What will you start to wean with Wilkie? baby rice? fruit or yoghurt?

Report
WilkieBarEasterEgg · 27/03/2007 21:48

Chocolate ha ha

No was thinking of starting on baby rice and then progressing to pureed fruit.

What about you?

Report
Lizzzombie · 27/03/2007 21:49

can you get flavoured baby rice?

Report
WilkieBarEasterEgg · 27/03/2007 21:50

My sister used banana flavoured I think

Is that some sarcasm aimed at me there then?

Jodie - Eh?

Jodie - what are you talking about? Superted still?

Wilkie - where did your sister get banana flavoured baby rice from?

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 27/03/2007 21:53

it's ok, feeling slightly sensitive about age as I'll be 30 this year, I can't believe it! I think that's why I like Skins as I think I'm still 17

Ahh, Mavis the fairy, and Superted! What about Wizbit, Ulysses, City of Gold, Count Duckula, Transformers, and Dangermouse! Can you tell this eighties child watched a lot of tv?

Wilkie - was it organic?

Report
JodieG1 · 27/03/2007 21:54

If not then forget it, just after the message I posted about pissing people off thought the weaning at 12 weeks was a piss take. I think I'm paranoid or something tonight. Were those serious comments about weaning?

Wizbit! Hah! Blast from the past!
Carrot - 30 is fantastic! 31 I had to do sober and pregnant...much more scary, I am now nearer 40 than 20!

Lizz - Not sure, think it was called Hipp Organic or something. I'm going to mums tomorrow and she'll be there so will ask her.

Lizzzombie · 27/03/2007 21:56

Sorry Jodie - over my head. My DP's neice was weaned at 8 weeks.

Report
WilkieBarEasterEgg · 27/03/2007 21:58

My mum weaned my sis at 12 weeks Lizz, it was only then that she started sleeping thru. Think all this 6 months business is nonsense.

Jodie - sorry chuck, didn't read your previous post properly - no need to be paranoid

Report
JodieG1 · 27/03/2007 22:00

Oh shit sorry then, thought it was a piss take.

Please don't wean until 6 months, plenty of evidence to suppport that, it's bad for baby and can cause allergies, bowl conditions etc and especially if there are any allergies in the family. I can get you links if you want. Babies just don't need food until their gut is mature enough to handle it and that's around 6 months, even then they only eat for taste not for any calorific content.

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 27/03/2007 22:04

Are you really nearly 40, Lizz, I assume everyone is the same age as me! I think I will be ok when I hit 30, just the thought of leaving 20's behind, mind you, I've been having kids and studying for most of it, now I just need to raise them and get a career in the next decade

What happened with that weaning conversation then, I don't think anyone was being sarcastic, Jodie, I guess these can be misread the same as texts?

Report
JodieG1 · 27/03/2007 22:04

Wilkie - when you start weaning they don't eat enough to replace any calories they would get from milk so they actually get less. Milk is the main source of food and calories until over 6 months. Thanks though, really thought you were both being sarastic, need to stop the paranoia lol.

6 months! I don't think ds1 could have waited that long we only just made it to 16 weeks he was an incredibly hungry baby.

However Max is not the same so might get away with just milk for longer.
