guessing at 15lb 2oz.

Does anyone know where I can get a mouli from??? It is a hand turned grinder for baby foods (good for things with tough skins such as corn, peas etc). Annabel Karmel recommends one for some of her recipes but I can't find one in the shops.

Wilkie, I just used a hand blender for Luke and it worked fine. Also means it is useful after too. Good luck with th jabs.

Pink well done on the weight but poor M. Glad he is ok today.

Glad you had an ok night laughalot. How is you friend in hospital?

Off to buy Luke a reward for being so good in his big boy bed the last few nights this afternoon. Mum is taking me shopping so might look for myself too and she can push the buggy
(which she loves!)

katwith3kittens · 10/05/2007 11:48

I've got a mouli, I bought it about 10 years ago, but I dont remember paying £20 for it, that seems a bit pricey. TBH a good blender will do and is better value in the long run. A mouli works by squashing the food between two surfaces and pushing the mush thro a very fine grate leaving the skin behind. Think I bought it for the mixed dried fruit compote in the Karmel book, that was a big favourite here.

Just searched thro the kitchen cupboards as I was going to offer you mine but its gone all rusty !!!

Lizzzombie · 10/05/2007 12:16

Wilks - Annabel Karmel has her own baby food mixer masher thing available in Boots. Its on their website somewhere...LO has just woken up! soz, can't post a link!

Lizzzombie · 10/05/2007 12:47

here

Lizzzombie · 10/05/2007 13:54

Galmum - know you'll appreciate this and I have to share my news with someone!!! we have just had the building regulations search through from the vendors solicitor for the house we want. It was all hinging on whether the lounge/diner partition wall conformed to building regs or not...and it does, so the mortage will approved, which means the house is ours right???? what happens next?
I am soooooooooooo excited! no more stinking 4th floor pot head flat! woo hoo!

Lizzzombie · 10/05/2007 13:55

touch wood,
turn around & touch the ground,
fingers crossed,
toes crossed....etc etc etc!
