Right ladies this is going to be used as a tip's, questions and answers etc thread for those of us who have had our babies and can't keep up with the chat on the other thread. (my word those ladies can talk)

And of course everyone is welcome to post on here the more advice etc the better.

Hello all yes it is me 1becomes3 I felt like a name change so I am now Kneehighinnappies, which is so true with 3 of them we are going through a pack a day!

Things have improved her DD1 is all better and so is DD2, my bad luck seems to have worn off, although I did go out fo a walk the other day and a bird shit on my head

I hope you are all well and Congratulations to all the new arrivals
Maybe some time this week I will have time to catch up.

claricebean · 05/05/2007 17:50

KHIN / 1b3 - so glad things are inproving for you . Oh, and birds pooing on your head is supposed to be lucky

eca · 05/05/2007 17:55

KneeHigh - good to see you. I'd been wondering how you were getting on (and hoping there had been no more disasters!) Glad to hear things are a bit better. Some people say a bird pooing on ya head is good luck!

pinions Talk to me about thrush!!! T has got it. I spotted the white spots in his mouth and took him to the docs today to see another useless doc who looked at me blankly and didn't seem to know what he was on about. I nearly cried infront of him out of sheer frustration with crappy docs. He probably wouldn't have noticed anyway ANYWAY, he's given me Daktarin oral cream for T. He said I didn't need treating. I knew that you have to treat both mother and baby or they reinfect each other, so pushed him on it. He's prescribed me antibiotics. I rung the bf helpline when home and they said that I shouldn't be taking antibiotics because it's a fungal infection and they could make it worse! They recommented I get some Daktarin non-oral cream for my nipples, so dh has rushed out and got that. So we'll give it a try. What did the doc give you? And has your ds's thrush cleared up yet?

Hi Luce - you must be shattered. Hope tonights better xx

Sexonknackeredlegs · 05/05/2007 18:06

Hi folks, and a big hello to khin! Love the name.

Luce, hope you have a better night tonight; that is a busy old night!

eca, sorry to hear you had such a crap time at the docs. I don't have much faith in the medical profession I have to say.

All ok'ish here. Katie was sick earlier having had a yukky nappy before that, and I was ill in the night, so think we may have a mild bug. K has just necked a 4oz bottle tho and is fast asleep again, so we shall see. I feel ok, but have awful tummy pains - high up though like heartburn/indigestion, Odd.

Anyway, hope you have all had lovely days in the sun. Catch up later on. xx

eca · 05/05/2007 18:11

SOKL - hope you're feeling better soon. xx Rest up and enjoy the bank hol weekend.

muminasaggytummy · 05/05/2007 19:27

Hi all

KHIN - Love your name!! and glad your luck appears to be changing!!

SOSKL - Poor you hun - hope you feel better soon, good that K has taken a feed and is sleeping - at least she is not really poorly as well as you.

Eddas - thanks so much for the offer of the voucher - I am actually going to get it on prescription next time but thanks for the offerx

Eca - what a nightmare at the docs....it makes you wonder what happens to the less clued up mummies doesn't it....terrible!

Lucewheel hope you managed to get some rest today.

I am currently enjoying my FIRST pre pregnancy glass of red wine......so nice to drink it and enjoy it GUILT FREE!
Will have to b careful though as I feel a warm glow already after a few moutfuls ....just waiting on the BBQ before I have any more or I'll be drunk as a skunk and I don't fancy doing night feeds if a bit tipsy!!!

James is at Grandma's so we just have Robyn (we are so lucky to have such supportive rellies!) and she is fast asleep so it feels nice and calm at the moment. Ispent all afternoon sorting out all the clothes we have been given - cannot beleive how much we have and she is only 3 weeks old on Monday!!!

Hope you have all had alovely day in the sunshine! God Dippy I think you are so brave going on an outing with 3 DC's!!! MUCH RESPECT!x

God I Love red wine!!!!x

Emmymummy - congratulations

Kneehighinnappies - hello ((waves)) love the name

Pinions - I agree about the fashion this summer Fat Face has some lovely stuff in - am saving up ....

also enjoying the odd glass of wine - had two last night and ernie only woke up once!

sorry haven't mentioned everyone - hope you are all okay ...... squawks coming from ernie - better go!

nuttygirl · 05/05/2007 20:35

Hey all,

Sorry I have caught up but am struggling to remember anythin...errr...sorry to all those with thrush probs, hope it clears up soon.

KHIN - lol at bird pooing on your head.

Pinions - I'm having a terrible time finding any nice clothes...my jelly belly still looks like I'm pg and the clothes that are out at the mo just make it worse

Well had sis, BIL, neice and aunt here today. They arrived at 9 (set off at 6.30) and stayed til 6.30pm. Went shopping with them and had lunch & tea out, which was lovely.

Gotta dash, Erin's screaming for something

octo · 05/05/2007 21:15

aha - that was it - a bird pooing on your head is supposed to be good luck - honestly - go and get a lottery ticket!

Waiting for ernie to wake up then off to bed.

Have finally listed my maternity clothes on ebay so can buy new clothes ...

Feeling a bit knackered - my back is on its way out, my let down feels like someone is stabbing me with a thousand red hot needles, my skin is truly drained of life and have started bleeding again

But on a fantastic achievement note - I can squirt breastmilk 25cm

eca · 05/05/2007 21:28

hey girls,

my poor little boy. He's crying and crying tonight. I think it's the thrush. He's hungry and goes to latch on and then throws his head back like he doesn't want to. I think it hurts to latch/suck. I could be in for a long night. MIAST pass us a large glass of that red you're enjoying!

Luce - my mw said it would take about 2 wks for bf to settle re:supply.

Nutty - I so know what you mean about clothes and tummies! I don't know if I'll ever fit in my jeans again. And the thought of all my tight fitting tops fills me with dread.

octo - sorry to hear you're feeling rough . But lol at squirting breast milk!! Oooo... I see another stats thread for the April bf'ers how far can you squirt yours ??????? HAHAHA!!

eca · 05/05/2007 21:30

AND MY NIPPLES HURT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (just needed to shout that somewhere)

Pinions · 05/05/2007 22:09

ECA - ORAL THRUSH

It is a total nightmare trying to feed cos like you say they are really hungry and trying to feed but you can tell that sth is a miss. Don't want to make you feel worse but i asked the doctor and they said yes, it would be really painful and very sore for them whilst feeding.

The good news is that once it is treated it gets better straightaway more or less.

right where do i start.

We were given daktarin oral gel, to smear around inside of t's mouth and tongue. Also cream for his bottom cos that sore too. You MUST get treatment for yourself you were right, obviously it is no good treating one without the other. You can use the same oral daktarin for nips (cos it goes in the mouth anyway) and this should be kept in the fridge. You also need tablets and durr at giving you antibiotics this is a fungal infection FGS your doctor sounds like a real plonker i would complain (we're a right complaining bunch aren't we). We should start a thread on complaints just to make ourselves feel better - future thread idea!!!

Where was i? Yeh i asked my doctor for antibiotics and she looked at me as if i was stupid and said this is a fungal infection.

Back on track - it takes them forever to feed cos they just stop start all the time.

I am quite passionate about this cos t had it for what seemed like for ever and it is really frustrating esp when you do not know what it is, as i didn't.

for now just use the same cream on yourself cos this is what i have.

Let me know if any of this helps! good luck.

And in general i am really glad i stuck with bf cos in myself i feel on top of the world and have not had any blue moments and haven't even cried yet, so there must be a lot of happy hormones.

(and i'm losing weight .)

Pinions · 05/05/2007 22:21

AND LET THE WINE BE THE FIRST OF MANY .

And congrats EMMY, GMM, ELKIEDEE X

OCTO - am pleased to hear we have a fellow ebayer on board i thought i was the only one. All my stuff is packed up in the garage ready to go onto turbolister when i get a minute. Bring it on. £££££££'s.

NUTTY - went into Leeds today, it looked like a ghost town. But then again we were in quite early. Trying to walk around dp with travel system not the greatest of ideas .

WestCountryLass · 05/05/2007 22:24

Hello everyone, hope you are enjoying your babies

I woke up last night feeling rough and spent the early hours worshipping the porceline throne. Leo seems a bit under the weather and has been a bit sicky but thank the lord he is over the colic. I did take him to the Drs as he has had sticky eye and it got quite horrible so he is having eye drops at the mo, that is a right polava.

We hav had a busy few days so are hoping to just chill out a bit this weekend, though am tempted to take the kids to the new Star Wars exhibition tomorrow...

CaptainDippy · 05/05/2007 22:25

Actually AM going to bed now .....

nuttygirl · 05/05/2007 22:59

Pinions - We went to white rose centre today...it was heaving. (Had my aunt with us and she won't walk v far since she had her heart op - the one that made her fit as a fiddle ). DH had a stupid cow come up to him and tell him he shouldn't have the baby in the sun (and referred to the baby as a he all the way through...despite the fact Erin was wearing a dress ).

Just made the mistake of trying on the outfit(s) I was planning on wearing to the christening. The first skirt looked very tight so tried on the back up one, unfortunately that wouldn't fit over my arse . Am hoping DH will take pity on me and let me buy a new outfit, if I can find one.

CaptainDippy · 05/05/2007 23:04

Too bloody right nutty - make him buy you a nice new outfit ..... you've just had his baby, after all!!

(I'm not here, really .....)

nuttygirl · 05/05/2007 23:05

Pants...I meant to explain that cos aunt won't walk far we went to WR centre rather than into Leeds.
