Bloody hell, I hadn't thought about cars, Dragon, how will I get there? Maybe a minibus

CarrotAteAllTheEggs · 02/04/2007 20:30

and fortunately, a friend is coming over from France this weekend so we can get him to bring lots of cheap champagne, should save some money anyway

Dragonhart · 02/04/2007 20:34

Mmmm. Champane.

Dragonhart · 02/04/2007 20:35

But even Mmmmier- champagne

JodieG1 · 02/04/2007 20:42

I love champagne, particularly like the piper heidsnick one.

Msn is easy to use for those asking. My address is [email protected] if you want to add me when you get it up and running.

ellieandhattieandchocolate · 02/04/2007 20:42

may be worth ringing local taxi firms as friend was doing a small wedding and managed to book a brand new merc as the taxi cost about 90% less than hiring a 'wedding' car

JodieG1 · 02/04/2007 20:44

We had a wedding car for ours, it was a lovely cream one but can't remember what make, an old fashioned one. Think it cost about £120 so that wasn't too bad I didn't think and we were on a budget too.

ellieandhattieandchocolate · 02/04/2007 20:44

that didnt really make sense but hope you got the drift of it

LadyTophamHatt · 02/04/2007 20:46

I'm not too clever at adding people on msn so mine is pemblemac @...etc etc if anyone wants it.

ellieandhattieandchocolate · 02/04/2007 20:47

Oh Lth I am good at adding people arent I? (actually am good at adding and deleting and not really know what I am doing!)

laughalot · 02/04/2007 20:56

Right ill book the holiday £ 150 deposit each please and ill make sure we get a wicked discount.

RGeeSusIsCrucified · 02/04/2007 21:12

Alright chitter chatterboxes. Will set up MSN soon (not tonight, I need my bed now).
Had the piles finger inspection by a seemingly 12 year old male doctor (Dougie Howser MD - anyone remember that?). Just about recovered!

Yes Carrot / EAH - it's best not to picture me with toes dangling out downstairs. Not my best ever pose walking down that corridor in a panicking John Wayne swagger. Yes she was an undiognosed footling breech, until the MW broke my waters at 9 3/4cm then the toes popped out to say hello!!

Off to bed now though. Hope you all get good nights. Zzzzzzzzzzz

Shimmer · 02/04/2007 22:16

Ahhh somebody take the mini eggs away....
I think i must have eaten about 5 thousand of them now! And just before bed too. tut tut.

RGee I used to have a 12 year old doctor too (just looked up the whole career of Neil Patrick Harris because I couldn't remember his name. I love seeing what obscure stuff people like that have had bit parts it! DP just said he's gay (Neil Patrick Harris, not DP). Can that be true?) but i changed when i got pg as couldn't face the idea of going to him about embarrasing pregnancy related isses. Got a nice middle-aged woman now. Much better!

Fingers crossed for good nights for y'all.

Woah! There I was befuddled by MSN, and missing all the chat on here!! I will have to take some time to look at MSN properly. Not today though, off to Mum & babies group - let's see what the freaky HV has to say today

Have totally confused myself about car seats. We want to get a second (it's a PITA swapping the seat depending on who's picking ds1 up) and besides, they're supposed to do the kids until they are 4yo, well ds1 will be out of his little car seat long before ds1 is 4yo.

So much choice! E&H recommends the Britax - looks good, but which style?! We have a maxi cosi - the straps twist a lot which is annoying...

Half way to making a decision, notice that they all do 9m-4y or up to 18kg. Hang on....18kg?? 18kg?! ds1 is 15kg already. It's not going to take him 2 yrs to put on another half a stone is it? These seats are soooo not going to last him to 4. I'll be lucky if they last him to 2yo (June)!

So, clever MNers, can they go in a booster seat at under 4yo, can he go in one as soon as he's 18kg, is that safe? In which case, there's not a lot of point buying a second seat, since he'll probably be 18kg by the time ds2 is 9m....

(And if any of you have advice about bed guards/rails for toddlers going into big boy's beds.....TIA )

And since I'm writing an epic , mil revealed that breaking beds isn't just ds1 being a pest. It's a family trait. DH broke 2 byt the time he left home!! I'm going to need to win the pools!

MY BACK HURTS!
I have been so careful to lift LO using knees etc and be aware of my posture, but its kicked in well and truly. My back really really aches. I'm not happy. Pilates starts tonight, to get rid of baby roll.
yummy mummy without a tummy will be with us soon! x

LadyTophamHatt · 03/04/2007 09:06

Hmmmm..well georges face seems a bit better this morning so maybe it is the cream, any and all cream making it worse.

The flakiness is still there but it's not nearly as red, nowhere near as red actually.
I'm not sure if the flakiness is looking better because the redness has gone.....

Hmmmm
It still feels rough all over but looks likes the it's a smaller area IYSWIM.

I'll leave it again for today and see whay happens.

Lizzzombie · 03/04/2007 10:08

Does anyone elses LO have a funny shaped head? Should I be concerned?

LadyTophamHatt · 03/04/2007 10:11

what do you mean by funny shaped, Lizzz?

Lizzzombie · 03/04/2007 10:19

Well, its not round. Its sort of flat at the back.

Lizzzombie · 03/04/2007 10:23

I've not asked the HV or Dr, and no one has mentioned to me that it looks odd. And I dont think it is so bad that he needs one of those helmets. I guess its because he sleeps on his back, and his skull is yet to form, so its the soft bit which is flat. But I just wondered if I should be doing anything to ensure it doesnt stay flat. Or if indeed, anyone else's baby had a flat head too.

PCF got there first

It's just sleeping positions. You could try putting him to sleep on his side to lessen it, we've got one of those things that supports them atthe sides...Ummm not sure how to explain it.

One of these

You could use it keep him sleep on his side too I suppose.

But anyway like PCF say, once his hair has grown you won't notice it.

LadyTophamHatt · 03/04/2007 10:44

Has UD been on lately?

Haven't seen her for a few days, I hope Zac is ok sonce his hospital trip.

EasterHattieOrShouldItBeBonnet · 03/04/2007 10:46

Apparently if it was flat when he was born it's likely to stay that way - but usually not noticeable when hair grows. If it's been flattened since birth due to the way they sleep it's likely to improve once they start sitting and rolling. DD was like this and you can't tell at all now and ds has developed a flat spot on one side - hv said it should grow out. You should also put them on tummy to play - but mine hates this and lasts about 2 mins!
