Right ladies this is going to be used as a tip's, questions and answers etc thread for those of us who have had our babies and can't keep up with the chat on the other thread. (my word those ladies can talk)

And of course everyone is welcome to post on here the more advice etc the better.

Sorry if TMI, but is anyone else's bum still sore (it's not actually where I poo from...it's further back than that - but it's agony when I sit for more than about 10 mins)? I thought it would be better after 3weeks...

nuttygirl · 05/05/2007 23:08

Oh and CD - get to bed

CaptainDippy · 05/05/2007 23:16

My actual "bum" is sore nutty, but not the coccyx area, you could possibly have coccyxdinia, nutty - I had it once and it was BLOODY painful - GP gave my good painkillers and a funky rubbery ring to sit on - There's not a lot they can do, but the ring is great - keeping the weight of it allows it to heal ..... Try an inflatable child's type ring if you can't actually be arsed to drag yourself and your wee girlie along to the surgery atm ....

Here's some info on the condition, nutty.

Going to bed now .... promise ... ....

Hi all, flying visit, Danny - due 24 April - was finally born 4.29 am Friday morning - 4 May - after an induced labour taking 26.5 hours from the first ooh is this it pains. I finally got home at 8 pm tonight after 72 + hours in hospital. I didn't have the midwife nightmares I most feared, they were all amazing women doing a terrific job, but their workplace is crazy, especially postnatal.

Hope to catch up on the thread now I'm not feeling so sorry for myself some time!

Luci

big congrats elkidee - enjoy your new baby Danny xx

mammyjo · 06/05/2007 10:00

Congratulations elkie! Fab news!

Hope everyone is doing ok. Like the new name KHIN! at a whole pack of nappies a day, must be costing you a fortune!

SOKL, hope you and K are feeling a bit better today. Dd has a bit of a cold, snuffly and a bit of a cough. Not too bad, but she wont settle so well just now and seems to want to feed all the time.

BF seems to have settled again here after I felt that my supply was failing. Cant remember who talked about drinking loads but I have taken that on board and have really increased my fluid intake. Definitely seems to be helping. I do still make up a few ounces of formula every day in case I need it but so far I havent so we will see.

Love to all xxx

Hi all.

Lovely to see so many on pn thrread now!

Me and K seem back to normal thank God; thank you for you well wishes.

WCL, hope you feel better soon too.

Hope everyone is ok. Need to dash as the inlaws are here - they have nipped out for a walk with Becky and dh but will be back in a mo.

Hoping the sore nips, arses and thrush clears up soon, and that you all have a lovely day.

Dh has invited a bunch of people over for a BBQ - looks like it is going to pee with rain in a minute tho!!!

Is anyone able to start a new thread for us?? Ellie???

CaptainDippy · 06/05/2007 12:05

New Thread

Hoep that is ok!

octo · 06/05/2007 12:18

Congrats to elkidee and CD Welcome to the sleep deprivation thread!

My coxxyx (sp) is sore too - will take some painkillers - have some diclofenac left.

Ernie woke up just once again last night - at about 4 am - but then was difficult to settle again - thinking maybe he is super hungry and could do both boobs - as waking up in morning with very engorged boobs! Would be an idea to express then but if he is super hungry then aswell will want lots

Pinions - thanks for the fat face link! When I left hosp they gave me a booklet about bf and it had a whole section on thrush and mastitis etc - really helpful. I Think the thing which really does throw lots of mums is reflux - sounds terrible - much worse than colic.

Oooggs - hope things are well with the twins.

Mammyjo - I have made sure that I am eating lots more to keep up my supply - ernie is a milk monster and needs the extra calories. I am also drinking about 15 glasses of water a day and night - and have a snack when I feed in the night!

Hope this isn't too contentious - wouldn't dream of mentioning it off here - but when my health visitor came round the other day and we talked about breastfeeding and how big he was/how much he fed - we agreed it was unlikely he'd get to six months without being weaned - ds1 was weaned at 4 months (that was recommendation then) ds2 was just 13 weeks - but he was huge and starving - so am thinking about doing it in September rather than waiting til November. She said that very few big exclusive bf babies get to six months unless you are happy to feed every half hour. I do agree with her as know how starving the other two were - and ds2 was on hungry baby milk from 2 weeks old. I know its a bit early to be thinking about it! But more thinking about how long I want to bf for and how to combine giving up bf for ff and weaning at same time - I'm thinking it would be better not to do them at the same time.

Octo off to bury head in sand just in case someone gets overexcited
