talking of meet ups...Lizzz I'm coming to Brighton on thursday(school shoe shopping...)

If you're free maybe we could meet for a cuppa??

I'll have ds1, ds3 and george(ds2 is going fishing with Dh) with me so you might want to bring some earplugs if you can make it.

Who wants to volunteer to find out where we all live and get a big map of england and very scientifically (maybe using pins and bits of string?) find the point exactly in the middle where we can all meet up? It'll probably be in a field somewhere...

Just been talking to DP about whether we can afford a holiday later in the year. We're off to visit my parents in Hong Kong in a couple of weeks but are thinking about a week somewhere in UK around September. Have any of you been to Centre Parcs?

I just got my period back too. Finally. Kind of glad as I know everythings back in working order, but also had pretty horrendous cramps the last 2 days so have been popping nurofen by the fistful.

Geography not my strong point !

Feeling quite pleased with myself today as just sold a lot of my maternity things on ebay (Never done that before - can you imagine !) it got quite exciting at the end and I've made £90.

A nice lady came round tonight to pick up a top and I've sold her my moses basket and gave her a load of 0-3month clothes as she knew she was expecting a boy. I think I've finally realised that there's no more babies in our house . She was made up.

I'd decided to give all the money to Tiny Lives a charity at Newcastle hospital, for prem babies and their families. They supported us at Christmas, buying Will a little toy elephant, a shawl and a home made cardy and gave selection boxes for my elder two. The kindness of strangers really gets to me and I wanted to give something back. DH is doing the Blaydon races soon and his firm will match the donation, so with gift aid its looking close to £250 .

Now I've cleared some space I can go shopping again !

Pants LTH - I'm in Eastbourne househunting on Thursday. Fingers crossed none of the 5 viewings I've sorted go before then!

Had a pilates lesson last night. Does anyone else do this? Its sorted my back right out, but am very concerned at the lack of strength in my pelvic floors since having LO. Apparently it comes back eventually.

Ohh, thats a shame Lizzz but I hope you have some luck with the house hunting.
I;ll keep my fingers crossed that you get what you want.
Eastbourne is even easier for me so once you've moved we can do lunch and coffee and shopping and.. and.. and... and...and.. and

PCF, where do you live? were you just visiting Brighton?

Georges skin is much better today. The calendula cream seems to have cured the redness completely. He obviously was reacting to the other cream. The dryness is much better today too. It seems to be flaking off whereas before it was almost like cradle cap (stuck on and looking really manky).

It's a lovely day here, really sunny and bright......Grrrrrr my washing pile has got totally out of hand so I have put it all away before it takes over the house.

Shimmer - Center Parcs in Sherwood. Been about 10 times now and LOVE it, so peaceful and relaxing, no cars about, hire some bikes ride through forest, eat lots and do some swimming down the rapids..... Come to Center Parcs - we're going from 10th Sept for 5 days

LTH - glad to hear George's skin is finally clearing up bless him

Laughalot - added you to my MSN

Not much to report, just about to buy a new mobile - Samsung D900 and am very excited [geek emoticon]

Report
theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 04/04/2007 10:17

morning all!!

wilkie - SamsungD900 is the same phone as i have! be warned though - the screen on it broke and had to be fixed a few weeks ago so it might be well worth getting insurance on it if you're clumsy with phones like me!

well the big news in our house is that Zac actually has a tooth coming through! a little white bud on his bottom gum. i guess this would explain the temperature and flushed cheeks, but i thought they were supposed to have nappy rash and i'm still totally in the dark about the blood in his nappy!! i got some teething powder after a fairly disastrous Bonjela incident (tried to rub it on - he lunged forwards, gagged himself on my finger, puked all over me!) and it's fab! doesn't taste of anything, so no disgusted looks on LO's face, numbs everything and as a plus can be sold at a profit in clubs as fake cocaine. not that i would.....

i think we need 2Happy to compile a list of where we all live and then pinpoint the geometric centre.

Another msn novice here - I have it on my pc but only ever chat to bf. Do I add other contacts or do I give you mine and you add me? And does this mean we have to reveal our rl names?

Report
theUrbanDryadLovesCremeEggs · 04/04/2007 10:35

you don't have to reveal your RL name, although i was slightly startled to find out LTH's real name. i mean, she just doesn't seem like a Gertrude.....

ok - how to add someone. go to Contacts. click on Add Contact. type the email address of the person you want to add (mine is [email protected]) then click Next. then click Finish.

Think I need a bit more sleep - just spent 5 minutes looking for this thread on the antenatal thread. I thought it was odd I couldnt find it as we are always near the top.

Wow ! a tooth well done baby UD.

Glad the skin is sorting itself out LTH. I swear by Vaseline for everything. Seems to work for us.

I used to do pilates and thought it quite useful, it certainly made me think about my posture. Just given up my gym membership now though, dont think I can justify it

Right, finally decided after 10 years of not having one, that I need a baby monitor. I've never been one of those mums constantly attached to one, but I've finally realised I cant always hear this LO if I put him upstairs for a sleep. I'm going to looking for a cheap one on ebay now I've got into it. Any recommendations / ones to avoid ?

pinkcandyfloss · 04/04/2007 10:56

UD- ahh a little tooth already! Glad the powder is helping him!

LTH- I live nearish Worthing and was visiting Brighton for the day. Glad George's skin is better.

Kat - I had tomy walkabout ones with Alex and they were great. We got a 2nd hand Angelcare monitor with sensor pad for Max but haven't used the sensor mat yet and don't think we will to be honest. The monitors themselves are ok though.

kat - another recommendation for the tomy walkabout here! we weren't going to get one either, but someone gave us a £30 Argos voucher and i couldn't think of anything else to get with it!

A tooth, UD, that's exciting, and nice to have an explanation for him being poorly. That's quite early as well, maybe he will be very advanced

LTH- I'm pleased the cream has helped George's skin, I always use that on mine, it's horrible when they're sore, poor things

Shimmer- I haven't been to Centerparks yet, our nearest one is Thetford forest but we're intending to at some point as loads of my friends go and rave about it, the scenery is lovely apparently and its very relaxing, great family holiday.

Wilkie how exciting about centre parcs! We were thinking of going to the Cumbria one though as its near where DPs parents live so we can visit them too. Was looking at the rooms (houses, cabins, whatever they are..) last night... are you getting a 2 bed one or the 1 bed? We thought a 1 bed would be fine but looks like they're basically studios with no actual bedroom, so to avoid us just having to sit quietly in the dark once little one had gone to sleep i guess we might need the 2 bed

Freddie has not had a good morning. Woke up at 5am so i fed him then but he didn't seem to want to go back to sleep so we sat and watched TV for about an hour and when he seemed to be nodding off i put him down. However about 10 mins later he woke up really crying so i sent DP over to check on him and he did a really big (rather impressive actually) projectile vomit all over him! poor little chap seemed more surprised than anything - it had obviously gone straight up in the air and a lot of it fell back down on his face!! (though most of it over dp hehe) He fell asleep again soon after but about 20 mins later woke up and was really sick again. This time all over me (which i think dp was secretly rather pleased about!) Anyway he's had another good sleep and some water and a bit of milk just now and seems absolutely fine. I on the other hand am knackered already and its only 11am.

Already had 2 loads of washing in the machine this morning and freddie's just got poo all over his clothes (and dp! my aren't we messy this morning!! hehe) so time for load no. 3 i think...

My machine is going endlessly this morning too, trying to get things ready to go to Yorkshire on Saturday, but, DP is doing it, as he is off this week, I am meeting friend for lunch instead ha ha

We've just been to rock&rhyme at the library. Considering Dylan is only 9 and a half weeks (!!) I was surprised at how animated he was. Obviously he didnt join in (not that much of a child genius yet) but he was sat up and looking around the whole time. This was my first time out to a mother and baby thingy and I am very pleased with myself.
LTH - Whereabouts do you live? Do you know anything about Hampden Park?
