Mini high 5 and shake the bum dance to me!! DD is napping in her big girl cot 😢 it's the first time. No rocking or cuddling just twinkle twinkle little star ( sung that to her from bump) couple of shhh shhhh then white noise and she's off the dreamland.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2017 10:13

Well done @carolann

As Long as bag Says the tog it doesn't need to be a 'gro' bag

It's like Prada jeans v Lidl

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2017 10:14

And yes dd shrieks to high heaven !!!!

Esp in jumperoo but can be anyway

It's pleasure /finding her voice rather then crying /screaming

MotherofA · 04/09/2017 10:52

Yes just so loud haha 😂

Well done Carol !

Just popping on quickly to post this for purple - Main thing I've taken from it is that smaller feeds more frequently are better as they're not stretching the tummy so much.

Abacha
Thanks for the tip about TK Max, I will try and go if I get chance!

I looked on the Asda website and could only find 2.5 tog ones - but they are £12 or £13 which is good! Maybe they have 1/1.5 tog in store... I do want a 1 tog for daytime naps and if it's still hot at night (apparently we're due a bit of a heatwave soon - I'm in East Anglia).

Carol
Well done for getting her to sleep in her cot! Are you switching to the cot because she's grown out of her Moses basket?

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 13:47

Just sorted through DDs sleeping bags and discovered we have some "medium" ones yay! She looked a little lost in the one she had on last night tbh. They are all 2.5 tho. Her smaller ones were different rigs but she's out grown them.

She's gone back to not eating today. Still her happy chatty self with her little bluesy voice 😊

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 13:48

name just trying to get her use to her room before she starts sleeping in there at night. Just about fits in her Moses still.

NameChange30 · 04/09/2017 13:53

Mother Yes DS shrieks too!

Abacha To answer your question about white noise, i used to turn it off when he fell asleep, but recently bought a MyHummy which is cool because it has a sensor, so you can set it to go back on again automatically if the baby starts to stir. One of several "throw money at the problem" purchases!! It does seem good though. Helped him fall asleep in the pushchair today 👍

Carol Good idea, i think we're going to do that with DS after we get back from holiday. Need to reorganise his room a bit first as his cot is full of stuff! Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2017 14:07

Dr shah IS lovely. I met him on a reflux course I did and have recommended several clients to him

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 14:17

We have a night light butterfly, it has lights, music and a heartbeat function. We only use the heartbeat function. It stays on for 30 mins so plenty of time DD to drift off

Bit harder getting her to nap this afternoon. She has been right her afternoon nap recently but......

I took off her pants so she doesn't get too hot and the window has the vent open so she shouldn't too hot

100yearsdotcom · 04/09/2017 17:30

Here's the cups, they're very small so a bit of a faff now but I think a doidy cup might be similar enough to work as well.

Blondes - good to know!

Oh and yy to the shrieking! HmmGrin

troodiedoo · 04/09/2017 17:40

Aw carol she looks so cute and cosy.

NameChange30 · 04/09/2017 18:06

Thank you 100!
Might check out doidy cups. DS seems to be fascinated whenever anyone drinks from a bottle - sadly this does not apply to his own bottle when DH tries giving it to him!
I decided to try using my Haakaa pump again (hadn't used it for ages) but it's pretty tricky now as DS either kicks it or grabs it!

Hugh GrinGrin toy car haha

Carol she's a beauty !

purpleviolet1 · 04/09/2017 19:18

Great news carol!

Thanks v much 100! Will have a read now.

I got a silent night gro bag from B&M - £12.99. Thought it was a great price. They had different togs available. However I did find the inside bunched up a bit so his legs used to sort of catch? I bought a couple from mamas and papas now, 2 for £39.

On this note, ds seems to do his business first thing in the mornings, and last couple of days he's leaked out his nappy onto the sleep bag. He sleeps in a bodysuit and sleep bag. Any advice? Not sure what to do coz even if I change his nappy at say 5am he seems to do it just before waking at 7ish

Ds hasn't done the shrieking thing for a few days thankfully 😅 however he has started making this gagging noise / coughs. First I thought something was irritating him as he was going it after feeds but I think he does it on purpose?? He finds it really funny.

Carol she's gorgeous!!

Ds had millet porridge twice today whoop whoop! Had the appt with the sleep lady and feeling much more confident about things.

Hugh
I like the sound of the toy car on boob technique Grin

Glad the appointment went well and you're feeling positive. What's the plan now?

NameChange30 · 04/09/2017 19:27

Do you think it might help to move up to a bigger size nappy?

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 19:35

DD waits until I change her out of her night nappy to do her dirty nappy. Everyday!

The past couple of days she had 2 dirty nappies in the afternoon as well. 1 after the other. If I didn't change her straight away after her 1st she would have a blow out
