Yes so true troobie and name , it's a bloody tough call . I also thought it might be good for her. Think I might try nights and see if I can manage . Not sure ! Confused

NameChange30 · 03/09/2017 21:13

To be fair it is still quite soon, you might feel differently in a month or two. I'm not going back to work just yet and I'm sure I'll have a wobble when I do!

purpleviolet1 · 03/09/2017 21:28

Thanks name! Grin ive been reading a book since I last posted but should really try and sleep now. This afternoon I felt sick with exhaustion. Felt like I was going to collapse

Agree re chat about nursery; it's tough to leave them and I'll be having the biggest wobble but at the same time I don't think of it as a bad thing. It can be great to help them develop.

Yes I think I'll delay until she is maybe 7 months or something and try working at night . Smile
I hope everyone gets lots of rest tonight .

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/09/2017 22:02

Have to working nights works well for us tho means I don't see df lotsb week days tho that's not a bad thing 😂

Gro bags are fab. Keep them warm and can't throw them off nor huddle under them

Try a 1/1,5 tog as if use a 2.5 now then when it gets really cold your dc won't be able to get warmer unless lots of layers

I got mine off my local fb selling site £1/£2. Refuse to pay £20/30 for one esp as was the smaller size and will be out of it soon

Will take 2 summer ones with us on holiday of .5/1 and assume dd will be in a short sleeved vest as hates being naked

MotherofA · 03/09/2017 22:34

I was shocked at how expensive they were when we got ours last week ! I might look at pre owned ones when we get a thicker one . The one we got is 1tog .

coupester · 03/09/2017 22:47

I got a 1.5tog from Asda for £12. We've got a 2.5 for when it's colder but a friend gave us that. I've seen the prices elsewhere and it's crazy! Although they looks so cosy I want one for myself...

Re nurseries, the one I looked at last week does 'settling in' sessions before they start properly, where you take your child for an hour or two but you stay in the building (out of sight, obvs). I think it'd really help. When I was there I left DS with the staff in the baby room while I saw the other rooms and he was absolutely fine which helped make me feel better. He won't be going til Jan but I feel more positive about it and less guilty!

Carolann8584 · 03/09/2017 23:16

Ok same as yesterday should I df?

DD had 7oz at 6:15 and woke for 3oz at 9:45. She woke at 9 yesterday for the same 3oz. When I tried her df at 11:30 she didn't want any of it. Should I try her with it tonight?

MotherofA · 03/09/2017 23:16

Yes they do those at the one I am planning to use also coupester .
I never even thought to try Asda or anywhere I'll shop around next time !

Carolann8584 · 03/09/2017 23:23

Also she's loosing her "voice" shes so husky. Now normally if I had a dry throat I would drink hot lemon and honey obviously I can't give her that

NameChange30 · 04/09/2017 01:44

I thought this was quite a good deal, you get 2 different weight Grobags for £37 (1 tog and a 2.5 tog):
www.tesco.com/direct/grobag-twin-pack-roll-up-day-night-sleeping-bags-6-18-months/315-3737.prd

Checking out Asda now!

purpleviolet1 · 04/09/2017 03:22

Carol did you offer the df? No harm I suppose as it's just a top up, if she takes it or refuses it, it's fine either way really

Namechange how is the night going?! Just fed ds and put him down. He has been up 3 times since 7pm (this is 4th) but each time settled within 10 mins or so.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2017 03:35

IM a df fan so offer and see what happens

Well done @purpoe for resettling so quickly

I still think £37 is a lot to pay. Many things I want/buy new but quite happy with 2nd hand gro bags so def check out local buy sell sites

NameChange30 · 04/09/2017 05:35

Yes I agree £37 is still a lot but it's definitely the best price l found for 2 new Grobags (the specific brand that is).

Our night is going much the same as the others, maybe slightly better as he did sleep for 3h40 at th beginning of the night. It's been every 1h30-2h since then and we're on the 4th wake up now. He has been easy to settle thankfully. Glad your DS has been quick to settle too.

Wish I knew why he's waking up after pretty much every sleep cycle and wish I could fix it somehow, but I can't think of a solution other than waiting it out.

NameChange30 · 04/09/2017 06:34

Annoyed with DH, he decided to "help" at 5.30am when I didn't actually want or need him to, I would have just fed DS back to sleep, but no, DH decided to change his nappy and rock him, but of course that woke him up and he couldn't get back to sleep, plus neither could I because I could hear them. So DS woke up for the day at 5.30am and the routine for the rest of the day is going to be completely buggered.

It annoys the hell out of me when DH doesn't listen and thinks he knows best. Nice that he wants to help but it's not actually helpful to have someone work against you instead of with you Angry

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/09/2017 06:49

Kwym @name. They mean well but cocks up your day plus 'whispers' don't rock as you will need to stop that eventually - pat and shush - tell eh that

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 06:58

She woke again for the df at 11:30ish. Had another 3oz. Then slept til 5:15 then cried her little heart out well as much as she could with her little husky voice. Picked her up and she immediately put her head on my shoulder and went back to sleep. 3 times tried to put her back in Moses and each time she did the same thing so thought even if I'm not going to sleep at least she can. She woke for the day at 6:30 and is now just watching me type. Haven't offered her feed yet coz as usual she doesn't "ask" for feeds during the day and definitely not breakfast. Am predicting another 3oz feed

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 06:58

Flowers for those up several times during the night

MotherofA · 04/09/2017 07:34

Yes name that's a good price for the branded and two different tog bags .
Urgh to DH "helping" lol . Hope you get some rest today .
Ah poor DD Carol hope she's ok , sounds like a cold doesn't it .
Anyone else's baby scream / shriek a lot and really loudly ?? She's not crying or upset but the noise goes through me and she doesn't appear to be stopping any time soon.

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 07:59

Yeah my DP has had man flu all weekend and now my head is all bunged up so DD has it as well. Glad she can still breathe ok through her nose she didn't like the nasal drops last time she had a blocked nose

Abacha · 04/09/2017 08:04

Another night...They both wanted a feed 3 times during the night, they both go back to sleep immediately after eating so it wasnt too bad. For those that use white noise, do you play it through the night or till baby falls asleep?

If you have tk maxx near you, they normally have grobags on sale. Is the there any difference in quality at all between the branded ones and others? Or is 2.5 tog the same anywhere?

Carolann8584 · 04/09/2017 08:14

We have a couple of sleeping bags that are from different supermarkets and they are all fine. They look fuller than the grobags but sane tog

MotherofA · 04/09/2017 08:27

I think if it's togged at a certain level it would give the same warmth across the board .
Wow Abacha that's full on bless you !
Ahhhh hope she feels better Carol .

troodiedoo · 04/09/2017 08:30

Yes well meaning dh sometimes annoys me with his help. Also dd1 comes bounding in the room and dd2 will always want to stop whatever she's doing and look at her. It's cute but makes me silently seethe. Dd1 is very sensitive so I don't want to exclude her.

Ha mother yes we get the shrieking it goes right through me. Going round supermarkets seems to be a favourite place to do it lol.

MotherofA · 04/09/2017 08:42

Yes I met my cousin for lunch a few weeks ago and her shriek made the waitress jump . Blush. The worst part is there was a mothers meeting of some sort in there and I didn't eat one of their babies make a sound !
